He was a character in "Bride Of Frankenstein" according to the Google I just did 🙂 Not to mention that he was a character voiced by the wonderful Tim Curry in the cartoon version of "The Mask"

Talking of unknown horror movies...can someone remind me of the title of the vampire film starring Lance Henrikson (Spelling? you know - the thin, gaunt guy from Millenium) where he is the head of a clan of American vamps who entice a clean cut lad into their wicked ways? I seem to remember a bus or camper van with blacked out windows similar to the one in the Buffy S5 ep (name escapes me again!😉)

Whoa. I have definitely been out of the loop. I had no idea that there was a Silent Hill movie in the works! Can I just say, 'excited, am I?' That's just too much right there. I can't remember which ones the 'walkers' were. I'll have to play that one again too! (I just purchased the Greatest Hits version so I could play the part where you can control Maria.)

And now with this massive movie list that's got me jonesing to head out to the rental stores, especially in addition to Old Master III's really enticing summaries.. I should really set up a horror flick night.

Good call, Mr. Pointy. The movie you are thinking about is the very underrated NEAR DARK (1987), which also starred Bill Paxton. The movie never really got the recognition it deserved, but it's gained cult status in the ensuing years.

Continuing my list, here's another obscure one. This movie for some reason is VERY difficult to find on either VHS or DVD. I was only able to see it on a bootleg tape a friend lent me......

EYES TO HEAVEN (2000) - A VERY odd and VERY disturbing art house horror flick concerning a cadre of interdimensional beings residing in a dark forest, who are known as "Feeders". These creatures feed on both the life force and the blood of humans.
There was a DARK HORSE comic that was made as a tie-in to this movie (written as a prequel to the film) entitled Feeders, written by Shane Hawks (who also wrote and directed the flick) with art by Mike Allred. Alas, this comic is ALSO very difficult to find.

😀 They've been keeping it very quiet. In fact, they've been filming it under the title Centralia, to throw SH fans off the scent. The name's an in-joke: Centralia, you Bill Bryson readers might recall, is the real life town in Pennsylvania that no longer appears on modern maps. A fire in 1962 caught the coal seam the town was built on; authorities didn't move fast enough, and the fire spread in all directions underground. The town whistled and carried on like nothing was happening. In the eighties, the earth started collapsing under startled townspeople, and the Government bought them town out - cheaper than trying to put out the fire. There are no feasable plans to put out the fire, and there's at least another hundred years of fuel down there for it. The thing is... there are at least 20 people still living in the town of Centralia, where chasms open up in the streets overnight, and coalsmoke comes from the graveyard crypts. There are still houses, and still services in the church.

They started filming "Centralia" in Brantford, Canada this month, but locals noticed that the sets were for places like Silent Hill Pharmacy, and Pete's Bowlerama. The plot is, briefly - Rhada Mitchell plays Rose, a mother who refuses to believe that her child really is terminally ill. Against her husband's (Sean Bean Baby!) wishes, she decides to drive her daughter to a faith healer. Along the way, she gets lost. The girl runs off into the fog, and Rose follows her into the town of Silent Hill. You can see pictures of the set at http://www.horror-movies.ca/gallery27.htm

And after all this ranting, I forgot to mention Session 9, which is a terrific obscure horror movie set in Danvers State Mental Hospital, the only real-life place more fascinating than Centralia. Danvers is considered the spiritual home of the medical lobotomy.
