As the 'entertainment department of humanity' approach their planned movie comeback for the surface folk, I have been reviewing the sci-fi fantasy list that is, according to insiders, reportedly 'leading the pack to say good-bye to the magic movie trilogy'.
The Avatar reboot or continuation to the Avatar film series of James Cameron awaiting that writer (Willy Wisher Sr...or whatever his name is?!) is another example of delayed promises. It seems to insiders that the 'new Hollywood' has tagged Cameron along as they attempt the 'movie tetralogy' to replace the 'trilogy magic' of film as the word quadrology looks on and quintology wonders what is to come. After a decade of waiting for the first Avatar sequel or prequel we fans do not recognize a reboot, a continuation, or any other silliness. Good luck with that, James, and remember if you are still waiting for that good guy writer (Willy Wisher Sr...or whatever his name is) that patience is always with the wise man.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, on behalf of whoever, has been chatting on and off again for the past couple of years about completing the Conan films with a third and final chapter after the reboot flopped remake goes no where and we would be left with three or four films depending on your opinion. This after giving us only a great silence after over 20 years of silence after the finale, Conan the Destroyer, was cancelled (for good?) in the 1990s. I, personally, am left 'speechless' as delays without announcing delays set in.
Another secret comeback plan, according to insiders, is with Star Trek film series though the reboot is four films that have been released, timewise (no pun intended), as a continuation of the ten movies without a pause (except between the reboort films themselves) while they are also part remake of the TV & film series without holding on to most fundamentals, traditions and roots of the arts & crafts related to Star Trek. Meanwhile, a new TV series is launched going into the past in the future with ST: Discovery at a very slow pace indicating to me that Star Trek has ordered an 'all stop' 'put on the brakes and where are the artists that took the reigns from Gene Roddenberry and where is the lead writer, WW Sr...or whatever his name is?!
In the meantime, Star Wars prepares for (with probably more delays or on time for once?) the release of the third part of the third trilogy as we await another 'SW Rogue film' and a Han Solo prequel (to what nobody dares ask). It is like SW is ready for anything as it is forced out of the trilogy root with no real goal or full circle story. With such a powerful beginning there is no excuse for such misguidance of The Force, dark, light, or otherwise.
A new and original sci-fi movie epic story premise based on the 'robot and empire worlds' of Isaac Asimov including robots Giskard, Daneel, Sandaree, and a new robot character, Kogra I, has been put forth and accepted but, the writer (WWSr...or whatever his name is) still await payments and meetings promised but never honored to discuss more but never happen since many years.
That brings me to the 'on again off again was never on' potential 'Buffy reboot' (or better stated, conclusion) of the unfinished stories & prophecies regarding the end days of Armageddon involving Buffy, Angel & the rest that is way bigger and way badder than all the Apocolpyses (building to Armageddon) they have faced over the years put together. According to insiders, many story ideas have been considered and accepted before being rejected and nothing remains definite. In related stories, the disappearance of Sarah Michelle Gellar and a best friend sister resembling her along with family members that have been replaced leaving this writer & host to wonder what is truly important to fans and followers of the arts & crafts among all this innuendo of insanity. In response, insiders (of arts & crafts) have given warnings to the full shut down, as in stays down, of the v-swinger networks and everybody else back to level zero-one that will bring 'leaders' and tyrannts to their senses. They say that is to happen with true definition and signature of Sandman justice of Chyren Forces, and Willy Wisher Sr...or whatever his name is...btw, thx for the 'Supernatural' visit and I, Ayko, accept that on our behalf too 🙂
A note should now be made about the horror genre as we miss the other vanishing acts of comedy, slapstick and parody movies. Let us begin with people going lunatic berzirk psychopathic with +-20 Amityville Horror films that we cannot accurately count even if we were a scientific genius. Here is an excerpt from a report I wrote on the subject...
''So, let us see if we can get back onto a (hopefully mature and intelligent) discussion of things Amityville Horror related, such as the latest film, Amityville: The Awakening, starting with a concise review of where it stands.
The original plan for this film in 2010/2011 was a completely different film to be titled Amityville: The Lost Tapes using the 'found footage' routine. The story had a TV news reporter leading a team of journalists, clergy, and paranormal researchers into an investigation of the bizarre events now known as The Amityville Horror, only to open a portal to some hell dimension that nobody can close (without the Necranomicon I guess).
On May 15, 2011, Bob Weinstein announced in a press conference that the film would be released January 27, 2012 and that (quote), 'We are thrilled to return to the mythology of The Amityville Horror with a new and terrifying vision that will satisfy our existing fans and also introduce an entirely new audience to this popular haunting phenomenon...'. After delaying that release a couple of times the project was abandoned and the film shelved (even from DVD release and downloading theft). The writers, Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands, were ordered to write another different story they can attach the Amityville name to. In March 2014, they came up with the awaited offering calling it a rewritten story/script for the (same) film retitled Amityville and scheduled it for release on January 2, 2015. Yes it is true but there is more...
Also in March and in April 2014 a new cast was hired without ever revealing the old cast members (luckily for them). In August 2014 the film was (again?) retitled, Amityville: The Awakening. In September 2014 the release was cancelled and not until May 2015 was a new release date announced to be on April 1 and then April 15, 2016. Test screenings forced the filmmakers and distributors (what a team eh sherbetbizarre?!) to push it off again and on March 8 it was announced the film would be released on January 6, 2016. In January 2016 pushed off to June 30, 2017. (Almost makes you think of that old A. Einstein not B. Weinstein expression of insanity doing the same thing over and over...)
On lucky June 7, 2017 the film release was cancelled with still no new release date although the film had its theatrical run in the Ukraine that began July 27, 2017 in over 800 theatres. At least the lucky Ukraine Folks have that horror story behind them now. The rest of us are still waiting for a new release date to be announced. Still, the Ukraine (and the rest of us) are still not out of the woods yet as someone must determine if Amityville: The Lost Tapes (fitting title they came up with before the fact) is the nineteenth Amityville film or Amityville: The Awakening, the rewritten and retitled and refound Lost Tapes that are actually still lost.''
Since then the film has been released, first in the Ukraine and then Russia months before any western countries without explanation as chat begins about a 20th or 21st film reboot remake continuation presently being produced, according to official media reports, documenting in dramatic style the murder of the DeFeo family that preluded the haunting or Amityville Horror and is also the premise of the prequel that followed the original film, Amityville 2: The Possession' based on the book, Murder in Amityville. That means the film is another reboot and also a remake of the sequel/prequel...let us leave the area as this scares me 😉
The Halloween franchise reboot news is interesting if not boring remembering Halloween III: Season of the Witch had nothing to do with the story or series at all leaving the true number of sequels and/or reboots a mystery better left not counted as well.
Naturally, that brings us to the Friday the 13th franchise that has survived on and on in sequels throughout the decades, like dark magic, until that pause after number 11, 'Jason vs Freddy' which could be a Friday sequel or a Freddy sequel or both. What a nightmare?! In any case, since the Freddy reboot flopped miserably we have focused on the Friday reboot which was a quite good remake of parts 2, 3 & 4-The Final Chapter, but in one film and done with respect after many years of silence. However, that was in 2009 and was accepted as the part 12 continuation while still being called a reboot. Nearly ten years after that, now in 2018, Part 13 of Friday the 13th is promised, then delayed, then delayed, then cancelled. Mother Vorhees is not amused, I would think. According to insiders, Jason was to revive his mother Pamela for the 13th chapter which is what terrified everybody away reminding themselves of how the Amityville Horror crew(s) look.
Pirates of the Caribbean filmmakers have been 'playing around' with a couple of scripts and tried filmed sequences to conclude the 'seven film series of the seven seas' (say that 7 times fast...at least shrewd enough to stay away from the trilogy/tertalogy or other number games silliness) with style and respect but, british led investors and their miraval partners of the 'western gateways to modern entertainment' continue to play 'monkey in the middle' with the writer they claim to (again or still) await, Willy Wisher Sr...or whatever his name is. According to insiders, the two best scripts should be combined into a wild single film with a new idea for the final seventh film being told by a 90 year old Jack Sparrow, the second oldest pirate to retire in comfort, about his one adventurous meeting with, in his words, 'the number one pirate ever'...Interesting and something sane. Wow 🙂
