Underworld

Can anyone tell me what the Werewolves/Lycans are like in this movie? (I don't think that 'Lycan' is a word, but it was used in the earlier trailers. Maybe they mean 'Lycanthrope'...) Did they control their transformation, or was it like a full moon/curse type thing? I am guessing they can control it since they are in some kind of civilization, but I don't know. Can someone please tell me? I am wondering if I should see this movie...
 
I'm sure Lycan was a way to shorten lycanthrope. Better than calling them werewolves imo.

Selene explains that the older ones have learned to control the transformation, so the moon doesn't control them anymore. A new werewolf would not be able to control it without the use of a drug they have that slows the change. When they do change, the don't look like wolves than can just walk but are more monstrous. I'd liken them a bit to how they're portrayed in the Howling movies. Then can fight upright or run on all fours.

You should definitely see this movie lol
 
Yeah, that sounds cool. I have heard 'Lycanthrope' mean a lot of different things, so I was just wondering. The only problem is that none of my friends are into the whole fantasy/horror thing (I don't even know anyone who watches Buffy besides the wierd Goth chicks. 😱 ), so I am going to have to wait until it comes out on video or go alone. I am sure that I will see it eventually, though.
 
lol! Definatly agreed on the Scott Speedman! That's another thing I liked about Underworld..it had alot unknown(at least, to me) Actors/Actresses.
 
They're suposed to be making a sequel and a prequel, but don't know if everyone's going to sign on again or not
