Twins and the Slayer Line

I read something about Tiwns today, and I was thinking about Fray and how it had some pretty cool stuff on the Slayer line.

Can anyone remember are Fray and Harth identical twins, did it state that anywhere?

I was just thinking how how the slayer power got split in their case, if they are identical twins it could make sense as they start out as the same egg and split to form a second.

Wouldn't this actually answer the question of when a girl is chosen to be a potential slayer, meaning they are chosen not at birth, or when they reach a certain age, but at conception, and in the case of Harth he split away from his sister and took her Slayers dreams with her?

Do you think thet it could have just be 50/50 chance that he got the visions and not the strength, as in we could have had a male slayer in Harth, had something gone differently?

Probably questions that can't be answered but interesting all the same, lol!

Is Fray a girl?

If so they're not identical.

It's extremely rare for Monozygotic, or identical, twins to be different sexes, but it can happen.

I don't think that twins of opposite sex can be considered "identical" twins. Twins, triplets, and so on, occur when a single fertilized egg splits and forms identical twins, same features, same DNA, and most importantly in this case, same sex. (Of course, humans might have evolved or mutated by Faith's time that that wouldn't be the case.

The biggest problem is that we have never been told exactly what makes a girl a Potential, let alone what decides which Potential becomes the next Slayer. Almost certainly the Shadow men had no real control of the process after they set it in motion, and the Watchers obviously had only limited success in identifying and locating the various Potentials. Being a Potential MAY be genetic, therefore identical twin girls could both be Potentials, but since only one Potential is called at a time, they couldn't both be Slayers at the same time.

Personally, I think that Joss either hoped that no one would question the fact that Harth received part of his sister's power, or he just plain screwed up.
