This happens mainly in series 2 than series 1 and 3,but angel doesn't breathe being that he's a vampire and all,yet when you see him walking in the dark,he (i don't know the medical or technical name for this so bare with me) he breathes,and you can see it becouse of what looks like cigarette smoke coming out of his mouth into the cold atmosphere,like it happens to all of us in the day and night when it's cold,but it shouldn't happen to him becouse of him not breathing and all,still like i said and unavoidable mistake,but i thought it was worth mentioning.
 
I don't think vampires breathing is really a glitch. If anything, the glitch was when Angel said "I have no breath." Look at Spike, he smokes! What always gets me is when people complain about seeing vampires' breath, but they fail to realize that a non-breathing thing can't smoke!

What bothers me is, in the beginning (Season 1 of Buffy) Angel said he doesn't have any breath. Then it's as if the writers change their minds and say they can breathe, but they don't have to. I think the whole breathing issue is the hugest annoyance to me about Buffy/Angel. The actors shouldn't do it so loud! I get so fusturated when I see them huffin' and puffin'.
 
I (we) know that, but Joss should have realized that and shouldn't have given that line to Angel, or he should have been a little more specific on the subject!
 
Frankly the whole breathing thing has never really bothered me. When I read the explanation in the Watchers Guide I simply accepted their explanation and moved on. In my opinion, their explanation is totally plausible. 😉
 
They probably wanted Xander to be the one to revive Buffy, probably for When She Was Bad, and if they didn't give that line to Angel there would be no reason for Angel to not just revive her. 🙂

Plus it was in Season 1, so they weren't planning as much for the future, if you get what I mean. 😉 I remember in the episode Angel, The Master said something like: "Angel. He was the most vicious creature I ever met. I miss him." But in Angel Season 2, the flashback to when Angelus met The Master showed he wasn't actually that fond of him. 😛 (And why would The Master call him Angel anyway, wouldn't he refer to him as 'Angelus'?)
 
Angel is good! the Master is evil! that's why he think Angel is the most vicious! ... Angelus however, wasn't much special .... well not at first at least!

Correct. Like stated before, the actors can't just stop breathing, but when we see Spike smoke, I think the point the writers are trying to show is even though smoking takes having to breathe, the breath Spike is taking doesn't do anything for him. Meaning, as humans we all live and breathe and take in oxygen, which keeps our heart and blood moving. For Spike, oxygen doesn't do anything for his body since he's already dead. Plus, it's probably just reflex. 😉
 
Would you notice? ... If in the train next to you a pale young man sits himself down, and he wouldn't breathe? ... I don't think I'd notice!
 
But that is because he's not supossed to, it's kinda different, if you're sitting in the subway, you don't go around spitting out all the details, but you do with B/A!
 
Didnt he just say vampires dont need to breathe? Never said they dont? I dun remember 😀
