Veronica Mars gets 3 more episodes!

Im not seeing the problem with the little mysteries to be honest. I seem to be the only one. I fail to see how that can make the show less enjoyable. Its the same characters, the same writing, just different stories. How can that make it worse?

Because the show lacks direction. It almost feels like the writers are making a show just for the sake of making a show and not because they have something to say. The season 3 episodes are feeling empty, there is no driving force and it just feels like the show is floating around, in limbo. With season 1 it was necessary for Veronica to solve Lily's murder because it was an integral part of moving on with her life. That season long mystery drove Veronica forward.

Without a season long mystery what is the pull, the lure that brings you back each week?

I still love the show. For the same reasons I loved season 1 and 2. Its well written and I love the characters. Surely thats enough of a reason?

I watch for the characters and I do enjoy the little mysteries, but to me, a huge part of the show's appeal is that she's solving an overall mystery each season, which she investigates while doing the small things. This season I haven't had a problem with a single "small" mystery. I was intrigued by the rapist thing but I wasn't that into it until later on. But I even found the episode about the missing playbook enjoyable.

I think this show is still great, maybe a little weaker than it used to be...probably just because of the highly experimental season, the staff isn't sure what to do to please The CW, etc. If they get renewed I think season four could be back to the excellence of the first two seasons, but I'd still watch if it wasn't, unless it just got plain terrible.

From E!s Kristin's Blog:-

You may have seen my earlier report that Veronica Mars has been canceled.

Well, let me just say that though I heard this heart-wrenching info from six--yes, six--reliable sources on both the network and studio side...apparently that news may have been somewhat misguided. See, although this "cancellation" rumor ran rampant around all sectors of Hollywood today, it turns out the picture is more complex than a straight canceled-or-not-canceled scenario.

At this hour, here's what I can tell you:

I just heard from Veronica mastermind and showrunner Rob Thomas, who tells me, "If we're cancelled, I certainly don't know about it."

And according to CW insiders, the CW has not officially canceled Veronica Mars. However, here's the catch: They are currently considering a different format for the fourth season. From what I hear, that format would leap four years into the future and focus on Veronica Mars as an FBI agent. Aside from returning star Kristen Bell (duh), the rest of the cast is yet to be determined, but it isn't likely that many of her current co-stars would be on board.

So bottom line: Veronica Mars could be: 1) spinning off into a new format, 2) returning in her college years or 3) getting canceled.

And let me just say, number 3 could be a very real possibility, so it is most definitely time to rally the troops before it's too late! If you care about Veronica Mars and want it to survive (and if you're a fan of good TV, I know you do!), please comment below with your name and message of support. And email your friends the link of this column so they can do the same. (I will forward your comments to the powers that be at the CW.)

Then, please send your "Save Veronica" postcard or letter to:

Please let them not cancel the show! 🙁 I hope they choose to renew it as it is, or even go with the jumping ahead idea........

Yea, I want the show as it was, not four years into the future with totally different characters.. :/

I don't know now, I think it could be kinda intresting. I doubt they would get rid of all the cast, but I think it would be a least intresting - like MG said anything is better then being cancelled.

Anything to get the show brought back...I do think having Veronica in the FBI would be very interesting. But just think of all that character development and stuff that takes place in those four years that we won't see, Veronica will be (or should be) in a different stage. It will be weird, unless they use flashbacks constantly (which I liked in season one).

Mm, I'm worried that they take away all the other characters though, please let us keep Keith at least. But the use of flashbacks again would be great(if they do it as good as they used to) and to have the other characters show up there..

I seriously think I'd prefer it if they cancelled the show. Hm. That way I'd have my two awesome VM seasons, and one third okay/good season and then it was over. I don't want it to get worse and bad and end up something completely different than it was supposed to be.

But I don't know. At the same time I want Veronica Mars at any cost, heh.

I say let them run with the FBI idea, I'd rather that then canceled!

The O.C. had an amazing first season, ok second, not so good third and a pretty good forth. so Maybe the same thing could work for VM!

Everybody keeps hating on the third season, which I just don't get. I've thought it's been really good, overall. As engrossing as the first two seasons? No. But still one of the best on TV. I've enjoyed every episode. And if it does come back set in the future, that could reinvigorate the show. It wouldn't be totally different, it would still be neo-noirish, Veronica would still be snarky, she'd still have friends and a love life...hopefully Logan will be long gone.

I agree. I love season 3. I dont wnat Logan to go though :(
I'll be sad if theres no mac!!

But if they aren't going to use Mac anyway... I just don't get it. It was good to see Tina Majorino aka Mac get significant screen time in "Mars, Bars", the second to last episode before the hiatus. It was nice seeing Mac so happy. But what happened to the anticipated Mac-ness this midseason? This show has a suite of talented young regulars in the cast, imo mostly underutilized this season except for Jason Dohring. I mean Wallace and Mac -- they are supposed to be Veronica's best friends, yet it seems we've seen them less than we have Richard Casablancas. Whatsup with that??

I for one am annoyed at this show. Much as I like Kristen Bell aka Veronica Mars, if BtVS had been as Buffy-centered as VM is Veronica-centered, I don't think it would have been nearly as good or endured as long as it did.

Well said! Esp about Buffy
Ah mac...Season 1 will always be close to my heart.

I dont like Logan and Veronica together, but i get annoyed at him flirting with Parker. Pfft!

So where would official word come about the shows cancellation?

I think this season has been ok, definitely not as good as the two first season but I still enjoyed most of the episodes, but it's just something that isn't there.. hm.
