The series that gave us Alyson Hannigan as Trina Echolls, Charisma Carpenter as Kendall Casablancas, and even Joss Whedon as a whacked out car rental agent has been cancelled.

The CW had already faced major changes in its second year. The network created out of the ashes of the former WB and UPN had already ended the long-running family dramas "7th Heaven" and "Gilmore Girls." On Thursday the ax fell on "Veronica Mars," which starred
Kristen Bell as a wisecracking teenage private eye.

Honestly, Veronica should have moved to the WB last year, and UPN and WB should have just stayed seperated. UPN could have strived for the whatever the CW is trying to strive for, and we could still have good shows on.
 
aarghhhh... i currently feel like abusing the english language very much so!!! arrgghhh...

right, so why cant american tv show execs realise when they have a great show on their network!!! and after only three seasons they pull the plug on one of the critics favourites... hello, critics loving your show usually means its a pretty good damn show!!! arrghhh...

so, get this.
buffy finished and instead of tuning into Veronica Mars as so many Buffy fans reccomended, I began watching The O.C. (which by the way, I actually agree was nearing cancellation)... I literally was on Tv Links three weeks ago and have watched every episode back to back since then of Veronica Mars and I am addicted...

Why oh why do they have to go and cancel the shows that the population of people with brains enjoy?

There are so many TV shows out there these days that you watch and nothing seems to be a suprise, you've seen the characters before, its all just eye candy and thats it. I swear, one of these days I shall personally shout at a TV executive for cancelling great TV.

You wanna know the thing that really annoys me? Josh Schwartz, creator of The O.C., has nabbed Kristen Bell to do the narration on his new show 'Gossip'... well fun fun fun.. but I tell ya, Veronica Mars? Now that, was silver screen television.

Fans, we're gonna have to go find another show to become addicted to.. I dunno about you, but I'm getting really annoyed at execs taking my favourite shows off air.
 
I didn't watch the show at all...but my condolences to you die hard fans. I have felt your post-cancellation outrage and pain many a time.
But, no use in railing against the dying of the light of good TV....network execs are always gonna be stooopid.

Oh, but hey, at least we can look forward to more busty ladies prostituting themselves in the hopes of becoming the next Pussycat Doll.

So they take ratings only from American viewers or international viewers as well?

Because after watching it on tv in Australia when it was first airing season 1, I got hooked, and then they took it off air, so i had to start downloading it in time with America. Thousands and Thousands of people around the world download it because it doesn't air in their country.

Gah i LOVE this show.
 
This sucks so much. Hm, when I first heard about the FBI thing they might would do for the next season I thought it was a really stupid idea and that they should just cancel it instead. But I got used to the idea, and after these last few episodes I just started feeling more and more how very upsetting a cancellation would be.. To quote Rob Thomas, this is a Very, very, very sad day.

This is just, gah. I mean I started watching BtVS after the show was already over and done. Veronica Mars is the second (to BtVS) best show I've ever watched, and this show I actually got to see while it aired (or you know, almost), this is very sad, it deserved more seasons, without a doubt...

This was my favorite show, and even though season three had its ups and downs, I was still eager for a season four. This is just so...grr. I'm totally going to have a Mars-a-thon now.
 
The only show Joss Whedon named the true successor to btvs is dead. Its unfair. Its not right. Its wrong in every possible way. *sigh*
 
I still keep reading on www.tv.com that they still had not made a final decision on Veronica Mars, and that it may not be made for another month, as although it's not listed for the Fall, it's not listed amongst their cancelled shows either.

Hence Season fnale, and not Series finale.........

....hey, a girl can hope, can't she? 😉
 
Im still holding out til theres a final decision. Or until the end of the year, and it just doesnt start. Ive got lots and lots of hope for this one...

Or it could be like Family guy! That was canceled, but then there was a huge amount of people buying the dvds, that they started it up again.

ROUNDUP. After three years of scraping the bottom of the ratings barrel, “Veronica Mars” takes her last case tonight at 8 in a two-hour finale on The CW. Featuring a petite blond teenage detective who was more Philip Marlowe than Nancy Drew, “Mars” was as critically acclaimed as it was perennially underwatched. Here are a few things we’ll miss most about the show.

Season-long mystery arcs

The labyrinthine “Lost” only wishes it could weave a web like the first season of “Mars,” which solved three mysteries — a bloody death, missing parent and rape — after a season of sleuthing, suspects and red herrings. The second season’s murders weren’t quite as compelling, but they boasted the same disciplined storytelling.

Class warfare

“The OC” may have tossed a poor boy into the lap of luxury, but “Mars” truly grappled with class differences. In the fictional hamlet of Neptune, the privileged wealthy clashed with lower-class gangs, leaving middle-class Veronica in the

middle without any easy answers.

Neon noir

The look of “Mars” was refreshingly unique; it had one foot firmly in the tradition of Raymond Chandler — mysterious dames and smoky doorways aplenty — and the other in the too-bright garishness of Southern California.

Who’s your Daddy?

Counterbalancing every cheat, liar and murderer in Neptune was Veronica’s detective dad Keith. The former Sheriff Mars was always at the ready to rescue his daughter from peril, impart goofy wisdom and remind her to always, always take Backup (that would be the family dog).

I don't know. I liked it. I liked it a lot. I liked it tons better than last season's, although not nearly as much as the first. I mean yeah there were all those story threads left dangling, and it was far from a happy ending, but I'm guessing that's because the episode was made before they found out the series was canceled.

That finale sure showed there was still life left in the series though, if you ask me. I really want to see season 4 now.

Unfortunately...
 
I liked both episodes, really glad that they brought up some old stuff and that Mac, Wallace, Logan, Dick and also Weevil we're all there and so much.

I agree. I want a season 4 even more after this, there's so much more to tell.
 
Definitely. It was a great season finale but but but.. wasn't really a series finale. Like I've already said at other places, I think the episode ended too abruptly and left too many things open.. hm.
