A certain someone who unadded me from her friend list on LJ without even having the decency to talk to me about it or even tell me.

Never having time to do MY work, as I am always picking up the pieces of my disastrous life. If I say, easily confused 88 year old grandmother going missing at 8 o clock at night, involving 9 police cars, 12 police officers, a police helicopter with heat seeking camera, 4 police dogs, and a frog team on standby, you get the idea. If I add 2 people even oblivious to her existence hours earlier also being involved (the woman who lives in her old house and a man who found her keys), in-laws to babysit whilst we went armed with a torch, two photos of her, a hat and a travel thermos, all the while thinking muddy riverbank and corpses, you can see why it was a bit crappy. Although I did get my kitchen cleaned by my mother in law - I think if I pull that one again she may cotton on. Even M-i-L had arrived with a toothbrush, pillow and spare undies (we are both librarian people... practical in a crisis).

To add insult to injury, my Grandmother was sat in the common room of her sheltered housing the whole time, snoozing in a chair in the dark, 'cos she is too eccentric and daft to turn the lights on. She was awoken by the aformentioned helicopter at 100ft above, and looked out the window towards her flat wondering who all these people were inside. When a young policewoman pointed to the wild looking white haired old woman hopping up and down outside the window and said 'is that her?' I thought my Mother's head would implode. When she asked 'what's all this fuss about' and a policeman said 'well, actually it's about you' she replied with 'well I know I'm very important!' My Mother's first words to her were 'where the fudging hailstones (ish) have you been even the policeman retorted, 'well, I wouldn't have put it quite like that.' Grandmother then decided to offer everyone tea and biscuits (yes, my 'merican brethren, how very English) and told the man who had found her keys she had had 'a rollocking (ish!) from the police already, thank you very much'. All that for a 150 yard walk to the grass verge to let the dog have a pee.

And don't even get me started on my son having to be removed from his class in a mid Aspie meltdown, where the teacher then fell over and hurt her arm...

...... deep sigh, and relax.

maybe if you had a manly banner instead of lil wusspuss you would stop your bellyaching about HAVNG to do your paper and just do it.. the wusspuss on your banner is obviously contagious. (oh this should be good)

Meh, he's not a wusspuss. Although, I really do like that word :)
I nearly got killed today! I was literally a second away from getting knocked over by a taxi that was speeding so fast. If I had jumped into the taxi lane one second sooner it would definitely have hit me. And at that speed...

Moral of the story? DON'T JUMP INTO TAXI LANES YOU NINNY! Stay safe!
My dad knocked at our door at 2:30 in the morning, waking me and my brother up, then he let himself in the house asking where my mum is and throwing all these stupid accusations around, her business is nothing to do with him anymore. When when my mum got home he started shouting at her, threatening her and calling her a load of names, then he expected to stay over since it was so late. Thankfully my mum made him leave like 10 minutes ago. I hate it when he does stuff like that.

I feel like hell. I fell over on the concrete today when I was bringing in the washing. I have to tell my friend i'm moving. She'll be crushed. My etire leg is killing me, however, I still need to walk over to my grandparents to do the vacuuming. I have to get a cerviacal Cancer shot. Appparantly there are three. And Oh, yeah, they moved the KFC out of my hometown, just when I could really use some comfort food :'(

After 12 hours of studying I am finally half way through the material I have to read for my exam. Which leads us to the downside. Now, where I'm tired, exhausted and it's the middle of the night, I still need to read half of the stuff in about 6 hours.

I have to take my physics midterm tomorrow morning, even though I didn't study for it at all and it's my worst subject. I'd cram, but I reeeally don't feel like it. Urghhh 🙁

On the Kinslayer's behalf I'm venting for those poor people that suffered a close defeat in yesterday's superbowl. Well It's very odd that no one has mentioned before.
My theory is, that those who have won are too drunk to go online and those that have lost are too drunk to go online, or half destroyed their computers out of complete wackookookness.

But that don´t explain why people didn´t mentioned it before it started. Maybe they started to prepare for it so early they never got the time. One could think that people here aren´t into sports at all. 🙁

And as for venting. I want the snow to go away! It´s been here too long now. I know some of you just got it and are happy for that but here it´s enough. Please go away.

I had my exam today, and now I'm gonna have to wait effing 5 hours til I have class! Who makes these idiotic timetables??!??
And also...we'll get the results in a week, the answer key together with our grade...would it be so hard to just put the answer key NOW so we could figure out our grade ourselves? In every other block it was handled like this, but noooo, apparently here they don't see us fit to do that.

My ribs are really hurting and I dont know why, I didnt do anything else to them :'( They should be better by now.

Okay, this is going to be a complete random rant, and probably one I'm gonna get loads of (negative) karma over, but it's just something I need to get off my chest. Believe me, I'm not as shallow as I might seem 😉
Here we go:

Why is it that, increasingly, people look down upon educated people? I mean, I don't know about other countries but I'm quite sure this also counts for the UK and the US for example, but here in Holland 'the intellectuals' is almost always used as something with highly negative connotations. We (meaning these intellectuals) are always taught not to look down on people who didn't go to university and went on to get a job straigt after high school, and I don't and I always correct people who do, because it's unfair to judge people on (part of) their mental capabalities only, so why does it happen increasingly that we ARE judged based solely on the fact that we go to university? It's happened that, for example, in the supermarket I used to work, I told people I was going to university and more often than not the reaction was something like "Oh really, bet you want to make sh*tloads of money then" or "oh, look at you being important". Dutch politics also has recently adopted a more "popular" (ie simple) style, trying to reach the masses, who, honestly, rarely vote and if they do, mostly vote for the guy who promises to create more jobs by kicking all the foreign workers out anyway.
I realise that I am extremely fortunate with the fact that I belong to the ~3 % who gets an academic education, even though I'm getting myself into some serious debt to pay for it. But being smart in the high IQ kind of way isn't something to be ashamed of, right? (Or am I grossly misunderstanding something here?) I don't brag, I don't (often) bore people who really don't care with all the ins and outs of recent european history or the concepts behind political philosophy, and I respect the people who don't go to university. I just hate it when people seem to assume that they're worth more than me because they know a lot about cars, and I a lot about what happened in the 19th century.

Ok, can´t get my thoughts down in one karmacomment. :( So I´ll just say "Be proud of yourself and try not to listen to them. "
Yeah I see your point.

A couple of years ago I was talking with a guy who was wanting to become an engineer for cars or stuff like that. I told him, I'm planning to go to university and he was more than bemused by the idea. For him, the educated people are arogant and don't really know stuff about the essential things. Or I'm just talking with an Austrian friend and she said, that it is ironic, that the Austrian government wants more people to be academics, but in reality, you need to have loads of unpaid internships and stuff to have a chance as an acedemic, otherwise your unemployed. It's really ironic and discriminatory.

Well anyway, my rant is going to be about my own smartness 😀

I've to write a 30 page group paper with 10 people, which is going to be annoying on its own, but the paper is going to be about Belgium. Anyway, beforehand we have to write loads of preliminary papers. Until next week's wednesday, I have to read a book about Belgium and also I have to review it. Smart as I am, I thought I could have a go at a Dutch book about Belgium, but like 10 seconds after I signed myself up for it, I thought, that this is going to be unnecessary work for me. I hope I can get some housemated to help me out. I don't speek the feckin language 😀

Hates snowy days.

Not because I don't love the snow, on the contrary, its my favourite weather condition, no its because I had a walk in the park today that was so beautiful and it was one of those relevatory moments when you wish you had someone to share it with.
Or the night walk in the snow followed by some heavy duty romantic snuggling watching old movies and drinking hot chocolate.

Oh well, least it only snows once a decade!
