Hi All,

Just a quickie after the announcement of Fox having a web page, I noticed that they had an email address for general enquiries so thought I would write and ask about the possibility of a UK airing and got the following response, not specific but definately positive so UK people lets start bothering Sky and BBC 2. What do you reckon ???

Dear Clair,

Thank you for your email - we too are fans of Eliza!

We just viewed the show for our UK and other International clients and there was a great enthusiasm for the series. We are confident that the show will show up on the air in your country but it's still a bit early yet - the show will have to premiere here first (in the Fall) and if it does well it will more than likely end up on the air over there. The UK premiere in recent years has been falling closer and closer to the American launch date so by the Fall you should know when and where it will air.

If you're trying to insure the airing of the program I reccomend you encourage broadcasters in your country to buy the series.

Thank you for email and your suport of the new show.

Best regards,

FoxNow

Wow, that's looking pretty good. It'd be fantastic if it actually happens! It's a pretty positive letter.

Nice one traveller, good thinking to actually e-mail...i'm off to go bug those respective tv channels now... 😉

Yay! This is really looking good... I wouldn't be surprised if Tru Calling ends up filling Buffy's time slot on Thursdays at 8 on sky1!
I wouldn't want bbc2 to get it though...they'd probably show it at 6 and cut the hell out of it like they did with Buffy. Now, I'm thinking kidnapping the Controller of Sky one...does anyone wanna help cutting letters out of magazines to make the ransom note?

I'll help, we could make him watch every episode of Buffy and Angel that Eliza ever appeared in over and over again. Then he would be so happy that he would agree to our demands. 😀

I got a theory regarding which broadcasters in the UK we should bother.

It is my personal opinion that attention should be focused upon Sky|One. Sky never have breaks between episodes unlike BBC2 who regularly cancelled (and still do cancel) episodes of Buffy in favour of Snooker Championships or Golf.

Do the UK viewers really want this inconvienience with yet another show?

SO PESTER SKY|ONE ABOUT BUYING THE SHOW

Thank you

I've already e-mailed Sky One about five days ago, but they still haven't replied. Hopefully the show will get good reviews and it'll be shown here.

can I have the e-mail adress you used to send your mail ???
I'll ask if the serie will air in Belgium or France 🙂

and ask if they want to air it in holland someday....

mine e-mail adres??? well anyway it's barneveld1983@hotmail.com

If anyone else wants to bother who I orginally emailed then the email address is FoxNow@Fox.com its on the Tru calling Webpage on Fox.

Wasnt sure if this was what you wanted as got a little bit lost in the posts so hopefully it helps, we want world wide domination !!

Have also emailed Sky but like the others no reply as yet, typical of us Brits - forming an orderly queue !!!!

Well, the reply from FoxNow did say "other international clients", so the advice is applicable no matter where you live...

If you don't live in the US and want to see Tru Calling, write an "if you build it, they will come" letter to your local networks (the one that shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer in your country is the most likely place to start). Tell them how much you loved Eliza on Buffy, how she's going to be in her own show starting this Fall, and if they show it, not only will you watch it, but you'll get all your friends to watch it.

Reply from Sky Tv

I got a reply from sky regarding my lengthy e-mail I sent.

Ive posted it below but its nothing to get excited about just a standard response.

Thank you for your email about a new series Tru Calling. Please accept my
apologies for the delay in responding.

Sky always welcome viewers' comments and interest and all the points raised
in your email with regard to this sew series have been noted and passed to
Sky One for their information.

Thank you for your continued interest in Sky.

Kind regards

Its about what I expected but at least they are aware that there is gonna be a demand for the series, so it all helps. : whatever

I think there's a good chance that Channel 5 will go for True Calling. Ok it's better than nothing but i'd still prefer it on Sky One... Least they don't screw around with the scheduling much.

I think it's a good idea to encourage Channel 5 to buy it. Unlike the other terrestrial channels, C5 have a lot of respect for genre shows and regularly give them primetime slots. Xena for a past example, Charmed and Angel for more recent examples. They very rarely mess about with the schedules too.

I wouldn't like Sky One to get it as it penalises those (like myself) who don't have satellite television.
