OK, I'm cookie dough. I'm not done baking. I'm not finished becoming whoever the hell it is I'm gonna turn out to be. I make it through this, and the next thing, and the next thing, and maybe one day I turn around and realize I'm ready. I'm cookies. And then, you know, if I want someone to eat"” (eyes go wide as she catches herself) or enjoy warm, delicious cookie me, then...that's fine. That'll be then. When I'm done.
CUT TO:
BUFFY
Be a long time coming. Years, if ever.
ANGEL
(shrugs) I ain't getting any older. (walks away)
CUT TO:
26 INT. LIVING ROOM AT BUFFY'S HOUSE - DAY
CAMERA ON: Buffy, she is addressing a living room full of potentials and her friends.
BUFFY
In every generation, one slayer is born...
CUT TO:
BUFFY
I say we change the rule. I say my power...
26a INT. PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE AT SUNNYDALE HIGH - DAY
Kennedy sits up smiling and confident.
BUFFY (V.O.)
...should be our power.
36 INT. HALLWAY AT SUNNYDALE HIGH - DAY
CAMERA ON: Bringers have made their way to the fight and are attacking Andrew. Anya fights them off, but there are too many. While she stabs one with her sword, another slices diagonally though her torso from behind, killing her.
CUT TO:
37 INT. HELLMOUTH - DAY
CAMERA ON: Spike gasps and stumbles backward away from the fight as he clutches his chest, then his burned hand.
SPIKE
Oh, bollocks.
A bright blue light shoots up from the amulet, knocking a hole in the ceiling, going up through the floor of the Principal's office past Willow and through to the open sky. The light turns a warm orange colour.
CUT TO:
41 INT. HELLMOUTH - DAY
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and SPIKE, holding hands.
BUFFY
(softly, looks into his eyes) I love you.
SPIKE
No, you don't. But thanks for saying it.
CUT TO:
45 INT.HELLMOUTH - DAY
CAMERA ON: Spike stands in the crumbling hellmouth with light shining down on him from above, grinning from ear to ear and laughing as he burns up from the sunlight.
SPIKE (V.O.)
I wanna see how it ends.
He dusts slowly"”first his skin singes, then his muscles, then his bones"”then he's gone. The hellmouth crumbles in around him.
CUT TO:
49 EXT. SCHOOL BUS - DAY
CAMERA ON: Buffy is still staring at the canyon that once was Sunnydale. Dawn stands beside her, then Giles joins them, as do Xander, Willow, and Faith.
FAITH
Looks like the hellmouth is officially closed for business.
CUT TO:
As the others chatter around her, Buffy just stares straight ahead at the hole formerly known as Sunnydale. As she contemplates what's next, she smiles.

1 INT. EMERGENCY CENTER - DAY
CAMERA ON: A lady behind the counter, BUFFY in front of it.
LADY
Ok, last one, where are you moving?
BUFFY
Edmonsville, California.
10 INT. LUNCH ROOM - DAY
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX.
DAWN
Hi, I'm Dawn.
CUT TO:
35 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE KITCHEN - NIGHT
LUX
I'm Lux.
BUFFY
You promise to let me train you.
DAWN (surprised)
Are you kidding? Off course I will, that's just so-o-o wild!!!
BUFFY
Well I'm glad you think about it this way, but I promise you, I'm not easy.
DAWN
So, does this like mean, you will be going to slay again?
BUFFY
No-no-no! I'll just train you, apart from that, I'm just a girl.
TEASER
1 EXT. ALLEY BEHIND SILVERDUST - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A Stake. ZOOM OUT: KENNEDY stakes a huge vamp outside the Silverdust.
CAMERA TURNS TO
WILLOW
Way to go!
KENNEDY
I had help.
WILLOW
Just a locator. Few flashy lights... not much.
KENNEDY
Well it was useful and pretty
They laugh.
KENNEDY
You know, with all those nice lights I can hardly imagine you ever being Big Scary Willow.
WILLOW
You wouldn't want to.
(pause)
WILLOW
C'mon, let's go find Xander.
She grabs KENNEDY's arm, looks at her, then they walk back into Silverdust.
2 EXT. MONESTARY - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The monastery from above, we slowly ZOOM IN.
3 INT. MONESTARY - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: Large church hall. We hear a lot of noise. Some youngsters walk in, they're vampires, (vamp faced,) covered in blood.
VAMPIRE #1
How she screamed for mercy... as if.
VAMPIRE #2
You showed her mercy, you idiot. Drinking her yourself and not handing over to me!
The others laugh.
MONK (O.S.)
I'm sorry I must have missed the joke, could you repeat that?
CAMERA TURNS TO reveal a monk standing, leaning on the cross at the other end of the chapel. Light comes from the glass-in-lead behind him, making it impossible to see his face.
VAMPIRE #1
Oh, it's very funny; it's about some monk biting the dust.
ZOOM IN on the MONK's face, his fangs are revealed.
VAMPIRE MONK (Mumbling)
That's right, I'm gonna bite, and you'll be dust. How's that for funny?

4 INT. SILVERDUST - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and BUFFY talking and laughing. The music goes quieter as the camera nears WILLOW and KENNEDY entering Silverdust.
WILLOW
Hey guys!
BUFFY
Happy slaying?
KENNEDY
Yeah, Willow found the guy with a locater spell and I pummelled his ass.
DAWN
Go you!
BUFFY
You haven't been doing the slaying gig long, and you already know so much about the slayage. Impressive.
WILLOW
Definitely, when I had been in 'the know' for that long I was really bad at it.
KENNEDY
I'm sure you were great.
WILLOW
Well I did the occasional soul restoring, but apart from that I couldn't even levitate a pencil without shooting it at trees.
BUFFY and WILLOW both laugh and smile knowingly from the memory.
ANGLE ON: XANDER comes back from the dance floor and joins them.
XANDER
Awww, look at you guys! So sweet!
WILLOW gives XANDER a look, then smiles sweetly.
XANDER
Drink anyone?
BUFFY
Vodka on the rocks, if you please.
She smiles at XANDER, who raises his eyebrows.
WILLOW
Hmmm, I think I'll have a Dr. Pepper.
KENNEDY
Same here!
XANDER
How bout you, Dawnie?
DAWN
Uhmmm, Diet Coke?
XANDER
Sure thing. Be back in a minute.
He walks off to the bar.
BUFFY
Say Dawn, when do you want to train again?
DAWN
As soon as possible. I want to royally kick some demon butt.
BUFFY
It's not that easy, you know that
DAWN
Yeah, yeah!
WILLOW chuckles
WILLOW
Don't worry Dawnie. You're gonna be great and Buffy, you know she'll be fine, and she'll probably won't be slaying alone.
BUFFY
Not yet. She'd better not!
WILLOW wants to say something.
BUFFY
And don't tell me she won't, cause she will, she's a Summers. She doesn't even have to be half as headstrong as me to do it anyway. And lets face it, it's not like I can stop her then, can I? But I can still try.
5 INT. WILLOW AND KENNEDY'S DORM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW Sleeping, KENNEDY is reading up on demons.
KENNEDY
Wow, these look cool. I wonder how many of these Buffy's killed.
WILLOW starts to move about. She shakes and makes noises. WILLOW then jumps up.
KENNEDY
Will, what's wrong, bad dream?
WILLOW
And the understatement of the century award goes to.
KENNEDY
What happened?
WILLOW
It's... nothing, it doesn't matter.
KENNEDY
Are you sure, baby?
WILLOW
Yea, go back to your book.
KENNEDY looks at her with confusion. Then she continues to read.
KENNEDY
Hey Will? I was wondering, do you know which of these demons Buffy killed. Willow?
She looks up, but WILLOW is asleep
6 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE KITCHEN - DAY
CAMERA ON: BUFFY comes strolling into the kitchen in her pyjamas, with a pretty obvious hangover. XANDER's humming.
BUFFY
Hey Xand, knock it off. Aren't you supposed to be in Hangover Land too?
XANDER
Arrgh, ye girls can't hold yer liquor, but we pirates can drink till doomsday. Arrgh!
BUFFY sighs. She covers her ears, but Xander starts to whistle, loud enough to wake up the surrounding counties.
DAWN
Hey Xander, how are you this morning?
XANDER whistles at her.
DAWN
I see, and you Buff... hey, Buffy?... BUFFY!
BUFFY, still covering her ears, finally hears DAWN and turns around
DAWN
Never mind, I already know.
DAWN opens the fridge and looks around. Pulling out an apple, she turns back to BUFFY.
DAWN
Hey, can I go over to Lux's later?
BUFFY nods and winces.
BUFFY
Sure, you staying over?
DAWN
I haven't planned to, why?
BUFFY
Because, I had an extra training session scheduled in tonight.
DAWN (excited)
Sure, I'll work it out with Lux!
BUFFY
All righty then.
DAWN
Thank you so much, I know you didn't want me involved in the slayage and magick-y stuff, but you doing this for me, it means a lot.
BUFFY
You're welcome. You're growing up, and you're gonna need self-defence anyway. Might as well learn from me... 'cause you know, I kind of am the best!
DAWN
Yes you are. (under her breath) and not the least bit egotistical about it.
XANDER
Bout that. You've been intensively training for about three months now, is she getting any good? Should I be afraid of her?
BUFFY
She's great, but you know, nothing beats your army training... expect maybe mine.
DAWN
You guys, I'd better be going, or I'm gonna be late. See ya later!
BUFFY and XANDER
Bye!
BUFFY
Have a good day!
7 INT. PROFFESOR HEMMINGWAY'S COLLEGE CLASS - DAY
CAMERA ON: PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY lecturing the full class, BUFFY sneaks in through the back.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
-whereas this person would find the exact opposite because of his condition, because he doesn't have any fear at all. Now to give you a good example of a fearless person, take Miss Summers up there.
BUFFY stops moving.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
She certainly has no fear at all. To be late for my class, the condition we are talking about is really required. The fact that she tries to sneak in, thinking I won't notice, that's a whole different condition. Its scientific name is stupidity.
The class laughs BUFFY sits down.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Anyway, as I was saying-
His voice fades away.
FADE TO BLACK.
8 INT. PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY'S COLLEGE CLASS - DAY
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, who has dozed off. The bell rings, she wakes up. She starts packing her bags and prepares to leave.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Miss Summers... would you come here please?
BUFFY
Yep.
BUFFY walks down to his desk as the other students leave the classroom.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Now look, I don't mind you being late as much as I mind it that you don't catch up on the notes.
BUFFY
I'm sorry.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
I know you're new and I feel I should help you out.
BUFFY (surprised)
Oh well, that's... nice.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
I've taken the privilege of doing some things in advance.
He turns to his desk, picks up a pile of binders, turns around and hands them over to Buffy.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Copies of all my notes from previous years.
BUFFY
Thank you.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
I do expect you to read them carefully.
BUFFY (sarcastic)
Thanks a lot.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY (also with the sarcasm)
Don't mention it, it's my pleasure.
BUFFY (mumbling)
I'm sure it is.
9 INT. WILLOW AND KENNEDY'S DORM - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY walks in.
KENNEDY
Hey Will!
WILLOW
Hey, how was class?
KENNEDY
Snore... but I got Marine Bio next, should be cool.
WILLOW
When do you have it?
KENNEDY
In about an hour, why?
WILLOW
I need you're help. I just did a locator, and there's a vamp nest in town, only five of 'em, but still.
KENNEDY
Oh cool, count me in. I'm always up for slaying.
WILLOW (laughing)
You really enjoy this whole gig, don't you?
KENNEDY
Why wouldn't I?
WILLOW
I dunno...
KENNEDY
Ok, well I'm gonna go get them vamps right now, sun's out so I'm at an advantage, are you coming?
WILLOW
Nah, I have class in fifteen.
KENNEDY
Suit it yourself.
The phone rings.
WILLOW
Just a sec.

ACT II
10 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - DAY
CAMERA ON: The door from the hallway to the living room. XANDER and BUFFY sitting at the table. We hear the front door open. Then it closes, we hear some more noise, then DAWN enters.
DAWN
Hi!
Notices, them looking at her.
Something wrong?
BUFFY
Not at all.
DAWN
Then why-
XANDER nods at a package on the table, it's a wrapped gift.
DAWN
For me?
BUFFY nods.
DAWN walks over to the table and picks it up. She starts unwrapping; it's an antique wooden box. She opens it up and inside is Mr. Pointy himself. DAWN's mouth falls open.
There's a pause.
DAWN
Oh my god.
BUFFY
You're training is going into another level. Practice. And though I'm gonna be there to watch you work it from time to time, I'm not gonna back you up anymore. I though Mr. Pointy would come in handy with patrolling.
(Dawn smiles, blushes)
DAWN
Thank you so much.
DAWN hugs BUFFY.
BUFFY
I knew you'd like it.
A tear rolls down her face.
11 INT. DOWNTOWN VAMP LAIR - DAY
CAMERA ON: A wooden door (from the outside). Suddenly it gets kicked down by KENNEDY. She walks in.
KENNEDY
Hey, anyone home?
She looks around.
Oh, come on. Where you at?
She walks around.
KENNEDY (to herself)
Great going Ken... no vamps to kill.
She turns around a corner.
Oh god!
CAMERA TURNS around the corner to about twenty bodies lined up on the floor. The faces are almost blue, there are purple marks on their arms, and it looks like there had been some kind of Vamp party. There is blood everywhere.
KENNEDY slowly backs away.
KENNEDY (mumbling)
Oh. Eww... research is in order.
12 INT. WILLOW AND KENNEDYS DORM - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY comes running in.
KENNEDY
Those vamps must have sensed I was coming, 'cause when I got there, they were gone.
WILLOW
Are you sure you went to the right place?
KENNEDY
Will, I think I can take directions. And there were bodies.
WILLOW
Bodies?
KENNEDY
Yeah... they were lined up, they looked beaten and there was blood everywhere. I didn't want to go in further by myself. I wasn't sure how many or how strong they were, but by the looks of it, they weren't your average vampires.
WILLOW
We'll investigate later with Dawnie. You'd better hurry to Marine Bio now.
KENNEDY
Shoot, I'll blow it off. This is more important.
WILLOW
Class is important! Look, we won't do anything without you except research, just go!
KENNEDY
Ok ok... sheesh, the only thing worse then class is research.
WILLOW gives her a look. KENNEDY smiles, then leaves for class.
WILLOW picks up the phone and dials a number
WILLOW (on the phone)
Buffy... yeah, we've got her first mission; we'll be over in little over an hour.
13 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - DAY
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, DAWN, BUFFY and XANDER sitting around the table, with a map of the sewers in the centre.
WILLOW
So, most likely they went away through the sewers in broad daylight. There was nowhere else to go, right?
DAWN
Right.
WILLOW
No, they were close by this intersection, so they could have went anyway, however... they were most likely covered in blood, which, magically speaking, is easier to trace then breadcrumbs. So what we're going to do is go in, I'll do the mojo I do so well, and we can pick up the trail.
14 INT. VAMP LAIR - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, BUFFY, DAWN and XANDER walking around.
DAWN
Ew, it smells!
XANDER
That's the whole point, with the bodies and the blood tends towards the stinky.
WILLOW
Shhh!
CAMERA TURNS TO: WILLOW performing some kind of ritual (to track the blood).
KENNEDY sighs.
There's a flash of light.
WILLOW
Done!
KENNEDY
Finally, let's go!
KENNEDY descends into the sewers, the others follow.
DAWN
So we find them, and?
WILLOW
We fight.
15 INT. SEWER - DAY (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, WILLOW, DAWN, XANDER and BUFFY in the tunnel, looking at a trail of glow-in-the-dark blood.
BUFFY
Is this what I think it is?
WILLOW
Yes, pretty neat, wouldn't you say?
BUFFY rolls her eyes.
They start walking.
WILLOW
It's a pretty easy combination of two spells, one to locate the blood, and I connected the outcome of that spell with the second. Where I used it as a target, the second spell makes the target light up. It's a pretty common trick.
BUFFY
I'm sorry, but the combination of the glow in the dark blood and the murder of innocent people don't really go together, at least not in my mind.
WILLOW
I get your point, if you say it like that, it all sounds a lot less cute and all. But still it's gonna help us safe lives. Best to look at that bright side.
There's a pause.
DAWN
Is it just me, or has the word 'trap' popped into anyone else's mind? I mean, bodies conveniently found, vamps already gone, us now in a sewer? Who knows, they might be waiting for us around the corner, with God knows how many of them.
WILLOW
We have a Slayer, a Witch, a Xander and you. They still wouldn't stand a chance.
DAWN
Maybe not, but what if they blow the tunnels up? We could get trapped.
WILLOW
I'd probably be able to blast my way out, but you've got a point. Hey, Buff, did you teach her this too?
BUFFY
Don't look at me, I'm innocent. At least, about this.
DAWN
All I'm saying is this might not be the most tactical way to work.
WILLOW
Well, lucky for them vamps, you're not in charge. You're still a rookie, you know, by the time you've done some time, you can start telling us what's best and what's not. For now, you're gonna just have to trust us on this, and see whether you can survive a fight.
DAWN (angry)
Whatever.
She slows down and starts walking at the back with BUFFY.
DAWN
What's her deal?
BUFFY
Nothing, but she's sort of in charge, I guess she doesn't like you waltzing in on command.
DAWN
Well, what I said WAS true.
They stop at an intersection. There's one tunnel right ahead, with a sidewalk, and one to the right, with nothing but the water.
KENNEDY
What's next?
WILLOW
Well, there is a trail going right ahead, but it seems much older then the other one.
KENNEDY
What does that mean?
WILLOW
That at this intersection they jumped into the water to erase their tracks.
BUFFY looks at the water and makes a disgusted face.
KENNEDY
So we don't know where they went?
WILLOW
We have a fifty-fifty chance of being correct. But I have a hunch we'll find something if we go right.
KENNEDY
Because of the older tracks?
WILLOW
Yea, maybe they've used this as an escape route before.
DAWN
Plus it's better then going through there.
She points at the stream to the right.
KENNEDY starts walking again.
KENNEDY
Let's go!

ACT III
16. INT. MONESTARY BASEMENT - DAY
CAMERA MOVES along a row of boxes stuffed with hay and tons of wine until it reaches a hatch. It opens, and KENNEDY comes out.
KENNEDY
We're in basement... I think.
DAWN comes out.
DAWN
Freaky, where are we?
WILLOW comes out.
WILLOW
Somewhere a mile or two south of town.
BUFFY comes out.
BUFFY
It looks pretty old.
She sniffs.
And it smells pretty old too.
There's a pause.
XANDER (O.S.)
Help?
BUFFY and WILLOW rush to the hatch.
WILLOW (scared)
What is it?
XANDER (O.S.)
I'm kind of stuck; can you give me a hand?
She sighs.
17 INT. MONESTARY CHAPEL - DAY
CAMERA ON: The chapel is empty and dark, small beams of light coming through the glass-in-lead at the head of the isle, lit part of the chapel floor.
CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON: A large wooden door. It opens with a bang, and we see the gang standing at the other end. WILLOW looks up, disturbed.
KENNEDY
What?
WILLOW
It's all over here...
KENNEDY looks up further into the chapel.
CAMERA TURNS TO the interior of the chapel. It's covered with splatters of blood. CAMERA TURNS BACK to the gang.
DAWN
Oh God.
WILLOW
Whatever's been in here has been for a long time.
BUFFY
You think these are our guys?
WILLOW
I don't know, hard to tell...
VAMPIRE MONK (O.S.)
If you mean that group of youngster vampires, 4 of them, 'bout 20 to 25 in human years? No... Not me.
CAMERA SWIFTLY MOVES to the cross at the end of the isle, a monk is standing there. Light comes from the right side, and we can see half of his face.
KENNEDY
Friends of yours?
VAMPIRE MONK
Not really. They wanted to move in here, but I... persuaded them not to. At least the half of them that I didn't quite kill.
KENNEDY
You wouldn't happen to know where they are, would you?
VAMPIRE MONK
I have my ideas. But don't count on me sharing.
KENNEDY
Oh really?
VAMPIRE MONK
You're lucky, but not that lucky, girl.
KENNEDY
We're hunting a group of homicidal vampires and you call us lucky?
VAMPIRE MONK
Lucky enough to be allowed to leave alive.
KENNEDY fakes a yawn.
KENNEDY
Okay, what do you say we cut the small talk?
VAMPIRE MONK
My pleasure.
The VAMPIRE MONK runs at KENNEDY, and she at him. When he's nearly at her, he rips off his habit and throws it at her. It falls over KENNEDY's head and she stops running. He jumps and lands on her back, pushes off and jumps through the air straight at DAWN. She screams. He makes eye contact with BUFFY, right before he hits DAWN in the face. She crashes into the oak door. WILLOW slings an energy ball at him. It hits him head-on, and he rolls about 20 feet to the side. WILLOW turns to DAWN.
WILLOW (worried)
Are you alright?
DAWN moans, loudly.
BUFFY
Get up!
WILLOW sends a glare BUFFY's way, who stares right back at her.
BUFFY
I said get up.
DAWN opens her eyes and gets up. She grabs for her stake and walks right past WILLOW. WILLOW looks at BUFFY questioningly, but BUFFY says nothing.
CAMERA ON: DAWN and KENNEDY, both with stakes in their hands, walking past the rows of benches.
DAWN
You go ahead; I'm gonna double back and check again.
KENNEDY
'k.
CAMERA follows DAWN. She looks at the end of the rows. Suddenly something black moves from behind one column, only to go behind another.
DAWN (yelling)
He's here!
DAWN jumps on the benches and starts walking to the column he's hiding behind. She reaches the end of the row and we see KENNEDY behind her, who's also climbed on the bench. DAWN walks to the column, stake ready. She jumps behind it, ready to attack.
CAMERA ON: A piece of black clothing behind the column, but definitely not a vampire.
CAMERA BACK ON: DAWN.
DAWN (yelling)
Kennedy! He went the other way.
She turns around the column to KENNEDY, who's standing still on the bench.
DAWN
He tricked-
The VAMPIRE MONK jumps from between two benches, up to KENNEDY, he grabs her and jumps with her, between two others.
DAWN (yelling)
Kennedy!?!
DAWN jumps (and crashes, she doesn't quite have the slayer-agility going' on like her sister) over the benches to where KENNEDY is. We can hear there's a major fight going on.
KENNEDY (screaming)
Ahhhh!
WILLOW (frightened)
Kennedy!?
The VAMPIRE MONK is sent flying through the air, and he falls down in the middle of the aisle. KENNEDY stands up from between the benches, her right arm dangling down at an odd, and kinda gross, angle. WILLOW and DAWN reach KENNEDY.
WILLOW
Oh my god! Honey are you ok?
KENNEDY (pissed)
He broke my arm! (she sighs) Now I'm gonna break him.
She walks to the aisle where he is lying. She kicks him up and he flies a few feet. He stands up, glaring at KENNEDY.
VAMPIRE MONK (pissed off)
Let that arm be a lesson to you all. Get off my territory. Get off, I tell you!
KENNEDY runs at him, one arm pushed to her chest, and the other holding her stake up at dusting-angle. At the last moment, he jumps her. When he hits her, he changes into a hundred bats. KENNEDY abruptly stops, falling to the ground. She covers her head as the bats swirl around her. They fly up to the dark roof to the heavy wooden beams. KENNEDY, WILLOW and DAWN, who've joined her, stare up.
KENNEDY
What was he?
BUFFY comes walking up beside them.
BUFFY
I'll take vampires for 200, Alex.
KENNEDY
They don't get that strong. Not even Spike or the Turok-Han knew these tricks.
BUFFY
No, they didn't, but the Master and Dracula did.
KENNEDY
You knew Dracula?
BUFFY
Yeah, Drac? Major tool. I killed him. Like, 3 times. Don't get excited, he's not coming back. At least, not if he's smart.
BUFFY stares up at the rafters along with the others.
BUFFY
You'd better stay out of this Dawn, it's a little more then I've trained you for.
DAWN
Ok, but don't you think we should all back out? Can she fight him like this?
BUFFY looks at WILLOW, WILLOW turns to KENNEDY. But KENNEDY stares right up the ceiling.
BUFFY starts backing off to XANDER. She taps DAWN on the shoulder, who follows BUFFY. WILLOW takes KENNEDY's right arm in her hands. Her hair turns white, and she mumbles a few words while her hands begin to glow. There's a loud snap. (KENNEDY's arm is all mended). Then she steps back, points both her hands at KENNEDY and then moves them in a quick, precise upward motion. At the same time, KENNEDY is lifted up in the air to the ceiling. She lands on a beam. There's no one to be seen.
KENNEDY (angry)
Come out; come out; wherever you are... I know you're still here!
Suddenly we hear something moving, very rapidly. She jumps from one beam to another, but when she reaches the spot, there's nothing to see. Then a splinter of wood falls down right in front of her. She looks up, as does the CAMERA, we see a shadow, standing there, on a higher beam. He spots KENNEDY and moves along the rafter. KENNEDY starts to climb, but he is much faster, and when she reaches the place, he's already out of sight. CAMERA ON KENNEDY's head, her eyes are moving from left to right, and quickly back again, searching for him. Then we see him, swinging down. He's been standing on his hands on the beam above her. He hits her full on, and she tumbles down, hits a lower beam and falls further down. She barely manages to grab hold of the lowest beam with one hand. CAMERA MOVES from the side to right above her so we see how high it, below WILLOW is standing on the ground.
WILLOW (yelling)
Are you alright?
KENNEDY (yelling)
Yeah, but I can't pull myself back up.
WILLOW (yelling)
Don't worry.
We see WILLOW stick her hand out. CAMERA MOVES to the side of KENNEDY. We see her body being levitated, and she lands on the beam again.
WILLOW (O.S. yelling)
Catch!
KENNEDY looks down; a white light bulb comes flying up. She sticks out her hand and catches it. Her hand absorbs it and begins to glow blue.
KENNEDY (yelling)
A flashlight would have been fine, but thanks!
She looks up again, her fun new glowy-hand lighting the area surrounding her. There's no sign of the VAMPIRE MONK. She climbs up to the rafter above. She looks around, but still nothing. Then she hears something and turns to look at the beam in front of her. Still, a big nothing. Then to the one above that. There he is. He makes a jump down, at she jumps at him. She grabs him by the ankles, and drags him along in her flight. She throws her legs around the beam in front of her and swings around it. KENNEDY throws him away, and he crashes into one of the pillars. She releases the beam she's hanging on with her legs, and lands on the one beneath it, the she starts moving toward him. He gets up and starts walking to her. When they've nearly reached each other, he jumps off the beam, grabbing her by the ankle. He holds onto the lowest beam with one hand. He dangles her down with the other. CAMERA ON them from the top, again seeing WILLOW on the ground staring up.
VAMPIRE MONK
Now, will you leave me alone?
KENNEDY (mumbling)
I don't... negotiate... with evil.
VAMPIRE MONK (screaming)
FOOL!
He swings and throws her high up. She crashes into a beam and falls down on other one, but manages to grab hold of it. She stands up. He pulls himself up and climbs to her height. He walks at her and swings, but she dodges. She tries to tackle him, but he jumps and grabs hold of the beam above. He then swings his foot at her and she crashes into a pillar, she stumbles down, but lands on another beam. He makes a jump and lands on it too. He throws a punch, but she blocks. She hits back, but he blocks her punch, too. She takes a step back, but missteps. She quickly steps back on, but the VAMPIRE MONK has already planted his fist in her face. She slams against another pillar, but doesn't loose her balance. He, however, is already gone. She looks around and waves her still glowing hand around to try and find him. She sees a shadow, but doesn't react. Instead she turns around, but she's smirking. We can see the VAMPIRE MONK jumping at her from behind, but she turns around just in time to give him a good kick in the stomach, and he hits the pillar. KENNEDY walks to him, picks him up and smashes him into the pillar again. Then she throws him over her shoulder and he slides over the beam. He falls off, but grabs hold of it. She walks up to him and steps on his hand. He looks down and then looks up at her.
VAMPIRE MONK
I didn't drop you!
KENNEDY
But you should have.
She kicks his hand and he lets go. He falls down, but changes into about a hundred bats again. They fly up till they're at her height between the beams. They stay at the same height, and flap at the same spot. Together they form his body.
VAMPIRE MONK (as the bats, furious)
And you, you call yourself a slayer?
KENNEDY (scared)
Um, yes??
The number of bats begins to multiply and the VAMPIRE MONK grows bigger and bigger. The whole church begins to tremble.
VAMPIRE MONK (as the bats, furious)
You don't have the spirit of a true slayer.
The doors now all smash open and bats come flying from all of them.
KENNEDY (scared, with trembling voice.)
I... I-m sorry?
VAMPIRE MONK (as the bats, furious)
You're just a girl.
The bats that formed the body of the VAMPIRE MONK fly at KENNEDY and she steps back, falling off the beam. He turns back into his real body; at looks down at her while he stands on one of the beams.
(Everything that happens from now on happens in SLOW MOTION.)
KENNEDY is falling, WILLOW starts running down the aisle where KENNEDY will hit the ground.
WILLOW (screaming)
KENNEDY!!
WILLOW's hair continuously changes from white to black and back again.
CAMERA ON: The VAMPIRE MONK's face, he looks angry. But that looks slowly starts to fade, as he realizes what he has just done, and he starts to look frightened.
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, falling. Suddenly the VAMPIRE MONK jumps off the beam, while everything else is in slow-motion, his movement is in normal speed. All the bats in the chapel fly to him and as he absorbs them, he goes faster and faster. When KENNEDY is about to hit the ground (lets say, about 7 feet up) he catches her.
(END OF SLOW MOTION.)
He tries to pull up. He throws KENNEDY onto the benches, where she lands, relatively softly. But he crashes onto the ground. He lays there, motionless. WILLOW hurries to KENNEDY (Her hair is back to red) and the others carefully close in on the VAMPIRE MONK. Blood is flowing fast and freely from him. There's a pause. WILLOW joins them, supporting KENNEDY.
KENNEDY
Is he?
WILLOW
He's a vampire. He couldn't have died.
BUFFY
No and neither can he be this badly hurt by just a fall.
BUFFY walks on to the VAMPIRE MONK. He's still bleeding. BUFFY kneels down by his side.
VAMPIRE MONK (breathing heavily)
Other tunnel... motel... top floor... room 406.
He gasps for air, then spits out some blood, he coughs. He curls up in pain every time he does. WILLOW walks up to BUFFY, inspecting the VAMPIRE MONK.
WILLOW
How can he be...? You're not a real vampire, are you?
The VAMPIRE MONK smirks. WILLOW stands up and turns around.
WILLOW
You three, go to that motel, find our friends and dispose of them. We'll take care of him.
KENNEDY, DAWN and XANDER stand around unsure of what's going on.
WILLOW
GO!

ACT IV
18 EXT. MOTEL PARKING LOT - NIGHT
CAMERA MOVES ALONG a row of cars, then onto the street. It stops at a hatch to the sewers, which opens up. KENNEDY, DAWN and XANDER come out.
KENNEDY
I guess this is the place.
DAWN
Room 406.
KENNEDY starts to walk to the stairs to the second floor.
XANDER
Wait; let's check with the manager first, see if they're in.
XANDER begins to walk to the manager's booth, DAWN and KENNEDY follow him. XANDER reaches the booth first, and he peeks through the window, then he turns back and starts to walk to the stairs. KENNEDY looks at him puzzled.
XANDER
They're in, alright.
KENNEDY and DAWN walk to the booth and peek through the window. CAMERA ON: The motel manager, laying in his booth, dead, two little holes in his neck.
19 INT. MOTEL ROOM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The door. (we can only see the door, but we can hear obnoxiously loud R&B.) There's knocking on the door, some big guy moves into the picture and opens up it up. It's XANDER, with KENNEDY and DAWN on either side of him. He steps inside. CAMERA ON: The room is filled with several young men, among others-- those who we've seen in the first scene. There's also a lot of skanky looking women there, trying to give the early Faith a run for her money, apparently. The guys look up at XANDER. XANDER looks at KENNEDY and DAWN.
XANDER
Ladies, it's party time!
They both nod.
The big vamp at the door grabs Dawn from behind, and one attacks her from the front. She swings her legs up and kicks him away.
CUT TO: KENNEDY, who walks up to the first vamp she sees. He swings; she ducks, rises up and plants a stake in his chest, plain and simple. Two others charge for her.
CUT TO: XANDER, gesturing to the women to get out. He grabs one of them, who has crouched under the bed. He pulls her with. A vamp tries to block the way. XANDER moves to the left, but the vamp does too. When XANDER moves to the right, the vamp moves with him once again. XANDER rolls his eyes and moves his stake up high. The vampire grabs his hand, but XANDER kicks him in the nuts and he falls down. XANDER quickly drags the girl out of there.
CUT TO: DAWN, having seen XANDER's move, kicks the vamp that's holding her in the nuts with her heels. He, of course, immediately lets go. DAWN jumps on the bed as another vamp tries to grab her ankles. She bounces on the bed, and he misses and falls on the bed by her feet. She lands on him and stakes him. As the vampire dusts under her feet, she falls down and lands on her back.
CUT TO: KENNEDY in hand-to-hand combat with two vampires. (One on her left, one on her right.) They quickly exchange punches. At one point, instead of blocking a punch, she grabs the vamp's arm. KENNEDY makes an odd move with it, and we hear a loud crack. She pushes the arm to the other vamps chest. The one without the broken arm gets pinned by the arm protruding from its chest, and KENNEDY stakes them both.
She turns around to DAWN, who's getting up from the bed.
KENNEDY
That was a slayer worthy show you put up tonight.
DAWN (getting red)
Really? You think so?
KENNEDY
Yeah, I just... Hey, where's Xander?
DAWN
He's comforting those girls.
KENNEDY (sarcastic)
Ain't that sweet of him?
20 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN, KENNEDY and XANDER lying on the couch. WILLOW and BUFFY come in with drinks and snacks.
XANDER
Great, I can do with some of those.
He picks up a drink from the tray BUFFY'S holding. BUFFY sits down between him and DAWN, while WILLOW puts a bowl of chips on the table and sits down next to KENNEDY.
KENNEDY
So how's the old guy doing?
BUFFY
He's fine. He has some pretty nasty wounds, but he'll survive.
She turns to XANDER.
We've put him in your room, I hope you don't mind.
XANDER
Nah, I'll just share with you.
KENNEDY
By the way, you'll be pleased to hear that your training has totally worked.
BUFFY
Oh really, so how'd she do? Give me details.
KENNEDY looks at DAWN and smiles.
KENNEDY
Well, she doesn't have strength like us, but she used her wits, which made up for it.
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, looking proud at DAWN, who's feeling a bit embarrassed.

26 INT. LIVING ROOM AT BUFFY'S HOUSE - DAY
CAMERA ON: Buffy, she is addressing a living room full of potentials and her friends.
BUFFY
In every generation, one slayer is born...

26a INT. PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE AT SUNNYDALE HIGH - DAY
Kennedy sits up smiling and confident.
BUFFY (V.O.)

36 INT. HALLWAY AT SUNNYDALE HIGH - DAY
CAMERA ON: Bringers have made their way to the fight and are attacking Andrew. Anya fights them off, but there are too many. While she stabs one with her sword, another slices diagonally though her torso from behind, killing her.
CUT TO:
37 INT. HELLMOUTH - DAY
CAMERA ON: Spike gasps and stumbles backward away from the fight as he clutches his chest, then his burned hand.
SPIKE
Oh, bollocks.
A bright blue light shoots up from the amulet, knocking a hole in the ceiling, going up through the floor of the Principal's office past Willow and through to the open sky. The light turns a warm orange colour.
CUT TO:
41 INT. HELLMOUTH - DAY
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and SPIKE, holding hands.
BUFFY
(softly, looks into his eyes) I love you.
SPIKE
No, you don't. But thanks for saying it.
CUT TO:
45 INT.HELLMOUTH - DAY
CAMERA ON: Spike stands in the crumbling hellmouth with light shining down on him from above, grinning from ear to ear and laughing as he burns up from the sunlight.
SPIKE (V.O.)
I wanna see how it ends.
He dusts slowly"”first his skin singes, then his muscles, then his bones"”then he's gone. The hellmouth crumbles in around him.
CUT TO:
49 EXT. SCHOOL BUS - DAY
CAMERA ON: Buffy is still staring at the canyon that once was Sunnydale. Dawn stands beside her, then Giles joins them, as do Xander, Willow, and Faith.
FAITH
Looks like the hellmouth is officially closed for business.
CUT TO:
As the others chatter around her, Buffy just stares straight ahead at the hole formerly known as Sunnydale. As she contemplates what's next, she smiles.

1 INT. EMERGENCY CENTER - DAY
CAMERA ON: A lady behind the counter, BUFFY in front of it.
LADY
Ok, last one, where are you moving?
BUFFY

10 INT. LUNCH ROOM - DAY
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX.
DAWN
Hi, I'm Dawn.
CUT TO:
35 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE KITCHEN - NIGHT
LUX
I'm Lux.
BUFFY
You promise to let me train you.
DAWN (surprised)
Are you kidding? Off course I will, that's just so-o-o wild!!!
BUFFY
Well I'm glad you think about it this way, but I promise you, I'm not easy.
DAWN
So, does this like mean, you will be going to slay again?
BUFFY
No-no-no! I'll just train you, apart from that, I'm just a girl.
TEASER
1 EXT. ALLEY BEHIND SILVERDUST - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A Stake. ZOOM OUT: KENNEDY stakes a huge vamp outside the Silverdust.
CAMERA TURNS TO
WILLOW
Way to go!
KENNEDY
I had help.
WILLOW
Just a locator. Few flashy lights... not much.
KENNEDY
Well it was useful and pretty
They laugh.
KENNEDY
You know, with all those nice lights I can hardly imagine you ever being Big Scary Willow.
WILLOW
You wouldn't want to.
(pause)
WILLOW
C'mon, let's go find Xander.
She grabs KENNEDY's arm, looks at her, then they walk back into Silverdust.
2 EXT. MONESTARY - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The monastery from above, we slowly ZOOM IN.
3 INT. MONESTARY - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: Large church hall. We hear a lot of noise. Some youngsters walk in, they're vampires, (vamp faced,) covered in blood.
VAMPIRE #1
How she screamed for mercy... as if.
VAMPIRE #2
You showed her mercy, you idiot. Drinking her yourself and not handing over to me!
The others laugh.
MONK (O.S.)
I'm sorry I must have missed the joke, could you repeat that?
CAMERA TURNS TO reveal a monk standing, leaning on the cross at the other end of the chapel. Light comes from the glass-in-lead behind him, making it impossible to see his face.
VAMPIRE #1
Oh, it's very funny; it's about some monk biting the dust.
ZOOM IN on the MONK's face, his fangs are revealed.
VAMPIRE MONK (Mumbling)
That's right, I'm gonna bite, and you'll be dust. How's that for funny?

4 INT. SILVERDUST - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and BUFFY talking and laughing. The music goes quieter as the camera nears WILLOW and KENNEDY entering Silverdust.
WILLOW
Hey guys!
BUFFY
Happy slaying?
KENNEDY
Yeah, Willow found the guy with a locater spell and I pummelled his ass.
DAWN
Go you!
BUFFY
You haven't been doing the slaying gig long, and you already know so much about the slayage. Impressive.
WILLOW
Definitely, when I had been in 'the know' for that long I was really bad at it.
KENNEDY
I'm sure you were great.
WILLOW
Well I did the occasional soul restoring, but apart from that I couldn't even levitate a pencil without shooting it at trees.
BUFFY and WILLOW both laugh and smile knowingly from the memory.
ANGLE ON: XANDER comes back from the dance floor and joins them.
XANDER
Awww, look at you guys! So sweet!
WILLOW gives XANDER a look, then smiles sweetly.
XANDER
Drink anyone?
BUFFY
Vodka on the rocks, if you please.
She smiles at XANDER, who raises his eyebrows.
WILLOW
Hmmm, I think I'll have a Dr. Pepper.
KENNEDY
Same here!
XANDER
How bout you, Dawnie?
DAWN
Uhmmm, Diet Coke?
XANDER
Sure thing. Be back in a minute.
He walks off to the bar.
BUFFY
Say Dawn, when do you want to train again?
DAWN
As soon as possible. I want to royally kick some demon butt.
BUFFY
It's not that easy, you know that
DAWN
Yeah, yeah!
WILLOW chuckles
WILLOW
Don't worry Dawnie. You're gonna be great and Buffy, you know she'll be fine, and she'll probably won't be slaying alone.
BUFFY
Not yet. She'd better not!
WILLOW wants to say something.
BUFFY
And don't tell me she won't, cause she will, she's a Summers. She doesn't even have to be half as headstrong as me to do it anyway. And lets face it, it's not like I can stop her then, can I? But I can still try.
5 INT. WILLOW AND KENNEDY'S DORM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW Sleeping, KENNEDY is reading up on demons.
KENNEDY
Wow, these look cool. I wonder how many of these Buffy's killed.
WILLOW starts to move about. She shakes and makes noises. WILLOW then jumps up.
KENNEDY
Will, what's wrong, bad dream?
WILLOW
And the understatement of the century award goes to.
KENNEDY
What happened?
WILLOW
It's... nothing, it doesn't matter.
KENNEDY
Are you sure, baby?
WILLOW
Yea, go back to your book.
KENNEDY looks at her with confusion. Then she continues to read.
KENNEDY
Hey Will? I was wondering, do you know which of these demons Buffy killed. Willow?
She looks up, but WILLOW is asleep
6 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE KITCHEN - DAY
CAMERA ON: BUFFY comes strolling into the kitchen in her pyjamas, with a pretty obvious hangover. XANDER's humming.
BUFFY
Hey Xand, knock it off. Aren't you supposed to be in Hangover Land too?
XANDER
Arrgh, ye girls can't hold yer liquor, but we pirates can drink till doomsday. Arrgh!
BUFFY sighs. She covers her ears, but Xander starts to whistle, loud enough to wake up the surrounding counties.
DAWN
Hey Xander, how are you this morning?
XANDER whistles at her.
DAWN
I see, and you Buff... hey, Buffy?... BUFFY!
BUFFY, still covering her ears, finally hears DAWN and turns around
DAWN
Never mind, I already know.
DAWN opens the fridge and looks around. Pulling out an apple, she turns back to BUFFY.
DAWN
Hey, can I go over to Lux's later?
BUFFY nods and winces.
BUFFY
Sure, you staying over?
DAWN
I haven't planned to, why?
BUFFY
Because, I had an extra training session scheduled in tonight.
DAWN (excited)
Sure, I'll work it out with Lux!
BUFFY
All righty then.
DAWN
Thank you so much, I know you didn't want me involved in the slayage and magick-y stuff, but you doing this for me, it means a lot.
BUFFY
You're welcome. You're growing up, and you're gonna need self-defence anyway. Might as well learn from me... 'cause you know, I kind of am the best!
DAWN
Yes you are. (under her breath) and not the least bit egotistical about it.
XANDER
Bout that. You've been intensively training for about three months now, is she getting any good? Should I be afraid of her?
BUFFY
She's great, but you know, nothing beats your army training... expect maybe mine.
DAWN
You guys, I'd better be going, or I'm gonna be late. See ya later!
BUFFY and XANDER
Bye!
BUFFY
Have a good day!
7 INT. PROFFESOR HEMMINGWAY'S COLLEGE CLASS - DAY
CAMERA ON: PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY lecturing the full class, BUFFY sneaks in through the back.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
-whereas this person would find the exact opposite because of his condition, because he doesn't have any fear at all. Now to give you a good example of a fearless person, take Miss Summers up there.
BUFFY stops moving.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
She certainly has no fear at all. To be late for my class, the condition we are talking about is really required. The fact that she tries to sneak in, thinking I won't notice, that's a whole different condition. Its scientific name is stupidity.
The class laughs BUFFY sits down.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Anyway, as I was saying-
His voice fades away.
FADE TO BLACK.
8 INT. PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY'S COLLEGE CLASS - DAY
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, who has dozed off. The bell rings, she wakes up. She starts packing her bags and prepares to leave.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Miss Summers... would you come here please?
BUFFY
Yep.
BUFFY walks down to his desk as the other students leave the classroom.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Now look, I don't mind you being late as much as I mind it that you don't catch up on the notes.
BUFFY
I'm sorry.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
I know you're new and I feel I should help you out.
BUFFY (surprised)
Oh well, that's... nice.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
I've taken the privilege of doing some things in advance.
He turns to his desk, picks up a pile of binders, turns around and hands them over to Buffy.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
Copies of all my notes from previous years.
BUFFY
Thank you.
PROFESSOR HEMMINGWAY
I do expect you to read them carefully.
BUFFY (sarcastic)
Thanks a lot.

9 INT. WILLOW AND KENNEDY'S DORM - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY walks in.
KENNEDY
Hey Will!
WILLOW
Hey, how was class?
KENNEDY
Snore... but I got Marine Bio next, should be cool.
WILLOW
When do you have it?
KENNEDY
In about an hour, why?
WILLOW

Oh cool, count me in. I'm always up for slaying.
WILLOW (laughing)

KENNEDY

WILLOW
I dunno...
KENNEDY
Ok, well I'm gonna go get them vamps right now, sun's out so I'm at an advantage, are you coming?
WILLOW
Nah, I have class in fifteen.
KENNEDY
Suit it yourself.
The phone rings.
WILLOW

ACT II
10 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - DAY
CAMERA ON: The door from the hallway to the living room. XANDER and BUFFY sitting at the table. We hear the front door open. Then it closes, we hear some more noise, then DAWN enters.
DAWN
Hi!
Notices, them looking at her.
Something wrong?
BUFFY
Not at all.
DAWN
Then why-
XANDER nods at a package on the table, it's a wrapped gift.
DAWN
For me?
BUFFY nods.
DAWN walks over to the table and picks it up. She starts unwrapping; it's an antique wooden box. She opens it up and inside is Mr. Pointy himself. DAWN's mouth falls open.
There's a pause.
DAWN
Oh my god.
BUFFY
You're training is going into another level. Practice. And though I'm gonna be there to watch you work it from time to time, I'm not gonna back you up anymore. I though Mr. Pointy would come in handy with patrolling.
(Dawn smiles, blushes)
DAWN
Thank you so much.
DAWN hugs BUFFY.
BUFFY
I knew you'd like it.
A tear rolls down her face.
11 INT. DOWNTOWN VAMP LAIR - DAY
CAMERA ON: A wooden door (from the outside). Suddenly it gets kicked down by KENNEDY. She walks in.
KENNEDY
Hey, anyone home?
She looks around.
Oh, come on. Where you at?
She walks around.
KENNEDY (to herself)
Great going Ken... no vamps to kill.
She turns around a corner.
Oh god!
CAMERA TURNS around the corner to about twenty bodies lined up on the floor. The faces are almost blue, there are purple marks on their arms, and it looks like there had been some kind of Vamp party. There is blood everywhere.
KENNEDY slowly backs away.
KENNEDY (mumbling)
Oh. Eww... research is in order.
12 INT. WILLOW AND KENNEDYS DORM - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY comes running in.
KENNEDY
Those vamps must have sensed I was coming, 'cause when I got there, they were gone.
WILLOW
Are you sure you went to the right place?
KENNEDY
Will, I think I can take directions. And there were bodies.
WILLOW
Bodies?
KENNEDY
Yeah... they were lined up, they looked beaten and there was blood everywhere. I didn't want to go in further by myself. I wasn't sure how many or how strong they were, but by the looks of it, they weren't your average vampires.
WILLOW
We'll investigate later with Dawnie. You'd better hurry to Marine Bio now.
KENNEDY
Shoot, I'll blow it off. This is more important.
WILLOW
Class is important! Look, we won't do anything without you except research, just go!
KENNEDY
Ok ok... sheesh, the only thing worse then class is research.
WILLOW gives her a look. KENNEDY smiles, then leaves for class.
WILLOW picks up the phone and dials a number
WILLOW (on the phone)
Buffy... yeah, we've got her first mission; we'll be over in little over an hour.
13 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - DAY
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, DAWN, BUFFY and XANDER sitting around the table, with a map of the sewers in the centre.
WILLOW
So, most likely they went away through the sewers in broad daylight. There was nowhere else to go, right?
DAWN
Right.
WILLOW
No, they were close by this intersection, so they could have went anyway, however... they were most likely covered in blood, which, magically speaking, is easier to trace then breadcrumbs. So what we're going to do is go in, I'll do the mojo I do so well, and we can pick up the trail.
14 INT. VAMP LAIR - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, BUFFY, DAWN and XANDER walking around.
DAWN
Ew, it smells!
XANDER
That's the whole point, with the bodies and the blood tends towards the stinky.
WILLOW
Shhh!
CAMERA TURNS TO: WILLOW performing some kind of ritual (to track the blood).
KENNEDY sighs.
There's a flash of light.
WILLOW
Done!
KENNEDY
Finally, let's go!
KENNEDY descends into the sewers, the others follow.
DAWN
So we find them, and?
WILLOW
We fight.
15 INT. SEWER - DAY (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, WILLOW, DAWN, XANDER and BUFFY in the tunnel, looking at a trail of glow-in-the-dark blood.
BUFFY
Is this what I think it is?
WILLOW
Yes, pretty neat, wouldn't you say?
BUFFY rolls her eyes.
They start walking.
WILLOW
It's a pretty easy combination of two spells, one to locate the blood, and I connected the outcome of that spell with the second. Where I used it as a target, the second spell makes the target light up. It's a pretty common trick.
BUFFY
I'm sorry, but the combination of the glow in the dark blood and the murder of innocent people don't really go together, at least not in my mind.
WILLOW
I get your point, if you say it like that, it all sounds a lot less cute and all. But still it's gonna help us safe lives. Best to look at that bright side.
There's a pause.
DAWN
Is it just me, or has the word 'trap' popped into anyone else's mind? I mean, bodies conveniently found, vamps already gone, us now in a sewer? Who knows, they might be waiting for us around the corner, with God knows how many of them.
WILLOW
We have a Slayer, a Witch, a Xander and you. They still wouldn't stand a chance.
DAWN
Maybe not, but what if they blow the tunnels up? We could get trapped.
WILLOW
I'd probably be able to blast my way out, but you've got a point. Hey, Buff, did you teach her this too?
BUFFY
Don't look at me, I'm innocent. At least, about this.
DAWN
All I'm saying is this might not be the most tactical way to work.
WILLOW
Well, lucky for them vamps, you're not in charge. You're still a rookie, you know, by the time you've done some time, you can start telling us what's best and what's not. For now, you're gonna just have to trust us on this, and see whether you can survive a fight.
DAWN (angry)
Whatever.
She slows down and starts walking at the back with BUFFY.
DAWN
What's her deal?
BUFFY
Nothing, but she's sort of in charge, I guess she doesn't like you waltzing in on command.
DAWN
Well, what I said WAS true.
They stop at an intersection. There's one tunnel right ahead, with a sidewalk, and one to the right, with nothing but the water.
KENNEDY
What's next?
WILLOW
Well, there is a trail going right ahead, but it seems much older then the other one.
KENNEDY
What does that mean?
WILLOW
That at this intersection they jumped into the water to erase their tracks.
BUFFY looks at the water and makes a disgusted face.
KENNEDY
So we don't know where they went?
WILLOW
We have a fifty-fifty chance of being correct. But I have a hunch we'll find something if we go right.
KENNEDY
Because of the older tracks?
WILLOW
Yea, maybe they've used this as an escape route before.
DAWN
Plus it's better then going through there.
She points at the stream to the right.
KENNEDY starts walking again.
KENNEDY
Let's go!

ACT III
16. INT. MONESTARY BASEMENT - DAY
CAMERA MOVES along a row of boxes stuffed with hay and tons of wine until it reaches a hatch. It opens, and KENNEDY comes out.
KENNEDY
We're in basement... I think.
DAWN comes out.
DAWN
Freaky, where are we?
WILLOW comes out.
WILLOW
Somewhere a mile or two south of town.
BUFFY comes out.
BUFFY
It looks pretty old.
She sniffs.
And it smells pretty old too.
There's a pause.
XANDER (O.S.)
Help?
BUFFY and WILLOW rush to the hatch.
WILLOW (scared)
What is it?
XANDER (O.S.)
I'm kind of stuck; can you give me a hand?
She sighs.
17 INT. MONESTARY CHAPEL - DAY
CAMERA ON: The chapel is empty and dark, small beams of light coming through the glass-in-lead at the head of the isle, lit part of the chapel floor.
CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON: A large wooden door. It opens with a bang, and we see the gang standing at the other end. WILLOW looks up, disturbed.
KENNEDY
What?
WILLOW
It's all over here...
KENNEDY looks up further into the chapel.
CAMERA TURNS TO the interior of the chapel. It's covered with splatters of blood. CAMERA TURNS BACK to the gang.
DAWN
Oh God.
WILLOW
Whatever's been in here has been for a long time.
BUFFY
You think these are our guys?
WILLOW
I don't know, hard to tell...
VAMPIRE MONK (O.S.)
If you mean that group of youngster vampires, 4 of them, 'bout 20 to 25 in human years? No... Not me.
CAMERA SWIFTLY MOVES to the cross at the end of the isle, a monk is standing there. Light comes from the right side, and we can see half of his face.
KENNEDY
Friends of yours?
VAMPIRE MONK
Not really. They wanted to move in here, but I... persuaded them not to. At least the half of them that I didn't quite kill.
KENNEDY
You wouldn't happen to know where they are, would you?
VAMPIRE MONK
I have my ideas. But don't count on me sharing.
KENNEDY
Oh really?
VAMPIRE MONK
You're lucky, but not that lucky, girl.
KENNEDY
We're hunting a group of homicidal vampires and you call us lucky?
VAMPIRE MONK
Lucky enough to be allowed to leave alive.
KENNEDY fakes a yawn.
KENNEDY
Okay, what do you say we cut the small talk?
VAMPIRE MONK
My pleasure.
The VAMPIRE MONK runs at KENNEDY, and she at him. When he's nearly at her, he rips off his habit and throws it at her. It falls over KENNEDY's head and she stops running. He jumps and lands on her back, pushes off and jumps through the air straight at DAWN. She screams. He makes eye contact with BUFFY, right before he hits DAWN in the face. She crashes into the oak door. WILLOW slings an energy ball at him. It hits him head-on, and he rolls about 20 feet to the side. WILLOW turns to DAWN.
WILLOW (worried)
Are you alright?
DAWN moans, loudly.
BUFFY
Get up!
WILLOW sends a glare BUFFY's way, who stares right back at her.
BUFFY
I said get up.
DAWN opens her eyes and gets up. She grabs for her stake and walks right past WILLOW. WILLOW looks at BUFFY questioningly, but BUFFY says nothing.
CAMERA ON: DAWN and KENNEDY, both with stakes in their hands, walking past the rows of benches.
DAWN
You go ahead; I'm gonna double back and check again.
KENNEDY
'k.
CAMERA follows DAWN. She looks at the end of the rows. Suddenly something black moves from behind one column, only to go behind another.
DAWN (yelling)
He's here!
DAWN jumps on the benches and starts walking to the column he's hiding behind. She reaches the end of the row and we see KENNEDY behind her, who's also climbed on the bench. DAWN walks to the column, stake ready. She jumps behind it, ready to attack.
CAMERA ON: A piece of black clothing behind the column, but definitely not a vampire.
CAMERA BACK ON: DAWN.
DAWN (yelling)
Kennedy! He went the other way.
She turns around the column to KENNEDY, who's standing still on the bench.
DAWN
He tricked-
The VAMPIRE MONK jumps from between two benches, up to KENNEDY, he grabs her and jumps with her, between two others.
DAWN (yelling)
Kennedy!?!
DAWN jumps (and crashes, she doesn't quite have the slayer-agility going' on like her sister) over the benches to where KENNEDY is. We can hear there's a major fight going on.
KENNEDY (screaming)
Ahhhh!
WILLOW (frightened)
Kennedy!?
The VAMPIRE MONK is sent flying through the air, and he falls down in the middle of the aisle. KENNEDY stands up from between the benches, her right arm dangling down at an odd, and kinda gross, angle. WILLOW and DAWN reach KENNEDY.
WILLOW
Oh my god! Honey are you ok?
KENNEDY (pissed)
He broke my arm! (she sighs) Now I'm gonna break him.
She walks to the aisle where he is lying. She kicks him up and he flies a few feet. He stands up, glaring at KENNEDY.
VAMPIRE MONK (pissed off)
Let that arm be a lesson to you all. Get off my territory. Get off, I tell you!
KENNEDY runs at him, one arm pushed to her chest, and the other holding her stake up at dusting-angle. At the last moment, he jumps her. When he hits her, he changes into a hundred bats. KENNEDY abruptly stops, falling to the ground. She covers her head as the bats swirl around her. They fly up to the dark roof to the heavy wooden beams. KENNEDY, WILLOW and DAWN, who've joined her, stare up.
KENNEDY
What was he?
BUFFY comes walking up beside them.
BUFFY
I'll take vampires for 200, Alex.
KENNEDY
They don't get that strong. Not even Spike or the Turok-Han knew these tricks.
BUFFY
No, they didn't, but the Master and Dracula did.
KENNEDY
You knew Dracula?
BUFFY
Yeah, Drac? Major tool. I killed him. Like, 3 times. Don't get excited, he's not coming back. At least, not if he's smart.
BUFFY stares up at the rafters along with the others.
BUFFY
You'd better stay out of this Dawn, it's a little more then I've trained you for.
DAWN
Ok, but don't you think we should all back out? Can she fight him like this?
BUFFY looks at WILLOW, WILLOW turns to KENNEDY. But KENNEDY stares right up the ceiling.
BUFFY starts backing off to XANDER. She taps DAWN on the shoulder, who follows BUFFY. WILLOW takes KENNEDY's right arm in her hands. Her hair turns white, and she mumbles a few words while her hands begin to glow. There's a loud snap. (KENNEDY's arm is all mended). Then she steps back, points both her hands at KENNEDY and then moves them in a quick, precise upward motion. At the same time, KENNEDY is lifted up in the air to the ceiling. She lands on a beam. There's no one to be seen.
KENNEDY (angry)
Come out; come out; wherever you are... I know you're still here!
Suddenly we hear something moving, very rapidly. She jumps from one beam to another, but when she reaches the spot, there's nothing to see. Then a splinter of wood falls down right in front of her. She looks up, as does the CAMERA, we see a shadow, standing there, on a higher beam. He spots KENNEDY and moves along the rafter. KENNEDY starts to climb, but he is much faster, and when she reaches the place, he's already out of sight. CAMERA ON KENNEDY's head, her eyes are moving from left to right, and quickly back again, searching for him. Then we see him, swinging down. He's been standing on his hands on the beam above her. He hits her full on, and she tumbles down, hits a lower beam and falls further down. She barely manages to grab hold of the lowest beam with one hand. CAMERA MOVES from the side to right above her so we see how high it, below WILLOW is standing on the ground.
WILLOW (yelling)
Are you alright?
KENNEDY (yelling)
Yeah, but I can't pull myself back up.
WILLOW (yelling)
Don't worry.
We see WILLOW stick her hand out. CAMERA MOVES to the side of KENNEDY. We see her body being levitated, and she lands on the beam again.
WILLOW (O.S. yelling)
Catch!
KENNEDY looks down; a white light bulb comes flying up. She sticks out her hand and catches it. Her hand absorbs it and begins to glow blue.
KENNEDY (yelling)
A flashlight would have been fine, but thanks!
She looks up again, her fun new glowy-hand lighting the area surrounding her. There's no sign of the VAMPIRE MONK. She climbs up to the rafter above. She looks around, but still nothing. Then she hears something and turns to look at the beam in front of her. Still, a big nothing. Then to the one above that. There he is. He makes a jump down, at she jumps at him. She grabs him by the ankles, and drags him along in her flight. She throws her legs around the beam in front of her and swings around it. KENNEDY throws him away, and he crashes into one of the pillars. She releases the beam she's hanging on with her legs, and lands on the one beneath it, the she starts moving toward him. He gets up and starts walking to her. When they've nearly reached each other, he jumps off the beam, grabbing her by the ankle. He holds onto the lowest beam with one hand. He dangles her down with the other. CAMERA ON them from the top, again seeing WILLOW on the ground staring up.
VAMPIRE MONK
Now, will you leave me alone?
KENNEDY (mumbling)
I don't... negotiate... with evil.
VAMPIRE MONK (screaming)
FOOL!
He swings and throws her high up. She crashes into a beam and falls down on other one, but manages to grab hold of it. She stands up. He pulls himself up and climbs to her height. He walks at her and swings, but she dodges. She tries to tackle him, but he jumps and grabs hold of the beam above. He then swings his foot at her and she crashes into a pillar, she stumbles down, but lands on another beam. He makes a jump and lands on it too. He throws a punch, but she blocks. She hits back, but he blocks her punch, too. She takes a step back, but missteps. She quickly steps back on, but the VAMPIRE MONK has already planted his fist in her face. She slams against another pillar, but doesn't loose her balance. He, however, is already gone. She looks around and waves her still glowing hand around to try and find him. She sees a shadow, but doesn't react. Instead she turns around, but she's smirking. We can see the VAMPIRE MONK jumping at her from behind, but she turns around just in time to give him a good kick in the stomach, and he hits the pillar. KENNEDY walks to him, picks him up and smashes him into the pillar again. Then she throws him over her shoulder and he slides over the beam. He falls off, but grabs hold of it. She walks up to him and steps on his hand. He looks down and then looks up at her.
VAMPIRE MONK
I didn't drop you!
KENNEDY
But you should have.
She kicks his hand and he lets go. He falls down, but changes into about a hundred bats again. They fly up till they're at her height between the beams. They stay at the same height, and flap at the same spot. Together they form his body.
VAMPIRE MONK (as the bats, furious)
And you, you call yourself a slayer?
KENNEDY (scared)
Um, yes??
The number of bats begins to multiply and the VAMPIRE MONK grows bigger and bigger. The whole church begins to tremble.
VAMPIRE MONK (as the bats, furious)
You don't have the spirit of a true slayer.
The doors now all smash open and bats come flying from all of them.
KENNEDY (scared, with trembling voice.)
I... I-m sorry?
VAMPIRE MONK (as the bats, furious)
You're just a girl.
The bats that formed the body of the VAMPIRE MONK fly at KENNEDY and she steps back, falling off the beam. He turns back into his real body; at looks down at her while he stands on one of the beams.
(Everything that happens from now on happens in SLOW MOTION.)
KENNEDY is falling, WILLOW starts running down the aisle where KENNEDY will hit the ground.
WILLOW (screaming)
KENNEDY!!
WILLOW's hair continuously changes from white to black and back again.
CAMERA ON: The VAMPIRE MONK's face, he looks angry. But that looks slowly starts to fade, as he realizes what he has just done, and he starts to look frightened.
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, falling. Suddenly the VAMPIRE MONK jumps off the beam, while everything else is in slow-motion, his movement is in normal speed. All the bats in the chapel fly to him and as he absorbs them, he goes faster and faster. When KENNEDY is about to hit the ground (lets say, about 7 feet up) he catches her.
(END OF SLOW MOTION.)
He tries to pull up. He throws KENNEDY onto the benches, where she lands, relatively softly. But he crashes onto the ground. He lays there, motionless. WILLOW hurries to KENNEDY (Her hair is back to red) and the others carefully close in on the VAMPIRE MONK. Blood is flowing fast and freely from him. There's a pause. WILLOW joins them, supporting KENNEDY.
KENNEDY
Is he?
WILLOW
He's a vampire. He couldn't have died.
BUFFY
No and neither can he be this badly hurt by just a fall.
BUFFY walks on to the VAMPIRE MONK. He's still bleeding. BUFFY kneels down by his side.
VAMPIRE MONK (breathing heavily)
Other tunnel... motel... top floor... room 406.
He gasps for air, then spits out some blood, he coughs. He curls up in pain every time he does. WILLOW walks up to BUFFY, inspecting the VAMPIRE MONK.
WILLOW
How can he be...? You're not a real vampire, are you?
The VAMPIRE MONK smirks. WILLOW stands up and turns around.
WILLOW
You three, go to that motel, find our friends and dispose of them. We'll take care of him.
KENNEDY, DAWN and XANDER stand around unsure of what's going on.
WILLOW
GO!

ACT IV
18 EXT. MOTEL PARKING LOT - NIGHT
CAMERA MOVES ALONG a row of cars, then onto the street. It stops at a hatch to the sewers, which opens up. KENNEDY, DAWN and XANDER come out.
KENNEDY
I guess this is the place.
DAWN
Room 406.
KENNEDY starts to walk to the stairs to the second floor.
XANDER
Wait; let's check with the manager first, see if they're in.
XANDER begins to walk to the manager's booth, DAWN and KENNEDY follow him. XANDER reaches the booth first, and he peeks through the window, then he turns back and starts to walk to the stairs. KENNEDY looks at him puzzled.
XANDER
They're in, alright.
KENNEDY and DAWN walk to the booth and peek through the window. CAMERA ON: The motel manager, laying in his booth, dead, two little holes in his neck.
19 INT. MOTEL ROOM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The door. (we can only see the door, but we can hear obnoxiously loud R&B.) There's knocking on the door, some big guy moves into the picture and opens up it up. It's XANDER, with KENNEDY and DAWN on either side of him. He steps inside. CAMERA ON: The room is filled with several young men, among others-- those who we've seen in the first scene. There's also a lot of skanky looking women there, trying to give the early Faith a run for her money, apparently. The guys look up at XANDER. XANDER looks at KENNEDY and DAWN.
XANDER
Ladies, it's party time!
They both nod.
The big vamp at the door grabs Dawn from behind, and one attacks her from the front. She swings her legs up and kicks him away.
CUT TO: KENNEDY, who walks up to the first vamp she sees. He swings; she ducks, rises up and plants a stake in his chest, plain and simple. Two others charge for her.
CUT TO: XANDER, gesturing to the women to get out. He grabs one of them, who has crouched under the bed. He pulls her with. A vamp tries to block the way. XANDER moves to the left, but the vamp does too. When XANDER moves to the right, the vamp moves with him once again. XANDER rolls his eyes and moves his stake up high. The vampire grabs his hand, but XANDER kicks him in the nuts and he falls down. XANDER quickly drags the girl out of there.
CUT TO: DAWN, having seen XANDER's move, kicks the vamp that's holding her in the nuts with her heels. He, of course, immediately lets go. DAWN jumps on the bed as another vamp tries to grab her ankles. She bounces on the bed, and he misses and falls on the bed by her feet. She lands on him and stakes him. As the vampire dusts under her feet, she falls down and lands on her back.
CUT TO: KENNEDY in hand-to-hand combat with two vampires. (One on her left, one on her right.) They quickly exchange punches. At one point, instead of blocking a punch, she grabs the vamp's arm. KENNEDY makes an odd move with it, and we hear a loud crack. She pushes the arm to the other vamps chest. The one without the broken arm gets pinned by the arm protruding from its chest, and KENNEDY stakes them both.
She turns around to DAWN, who's getting up from the bed.
KENNEDY
That was a slayer worthy show you put up tonight.
DAWN (getting red)
Really? You think so?
KENNEDY
Yeah, I just... Hey, where's Xander?
DAWN
He's comforting those girls.
KENNEDY (sarcastic)
Ain't that sweet of him?
20 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN, KENNEDY and XANDER lying on the couch. WILLOW and BUFFY come in with drinks and snacks.
XANDER
Great, I can do with some of those.
He picks up a drink from the tray BUFFY'S holding. BUFFY sits down between him and DAWN, while WILLOW puts a bowl of chips on the table and sits down next to KENNEDY.
KENNEDY
So how's the old guy doing?
BUFFY
He's fine. He has some pretty nasty wounds, but he'll survive.
She turns to XANDER.
We've put him in your room, I hope you don't mind.
XANDER
Nah, I'll just share with you.
KENNEDY
By the way, you'll be pleased to hear that your training has totally worked.
BUFFY
Oh really, so how'd she do? Give me details.
KENNEDY looks at DAWN and smiles.
KENNEDY
Well, she doesn't have strength like us, but she used her wits, which made up for it.
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, looking proud at DAWN, who's feeling a bit embarrassed.
BLACK OUT
