i have one question...why is there an unusual amount of uk people on this board...is this a uk buffy forum???....
 
a yukker? and its cos as far as i know theres no big buffy uk, i know there used to be one, buffyuk.org but it doesnt seem to be around anymore, which isnt a bad thing cos the guy running it was a right moody git.
 
Lol, buffyuk.org is what created the yukkers, which I, Faith and several others were members of. That closed, several other boards have opened and closed, with very few consequences other than buffyboards.com We're here, and unless I'm very much mistaken, we're here to stay 😀

There are quite a few people from the uk, but I was also quite suprised to find many people are from the US (guess i just presume people are from the UK) There's also members from the Netherlands, France etc etc I suppose we're pretty multinational....
 
This is the best Buffy/Angel board I've come across! I didn't actually care whether it was a UK board or not, but it is a bonus to have more people from my country here to chat to! 😀
 
I never thought to check out boards like this before but I have to say that I love chatting to other Buffy fans across the world cause even though we are all thousands of miles away from each other, it seems like we are a bunch of all granny's who love having a good chat! It's great knowing there are other people at your wave length about cause everyone I ever talk to ain't. They are all stuck in reality. To me, watching, chatting, reading + texting about Buffy is my little dream world and when people tell me "Your not watching Buffy tonight", I go mental cause I have to go back to the reality of dumb mates, schoolwork and family. None of us know each other but it feels like we do - that's one of the great things about the internet... Connecting People
 
I'm a yukker and proud of it... ahhh for the glory days of the duck but times change and people grow 😀

Woo Hoo Riley Finn is the man for me in that quiz thing... sorry, nattering... almost 2003.. .it's amazing that time passes and another year approaches, another year of the same old, same old...

But no... there are plenty of other worldlies in this lil maze, we Yukkers call home 🙂
 
I'm the Dutch guy 😀 and this is one of the biggest, according to my sources, very much my little dreamworld as well!

Yup the only big BUK site was buffyuk.org, but the owener gave it up and now there is another site, less buffy orintated but we still meet up at conventions and at planned meets.

I have no idea why there is so many yukkers here, I always figured there were more americans. Not that it really matters as we are all here for the same reason 🙂
 
Ahhh Faith she likes the Duck alter ego so those personality supressing pills have been thrown aside so the duck may once again surface.... 🙂

But still, I tend to think there's more Yukkers here then yanks.... don't know how it happened... must be that charisma of Willows, drawing the men in with her female charm and finesse 😀

I'm really tempted to make a joke about ducks and rhyming slang for yanks but I won't...family orientated, I must remember 😉 And Faith honey I didn't encourage him, you know the schizophrenic duck/lin/etc. There's is something wrong however, he's trying to charm me. What have you done wrong now Lin?

Edit: he is right however, I do believe there is a member I introduced, a taxi driver, who said I reminded him of Willow, so I got into a drunken diatribe about BB and told him to sign up. My two mates thought I was completely mad and I'm not sure if he ever did join though.... 😉

I also assumed there were more Americans here than Brits (and other countries). Not that it matters to me either way!😀
 
Its very strange hearing people still being referred to as yukkers after all these years 🙂 and I hope Faith doesn't slap me for moonlighting! 😱 but in answer to your question.

I must admit that I tend to wander around many different sites as I like to mingle though, so it doesn't matter to me which part of the world everyone is from. In fact I think the more varied the better as you get different news viewpoints (as long as everyone remember spoiler stuff affects many countries as I believe Holland is behind the UK for example)

Tangent21 originated from a group of people who were originally staff on buffyuk.org that had been planning a general UK scifi site.

OK there used to be 2 different categories for Buffy fans.

Bronzers were fans from the Bronze on the official website buffy.com so you had bronzers (US fans) and then uk bronzers (uk users of the site)

Yukkers became the term known for buffyuk.org users after the then site owner managed to grab an interview with David Boreanaz in 2000 and he was talking about "buffy uk'ers" (as in UK fans) but garbled his words and the term came out as "yukkers"

Lmao how come I never knew it as that specific, but I remember all the excitement when they got the interview. Now I've just got to figure out the who's who......
 
What confuses me more is that so many people have changed their identities over the years ... at the moment I'm still me everywhere I go (maybe that just makes me incredibly boring 😉 )
 
Hehe just a form of continuity to make it easier for us. All I can say is I'm glad the space_duck changed his name!! (you know who you are sweetie 😛 )
