I've just found details of another American convention taking place new year.

Moonlight Rising - June 6-8, 2003

Guests are: James Marsters (Spike), James Leary (Clem) and comic book writer Christopher Golden

VIP tickets are limited to 200. They will be given the lowest badge numbers, entitling them to first access to the autograph lines and reserved seating at the guest main stage appearances. We will also be having a dance on Saturday night limited to VIP ticket holders. {edit - according to their website these are sold out}

General Admission tickets are limited to 600, limiting full-access admission to a total of 800 attendees.

Moonlight Rising-Buffy Con

Hi everyone.
My name is Alice, I have been a Buffy fan since season 1 and now I have the priviledge to be part of a commitee for a fan run convention called Moonlight Rising

As I said, this is a fan run con, we have no sponsors, expect to make no money, just want to put on a great event for us fans and our special guests.

Right now our guests are James Marsters, James Leary (Clem), Amber Benson, Anthony Stewart Head, and writer Christopher Golden.... :: wacko : (sorry, everytime I see our lineup, I have to shake my head, I can't believe it! lol)

We have lots of activities planned, photo sessions with Amber and Tony, panels, gaming...anything we can cram into the schedule!

This won't be the only convention you'll ever have, right? 'Cause God do I want to go to this one, and it's in my area and everything (well, half way across the state, but still...), but just incase I never do get to go... I just want a reality check here. Thanks.
 
Well, I honestly do not know if we will do this again. This is our first con, and whether or not we do it again depends on the success of this one, and how we all feel about it...in other words, I just don't know. Putting this together is not an easy thing, we are just obsessed and crazy enough to try! Hope you can make it, though.

Okay. I told my sister and her best friend about it, and we're definitely going toward the 'absolutely going' category. Do you expect the tickets to be sold out really fast, because I don't want to miss out, but we do want to think about it for a little bit. So tell us how fast we should be making our decision. Thanks.

The VIP tickets will be sold out very soon, if they have not already.
There are still plenty of the general admission tickets available, but I have no way of knowing how long those will last. So...you have time, but I wouldn't wait too long.

New Guest announcement for Moonlight Rising

Hi everyone,

Have one final guest to add to our (if I may say so myself) stellar lineup...Joining James Marsters, Anthony Stewart Head, James Leary, writer Christopher Golden, and Amber Benson is.... Adam Busch(Warren) and his band, Common Rotation.

Adam will be doing Q&A, signing and photo sessions Friday and Sat. Common Rotation will be holding a concert Friday night, after the charity benefit concert from Julie Caitlin Brown.

Unfortunately, no. Adam and Common Rotation are the last of the guests to be announced. We would love to be able to get all of them, but remember, we are a fan-run con, with very shallow pockets! We have no financial backers, and are relying on ticket sales to pay the fees of the guests we have booked (which are pretty good, don't ya think?)

guess I spoke a little too soon...we have another guest! Robin Sachs aka. Ethan Rayne, has joined our guest list as well....and I think that's it this time.

Robin cancelled, didn't he?? I'm going with my friend Brenda, and I remember hearing something about him cancelling or something like that. That really sucks, but I'm still extremely excited. I got a VIP ticket, so i'm going to do practically everything, and I'm also in the "Once More With Feeling" remake thing. I'm sooooo excited. Well, just thought I'd share the joy.

Update!

some more updates for you all...

Amber Benson has agreed to screen 'Chance' and 'Ghosts of Albion' at the con. We have tickets available at our website, but you have to attend the con to buy tickets to the screenings.

Also, we are doing photo shoots with all the guests, however we have had to limit sales to one choice of the 'big three' (Amber Benson, James Marsters, and Anthony Stewart Head).
Photos are $30 each, and those are also on sale at our website.

There are still tickets available for the con, btw...I hope to meet you there.

Dude, Everyone it was freaking awesome!!!! Adam Busch is the funniest guy in the world yo! James leary (Clem) is the most adorable man in the world and i love him, Amber is so sweet, as is James Marsters, and Tony Head Rocks!! Chris Golden is funny also. All in all, so worth the money for the VIP tickets cause it Rocked! Everyone check out Common Rotation, Adam's band, they kick ass yo! K, I'm out for now! Toodles!

I'm thinking that he did, but I can't remember. If he did, it wasn't very long giggling. He might have done it on Sunday though, and I wasn't there for the Q&A's on Sunday. I was sitting in an airport waiting for a delayed flight!

Moonlight Rising Pictures

That's the link for the pictures I took at the convention. Most are from the Common Rotation concert on Friday night. I had an awesome seat (front row, so when people got up and started dancing I got to be right at the edge of the stage. Got great pics of everyone on stage). Enjoy them all!
