'Valentine' on TNT Thurs. night

The 2001 horror film Valentine, starring David Boreanaz and Denise Richards, will be airing on TNT at 9:00 EST on Thursday, Sept. 25. Directed by Jamie Blanks (Urban Legend), this may seem like a routine slasher film to some, but to Buffy and Angel fans it's a showcase for David Boreanaz, and IMO is worth screening at least once if for no other reason than to see DB in a role outside of the Buffy/Angelverse.😎
 
I realize that's it's just another one of those predictable thoughtless horror flicks, but I tend to like those - I find them funny. Valentine was okay, and it was better because it was the first non-Angel role I saw David in.
 
As fate would have it, I saw Valentine before getting into Buffy and later Angel, and was the first time I'd seen DB in anything. I had no idea who he was at the time, though it was only just a few of months later that my love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer began.
 
I don't much care for it. But, i have to admit that i do own it. I feel so shamed. But, in it's defense, it has some lines that you can't help but laugh at:
"i think you're great Kate. Will you be my mate Kate?"
"You're scarry larry."

So dumb, yet i laugh. But i have to say that the funniest movie that i'm ashamed to admit i like is "Idle Hands" i just about pee every time i watch it.

I saw it a month or so on TV. Maybe I am a little slow, but I didn't really get the end...
 
Yeah, I was a little hesitant to drop a bunch of spoilers, but what was with the "fat" chick being in the mask at the end, then?
 
DB's character attacked Dorothy (the "fat" chick) and knocked her unconscious, then dressed her up in the Valentine killer costume (all off-camera). He then threw her into Kate, making it look like Dorothy had lunged at her. Then, when Dorothy woke up, DB's character shot her to convince Kate he was protecting her. His character, as twisted as he was, genuinely cared for Kate in his own way because she was the only one out of the five girls who was nice to him the night of the school dance during which he got traumatized (as documented in the film's opening moments). So, in the end, he stopped his killing spree because he'd killed everyone he'd set out to kill (as well as anyone who posed a threat to his plans) and got exactly what he wanted: Kate's affection.
 
Hmmmm...I never seen that movie..im in!I love db no matter who he plays!!!😛
 
It has been a while since I saw the movie, but I remember ruling out that scenario for some reason. I thought that Dorothy (sorry, I didn't know her name) did something after she woke up that made me think that she was actually the killer, like lunging at Kate or something. I might be wrong, though, I had kind of tuned out by the end. Seeing David outside of Buffy and Angel was fun and all, but that movie was not the greatest.
 
^I might've ruled that scenario out, myself, but we're given a less than subtle hint that DB's character is the killer: his nose bleeds in the final scene, just like the masked killer. Jeremy Melton, the kid those four girls tormented back at the school dance, also suffered from nosebleeds. Therefore the killer is a man, it is Jeremy, and Adam Carr (DB's character) is really Jeremy.

You're right that the movie's not the greatest. It's not even the greatest slasher movie, but for me it's nonetheless a guilty pleasure.
 
Yeah, I have to admit that I, too, enjoyed it a little. It is always fun to see the Buffy and Angel cast in other things. I even endured that horrible "Darkness Falls" movie just to see Emma. I downloaded it off Kazaa, though, and the quality was horrible, so I couldn't see anything. I guess it might have been good.
 
I rented Darkness Falls not too long ago. It was okay, but was really only worth it for Emma. Wrong Turn starring Eliza Dushku is much better, IMO.

i did and i liked it,db looks so cute,...and weird,i'm used to the dark clothes.conclusion:the movie is not great,but i still liked it
 
I liked it. I watched it back when it was on TNT. I don't think I would've sat thru it if David would'nt have been in it.
