Wow nobody likes Kendra. I love her. (I know everybody's all Team Faith but dam lol) I don't like her pants though, and her accents a little weird...idk maybe they talk like that in Jamaica, I'm used to those NYC Jamaicans lol. But yea Kendras cool. Buffy was being so bitchy in this episode...it's okay though. Buffy and Angel are so cute...so are Spike and Dru...in a evil sort of way. I love Xander and Cordys scene in the basement. Oz is so funny when Buffy attacks him and also when he gets shot. Kendra was whooping Angels ass lol. Oh and I love the part when Spike is like "Who the he'll are you?" And their like "Two Slayers" And when they switch and he's like "I much rather be fighting you" If he wasn't all crippled after this I wonder if he would have tried to hunt down both slayers, you know to out do himself. I also like when she hit him with that...thing. Yes Buffy you are good (But poor Spike) Actually I just love that whole fight scene lol. And Buffy and Kendra at the end was cute. There should have been more of her. (sorry team faith lol)
 
Hey guys, I'm sorry, but I don't know when I'm gonna be able to get all my thoughts down/catch up. I'm having a rough patch in my emotional state, so I'm kinda just going on a day-to-day basis without trying to get upset.

Thoughts on "Ted":

This episode"¦ugh"¦ticks me off. Not the concept of the episode or the theme, those I actually like (or don't mind). It's more the execution.

For starters, Buffy's decisions in the first two acts of this episode boggle the mind a bit. I know she's a teenager, but she's not a little kid, and she's proven how much she can handle. If Ted had threatened me like that on the golf course I would have either hit him or gone to my Mom immediately. Either way a scene would have been caused, and an ultimatum posed. I mean, if you're Buffy, your own personal safety aside, as soon as he said that would you have wanted your Mom with that guy? No. Chance. And when she does tell her Mom, and her Mom doesn't believe her, she essentially just lets it go. Oh, I would have been pissed. Beyond pissed.

Which leads me to my next complaint. Is Joyce one of the worst supposedly "good" parents of all time? Seriously, the amount she screws up or just doesn't seem to get is staggering. I know she's eating Ted's drugged food, but so were Willow and Xander, and they both listened to Buffy ("Hey, we can do that thing anytime. I'm tired of doing that thing. We're on." That whole scene was priceless). So obviously those cookies can be overcome. Joyce just chooses to ignore her own daughter when she's telling her a guy is threatening her. Not only that, but calls her a liar. That's, to put it bluntly, inexcusable. Everything that happens from that point on is essentially Joyce's fault. That got me thinking back to some of the conversations she's had with Buffy since the beginning of the series and she's always harping on Buffy, making her feel guilty for Joyce being a single Mom, constantly reminding her of the mistakes she's made. That's pretty bad.

Oh, and Giles takes a shot from a crossbow and just gets up? Wow, he's a LOT tougher than I thought he was. Seriously, from that range a crossbow would rip you in half (and don't get me started on the sheer stupidity of using crossbows in close combat at all"¦).

Not a horrible episode, but there's so much about it that just pisses me off it's hard to enjoy. I felt horrible for Buffy the whole way through, but angry at her at the same time for the way she handled, or didn't handle, things. If she'd used her head things never would have gotten as far as they did.
 
Ted:

I remember that I liked this episode when I first watched it.

I'm positive that it's because of John Ritter. I loved Three's Company, and I remember hearing about when he died, which was kind of a big deal because I think that it was when there were a lot of reruns of Three's Company on TV, so it was rather memorable. Not "remember exactly where I was" memorable, but still memorable.

On this watch... the episode is kind of meh. I actually haven't watched it since I watched it through first time, and it's just one of those kind of okay episodes that doesn't really do much of anything, except for one of my favorite lines: "It seems that the subtext is rapidly becoming, uh... text."

Also, because I'm me (and for other valid reasons), I kept thinking of Faith during this episode. First time was the mention of the mini golf course, for what should be obvious reasons. The other thing that reminded me of her, well...

Okay, this episode cops out of a pretty big idea: what happens when a Slayer accidentally kills someone. Sure, it kind of almost happens, but they abandoned it because it would've been too much and overwhelmed the rest of the season more than likely. They put off going down that road for a significant amount of time, but when they went back to it with Faith, they were able to fully commit to the idea and build the season's storyline around it, so... yeah, this episode kind of doesn't work because they take a big idea and do nothing with it, but I'm glad that they decided to put that off.

Also, as someone in the podcasts pointed out, David Greenwalt is an expert with the goofy premises.
 
Ok no. I know Ted is just a robot but it still makes me mad how he just comes out of nowhere tryna play daddy, budding into Buffy and Joyces arguments etc. Its none of his bussiness. And then he threatened her. Buffys better then me cause I would have made a whole big thing of it right then and there. Dont you just love the "I was so hoping you would do that" part. Yea Buffy kick his ass. Lol
 
"Ted" is one of two episodes I consider unwatchable (the other is "Normal Again"). Joyce glossing over the threat is horrendous, but then this is not out of the realm of reality - psycho stepparents are not that unusual. Joyce seems to be clueless about parenting and it gets worse later when Buffy is thrown out of the house and then the big party is held when she returns. But she is not the worst parent in the series - that honour is reserved for Willow's mother.

I think Xander's dad is a bit worse... agree about Joyce, however.
I'm one of the few people that actually really loves the episode "Ted". I actually thought the storyline was interesting. I love how Buffy stands up to him and he finally gets his in the end. Joyce absolutely annoyed me throughout the whole episode though. Especially when Buffy tells her that Ted threatened to hit her and she doesn't believe her. If my child said that to me, I would certainly take them seriously.
 
Something to remember: the rewatch is going on hiatus until the official one catches up with us. Luckily, that should only take a week or two.

That said, Bad Eggs.

Season Two has some pointless episodes. This is one of them.

The only real reaction this episode gets out of me is that the little hatchling things bug the hell out of me. I'm deathly afraid of pretty much every arthropod or anything that looks like one, so those kind of freak me out, especially the scene where the tentacles or whatever those are touch Buffy on the face while she's sleeping. That's straight out of one of my nightmares.

Also, I like the Gorch brothers, or whatever they really are (it's kind of implied that they aren't brothers), though they're kind of shoved into the story without any real reason and it doesn't make sense why they're there by the end of the episode. They're a bit more interesting when they come back later on in the series (well, one of them does), but they're kind of nothing here once everything is over.

Really, there's almost nothing here to talk about that I can remember, and maybe that's the worst thing about this episode. It's not even bad enough to be completely laughable.

One last thought: David Boreanaz had the best job in the world for this episode. Seriously.

Bad Eggs is actually one of my favorite episodes. I'm very much in the minority on that one, but I just think it's a fun episode and I don't take it too seriously. I think the main reason I like it is because of the hatchlings. Like you said, they are extremely freaky. I do not do creepy crawlies whatsoever. I remember being so grossed out by those things when I first saw the episode, and I honestly still am. 😛
 
Finished rewatching the High School Era a few days ago. I like the first 3 seasons the best, simply because of the portrayal of the original 4's friendship - Buffy, Willow, Xander & Giles. I love Buffy most for its characters and they were never so close again after the High School Era. Which makes me sad. To see them grow apart in the later seasons. High School portrayed their deep, close and honest friendship best.
 
Part of the problem is it takes so long to get through the whole series doing 2 eps a week. Another is interest because people don't stick with it. The staff's been working on trying to set up constant monthly rewatches of all the seasons at one time so people can jump in at any time, but logistically and interest wise I'm not sure it would work.
