Valentines Day

Totally ignoring it. It'll be like any other sunday (since it's on a sunday this year). But since this thread came up I can take the opportunity to wish all bb members, mods and admins a happy Valentine's day. You all deserve lots of love coming your way. :grouphug:

Happy valentines day! 😀 Not that I'm doing anything, or really care. Oh, well, I'm actually going to the cinema with my friends. Which may be awkward considering it'll be filled with couples, but I'm doing anything actually specifically for valentines day, I don't see the point, when I'm 14 and single, anyway...

My wife was going to be out of town, but the trip got canceled, so we may do something. But the reason that it was cancelled is that we have a nice fresh layer of snow covering the roads, so it might have to be something here at home.

You too, huh?
I am going to try & forget that it is Valentine's Day because I am always single & it's depressing. Plus the past week dating wise has been a disaster for me so I actually thought about just sleeping through the entire day lol

Agreed.
Don't belive in Valentines Day. If you love someone, you love that person all the time. All holidays became commercial, but Valentines Day - sudendly everyone love everyone, when it passes, it's like that love goes pufff.

We don't plan anything romantic for Valentine's Day. It's also my hubby's birthday, so we end up celebrating that instead. We're going out for dinner tomorrow night, and then home for CAKE! Yay!

Mmmmm, cake. :D
The last few years I've become a big celebrater of Valentine's Day, I do think it's kind of a "corny" holiday but even when I was single I usually had a movie night with some of my gal pals which made it worth while. This year though, my hunny and I will be celebrating Three Years of going steady so we'll be heading to a Chinese buffet for dinner and then seeing (what other than) Valentine's Day at the theaters. 🙂

(And I got a sketch done of the two of us for her gift but shh! It's a surprise! 😉)

I am going to Anti-Valentines Day Star Wars movie marathon. 😀 My sister and her roommates planned it for everyone. All the singles are getting to together and relishing in the fact we are single. Haha, it should be fun. Stars Wars is always a good time. I think I will bring some cookies for the party.

I fully accept that Valentine's Day is a cheap gimmick to sell cards and chocolate, buuuuuuuut... I love it. Always have. It's big in my house. Every year, my sister and parents and I exchange gifts and cards. And since the gifts generally consist of chocolatey goodness... I'm game!

Last year, V Day sucked a whole bunch. My girlfriend pulled a Cordy and broke up with me. 🙁 But I still got chocolate! Which is the point, after all. And this year, my boyfriend and I are going out to lunch with my best friend and her boy, which'll be fun. But then we have to go to Debate practice. 😛

Pulled a Cordy? lol
For me, Valentines Day is another one of those conventional "holidays" that just tries to convince people to buy more products. No one even really knows anymore the real history behind the holiday.

All it succeeds in doing is making us single people feel sad and making couples feel inadequate because their relationships aren't up to the level portrayed what love "should" be in the media.

I see Valentine's Day the same way Wild At Heart does.

Last week I got turned down by a guy I really like, so that didn't do anything to raise my spirits. Also, it would be a miracle if at any point ever I'd actually be in a relationship.
So nope, no Valentine's Day for me.

This Valentine's Day will be the sixth that I have spent with my boyfriend and just like every other year, we won't be doing anything. We've never bought cards or presents. A couple of times he's sprung a meal on me, actually once, the other time was our anniversary. Not everyone who's with someone or in love celebrates Valentine's Day.

Plus, I buried my grandfather on Valentine's Day three years ago, so I tend to spend it thinking of him. 🙂

Most pointless day of the year. I've never ever done anything for it because I pretty much think it is tacky as Hell.

I LOATH Valentine's Day. Not just because I'm single, I wasn't last year and I still hated it. It's pointless, and it makes people feel the need to spend money and prove their love for their partners. I can't stand it, and I spend the whole day, usually, under a rock. I think the whole day should be banned. It also sucks to have your birthday the day before, 'cause people tend to forget, 'cause they're to busy panicking over what to do for Valentine's Day. *sulks*

I decided to try and embrace the day this year, so I put up a Valentine's Day themed layout at Seeing Red...the next day I hated it and I made a new layout. It's literally making my fingers ache that I can't change the layout until Monday.
