Who/What were the favorites of the producers or writers or directors or drawers or actors, or anyone who was professionally involved, in the Buffyverse? The person's favorite character/favorite pairing/favorite episode, etc. And conversely, who or what did they passionately hate? For example, SMG is a Bangel fan. In IWRY, she was really crying because she felt Buffy and Angel should end up together. And David Fury totally HATED Spike pre-soul (or at least his romantic entanglements with Buffy pre-soul). Include the articles/interviews if you can? I just think all this is really interesting, when it comes to those people's opinions who actually have a say in the direction the show takes. Of course, their opinions can change over time. Like how Joss didn't want any good vampires at first, but Angel ended up getting his own show, and Joss had said how Spike was one of his most developed characters.

She's also a Spuffy fan, she was the one who came to Joss and suggested the Buffy and Spike idea. And IWRY was before Spuffy, so....

I heard about her going to Joss with the idea of Spike as a love interest, but I had also read loads of her pro-Bangel comments even after that happened. Lemme go see if I can dig up anything... Ah, she said, "I think Buffy was greatly in love with Angel. It will always be Angel! Nothing in her life will ever compare to that..." in 2002. I think. According to some sources, which may not be entirely reliable. It's just that almost all the interviews I see have her supporting Bangel ttm.

She does support Bangel, I'm not saying she doesn't. But she also supports Spuffy, and there are quotes for that too.

Most Spuffies didn't. Most Spuffies want a big love between Buffy and Spike, rather than a sex based relationship. That doesn't mean Spuffies don't like Buffy and Spike right?

Honestly, though, I think that if they had written the pairing differently I would have no qualms about Spuffy. Like that one episode in S7 where Buffy wanted Spike to just hold her? I really liked that.
I really believe that the pairing would've been different if they hadn't done the whole Buffy-has-trouble-dealing-with-resurrection-so-she-has-rough-and-somewhat-violent-sex-with-Spike-in-order-to-cope 'storyline'. I would much rather have it develop organically, like they portrayed with Angel, but maybe that's why they did it like that; because Spike is pretty much the antithesis of him, sort of.
Anyways, going back to the original topic, I have to say I love Joss' writing/directing combined. He has style that no other person can match, as far as I've seen.
Also, I absolutely hated Marti Noxon all throughout Season 6/7 [and it continued beyond the Buffyverse]. But my opinion is changing slightly because I watched "Surprise" last night and - surprise! She was the one who wrote that episode that I love dearly.

I can't give you any karma, but I'm glad you said that. I'm a Spuffy, but I actually prefer Bangel to Season 6's Spuffy sex based relationship (although Spuffy is awesome from the end of Season 5 - Season 6 before the sex scenes).
But Season 7 Spuffy is the bomb. <3

I think she believes in the Spuffy relationship and saw the beauty in it, which made her also a Spuffy shipper. People can be both, I think she is one of those.
James on the other hand, it's pretty clear that he's a Bangel. And that's okay. It doesn't really matter what the cast believes in, they just deliver the story the best way the can. James was that good, that he made me fall in love with Spuffy. So it doesn't matter what he believes in, as long as he delivers it as if he believes in the thing that he's supposed to seem like he believe in. Spike believes in Spuffy, and James makes it seem like he does too, even though he doesn't. It's true for the rest of the cast.

I, on the other hand, like to hear, and respect actor's opinions. Of course, I'm not going to change my shipping preferences because of them, but it's always nice to hear that an actor who plays one of the characters supports and believes in the ship.
It's really fun for me to hear Sarah talking passionately about Bangel, because Sarah is my favorite actress, Buffy ma favorite character and Bangel my favorite ship 😀

As you said, it is interesting to hear the actors' opinion but it wouldn't change minds. I like to know as much as I can about them because I'm a fan, even things I don't agree with. Still, a fan. Sarah is my favorite actress too and I really like hearing her out, and even if she supports Bangel, doesn't mean I won't like her. Again, about James, he's my favorite actor. And as much as I don't agree with his views on Spuffy and Bangel, I still adore him and interested in his opinion.
And Sarah talks passionately about almost everything, mostly about her work, I've always noticed that. She loves what she does and it's noticable. If she didn't have any opinion about Buffy (the show) that would have shown less care for it, so I'm really glad to hear her talk and understand about Buffy. It shows that she cares, she has opinions.

I can have loads of views on the Buffy cast and crew but to be honest I know incredibly little about what they prefer in terms of characters, relationships and such. Someone make a list and I'll tell who I agree with most.
Lots to say here too but I think I should pass besides saying that people in general have a hard time shutting up about something they're passionate about.

Exactly... Let's remember, folks, what the OP asked. This is not a ship debate; it's a question about who were the writers'/producers' favorites.
I think it's pretty obvious that Aly and James were both favorites of the writers and producers. Both of them earn nothing but praise in commentaries on the DVDs and look at how much screentime and the story arcs their characters got.

The writers and producers are the heart of Buffy and Angel. They're the ones who did all the work and never get any credit.
Regarding writers, I can't stand Doug Petrie (As You Were, The Yoko Factor). He writes Spike terribly; selfish, arrogant, and out-of-character. He did write Fool For Love, though. So, he's not completely awful.
Drew Goddard is FANTASTIC. He wrote Damage and The Girl In Question.
Jane Espenson is awesome writer, of course and has written some of series' best (Band Candy, Pangs, Life Serial) and she writes great Spuffy. If there is any TV writer I idolize, it's her.
Steven S. DeKnight, who also wrote for Angel, did write Inside Out, my most hated episode in all of the Buffy/Angelverse, but I won't hold it against him 😉
Rebecca Rand Kirshner wrote Tabula Rasa and also Potential, which I think are both teriffic eps.
David Fury and Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain wrote a lot of good eps for Angel including the Faith arc (around Calvary, Salvage, Release, Orpheus) and a lot of S5.
Regarding producers, I thought Marti Noxon did a great job.
Honestly, I could go on forever. For me, it's not the actors I worship, it's the writers. They're the ones who wrote the story, and it was only up to the actors to bring it to life.
Who do I hate? Scott Allie, for one. I got the distinct feeling he was always making fun of us.
So glad to see Andrew Chambliss on board this season. His writing for Dollhouse was great, and I know he also writes for TDV (although I do not watch that).
