Vent 1 - Overzealous moderators. To me, essentially, the majority of decisions made by moderators are judgement calls. You don't need to read a thesis on judgement, or some books on the 'subject'. Essentially all you have to do is grab a dictionary, and read a definition of judgement. Here is a link to such dictionary definition.

Vent 2 - Friends are the new family. Uhm, what? Suddenly your friends dna changes? Their genes transform into the genes that they would have if they had the same mother and father as you? This 'friends are the new family' applies
for a period of time, so somehow it should apply to everybody. Basically what I'm saying is, 'friends is the new family' is a pile of bullshit.
Yes, there are people that fall out with their fmaily, and don't speak again for a long time, or in some cases, never again. but this is rare.
Fall out(big time) with a friend, you don't have family weddings, funerals, anniversaries, to see these people again, and have no apparent opportunities to reconcile these differences.
I mean, I'm coming into this post just today having a HUGE argument with my two closest friends. Right now I just don't see us fixing this problem. Who did I go to to help me deal with this, duh, one of my family.
Because, at the end of the day, no matter what differences you have with them, your family are your blood. And no matter what happens, THAT will never change. Your friends, in my experience, change like the weather.
