A shocking or amusing story, usually having some connection to the story teller.

I've been part of an urban legends thread for ages on another board, and some of the stories...

So i thought i'd start a thread, see what urban legends you guys know...

Here's a classic Urban legend

A lady is driving home when she realises she's running low on gas. She sees a layby where she can stop and use her cell phone to call for help.

She pulls over and as she looks in her mirror sees a crazed man with an axe. It was the last thing she saw as her head got chopped off.

Uh... Let's see... the one where the lady puts her dog in the microwave after it comes in from the rain. or the reason the McDonalds playgrounds are inside is because a snake made home in one a long ways back and it bit a kid.

we all know the whole "I'm calling from your house" one, and someone's actually tried to play that joke on me.
 
A teenage boy is pleasing himself while lisening to a walkman. he closes his eyes and when he's done finds his mums come in and brought him a cup of tea.

how many times has somone tried to pass that off as a true embarrasing story?

i got one
a girl was studying,went to her dorm room,and heard a noise but she didnt turn the light on cos she thought her friend was sleeping,she put on her walkman and fel asleep she woke up in the morning..her friend dead and her blood on the wall saying-arent you glad you didnt turn on the light!
I love that one...scared my sis half to death!
 
A mother was stuck in traffic on a highway, suddenly a man opened the door of her car and snatched her baby and ran off, the mother climbed out and looked for the man but she couldn't see him.

Police were alerted, and finally they came to a car with the baby and man in, the baby was dead on closer inspection and had had drugs stuffed inside it.
 
People in a nice grassy part of a city were shocked when one morning they walked outside to see hundreds of birds laying semi-conscious on the street, their beaks stained red.

It turned out they had been eating partly fermented berries and had gotten drunk.

Lol, poor birds.
 
Yeah, there are some pretty good ones, there. Snopes is good as well.

Muggers in india are holding their victims @ snakepoint. lol. The use venomous snakes to scare the people before running w/ the money.
