Upgrade Complete

I just keep on bumping into things that either go wrong or for which I'm simply too blond to understand but here are two more.

8) In my PM box it says that I have 61 messages (49 Inbox and 12 sent.) However, in the line below it says, "You have 113 confirmed and 6 unconfirmed private message receipts." That's a tad weird.... the line contains a link to: https://www.buffy-boards.com/private.php?do=trackpm if I click it I get:

Allycat, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
3. You are acting like a true blonde person and clicking on things you shouldn't be clicking on.

9) Mr P left a message in my shoutbox and I clicked his name (supposing it'd send me to his profile)... I got a white page with this message instead:

Not Found
The requested URL /forums/member.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

If you'd rather have me not reporting this stuff right now, lemme know 😉 Cause I totally understand that you might be too busy, still working on some things.

Yes I know that, my point was that as the reps don't show in the post you would at least be able to see who has left you reputation.

We do appreciate bugs being reported but things are still being worked out with the upgrade being so new and all.

Re: 8 - At the moment, I don't believe members have the permissions to track their pm's. It may be that the developers missed that it shouldn't show the confirmed/unconfirmed receipts thing then. I'll check with them about it.

Re: 9 - I see where the coder went wrong on there, and I'll fix it as soon as I can get to it.



Just if you could only report things that actually appear to be broken for now, rather than asking for things to be explained. That way we can spend the time fixing things that aren't working and then get to updating the FAQ. Then you can ask how things work.

Okay I went through my test account, and I don't get any word of confirmed vs unconfirmed. I'm thinking maybe at one time tracking was turned on and that is from then? Not sure. I'll check on it with the developers.

The profile link in the shouts thing is fixed now.

Gallery is up and running as well.
 
I don't know whether this is a problem to do with BB or with Karma... but in the links section, under affiliates, if I click the link to Karma, my browser opens a new tab, which remains empty and some strange photo-editing software which I didn't even know I had opens, with the message that it can't open index-2.php ... All the other links work fine. As I said, I don't know whether the problem is caused by BB or by that other site, but since you run most of the affiliate sites (right?) I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Karma has moved to a new URL and server, and the link had yet to be updated thats why it wasn't working right. Its set to the new URL now and is working fine, so no it was not an upgrade issue.

Just clicked the link then it said "There seems to have been a problem with the Buffy-Boards database. Please try again by clicking Refresh button in your web browser. An e-mail has been dispatched to our technical staff, who you can contact if the problem persists. We apologise for the inconvenience."

I tryed to refresh, but it didn't work so, I used the back button.
 
What browser are you using? Cause I'm not having a problem with my test account.

Do me a favor: do it again, and then right click on the page and select "View Source" then copy and paste the source code into a pm to me

Okay, I think it might be the apostrophe in your name that's causing the problem. Let me check it out a bit and I'll get back to you.

Kudos to ya'll. BB looks great and I'm trying to get used to these new features, but I'm sure it will go very smoothly. I do like the new "new posts" thingie a lot 🙂
 
Oh my, I'm away for a while and come back and confusion is rife! In me I mean...ah well hopefully my brain will reorder itself soon.

How do you think a confused older gentleman like me feels 😉 I'm getting used to it though...so many new toys to play with 🙂
 
Please, Mr. P don't ever use "older gentleman" and "toys to play with" in the same sentence again... makes you appear really dirrty 😉
