What do you as a vampire-tv-show-fan think about Underworld?

I love it, I saw last week Underworld-Awakening and can't get it out of my head! Cool action, nice story. Any other, same opinions?

Kate Beckinsale is the most beautiful woman on the planet. So I bet it was the greatest movie ever!!!

I saw these before I discovered Buffy. I'm looking forward to seeing another interpretation of the vampire genre. BTW, do these vamps glitter?

Ha! No glittering!! ;)
Yes, I agree Kate Beckinsale is incredibly beautiful, I'm not that into of vampire movies, I saw the first Underworld movie when it came but I didn't like it back then.. and then I saw Underworld: Rise of The Lycans recently which I thought was ok. some parts were kinda silly but I definitely enjoyed the action in it. So I'm gonna see the other films eventually.

Do this, they are great and the action gets better and better with every film!
I like the action and the idea of the centuries old war between vampires and werewolves. The fact that both sides have managed to perfect, modify, and utilize modern technology, particularly the firearms and special ammunition, in their battles, only makes sense. I prefer werewolves who can control their change and pretty much keep their human personality once changed. And the added bonus of a hot lady in a skin tight leather suit and a small arsenal concealed under a leather trench coat is a great final touch. Now, of they could have figured out a way to work in some legitimate martial arts sequences, it would have been perfect.

I love these movies!! I like how they are kind of modernized with their weaponry, and the twists of vamps vs. lychens. The mostly stick to "traditional" lore while putting their own twists on it. The action sequences are pretty sweet. Very entertaining!

I remember when the first one came out my mom was like, "I think you'd like that movie..." haha anything related to vampires or "darkness", my mother would recommend that I see it. I remember when Blood and Chocolate came out she said, "Oh! You love blood and chocolate!" Yeah, sure mom. Anyway, I did see Underworld and I liked it. I've seen the first two, but the second one didn't really hold my attention. They're enjoyable movies and I have the first one on my DVR right now because I don't remember what the story's about and I kind of want to catch up.

Holy Crap. The new movie is INSANE! Talk about amping it up! More of everything. More action, more serious ass kicking, more gore! Seline is one of the most bad ass charcters ever. I mean, I've been trying to think....who could beat her? Kate Beckinsale was made for this role. She's beautiful, a perfect killer, cold but still likable.

This movie is not for the faint of heart! Wanted to cover my eyes a few times. I'll spare you the details. Overall, I love all the Underworld movies and am happy they seem to have been able to continue the story on even after the most recent movie.

Epic battle stories between vampires, werewolves, and humans will never die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😀😀

Selene is practically every bit the goddess she's named after at this point :D
I've watched all the films except Rise of the Lycans. I love the films, they have great action and just enough romance in them as well. I'm glad that there is a possibility for more films.

The fight scenes in the latest film were amazing, the storyline was really good as well, there was a very interesting twist that I didnt see coming. I'd definately recomend watching it.

RotL is pretty good, it expands quite a bit on the Sonya/Lucian story
I loved all films but I missed the guns in "Rise of the lycans"! Don't know why but I really, really missed them. 🙂

Never the same without the Beretta's
I thought the girl looked a little like the girl from the Exorcist 🙂

For those few that have watched Lost Girl, did you notice that the werewolf in that plays the werewolf in Underworld Awakening 🙂

I love the Underworld movies, I didn't think I would when I first watched them but I really do. I love the vampire/lycan tale and the rich backstory to the movies.
I think they're a great interpretation of vampires and werewolves and very enjoyably made (not to mention well-casted, I swoon over Kate Beckinsale as many above seems to too but it was a stroke of genius to make Underworld 3 in my opinion, mmmm Lucian.... lots and lots of Lucian)

I love the movies, and have been a fan of them for nearly 8 years now. I've been on a binge of buying up UW merchandise since seeing Awakening in 3D a few weeks ago. I watched the Extended/Uncut version of the first film only a couple of hours ago.

Since Awakening passed the $130 million mark needed by Sony to greenlight another, and Speedman has been confirmed to return to his full role as Michael (instead of the digital face scans he did for this one) it's safe to assume the 5th will come out Jan 20th 2015, I already can't wait.

I really hope this does go ahead and seeing Scott Speedman reprise his role would be great. That was the only thing I thought was missing from this film, although it was explained really well why he wasnt.

I really want to watch Rise of the Lycans as well. I think they did an excellent job casting Sonja because she does really have a look of Selene, which continues the storyline of why Seline was turned by Viktor in the first place.

Yup, the original actress who played Sonya (no offense to her) just did not convay who and what Sonya was meant to be. Most importantly, looking nothing like Selene for Viktor to have stopped at the sight of her.

Rhona was a much better choice and when watching the three films back to back, reminds you instantly of Selene, while still being very much a distinct character in her own right.

It makes far more sense from the stand point of Lucian and Viktor, why she had the effect she did on both of them. And hits home how initially the Selene/Michael part of the story was history repeating itself. Only this time, the child survives, Eve is the breaking of the chain and the start of something new.

To make a confession here, I never liked either Speedman or Michael, still kind of don't. But I've grown accustomed to them together and can't wait for the big happy family reunion in 5.

His role in the 4th was so short that when he got the script he decided that other work took priority so they took the CGI scans from Evolution and put him in that way, but he is committed to doing a full role in 5. Not sure how to feel about that, but then again we have David and Sebastian now as well.

I saw "Awakening" In theaters, in 3-D

AMAZING!

I had only seen the original one before, but now I've managed to buy the others ones. My friend wanted a description of it, and I think i said something about it being "Buffy but much, much more violent."

I love these films, although my favourite has to be the prequel, rise of the lycans, it's awesome!

AMAZING!

The number of times me or someone else in the audience swiped at a bit of dust flying around that was actually on the screen, yeah, the 3D was amazing.

First film I've ever seen in 3D too, but still only managed to jump once, whereas the poor girl behind me hid behind her boyfriend for over an hour.

I loved the first 2 movies. Then I found Rise of the Lycans pretty boring... But I have high hopes for the new movie. I'll probably see it in the next month or so.
