USB mobile internet

I am using at the moment a USB modem to connect to the internet. Has anyone here used one? Maybe as their main connection. I would be interested to know your thoughts.

Mine shall remain shrouded in mystery until I hear yours 😉

We had such a thingy a few years back. It was SO annoying. Very loose connection. At the end we harldy got it to work at all. So glad we don't have that anymore.

I had to use one in France when I was studying there last year, as my accomodation was *very* basic and had no internet connection.

I wasn't all that impressed, to be honest. I was paying around 30 euros a month for 500MB - the most I could get without paying a fortune. I think the prices over here in England are a little more reasonable though lol.

However, the connection would disappear at random times, I'd sometimes not be able to connect at all and sometimes it was sooo slooow.

I was on SFR which is the French equivalent of Vodafone.

I don't think I would get one again (at the moment anyway) - because I rarely use my laptop elsewhere apart from uni and home where there's wifi.

I work for a mobile phone company in Ireland and we get allot of complaints about them, They are excellent in certain areas but crappy in most!

The little blinky signal light will probably keep telling me it's at full strength.

We have one of those, but the connection is s l o w where we live. It's faster when I'm in town, though, so it obviously depends a lot on the prosimity to the sender.

I got one as my only connection. I don't have a home phone line and I actually live outside of the area that it is supposed to work in so I'm lucky to even get a connection. It drops out when the weather is bad, too windy or too hot, or lots of cloud cover, sometimes just cos its temperamental (although when I am in town it works perfectly, on the high speed network). Its heaps slower than what most of you would be used to but I don't mind so much. Its the cheapest available to me for where I live. I only have a 6 gig limit but that is so much higher than I have ever had before.

Besides the signal dropping out and the limit I'm happy with it. I mean it technically shouldn't even work out here at all so I'm thankful I have connection. Even if I did have a phone line I wouldn't be able to get on the adsl nor able to afford more than a 500mb limit. Its annoying if I'm halfway thru a convo or watching a video but better than nothing.

I use mobile internet with an USB modem when I'm out of town.

It used to disconnect alot but lately it has been working really great.

I pay like 10 euros a month and can surf as much as I want on evenings and weekends.
It costs extra to use it during the day though. But that doesn't matter to me since I'm usually working then anyway.
