Curious to see what people are doing for Valentine's Day and what they're getting their partners? Even though I know its a silly, commercial event I still enjoy celebrating it. Sorry for all the single people! I hope you have a lovely day as well 🙂

What I've gotten/made so far

Every occasion I like to get fandom themed cards from Redbubble, they're just so cute and more personal. And as the boyfie loves firefly I just had to get this one n.n

I've also tried to make a bookmark for him. Were both really big readers and he loves this quote from doctor who Screenshot_2017-02-12-15-01-32.png

Next I'm thinking a book to put it in and maybe a teddy bear 🙂

That card is so cute. Well, the husband and I don't go a bundle on Valentine's Day, but we'll probably do cards (except i haven't actually bought one yet! 😀)
 
Call me old fashioned, but I thought the whole idea of Valentines cards was as an anonymous gesture to someone from a secret admirer.....

So if you are actually in a relationship.....you really shouldn't be sending them, if you know what I mean....... 😉

Anyway....if you have to make a big think out of Feb 14th.......does that mean you're neglecting your 'significant other' for the other 364 days each year?

Jus sayin..... 🙂
 
My favourite time of the year is fast approaching, I love the fun to be had with them easter bunnies. That other time that had about humbugs was fun, so a Valentine sweet would be the way to go.
An anonymous letter/ card is no fun. I once sent a card from my 11 month old daughter to a married friend of the family and signed it Brian. He was an Italian. I told him 2 or 3 years later, it caused a far bit of concern.

See the thing is I never got to do the secret admirer thing back in high school because I was like the bullied fat kid and it always made me feel left out, so I like being able to do it now that I'm older and I don't want him to be like "all the other couples are doing it why aren't we" kinda of thing?

He's definitely not neglected the other 364 days, I spoil him every chance I get 😛

Not watching 50 Shades Darker. Cards, chocolate and probably a curry. I see it mostly as a day for various people to rip you off and make you feel bad if you don't let them.

And the twist there is that the sneaky gits are trying to sell you it being on the anti-romance film😉 Well for that I suggest watching something like Hard Candy or Eternal Sunshine😀

The other half won't remember it's Valentine's Day and I don't care either way lol. We prefer to do something special on our anniversary, and it's more personal that way.

So I just look up the trailer for Eternal Sunshine as I hadn't heard of it before. Amazing actors, trailer makes it seem lighthearted and funny, has Mr Sunshine playing in the background. I need to watch it now to see how wrong that is 😛
 
My anniversary is at the end of the month and that gets more thought put into it than Valentine's Day. This year we're going away for a short spa/golf resort weekend.

I never cared about Valentine's Day until my husband started talking about how much he hates it and saying things like I celebrate our love everyday....now I'm starting to feel like I'm missing out on something.

I highly recommend it. Its one of the most original and stunning films of the last 15 years. Lost in Translation, The Apartment (1960), and if you can find it an Argentinian film called Medianeras (or Sideways) all would be perfect alternative Valentines films. Here's the trailer for Medianeras

La La Land. I will wait to watch 50 Shades Darker, when it comes out on video. The first one was boring, this one will be boring, but meh, I might watch it. lol

Oddly enough I was considering seeing La La Land tomorrow😉 But might and see what the weather's like as its a bit of walk from me.

Not seen the first 50 Shades film. I'm guessing that its better than the new one. At least they tried to do their own thing with the first one. I've heard that the author has had more influence this time. That can only be a bad thing.
 
I'm as single as can be, have been my whole life (not that I want to be just haven't met anyone yet that wants to be with me lol) so nothing special happens on valentine's day for me lol. Sometimes I do something with a group of friends or watch some movies or buy a bunch of candy lol. Hopefully one of these valentine's days I will have a valentine or someone to celebrate it with. 🙂

Yea the first one wasn't actively bad, it was just bland. There was nothing "sexy" about it. I've heard just terrible reviews for the new one, and yes author E.L. James insisted on being the one to write it with her husband. And having a lot of creative influence, and it just didn't work. She's not J.K. Rowling! From what I've heard the books are also written terribly, it just had a concept that housewives and single people, in general wanted to read.
 
I don't do Valentines Day (mainly because I'm single) but I can't stand the over the top sappiness that goes with it.

Google does have a lovely Valentines Day game that you can play though about a Pangolin trying to give his sweetheart special gifts.
