I really didn't mind the magicks/drugs theme of season 6. I always thought Willow had an addictive personality and thought it suited her. Sure it was kind of on the nose but still, I got why they went there and though it wasn't fantastic I really don't object to it.
Aww, a relationship blossoming from a strong friendship? I can't see that as gross. Perhaps not interesting to some fans, but gross? 🙁
Seems I'm the only Xander/Spike shipper in this board, so that's probably an unpopular opinion. I think Xander and Spike have an awesome dynamic and have a lot to learn from each other, not to mention the snark!
Buffy and Xander are friends, and that's where it ends. I'm kinda on the edge about Xawn too.
EDIT: In S1/2, I didn't have a problem with Xuffy. That was when they weren't really good friends, just two people who liked hanging out with eachother, but after S3 they were just too good of friends, one of them just had intimate feelings for the other (and I can completely relate). The relationship had nothing to do with intimate or sexual feelings.
Xander/Spike? Why would you ship for something that would never happen?
@TheVoid: I can't and never will believe it. I've watched S3 multiple times, I've never thought they might be feeling something.
I'm rewatching Angel s.1 right now, and am slowly seeing the appeal of Wesley.
I guess I just hated BtVS Wesley.. and the Wesley from later Angel seasons.
lol imo even if 'that one time' might've meant they had an 'encounter', it still doesn't mean they would ever have a relationship. Having sex once (even if that is what happened) does not mean they actually have feelings for eachother, especially since they're vampires.
I don't care if it's canon or not. Them together is interesting. I've read Xander/Spike fanfiction before I started watching the show. Actually if it weren't for those fics I wouldn't have watched BtVS in the first place. Imagine my surprise and disappiontment when I discovered the relationship wasn't canon. lol
Buffy didn't really fall in love with him though. She was just searching for something or someone to love. See: Satsu.

I still disagree, however, I can agree that Spike and Xander had a very interesting relationship throughout the show. I loved that, even though they hated eachother, they could pull together to help their friends if they needed too. And along with this came some funny moments! 🙂 I love in Selfless when that chick says, "is there anyone here who hasn't had sex?" (or something like that) and Spike and Xander look at eachother. 😛 Oh, and in Him, when they make the master plan to steal that guy's jacket.

Rant: I wish something would've happened to Xander in Conversations with Dead People. In Angel, everyone, even the humans, are made out to be players. Or in other words, a big deal in the show. But in Buffy, Xander is blatantly useless. He should've had some dead guy talk to him. Angel? That would've been intense.
EDIT: And maybe Jenny could talk to Giles! OMG!
TheVoid68Jesse should've spoken to Xander, Hallie should've spoken to Anya and Jenny should've spoken to Giles. The episode would've been 3 days long but it would've been worth it.
I like Dru as a character. She came up with some crazy and hilarious lines whilst i think you've got to admire Juliet Landau's acting. To play a character like Drusilla takes an enormous amount of ability and she conveyed it superbly in my opinion.
Dru might not have been one of my favourite characters but i always appreciated her role in the show. Her relationship with Spike in the early seasons was great to watch. Chemistry between the actors was clear and i even think both James and Juliet have said how much they loved working together.
I don't mind Drusilla so much in AtS but in BtVS I actually want to punch my TV whenever she's on. Obviously, I have nothing against Landau and admire her acting abilities but that doesn't stop me not being able to stand her character. The most 'grrr' I get is in Innocence when she goes 'Do it again! Do it again!' and when she has the hissy fit about the flowers in Surprise I think.
When I was in BB:BB I had to write nice things about Drusilla and why she was important to the show and it was a really cruel thing to make someone do! 😛
Tome*the hissy fit about the flowers in Surprise* ARGH!
Ehhhh, sorry Taake, but I just can't stand her. I think she's boring, over the top and it's probably her presence that make me dislike the arc in season 2 when Darla and her are causing mayhem in L.A.

It's funny you say that because I really do. Well, maybe not love, but I can always find something to like in every Whedon thing. And the characters I dislike are usually the big bads that are created for viewers to hate.

But... Bad Bads AREN'T created for the viewers to hate, they're created to stir up the scene and make watching the show exciting... Joss (and most other people) make their villains so that people like them... Right? 😀
I dunno, I love Big Bads and how they challenge the protagonist. :biggrin3:
Eh, there are a lot of characters that I love but don't like. And some that I really don't like/love at all, like Riley. 😀
But your opinion is certainly interesting... I mean, it's like in RL. What are the odds that anyone would like everyone in their school class? Everybody in any group, really. There are some people who are just plain unlikable for whatever reason. 😀
I seriously can't think of one. I dislike the actress that plays Kennedy very much. She definitely has her moments, but ugh. However, I kinda like the character. 🙂 I'd be glad to play a little game if you wanna name more characters! 😛

Well it's not that I dislike the character, I hate how they treat my favorite people! lol Like Holtz. He's such an interesting character, and you really can't blame him for what he did, but I just hate him because he stole Connor! What is his problem?!?
