I have much to vent about!
I think we should all have a moment of silence on behalf of my old computer. My MacBook had been through quite a bit with me. But unfortunately, all things must meet their demises eventually, and that's what happened. I was innocently drinking a cup of soda while watching Into the Woods, and I reached to get a sip, but, because I wasn't too focused, I tipped it over and the whole thing spewed all over my poor ol' lappytop. I immediately started cleaning it with a paper towel, but that didn't work. After that, I went to get a hairdryer to dry it off (thank god I didn't get electrocuted), but that clearly didn't help the fact that soda is an acidic liquid and at that point, it had probably seeped into my hard drive and made it go kablooey. So, after spending some time in intensive care, I lost it (and my Buffy season 5 disc 3.) After much mourning (okay, fine, just a lot of yelling because I had a paper to write), I found my brother's old laptop. After some fixing up, it was good as new (but it still doesn't have a battery, so I have to keep it plugged in.)
I soon found that my brother's old computer was better than the one I had, but that isn't exactly a good thing. As I was looking around, I stumbled upon an icon hidden in the applications folder. It was a little game called World of Warcraft...and, to top it all off, it was the brand new expansion (my brother was using this computer while his was getting fixed, and I guess he decided to download it.) I played WoW before, but eventually stopped because it was far too time consuming and my life was getting hectic. Instead of ignoring it like I probably should have, I decided to make a trial account and figured, "Oh, I'll just stop in 10 days." Of course, anyone who's ever played the game knows that such a feat is impossible. I wound up playing for, like, 4 hours straight after I first made my account, and afterwards, I felt really bad and wound up taking my dog for a two hour-long walk, studied until my brain felt like it was going to dribble out of my ears, and stayed at my friend's house for the night. I hoped that would clear my mind, but again, I was wrong...as soon as I got home, the only thing I could think was, "MUST PLAY WORLD OF WARCRAFT." And I just bought the full version (with overnight shipping, too, because I figured it was worth the extra $10 for some reason.) I shall now hang my head in shame.
Oh, now for what's pissing me off. Today, my lang and comp teacher assigned us into groups of four, and it wound up being me, a friend of mine, and two guys that are failing the class (their parents clearly made them take it.) We got a sheet with 100 questions on it, and we decided to divide them up..."divide" being the loosest of terms. I have to do 47 questions, my friend 33, and the two other guys 10. Plus, I have to do all of them by Wednesday, even though I have band practice for 2 hours tonight and tomorrow night, and, considering I usually like to be very thorough with my answers, I probably won't be getting much sleep until then. The worst part, though, was that we had to put all of the answers on one document, and I asked them to send their answers to me. They responded by saying that they didn't want to give their emails to someone they didn't know that well (their SCHOOL EMAILS, mind you), and instead told us to print out our papers and plan to physically cut and paste them onto sheets of paper. Oh, yeah, I'm sure that's perfectly acceptable in an AP class. I think Blondie the super professor should march over here and kick their asses.
