Hi,

In the episode Welcome to the Hellmouth why did Angel give Buffy a cross (that silver necklace) if he knew she was a Slayer (and probably had hundreds of them) ?

It was a really nice cross and I know I never complain when people give me nice things. Maybe Angel was trying to build up trust with Buffy?

Although, we never really see Buffy with any other crosses. Maybe he just wanted to build up trust, he fancied her and all.

Because he knew she would wear it. Then if it was vampy situation, like vamps too close, they'll get burned.

:: red dev :: red dev NO! your wrong! Its because he knew she would wear it. Then if it was vampy situation, like vamps too close, they'll get burned. :: red dev

He was trying to show her he was on the same side as her. Angel would have needed to build at least a working relationship with Buffy for when she found out he was a vampire. If he hadn't made an effort with her she would have just killed him when she found out what he was.

I always thought it was something Joss through in so we'd all know that it was Angel's first gift to Buffy and that made it special.

Probably as an act of friendship. You know, I'm a vamp- you're a slayer- please dont kill me thing?
