Vampire chronicles by Ann Rice

A while ago I finished the last book of the vampire chronicles, and after seeing the serie of Buffy and Angel first, I wondered if some ideas for some episodes came from these books.
Did any of you red these books to and what do you think?

I read an interesting web page that once pointed out how much like Anne Rice's work season two was, and it indeed brought up some very good points. I don't have any clue where to find that page though.

I read about 20 pages of Interview with a Vampire, but I thought it was tedious and boring. After I found out that Anne Rice does not allow fanfiction based on her work, I decided to just boycot her altogether.
