I didn't know the proper title for this so if an admin or mod can change the title to the proper title is fine with me! Anyways, before watching BTVS & ATS did anybody else think that vampires just turn into vampires after being bitten?
Do you mean without having to drink vampire blood themselves..?
Sorta along that line... I've been watching classic (and cheapass 🙂) vampire flicks from way too young an age, and I thought that if you die from a vampire bite, you'll rise as a vamp yourself. (Which, incidentally, is exactly the way (A)D&D handles it in the world of roleplaying, at least in the editions I know... so I wasn't alone with that view, it seems. 😛)Yeah, at one point I thought that. When I was younger I always figured that if the bite didn't kill you it turned you.
There have been several different versions of how a vampire is created over the years, the oldest that I can recall, from the Legosi Dracula times, was that simply having a vampire kill someone made them rise from the grave.
Actually, in the Legosi film, as I said above, Dracula had to give his blood to his victim and they had to die with his blood in their veins in order for them to turn into a vampire.
