Well, if it doesn't that was a pretty strange finale. 😉 More Joss and Alyson, now that's the question...

I honestly don't care if Alyson (or Joss, lol) is on the show or not, same goes for Charisma, but I am so very very very happy that there'll be more Veronica Mars. This is for sure the best show airing´now, mmhm.

Excellent, this means I can watch season two (Stupid far behind TV over here) knowing there's another!! But I don't like that bit about cutting it down to 13 if the ratings aren't great, did the ratings drop last year?

It certainly looked to me like Charisma Carpenter's Kendall character would be back if the show were renewed.

Seems to me that if Jason Dohring (Logan) stays in the picture the opportunity will remain for Alyson Hannigan's Trina character to pay a visit.

There is a considerable transition afoot as the show leaves the setting of Neptune High School behind. Buffy was able to make that change quite well, in retrospect, although a lot of people bash Season 4.

My impression is that Veronica Mars has continued to struggle in the ratings in its second season. A bit better than in its first, but its performance hasn't been stellar. Of course for much of the season it was competing against American Idol on FOX. But I think it's become something of a prestige show for UPN, now to become CW. That can help a show to survive, West Wing on NBC kept going for a while even as its ratings were fading.

Season One Ratings
Season Two Ratings

Ignoring the part after the / (usually four) on average the season one ratings for 21 episodes (M.A.D. is missing for some reason is) 2.5

On average for season two is 2.6, so a very slight increase. But you can see how the various hiatuses (hiati?) in the middle disrupted it all.

Hopefully next season's ratings should be better. While its not announced tomorrow its likely Gilmore Girls will be its lead-in, which will be more suitable. Plus I doubt they'll put it up against Lost again.

Ooops! Thanks for the correction and the info-I don't watch "Lost" or "American Idol", hence the confusion, LOL!
I am so glad. I love this show! The cliffhanger wasn't as gripworthy as the first season finale, but I have to know what's so important that Keith didn't show up at the airport.

Didn't Tru Calling have a similar deal to what's described there, where they signed for 22, but made 13? I'm trying to remember how that one worked out. I know Fox screwed them over. Didn't they just air 6 of the 13 made at first, then scatter another 6 throughout the year or something. I don't think they ever did air number 13. That was Fox though, maybe the new CW will be classier. One can hope, I guess.

Yeah tru calling season 2 was ordered for 22 episodes, but then it got cut to 13, but then it got canceled, and they didn't show either the last two episodes or just the last one!

I just started watching this show regularly and I was really looking forward to watching the finale but I missed it. I was so mad. I'm glad that it's getting another season. Does anyone know if the finale is gonna air again?

This makes me so happy, I was so nervous before that it wouldn't come back, because this really is the best thing on TV right now! Hope that more people will understand how great the show is now so it gets better ratings, 13 episodes is better than nothing but this is a show that really deserves more.

Between UPN and WB, twelve current shows are on the new CW network schedule. Eight of them have the most viewership on the two networks, Veronica Mars ranks 17th. But VM got renewed whereas Everwood which ranks 9th did not. Here is an article from thefutoncritic.com:

So ratings aren't everything. Anyway the show is getting at least another half season to further build its audience.

i love this show! i'm glad it got renewed.

@VisionGuy: the s2 finale should play eventually, b/c they're re-running season 2 during summer on UPN, so just keep watching.

i think the show is going to get better ratings this season, IMO, partly b/c now gilmore girls will lead into it instead of airing against it.
