A thread like this one turns up every Valentine's day, so I thought let's do it a little different this year.

For those who might be looking to cut a CD of background music as they look forward to spending the evening with their sweety, what songs to you recommend they consider uh...acquiring to put on their CD?

Hey... I was coming here to post a topic asking people the same thing... Only a different question. Lol, if that made sence...I need slow songs too for a CD im burning for my bf. But anyways, the song that always used to get me giddy is Selena "Dreaming of you" just because that song has warm and fuzzy memories for me 😛

The First Dance at my wedding was to Thank You For Loving Me by Bon Jovi. It really is a beautiful song!

Lyrics:
It's hard for me to say the things
I want to say sometimes
There's no one here but you and me
And that broken old street light
Lock the doors
We'll leave the world outside
All I've got to give to you
Are these five words when I

Chorus:
Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes
When I couldn't see
For parting my lips
When I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me
Thank you for loving me

I never knew I had a dream
Until that dream was you
When I look into your eyes
The sky's a different blue
Cross my heart
I wear no disguise
If I tried, you'd make believe
That you believed my lies

Chorus:
Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes
When I couldn't see
For parting my lips
When I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me

You pick me up when I fall down
You ring the bell before they count me out
If I was drowning you would part the sea
And risk your own life to rescue me

Solo

Lock the doors
We'll leave the world outside
All I've got to give to you
Are these five words when I

Chorus:
Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes
When I couldn't see
You parted my lips
When I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me

When I couldn't fly
Oh, you gave me wings
You parted my lips
When I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me

"I'm not in love" by 10cc and "Love and affection" by Joan Armatrading are two of my favourite love songs.

10cc lyrics

Joan Armatrading lyrics

...and to lively things up a little, I'd choose "Ever Fallen In Love With Someone (You Shouldn't've Fallen In Love With)?" by The Buzzcocks (but not the inferior version from the Shrek 2 soundtrack 🙂)

Buzzcocks lyrics

Do you want seriously romantic or those moody depressive love songs that are always on there? Have some good moody ones if you want them, but will wait and see if those are the ones you want.

One of my favorite songs that always makes me happy, and it's sooo perfect for V'day is "If You're Not The One" - Daniel Bedingfield :vpleased:

I was thinking of romantic songs you yourself would use to set the mood on Valentine's day eve after a romantic dinner, either for the ride home from the restaurant, or sitting on the couch holding hands, looking into each other eyes.

If you want you can apologize for being overly sappy though. 🙂

Dionne Warwick with Walk on by. Perhaps missing the entire romantic feel, but that is such a beautiful song and the way she sings it, superb. It's perfect if you want to get all emotional and in my world emotional often leads to love.

Seduction!!

You've been waiting for this all week. That special person is finally spending some quality time with you, and it's gonna be amazing. You've set the lights on low, and lit a candle or two. Dinner is almost ready, an intimate gourmet meal for two, with wine. It's only minutes now until they come through the door. You walk to the stereo and put a compact disk you've burned just for the occasion into the player...just a minute or two more. The disk starts...

So...what's on your disk? What music would you put on the disk to enhance your seduction of "that person"?

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'd go with the classic...Barry White.

Thanks KD. That's what I was trying to say. :)
Sticking with classics, as this is the one of the few artists my boyfriend and I can agree on, the incomparable Mr. Frank Sinatra 🙂

Thanks, Cordy. Do you both (you and Xander) mean "Lady in Red" by Chris DeBerg? Or some other song? "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton, maybe?

Its a song, called "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra.

And from what I remember of it the song "At Last" by Etta James is nice as well.
