Two pets?

I was just wondering, because I saw David's Girl with 2, if you can have 2 pets. Or is it just my computer screwing up?

If we can, can I battle myself or do I fight normally (other pets)?

Well I guess it's possible to have two pets, but it's really supposed to be one per person.
