Here's something to ponder. If as of the end of Issue #39, there is no more magic in the world, how does that affect the curse that restored Angel's soul? Also, if his soul is still intact, is the "one moment of true happiness" clause still also there? And, if there is no more soul, is he still Angel, more or less good, the way that Spike was in Season 6, or is he Angelus?

For that matter, given the different circumstances under which Spike won his soul back, would he be more likely to retain his soul than Angel, since the demon who restored it was almost certainly more powerful and therefore capable of using a more powerful spell than the Gypsies were able to use on Angelus?

Would both vampires, one but not the other, or neither one, retain their souls?

And I'm not entirely certain that the fact that the Slayers remain Slayers is a valid argument for Spike and Angel automatically keeping their souls, since we have no real idea just what it is that makes one girl a candidate for being a Slayer while fifty thousand others aren't. Maybe it's partly genetic, some phantom gene that only manifests itself on very rare occasions, that might be activated by magic, like tossing a flame into a pool of gasoline, but the pool remains burning once the match itself is totally consumed.
 
As var as i know, everything remains exactly as it was before the seed was shattered...

vampires stay vampires, slayers stay slayers, vampires with souls and curses remain cursed... however, soul-boinking them would release his soul and there would be no way of putting it back in...

i think the Bangel contingent has been well and truly buried by the comics end anyway lol

they can still be happy at the amount of Bangel sex that was in the comics and the first 2/3 seasons of the show lol

I thought it felt kinda sketchy, like the consequences are dependent on how they want to develop the plot rather than the other way around.

But if we ignore that, I think a logical explanation would be that something or someone once magically 'altered' stays the same (i.e. being ensouled, being called as a Slayer, etc.), but that no more new magic can be used.

Once you've been here a bit longer, you'll come to realize that Bangels are EVER really happy. It comes from devoting themselves to someone who invented brooding.

But they're all nice folks, despite their delusions.
 
I'm not convinced of any of this yet (referring to the "end of magic" stuff that comes with the destruction of the seed). I've said this before that I don't get at all why witches will lose their power yet Slayers retain theirs. Why demons will disappear yet vampires remain. Huh? I hope Joss & Allie give us a better explanation of what's going to happen.

And WA for the record I think you stole your OP from me since I voiced that exact same question somewhere else in another thread. But, I'll forgive you since you're such a big Star Trek & Highlander fan. 😀
 
On the sub-topic of slayers vs. witches, I think that Slayers keep their powers because the magic is in their DNA. Witches may be born with high magical aptitude, but they draw magic from their environment. That's my theory, anyway.

As for vampires with souls, the spells that keep Angel's and Spike's respective souls in their bodies must be strong enough (and permanent enough) that their souls weren't pulled out of them when Buffy destroyed the Seed of Wonder. And again, existing magic survives, but no new magic can arise. Too bad Amy couldn't cast a spell on Warren that would provide him with a permanent skin, but it's still a good thing that she didn't think of such a solution.
