Very Bad Koalas: Webcomic by Nick!

I read on Whedonesque today that Nicholas Brendon has teamed up with Steve Loter and Rafael Santiago to make a new Webcomic about law-breaking Koala Bears,

Nicholas Brendon (actor/writer/producer), Steve Loter (animation director/producer) and Rafael Santiago (illustrator/filmmaker) present a unique webcomic that will give you second thoughts about the cuddly, cute marsupials.

VERY BAD KOALAS follows the journey of two sheltered and innocent koalas on the run from the law. They escape in their 1958 Cadillac El Dorado into the "out there" and experience people and places that will test their wills, their morals, their sanity and their nocturnal nature.

The koalas, Avery and Irving, are as far from criminals as they could possibly be. Wrongly accused, they break out of prison together and form an unlikely, co-dependent friendship. Their bizarre adventures will take them to exotic and scary places along the highway in the "out there." Unintentionally misguided by a hipster shaman gorilla, our heroes will encounter Amazon women elephants, Fleshies (furry animals who wear human costumes), a religious cult of highway-flattened animals, vampire turtles and a large variety of bizarre characters, each more twisted than the last. They will evade detectives, bounty hunters and their newfound fame as criminal media celebrities. They will unknowingly buy the Devil's used "GPS system," which will take them to different layers of hell. They'll unintentionally start a rampage of criminal copycats in the name of Avery and Irving. They will wonder if prison is better than what destiny has planned for them.

Now, it should be mentioned that I couldn't find any ratings on their website so I don't know if this is something for all ages or just the older fans. But it looks really cute, and the first episode has just been released for everyone (here) 😀


To me, this seems *exactly* the kind of project for Nick. Out of all the BTVS actors, he seems to have the weirdest sense of humor! 😉

It's alright, I guess. It seems to have the potential to be funny in a weird way. (sw) Can't say that I'll read more (not a comic person. 🙂 ) though. Unless someone tells me that it got good. 😛

I haven't had time to sit down and check it out yet, but I usually try to support all of Nick's projects, so this one will be no different. 🙂
