How is everyone celebrating this year? Do you have any traditions? Do you have any good Valentine's Day stories where things went awry, or even according to plan?

Personally, I have a thing of watching Lady and the Tramp with my dog and eating a plate of spaghetti, and my parents have always given me a potted hyacinth, ever since I was little.
My favorite Valentine's Day experience, though, was when I won a giant box of chocolates at a poetry contest hosted by my university for Valentine's Day. It kind of turned into an anti-love poetry competition, and I think mine might have been the worst. 😆 I passed a girl in the bathroom on the way home and she remarked that someone must really like me, and I said, "yep, myself!" 😁 The family really enjoyed knocking out those truffles!

Anyways, anyone else have any good ones to share? Wishing everyone an early Happy Valentine's Day greeting, to all those coupled or not this year! 💕

The last Valentine’s Day I celebrated I got dumped- so I guess that counts as plans going awry?? 😂😂 it was years ago but it’s kinda ruined the “holiday” for me now haha
I don't typically celebrate Valentine's Day, but then, I'm not currently coupled. That being said, my mother usually gets me something small, and I appreciate the thought! This past year, we went to a fondue restaurant for Valentine's...and I ate way too much fruit, cheese, and chocolate.

Your Lady and the Tramp tradition sounds fun!

I'll ditto that one...

As far as traditions go we always get Abbs a card with weird roses are red poems in and chocolate and a cuddly toy, although I think she may be too old for the cuddly toy this year!
Can anyone ever really be too old for a cuddly toy? I give toys as Christmas gifts periodically to my family, who are much much older. It's always been a big hit. Everyone turns into a child with a teddy around, and you should have seen the old fellas on the pogo stick!

Here's one who is a bit old to be a cuddly toy, mind you, I might be tempted should a nice female offer a virtual cuddle from here.

As for getting on a pogo stick has any genius made one that folk can sit on?

Seen as Valentines Day is coming up, I thought i'd see what everyone is doing ( I desperately need ideas)! Its a bit tough to meet up with people over lockdown so what are your plans? I'm more of a stay at home baa humbug sort of person but this year my girlfriend wants to go out😅 😂🤣

Might be tricky since I'm guessing pubs won't be open in London. Guess you could find a nice spot somewhere and have a drink together. Watching some films is always a good shout.

I will send a couple of people gifts. Plus will send myself lots of Black wreaths and watch the most romantic movie ever Bride of Chunky 😀 Thanks @Moggin I'd forgotten Lady and the Tramp might add that to my viewing this for the month.

I loathe Valentine's Day, over commercialised bunch of crap. I refuse to get anyone anything and will get annoyed if someone gets me anything, especially chocolate or flowers.

Shoot! I'm going have to return that whole garden I got you now! 😛

I’m not much for Valentine’s, but I usually get stuff at work (who can say no to a nice bouquet of flowers?) which is nice, so bummer it is on a Sunday!
