Undertones in Smiletime

Me too... I thought it was freakin' hilarious! 😀 I've seen online where you can buy replicas of the Angel puppet, but none of the ones I've seen have the vampire face... I want his vamp face puppet. 😀

FRRRREAKING hilarious in general!the moment Spike enters the office and sees Angel for the first time as a puppet...just the look on his face!!!and then Spike fights with ...puppet Angel???and Angel can manage to hold his own???hahahahahahahahaha!!!

when i saw the come and here and touch scene...i didn't think it at first until i saw this thread...well it's disturbing,maybe they want to convict this horrible action...and actually the big smile on the kids' faces was what freaked me out actually,it was scary!

But overall...i laughed my ass off!!!ANGEL is cute!!!my looooove!!!
 
Yes it is quite disturbing, and I think it was done on purpose. However, I am okay with this. I like my badguys to be really really bad. If the demons never do anything that doesn't have a PG rating, then they don't really deserve to die, they are just different-looking.
 
That's true... I guess, though, that is a sensitive subject with me (as somone who was molested as a child), so I don't like those undertones very much and watching this ep makes me uncomfortable sometimes. 🙁

Strangely i can't remember this, i probably have noticed it before, but not really thought about it that much.
hmmmm, i think they probably did that on purpose, it's not meant for kids anyways. It's like a 15 or w.e.
 
That's true, Tasha... "Angel" is definitely not a kids' show. But still... Those scenes where Pollo is trying to get the kids to touch the screen gross me out. 🙁
 
It was so creepy! I can't believe that little kid's parents didn't burst in wondering what the hell their child was watching.
 
Agreed. you'd think the parents would have heard the puppet snarling "COME TOUCH IT!"
Yes, Angel is definitley not a kid's show. The puppet was FREAKY when he was sucking the power from the kid. I've got to admitt when he started making those noises, I was thinking that it was sexual in a creepy creppy way. I know that when he said come touch it, he meant the screen but that could be taken in other ways as well.

I love this episode, but I always thought it was once of the creepiest ones for just that reason. It seems to me like that's how it was meant... nothing builds creepiness like child molesting. I think that's part of the reason puppets were used... otherwise, it might have turned into an incredibly dark episode. Darker, that is.
 
I definitely do remember it being extremely sexual each and every time I've watched it. And it almost turns into one of those scenes where I grow visibly uncomfortable if others are watching it with me.

Yet, in spite of this, it's all worth it for eyebrow/vampire/puppet angel face at the end.:nibble6:
 
Weird. I never saw it like that until I read this topic. It was creepy enough for me with these hell puppets hahaha =P

But that episode is so awesome! My two favorite moments are the slow-mo of puppet Angel with his sword and Fred and Wesley behind, and then the moment puppet Angel become a vampire to finish Polo, HAHAHAHA! That was amazing!
 
I agree it had definite sexual undertones, and was extremely uncomfortable at points. But the worst ep for me was Touched, that is extremely difficult to watch.

Exactly!! My dad walked in one time when I was watching it when we still lived in his house and I was sooooooo embarassed.

There are some eps I just can't watch with other people and as fun and light as this one is, it's so... un-fun and un-light that it is pretty uncomfortable-making.

...I'm not sure if that made sense.

Not that I totally agree with this but that last part made laugh =P
I think I understand what you are saying, like it seems like this fun, feel good ep, but part of it is extremely so therefore uncomfortableness ensues. Am I right? lol
