[Variety] 'Angel' won't see a sixth season

I've signed the petition, damn WB. I thought S6 might be the last but I never always hoped S5 wouldnt be.

God I can't believe it. It still hasn't dawned on me fully yet that Angel is gone. Not the kind of news I wanted to hear on a Saturday morning. Up untill now I was optimistic that Angel would have at least one more season. It sounded like season 6 would be the perfect time for the show to end. This season had so many things going for it: Spike, Wolfram and Hart ect. The show had such a low budget I was sure the WB would just give it one last season. I guess I should be happy the WB told everyone now. This gives Joss and co enough time to give Angel a proper ending instead of an end which didn't resolve anything. I'm hoping against hope that UPN pick Angel up. Buffy was their highest rated show and Angel's ratings are not that much lower. I don't think there will be an Angel TV movie. If the WB can't give it one last season I don't think they are gonna give it a movie. Please UPN don't let it end now.

Well a round of applause must go to the WB for ruining the Valentine's weekend 🙄 Way to go WB...

I knew that the show would end one day. But i honestly thought that there'd be one more season. I can't believe the suits at the WB cancelled this well written, character driven TV show. It was showing that it could survive without Buffy, the ratings were decent, and it was holding its own despite strong competition. Well, i suppose they want to get bums on seats with bargain basement quality reality tv shows, hey, it's not like you need another one of those 🙄 and there's a rumour that they're replacing Angel with "Dark Horizons" i think, which is a show apparently about.... wait for it... vampires!!!!... so i say, contemptuously to those at the WB who don't seem to care about anyone's feelings at the moment, what was wrong with the original vampire series if you want a newer, fresher feel to the vampire story, upgrade "Angel"!!, not hard to do!.

I really hope UPN pick the show up, even for one more season. Angel is still fresh, the story isn't over, not out of ideas. But i've got the feeling that its over, once the season is done, that will be it and that's going to be one very sad day.

I wanna come, but I don't think it'll help much, I say we should focus on UPN rather then the WB... for those who are sending postcards anyway, this is the adress of the UPN president.

Save Angel Shrine

Following the news that the WB will be cancelling Angel after it's fifth season, I have set up a website in support of the show, the petition and the creators/writers/actors. Ultimately it will be a shrine to Angel, but currently it provides a place for dissapointed Angel fans to communicate, and will provide information on how to support Angel in the future. i'm actually shaking as i write this..i'm just so shocked!! Why would they want to cancel Angel and keep all the ones which aren't good at all?!

Buffy ending was upsetting but it ran for a good 7 years
Stargate (my other fav show) is ending but has been going for 8 years
But angel... 5 years and a new setting, new everything and they cancel it?

the wb should be ashamed of themselves! they screwed over Buffy and now they're doing it with Angel

Ugh I'm so mad. I can't believe they come to Joss midseason and tell him "Oh by the way you should wrap things up." It would be one thing to do that say in the beginning of the season but the plot line has already been well layed out. Just from what I know from spoilers, this is going to throw one heck of a horseshoe in their plans.

Once again the WB does something that makes no sense. Just like cancelling Buffy after a tremendous season 5...
 
At first I was pretty okay with the decision to end Angel's run this year. After further thought, I realised that other crappy shows like 7th Heaven and Fverwood are still on, but they chose to cancel ANGEL!!! I mean come on!! I thought the budget cut was bad enough, now this. Gone are the days where quality actually matters. Nowadays its see which fad is popular and off they go with their survivor 150 and bachelor 2000... URGH!!!!!!!! *Is infuriated
 
This is disgraceful , this season has been extremely intriqueing and the best so far. It's also been doing well in the rateings , so why the hell have the WB cancelled it !!!!!
 
What a load of dogs bollocks. The WB has been looking pretty cheesy this year, and I guess its slide will only continue. This is really disappointing.

I'm going to give them a piece of my mind (politely) and I hope I'm not the only one doing so.

If you're just interested in venting go to your local pub and have a round with your friends. If you're interested in actually being persuasive politeness is more effective.
