Veruca-who else hates her?

she was really annoying and i didnt like her voice. but the main reason why i hate her is that she didnt care about Willow, she thought she was better than her and she even tryed to kill my poor little Willow!! :mad39: :cussing2:

i didn't particularly like veruca (who does, it seems?) but i thought she was an awesome character that was kind of essential to oz's and therefore willow's growth. i loved the whole oz taming the wolf inside him thing and realizing that it is inside him all the time, and i thought it was really interesting to see what he could be (like veruca) if he hadn't. of course, i hated that veruca broke up willow and oz, but then we got tara so i can live haha.

Well i am a huge Oz/Willow fan, more than Tillow *don't hit me* so yeah, I think its safe to say I hate her. Oz had a momentary crazy stint, cause yeah she was also all wolfy but other than that he would never had looked twice her way. Also the actress bugs me... she was supopsed to be all sexy, but she really isn't that attractive a girl, IMO. Anyone old enough out there remember her from Beverly Hills 90210 as the crazy girl that single white femaled Kelly and tried to take her down in a double suicide? Maybe I just kinda hate her from then too....

I had to watch that episode because I'm rewatching Buffy (for the second time) in conjuction with Angel and I still loath Veruca.

I understand why she was there and it was a good idea with Oz and the whole werewolf thing but she was just so irritating...

I kinda hate her, kinda like her. I always find characters like her interesting, people with souls, who choose a darker path. In buffy, you usually get you're two types, the scoobies, good people who do good things, and the demons who do the bad. I like those in- between characters. Oz seems to attract them, Pete in "Beauty and the Beasts", probably one of the darkest characters in the show. Kane the werewolf hunter, all about the money, didn't matter to him that werewolves were humans to. Veruca was the flip side to Oz, both had souls, both made different choices. I liked seeing what Oz could have become. And nearly did. Oh and her stomach tattoo, was pretty cool.

Thought the character was great. She was the only one with enough respect for Oz to treat him as he was, not as others would like him to be. Oz didnt like Willow doing the magic all the time but he never tried to get her to repress it. Veruca accepted Oz when no one else did. They shamed him into a cage.

well, better a cage than killing people and animals 3 nights out of every month...veruca didn't fully understand her power, the power inside of her--she just gave over to the darkness without thinking about the consequences. oz and the gang accept people/creatures with "darkness" in them, but they also teach them about their power, teach them how to understand it and control it and use it for something other than evil. i think it was awesome that oz had to go and learn how to cope with the wolf inside him. (not that that was much fun for willow, but...putting her aside for now)

Darkness? Who said it WAS a darkness? And Vercua wasnt even a 'bad guy' until she saw Willow going to curse Oz.

Yet they never accepted Oz. Even the situation you described never happened. They never 'taught' him anything, never made an attempt to help him control it. They just locked him up. How is that helping him?

I dislike her for what she did to the Oz/Willow relationship. With that being said I did like what she represented. She was animalistic and not afraid to do whatever she wanted. I liked the dynamic she brought.

Ok, so I actually liked Veruca's character up until she showed no remorse whatsoever for what she and Oz did the morning they woke up in the woods together. I kinda felt like they changed her character midway through the ep... At first she was cool, and even nice enough not to make Willow feel stupid when she didn't know what they were talking about with the music speak. She even complimented her shirt! And then all of a sudden she's this slutty little vixen who's out to take Oz from her? It seemed kind of disconnected, and I didn't like that. If Veruca had stayed true to her original personality traits, I thought she had potential to be an awesome character on the show.

I do agree, though, for a girl who's supposed to be so sexy, Paige Moss isn't really the one I would have cast in that role.

Veruca sucked. The actress was pretty enough but she was so overacted and her lip-syncing was horrid. The character was a bitch, as most of you said, she was designed to be that way. She was a necessary evil to the plot line of the story but I loved Willow and Oz as a couple and the fact that Oz turned out to be capable of cheating, even as a warewolf made me nauseous... and made me hate Veruca even more.
