I'm weird. I could go on about this, but I'll list two things that many know about me that is considered odd, but should be trivial enough to be inoffensive, uncontroversial, and not disturbing/morbid/depressing.

I think old & reliable is better than new and fashionable, as in superior, or at least not worth the the frills that come with the new. I'd be willing to spend more money (and have in the past) to get something in relatively good shape made 20 years ago (sometimes much older than that) than I would for something fresh off an assembly line, including phones, computers, and vehicles. Not out of any sentiment, but because I think it's genuinely better in almost every way (as a bonus, it's often cheaper as well).

Also, I'm old school on holiday decorations (may not be as impressive as others, but I'm okay with that, and also glad that I don't have to worry about them being stolen as others who went all out have experienced).

Finally, I like beets and Brussels sprouts. Even when plain without any type of seasoning or dressing. That's not to say I dislike food that many others consider good.

Yeah I think a lot of people would agree with you about season 5. Personally even though 6 is my least favourite I much prefer Chosen as an ending over The Gift especially if I only focus on the metaphor which is what Buffy is all about.

I agree that the story ending with season 5 would have been perfect, but since I've seen what comes after, I would not want to lose some awesome episodes and moments we got past 'The Gift'. 😉

I agree about the MCU. I'm not big on superheroes, but I will admit there were a few good ones in there. At this point, though, it's oversatured. I wish they'd move on to a new fad.

Although I agree that holidays are more commercialized now than before, Christmas is still super special for me. 🙂 My best childhood memories tend to be connected to Christmas, so I'm biased.

I agree with above about Christmas being too commercial. But I love Christmas music! Four radio stations (soon to be five) are already playing it, and I'm loving it! I'll be loading more on my iPod (yes, I still have one) soon, but I do have the decency to wait till after Thanksgiving for that.

I love buying and owning physical media, which many people find really weird in today's streaming age.

Avocado is tasteless and really only good for guacamole. Adding it to sandwiches and salads just ruins them.

Kubrick's The Shining is extremely overrated and not at all scary and Jack Nicholson's performance is over-hyped. Doctor Sleep is the superior Shining-Verse adaptation.

I hate Christmas. My personal hell is sitting with the extended step family outside on a stinking hot day eating dodgy food with a side of flies. I am so massively relieved that I never ever have to do it again. Cant ever really escape it though. My thoughts on the consumeristic culture of it has been shared many times here over the years haha.

Totally agree with @RachM - winter is always better than summer!

-Soccer is a horrible sport and I already can't wait for people to shut up about the stupid World Cup. Boxing, (American and/or Canadian) football, baseball, hockey, lacrosse, basketball, MMA, kickboxing, bare knuckle boxing. These are much better sports.

-Christopher Nolan is a hack. I haven't seen all of his movies, but all the ones I have seen suck.

-You can count the number of good James Bond films on one hand and none of them were released in this century

-Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation is the best vocalist on the planet

-Shemp was just as funny as Curly, and funnier than Moe or Larry

-There is only one good Halloween film and it was the first one

-Modern video game consoles are more trouble than they're worth. Charge the damn controllers, log in to an account, update the console, install the game, update the game. By now you're 45 minutes into the ordeal and then they want you to make another stupid account of some kind and then sit through a mandatory hour long tutorial mission. Compare that to my SEGA Genesis where I hit the power button and am playing Sonic 2 just a few seconds later.

-Don Bluth is the greatest animator and animation director in history. Best known for The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Titan AE, Anastasia, and The Land Before Time. Also made the video games Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, and Dragon's Lair II. I'd put him well above Walt Disney and right there with Hayao Miyazaki.

I love Christmas. It reminds people to be more charitable and they’re generally just happier and pleasant. It is a wonderful time of the year.

Cheesy Christmas movies, Hallmark or otherwise, are the bees knees. Yeah, they’re formulaic and saccharine, what of it?

That person Mr. D. Trump says there is a witch hunt against him. As far as I have been led to believe America is full of people who claim to be religious. So why do people vote for a person who is by his own definition a witch.

- Having been exposed to 'the big 3' American sports I can safely say they are the most boring, over-rated sports worldwide. Basketball is simply netball with cheating, American Football is rugby for men afraid of getting an ouchie and baseball...baseball might be the most boring sport ever devised; all the fans seem to go on about is 'the statistics' endlessly because, at heart, its a kid's game (rounders) taken way too seriously. And yet its obsessed over by millions.
And who calls something 'the world series' when only Americans play the damn thing. When other sports have a 'world tournament/cup' countries play other countries, that's how that works. 😛

- Sprouts, cooked properly, are the best vegetable. Also nothing good can be done with Kale; stop making Kale a thing, its crap salad.

- On a related note; cooking lessons should be mandatory in all schools from a reasonable young age. Being able to feed yourself is the most basic thing in life, survival, anything. Learning to eat well and healthily is so important in life.

- All under 18's should be blocked from social media; it would help eliminate the escalating mental health crisis Gen Z is clearly developing.

American and Canadian sports refer to their championships as "world championships" because every other league in the world acts as a feeder league to the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB.

It would be nonsensical for the best team in MLB to play a team from Japan or Mexico because all the best players from Nippon Pro Baseball and the Mexican League get drafted or signed by MLB teams at the end of every season.

The worst team in Major League Baseball would absolutely annihilate the best team in the second best league in the world, which is Nippon Pro Baseball.

The same goes for hockey. You could make an all-star team of the 25 best players on the planet outside the NHL, and the worst team in the NHL would crush them 99 times out of 100.

Contrast this with soccer, where the best players in the world are scattered between several teams in several different leagues. Some are in the Engilsh Premier League, some are in Bundesliga, some are in Serie A, some are in La Liga, etc.

Basically, with US/Canadian sports, there are 30 to 32 teams per league and the respective rosters of those leagues contain all the best players in those sports that are alive today. If you took every single soccer league in the world and picked the ~400 best players and made several all star teams out of them, that would be the soccer equivalent of what the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB are.

You and I somewhat agree. To me, The Shining isn't a bad movie. But it is a bad adaptation. And when people try and take me to task for it, I point out that Stephen King disliked it as well.
