It seems we reached the limit on the old thread, so here we are to fill another one with our controversial, even outrageous opinions. You know the drill.

Some new opinions:

I think that OMWF and Tabula Rasa are good, but overrated.

I think that the Scoobies' actions in Empty Places were completely justified, I was cheering them on. I lol'd at "Ding dong, the bitch is dead". I do not have a single ounce of sympathy for Buffy during that mini-arc.

Carried over from the old thread:

I never liked Riley. Thought it was way to creepy and macho that he wanted to "take care of" Buffy and that he used that as an excuse to go to that place with the bloodsucking vamps.

Yeah, that opinion is not really that controversial. 😛

I think Angel is really lame and way to whiny. And kind of ugly too. I liked him in some episodes, but mostly he just annoyed me.

But that one is! Have you watched AtS?

EDIT2: I just thought of one! Rohna!!! But then again, who doesn't hate her?

It's a mathematical impossibilty to be able to like Rhona/Rona/Rohna.

Cordelia going evil was, to me, an improvement. The only thing that would've made it better is if instead of squaring off against Jasmine at the end of S4, they just squared off against Cordy instead.

Continuing on the above I wouldn't say that I'm totally on the scoobies and potentials side. I think they took it too far. But that they needed to "talk" to Buffy was clear in my mind. They just didn't do it right.

Since I have a lousy memory I might repeat myself.

Season 5 of Angel was for a long time my favourite Angel season. Now I'm not sure which is but season 5 is in the running.

Spike is a lot better in Angel than he was the last seasons on Buffy.

Faith fitted way better in L.A. with team A.I. than in Sunnydale and with the scoobies. I like her a lot better in season 4 of Angel than in season 7 of Buffy.

White and nerdy. Andrew is awesome. Period.

And probably a lot more. But since I should have mentioned Dawn, Connor and the potentials before I'll leave it for now.

I thought I was the only one who hated Buffy in Empty Places! It's not like the Scoobies ambushed her and threw her out without her permission or anything. She came up with a god-awful plan (actually the exact same one that got Xander injured and Molly killed), and they just wanted her to calm down and allow them some input. She threw a hissy fit because dared to question her authority, and gave an ultimatum - either they do exactly as she says without question or she leaves. So they let her leave. Faith even apologised for it, even though it wasn't her fault at all and Buffy had been a complete bitch to her since her return, and got smacked in the face by Spike for her trouble.

Yeah, I hate S7 Buffy. She was exactly like S1-5 Buffy, except with all her good traits toned down and all her bad traits massively increased. She was a self-righteous, superior, self-centred bitch who treated her friends like slaves. It says a lot for Faith's personal growth that she didn't hit Buffy back in that alley. I wouldn't have had the self-control to not stab her in the face.

I almost makes me yearn for S6. Almost.

But that one is! Have you watched AtS?

No, I haven't. Maybe that has something to do with it. I will soon though. Maybe I will have a change of heart. 🙂

You should watch AtS. I was pretty "meh" on Angel when he was in Buffy, but after AtS he became my joint-favourite character. He's much more entertaining in his own show.


Also, I rewatched WTTHM earlier today, and I have to say that Jesse was a creepy stalkery asshat, and I'm glad he was killed.

Also, The Pack isn't a very good episode, I don't get the hype for it.

And I've heard a lot of hate for "Anne". I thought it was a brilliant episode, I loved it. You know what, I'm gonna watch it right now.

They were just being petty. Xander was being petty for feeling traumatized after losing an eye and they were all petty for wanting to know what they were going to look for before they risked more casualties.

It also cracked me up that Buffy would go on about how she had all the power and then wonder why the potentials were scared out of their minds...Uh, 'cause they had no power and you kept reminding them of it?

Faith certainly showed more restraint than she would have before. And of course Spike smacked her, Buffy's feelings were hurt!

And he tried to brush it off by saying that there are always casualties in war. I'm no soldier but I would think that you don't try your best to accumulate them.

Do people generally like it? I don't like Brendan when he tries to act "bad". It doesn't work for me.

I don't like Doyle, not one bit. I thought he sucked & I was very glad when he was killed off. When I rewatch now, I don't watch it 'till after he is gone.

That's a tricky episode. I wouldn't say either opinion is unpopular. You can find lots of people on either side. (I'm on Buffy's side in that one)

I completely agree with those statements. I always wished Faith would have been a regular on AtS during Season 5...

Speaking of Faith, I personally wish Buffy had simply killed her at the end of Graduation Day. Her redemption storyline never made any sense to me.

Her transition from accidental kill to working for Mayor Wilkins didn't make sense to me. 😱 Maybe I need to watch season 3 again. (Been planning to do that anyway.)

Spike's actions to Faith in Touched, as well as him in LMPTM, made me hate ensouled him. He had absolutely no reason to hit her, he wasn't there and didn't know what happened. It was completely out of order.

And he tried to brush it off by saying that there are always casualties in war. I'm no soldier but I would think that you don't try your best to accumulate them.

And if common sense has taught me anything, it's that when a plan fails epically, it's not usually a good idea to carry out the exact same plan again. Who was it that said "Insanity is carrying out the same actions and expecting a different outcome"?

I know a lot of people who list it as their favourite S1 episode. I can't see how it can be better than Prophecy Girl or Out of Mind, Out of Sight, but hey, different strokes for different folks.

Oh, and I've just watched Anne. Best season opener, IMO.

EDIT: Evil Cordy is the only thing I don't like about S4. Oh, Connor and Connelia too. But everything else is awesome. Yes, that includes Jasmine.
