I have Facebook and I'm pretty much addicted to it, but I've always stayed away from Twitter. Now a lot of my friends have it, and I know a lot of people here do as well, but I don't have a clue about how to use it!

If you have twitter, will you let me know how to follow you and how to tweet you?

Since my tweets are protected you need to send a request. But for most other people you just need to click the follow button.

To tweet someone just add @ in fron of their username when you send a message. Or take the mouse over one of their messages and a few options will show up beneath the message, click reply and the @+username will show up by itself.

This can be worth checking out when it comes to people to follow. Whedonverse and Buffy-Boards on Twitter I haven't checked but hopefully it's up to date.

What does # mean?

Good question. People use it for certain phrases regarding something special. You'll see it around after a while. Some time ago it was used for things you wanted to get trending. Or so it seemed. I'm very, very far from an expert of Twitter. But it's nothing important to get into.

I used to only use faceook and think Twitter was dumb. But when I joined BB, twitter was easier to keep up with everyone on here... and now I barely use my facebook for anything. Facebook is for family, twitter is for friends for me.

People use the hashtag symbol # before relevant keywords in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets to show more easily in Twitter Search.

Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message shows you all other Tweets in that category.

Hashtags can occur anywhere in the Tweet.

Hashtagged words that become very popular are often Trending Topics.
Example: Below, @VegNews added the hashtag before the word "vegan" in their message. The word is now a link to search results for all Tweets containing "[HASHTAG]#vegan[/HASHTAG]" in the message.
