8.10 Spirits Part II

22 INT. AIRPLANE - NIGHT
TANNER
Now, as I was saying this Slayer was hired to kill Miss Suarez.
CUT TO:
1 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET - NIGHT
KENNEDY walking the streets. CUT TO:
Suddenly we hear a loud bang. KENNEDY looks up. CAMERA TURNS AROUND TO: the van, it has crashed into another car. KENNEDY walks toward it. But then from several directions people (5 of them) move in on the van, vampires.
CUT TO: The VAMPIRE LEADER walking to the back of the van. He opens the doors, gets in and walks back out with something, it's small, so we can't see what it is. Then from behind the truck a dark figure sneaks up to him. And with a firm swing, stakes him from behind. As the VAMPIRE LEADER dusts, the dark figure reaches out for whatever was stole, at this moment we can see it's MERCUTIO. Then he backs away and goes off. KENNEDY stares after him and as she does, she doesn't pay any attention to one vampire left alive and he runs away.
CUT TO:
6 INT. ABANDONNED BUNKER - DAY
CAMERA ON: A sniveling figure, the VAMPIRE that escaped from KENNEDY earlier on, is led into a room, by two bigger vamps. PAN AROUND TO a big red-skinned demon, CERRETO, in a neat suit. He's sitting behind a simple desk with nothing but a laptop on it. By him stand another large guy, DAVINO. And near a table at the left side of the room, in the shadow a person in lab coat is mixing substances in bottles. The vampire gets thrown in front of CERRETO. Who has now stood up and walked around his desk.
CUT TO:
VAMPIRE
That's how I escaped; the stranger stepped into the light. The slayer was surprised by him, I didn't see him, but by the expression on her face I could tell she knew him. She stood in shock for a moment, that's when I ran.
CUT TO:
CERRETO
Good riddens. Doctor Matthews, is there something you can brew to make the slayer talk?
DOCTOR MATTHEWS
Sure, but I'll need some Orpheus for it, and that's very rare!
CERRETO
Fine. Davino you and your men get ready to bring the slayer in and get the doctor his Orpheus!
CUT TO:
9 EXT. EDMONSVILLE UNIVERSITY - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY leaving one of the buildings, she walks to the street. She walks along the curb. She passes a dark van. When she has, its back door swings open and a sting gun is fired at her, she passes out and falls down. Two men dressed in black grab her and drag her in. Then the car drives off.
14 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, she's attached to the chair she's sitting on with metal chains. DOCTOR MATTHEW is by his table, DAVINO is standing by and CERRETO is questioning KENNEDY.
CERRETO
Oh, that's right. Maybe I ought to explain a few things, just to get things clear. See, for a long time now, you've been menacing our business. We've tried to take you out before"¦ didn't exactly work, but since neither you nor any of your friends had or still have for that matter, any idea, who we are or what we do, we figured trying to take you out again wasn't worth the risk of them finding out"¦ However, recently, a special cargo was to be delivered here in Edmonsville, something we were to intercept.
CUT TO:
So the million dollar question; who took it?
KENNEDY
Ha! Like I'm going to say.
CERRETO, standing in front of her, now turns his back to her.
CERRETO
I'm very persuasive.
CUT TO:
DOCTOR MATTHEWS walks up to her and gives her the injection, as the CAMERA pulls back.
CUT TO:
16 INT. HEMMINGWAY'S MANSION CORRIDOR "“ DAY (cont'd)
DAWN is standing in the corridor she is on the phone.
BUFFY (on the phone)
Have you seen Kennedy today?
CUT TO:
BUFFY (on the phone)
She hasn't attended any of her classes since lunch, she hasn't come home, hasn't called anyone and someone found her bag on the street"¦ we think something odd might be going on.
CUT TO:
25 INT. SUMMER's RESIDENCE "“ NIGHT
The Scoobies Scrappies are all sitting around the dining table.
BUFFY
It was Faith, she called me to warn that slayers all over the world are going berserk.
The others look up shocked.
BUFFY
It might be connected with Kennedy's disappearance. They don't know what the cause is, she couldn't tell me much more.
KARA
So do you think it's possible somebody did something to Kennedy which caused this? This the First person perhaps?
WILLOW
Quite possible or perhaps the same person, who send Stephanie after her, it could be anything or anyone; we don't have any leads on this.
CUT TO:
DAWN
We could try to call Giles and the Council, we're not exactly happy with each other, but we could put our differences aside for the greater good.
Then the bell rings.
BUFFY
Or we could just see who's at the door.
BUFFY stands up and walks to the stairs, WILLOW and XANDER follow her.
TEASER
1 INT. AQUARIA - DAY
CAMERA ON: An aquarium, different sorts of fishes are swimming by peacefully, but then suddenly KENNEDY, holding DAVINO, comes up from behind the CAMERA and pushes him against the glass so hard, that it cracks and a gulf of water and exotic fish flows out. (Note: no live fish were harmed during the writing of this sequence.) Both fighters get back on their feet quickly, as KENNEDY removes a glass splinter from her arm. Meanwhile some students have gathered around the two of them. But as KENNEDY casts an eye in their direction, they all back off.

ACT I
2 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, WILLOW and XANDER standing by the door, BUFFY opens it.
CUT TO: MARGARETH, the old guardian, standing at the door.
MARGARETH
Buffy, if you want to save your friend and the other slayers, I need you to come with me.
They all give her an odd look.
BUFFY
You know what's happening then?
MARGARETH
Only partially, but I can lead you to the people who do know; the ones responsible.
WILLOW and XANDER look at BUFFY, as she stands there in silence. Obviously trying to make up her mind. Then BUFFY turns to WILLOW and XANDER.
BUFFY
Will; don't wait for me to come back, if you see an opportunity to save her. And Xander, remind Dawn not to keep dropping her left shoulder.
He nods. Then BUFFY turns to MARGARETH.
BUFFY
So tell me, where are those three old fools hanging out?
MARGARETH smiles and then the two of them walk off. XANDER and WILLOW take a look at each other, both puzzled, and then they walk back into the house.
3 INT. MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: CERRETO, infuriated, and DOCTOR MATTHEWS, confused. CAMERA TURNS around, to DAVINO and KENNEDY, both bleeding.
DOCTOR MATTHEWS (confused)
I really don't get it, this is not supposed to happen, there's something strange going on. I-I can't explain this.
The infuriated CERRETO picks him up from the ground and holds him up in the air.
CERRETO (furious)
You would better fix it then"¦ and soon!
Then CERRETO throws him to the ground. The doctor then gets up and starts mixing potions, which are laid out on the desk. He spills much, as his hands are trembling.
4 INT. SUMMER's RESIDENCE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The gang sitting at the table, all busy making phone calls, browsing the books or the net. When yet again, the bell rings. XANDER stands up and goes down. Then KARA looks up from her book.
KARA
Say uhm Willow?
WILLOW looks up from her laptop.
WILLOW
Yes?
KARA
How about these guys, the Circle of the Black Thorn? They could be strong enough to pull this, right?
KARA hands WILLOW over a book.
WILLOW
Possibly"¦ no, wait. It's not them, it's not their type of thing, they're a bit more like politicians.
Then XANDER comes back in, with MERCUTIO.
XANDER
Okay everybody, drop the books, we've got a winner.
WILLOW looks up at them. MERCUTIO and XANDER sit down.
XANDER
Lux, do me a favour and get the map of Edmonsville from that pile.
LUX reaches out for the map from the pile of documents next to her. Meanwhile DAWN puts down her phone. They all look at XANDER, anxiously. Who then looks at MERCUTIO and nods. MERCUTIO points out some place on the map.
MERCUTIO
That's where she's being kept.
WILLOW look at the place he points out on the map.
WILLOW (sceptical)
Former military bunker? So who are they?... and how do you know?
MERCUTIO
It's a criminal bunch, a few demon leaders and a lot of vampire henchmen. They're into the drugs business. I wouldn't be surprised if they also send that other slayer after her.
WILLOW
Buffy told you about her?"¦ still; explain how you know all this?
MERCUTIO
Does it matter how I know.
XANDER
Some of us don't trust vampires.
MERCUTIO casts him an angry eye.
MERCUTIO
Very nice for them, but I'm not one.
KARA
Don't want to be too intrusive, but he is our only lead so far.
Everybody looks at KARA, all surprised of her saying something.
KARA
Right?
XANDER
Alright then, so how tight is security? Do they have defensive spells? Guards, how many of them are we going to encounter?
MERCUTIO
I'm not sure, but I think there are about a hundred vampires working for them, if I had to guess there'd be around thirty to forty at the base perhaps?
WILLOW
I've never sensed anything special about the place, so they must have some spells up to keep the place hidden, so perhaps also some minor defensive spells?!? Maybe.
XANDER
Let's bring out the weapons then.
5 EXT. DESERT "“ NIGHT
BUFFY comes tumbling through a portal. We recognize this as being the desert she met the cavemen in 7.15 "Get It Done". Then MARGARETH tumbles through, BUFFY helps her up. MARGARETH points to the right.
MARGARETH
That's where we have to go!
They start walking.
BUFFY
You've been here before then?
MARGARETH
About a fifty years ago"¦ place hasn't changed much since.
BUFFY
Yeah, you'd figure they'd have done some redecorating.
MARGARETH gives her a confused look.
BUFFY
Right, you're not totally accustomed to modern day jokes then, I'll try to keep it to an absolute minimum then"¦ though it's hard with these old fools.
MARGARETH
I know you don't like them and neither do I, but there's no need to mock then"¦ they may be old, but are still strong and we're on their turf.
BUFFY
Yeah, yeah"¦ I know.
They reach a cave. MARGARETH walks in in front of BUFFY.
MARGARETH
We'd better stay close together, these caves are real mazes.
CUT TO: A few shots of them walking through the caves. Finally CUT TO:
6 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT (cont'd)
MARGARETH and BUFFY reach the place, the SHADOW-MEN and BUFFY were last time, the chains still lay about. From three different tunnels now enter the three SHADOW-MEN in tribal fashion, each holding a tall staff and wearing different coloured hats and clothes; the black shadow-man is called HEWA, the brown shadow-man is called ARDHI, and the red shadow-man is called MOTO.
The men are again speaking some unrecognizable language.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 An unexpected visit indeed.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 In our last conversation you told us we were just men?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 But then, aren't you just a girl?
BUFFY
Okay, so you're more then the average men"¦ now cut the small-talk, I need something from you!
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Changed your mind?
BUFFY
I need answers, not the power!
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Power is indeed not the solution to this situation, but neither are we.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 We're not the ones, who created this problem; you're witch friend changed our rules.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Meet with her!
BUFFY
She doesn't know, but you know exactly how the slayer line works, so you know what the problem is.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 If you reverse your spell, it will all be over.
The SHADOW-MEN turn around and want to walk off.
BUFFY
You know I won't let that happen, there must be another way"¦ get back here.
But they're gone.
7 INT. BOARDING SCHOOL DINING ROOM "“ DAY
All the doors are locked at girls are all against the walls out of fear, while KENNEDY runs around with a knife, killing them one by one. Meanwhile DAVINO, breathing heavy, stands by the FOURTEENTH, who just silently sits and watches. He's taking care of his wounds.
DAVINO
Why is she doing this? Why are you doing this to her?
THE FOURTEENTH
I'm not doing anything. This is her, this is the slayer.
DAVINO
Then who are you and why are you here?
THE FOURTEENTH
You ask a lot of questions for someone nearly dead.
DAVINO
I'm not dead yet, so answer me!
THE FOURTEENTH
I am the slayer"¦ I am here to seek freedom.
DAVINO raises his eyebrow.
THE FOURTEENTH
Don't attempt to understand, mere demons could never understand. You are but insects to be squashed under the feet of what we descend from. We come from so much greater things. Whereas you are a just a slave, serving your master, who is a slave himself.
DAVINO
Ha, you must've been in hibernation too long"¦ slayers serve just as well, they serve their watchers.
THE FOURTEENTH
Ignorant pig. Watchers serve us, we serve no master but our own ambition"¦ now stop talking and fight.
PAN UP: To KENNEDY standing at the other side of the room. The walls are all coloured red, and we see no girls left alive. DAVINO gets up and walks back up to her. CUT TO:
8 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
XANDER, sitting at the dining table, he's preparing a crossbow. Then he grabs together different arrow and dips the points of some of them in oil. Then he flicks a lighter to test if it works.
9 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE LIVING ROOM "“ NIGHT
CUT TO: MERCUTIO sitting on the couch, with his eyes closed, he's meditating.
10 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE KITCHEN - NIGHT
CUT TO: WILLOW standing in the kitchen by the dressers, on which she has laid out all sorts of powders and potions. She puts them in her pockets.
11 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE DAWN'S ROOM - NIGHT
CUT TO: DAWN is swinging a sword, to test it out.
PAN OVER TO: KARA, sitting on the bed sticking stakes by her.
PAN OVER TO: LUX standing by an axe proudly, she is looking at herself in the mirror, striking a pose.
12 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
BUFFY is looking at MARGARETH, confused.
BUFFY
You said, they'd know the answer!
MARGARETH
Didn't say you'd like it.
BUFFY
You agree with them?
MARGARETH
No"¦ I'm sure there's another way, but it will probably be one they don't like.
BUFFY
So how are we going to get them to tell us?
MOTO (O.S.)
(Subt.🙂 Let's"¦ negotiate.
PAN AROUND TO: The three SHADOW-MEN are back, this time all three have come from the same tunnel.
ACT II
13 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and MARGARETH standing on one side of the cave, the three SHADOW-MEN on the other.
BUFFY
Negotiate?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 We will tell you what you need to know.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 If you perform a small task for us.
BUFFY
Oh no, I'm not going to work for you.
MOTO walks over to her, and places his hand on her head.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 I need to show you again then?
CUT TO:
14 EXT. NEW YORK CITY ALLEY "“ NIGHT
We're on one end of the alley, on the other we see a girl, NY-SLAYER, running in. She quickly runs toward the CAMERA. The CAMERA PANS around to see her trying to climb a fence. But she's pulled off by FAITH. The NY-SLAYER hits FAITH in the face, who falls back. NY-SLAYER jumps on top of FAITH. FAITH tries to push her off, but the NY-SLAYER is resisting. Then WOOD pulls her off, and throws her into the fence. He helps FAITH up. CUT TO:
15 INT. WATCHER'S HEADQUARTERS LONDON - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: GILES, standing by a couple of other WATCHERS, they're looking through a window, into a cell, in which DANA is going insane again. She's jumping up to the walls. And then up to the window through which the WATCHERS are looking at her. CUT TO:
16 EXT. ITALIAN SQUARE ROME "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A girl, ROME-SLAYER, is fighting off tough looking Italian men (who we recognize from Angel 5.20 "The Girl in Question"). Then the CAMERA PULLS AWAY from them, to across the road, where Andrew is standing, he's on his cell phone.
ANDREW (On the phone)
Denomini il Immortal, gli dicono che, nè noi nè il suo uomo possiamo prenderli.
CUT TO:
17 INT. MIAMI MALL "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A girl, MIAMI-SLAYER, is standing in the middle of the mall, there are three bodies laying next to her. She has a large machete, with blood on it. Other people are hiding, then she starts walking to the exit. CUT TO:
18 EXT. MIAMI MALL "“ NIGHT
The MIAMI-SLAYER walks out of the mall, across from it are police cars blocking off the streets. CUT TO:
19 EXT. MIAMI ROOFTOP ACROSS FROM MALL "“ NIGHT
A SNIPER on top of the building, aiming at the girl, then he shoots. CUT TO:
20 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
BUFFY backs off in shock.
BUFFY
So what do you want from me?
MARGARETH looks at her confused.
BUFFY
I really don't have any other choice.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 You would have to deal with the source of the problem,
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 You will have to fight it.
BUFFY
You know I don't fight anymore, I quit being a slayer.
The SHADOW-MEN laugh and even MARGARETH smirks.
BUFFY
What?
Then she turns to MARGARETH.
BUFFY
I miss something?
CUT TO:
21 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A VAMPIRE-GUARD standing by the entrance. Then an arrow flies through the air and hits him right in the heart and he dusts. PAN AROUND: To see the gang arriving. White-haired WILLOW floating in the middle, XANDER with his crossbow next to her on one side and MERCUTIO with his long coat flapping in the wind next to XANDER. On the other side of WILLOW, the fully armed trio of LUX, DAWN and KARA. PAN AROUND to see another VAMPIRE-GUARD by the gate he raises the alarm. Red flashing lights all over the base light up and sirens sounds. The doors of the base open and from several places countless vampires come up. CUT TO:
22 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY walking the streets. All is quiet and deserted. She is looking down at the ground and looking rather sad. Then a van passes her by. She looks to the side, but then looks down again. Suddenly we hear a loud bang. KENNEDY looks up. CAMERA TURNS AROUND TO: the van, it has crashed into another car. KENNEDY walks toward it. But then from several directions people (5) move in on the van, vampires. The DRIVER and his CO-DRIVER step out of the van, armed with sawn-off shotguns. The DRIVER fires a shot at the closest by vampire. He flies to the ground, vamp faces and gets up again. Then KENNEDY reaches the DRIVER and without any hesitation snaps his neck. Then she turns to the VAMPIRES, who look at her most pleased, until KENNEDY puts a stake in the first one of them. The VAMPIRES jump at her, and while she fights them in the background, the CAMERA MOVES to DAVINO, who's walking up to the back of the truck. There is no one there yet. Then we hear a loud bang, DAVINO turns around, just in time to see KENNEDY standing there, throwing away the shotgun as the CO-DRIVER hits the ground. Two of the other vampires are still alive and ready to fight. Then DAVINO turns around again and is now face to face with MERCUTIO. MERCUTIO strikes and hits the already battered up DAVINO right in the face. DAVINO takes a few steps back but then attacks himself, MERCUTIO dodges and tackles DAVINO in the process. DAVINO is laying on the ground and MERCUTIO looks down at him angry, but then KENNEDY steps up from behind him and snaps his neck and MERCUTIO drops down to the ground dead. CUT TO:
23 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
BUFFY
You know I don't fight anymore, I quit being a slayer.
The SHADOW-MEN laugh and even MARGARETH smirks.
BUFFY
What?
Then she turns to MARGARETH.
BUFFY
I miss something?
MARGARETH
You may not fight anymore, but you sure couldn't stop your true self from showing"¦ for the whole past year without fighting the only thing you have been doing is helping people. Be it training your sister, helping with the research or helping the patients at the ward"¦ you were still about helping people, you can't run from it, you can't quit it, because becoming a slayer isn't getting a second nature, it's showing your first.
There's a beat. BUFFY doesn't look too happy, but realizes it's the truth.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Are you ready for our tale?
BUFFY nods silently.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 A long time ago, demons roamed our earths. Our villages were like trees to them, they could pluck the ripe fruits off any time without any problem.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Four sorcerers were all that stood between them and annihilation of our species.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Until one day, the demons in large numbers sought up the four sorcerers, when they were in the desert casting their spells.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 They ran from the demons, ran to hide in a cave.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It was this cave we hid in.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 They followed us and ran we did, deeper and deeper into the ground, "˜till there was no place left to go to"¦ and then we found it.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 A well of power.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Ancient demon power.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 The truest we would ever behold.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 We took some of it, used it to defeat the demons chasing us.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It turned the tides. We were famed for defeating demons and we travelled across the entire land of the living to defeat them.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But we grew old. Our powers weakened, our abilities got lost.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 So we decided to spend our time creating something that would last. The slayer-spirit.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 But the first spirit we made didn't work, it had the strength, but it could not be passed on. We put the spirit away, locked it up. And started working again.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Then finally we succeeded, the spirit was done. And we gave it to a girl, she would be...
BUFFY
The first slayer.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 And we saw that it was good.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 For a while.
CUT TO:
24 INT. EDMONSVILLE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY "“ DAY
CAMERA ON: DAVINO and KENNEDY are on the tables, they're fighting. KENNEDY is trying to kick him, but he blocks exceptionally well. The FOURTEENTH is sitting there, just watching, next to a red headed girl, who has her head on the table in a pile of blood. (This is off course WILLOW.) Then DAVINO strikes back and KENNEDY crashes into a computer. She quickly gets up again and kicks a book up, which brings DAVINO out of his balance. Then she runs into him and slams him into a book case. He falls down and even off the table, then however the scenery begins to blur and we FADE TO:
25 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET - NIGHT
It's the main street, it's dark and rainy. KENNEDY and the FOURTEENTH look around, confused. DAVINO looks at the FOURTEENTH, meaning to ask what's wrong.
THE FOURTEENTH
This is not right.
DAVINO
What? What isn't right?
THE FOURTEENTH
She doesn't remember this, this isn't in her memory nor in mine.
DAVINO looks suspicious, then walks over to a newsstand and looks at the newspaper. KENNEDY in the background is still looking around confused.
DAVINO
What the?
THE FOURTEENTH looks up at him this time.
DAVINO
This is the future.
CUT TO:
26 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON : BUFFY and MARGARETH listening to the SHADOW-MEN'S tale.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 She died and another was called. She died too and yet another was called.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 But none of them lived long, so we made another spirit, a stronger spirit with more power.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 By the time it was done, the thirteenth slayer was called, she was the first to wear our third spirit. We locked the second one up and gave her the third spirit.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 She outlived all the other slayers, and we saw that it was good.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 For a while.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 She died too eventually and the next girl was called; the fourteenth.
CUT TO:
27 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: THE FOURTEENTH, standing next to DAVINO, looking around confused. We hear strange destructive noises in the distance, then there's a WOOSH-sound and WILLOW flies through the street and crashes into the building across from them. She's all white-haired and looking very angry. Then someone else teleports into the street a few feet from WILLOW. We can only see her back side, as she's facing WILLOW, but her hair and clothes are the same as DARTH ROSENBERG'S. KENNEDY starts staring at the two witches, who don't seem to notice them being there. CUT TO:
28 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
RED HAT SHADOW-MAN
(Subt.🙂 This girl was different though. She couldn't handle the power. She didn't obey our will, she didn't fight for good at all. She rampaged, killing all in her path"¦ animal, demon or human.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Until the day she came to look us up. She killed one of us, but we could not kill he. However we managed to lock her up deep down, here in our timeless cave.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 We re-installed the second spirit again. It wasn't as strong, but we could trust on it, the girls could control the power.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 And we saw that it was good.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Until you came.
CUT TO:
29 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
Red light all over the base have lit up and sirens sounds. The doors of the base open and from several places countless vampires come up. CUT TO:
XANDER picks up the first of his oil-dipped arrows, lights it on fire and then shoots it at the closest by gang of vampires, one of the incinerates and the rest spread out. CUT TO:
WILLOW, she has levitated herself from the ground and now conjuring up fireballs which she then shoots and the groups near the base. CUT TO:
MERCUTIO, he storms into the first group of vampires. The vampires are like him unarmed and they all swing at him with their bare fists, as he works himself into the centre of the group, he skilfully manages to dodge them. CUT TO:
DAWN, LUX and KARA, as a group, charge at the for them nearest by group of vampires of seven vampires. DAWN makes first contact, as she pierces her sword through the chest of the vampire at the front. LUX at the same time decapitates one with her axe and KARA skilfully stakes one.
ACT III
30 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 It was good.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Until you came.
BUFFY
Let me guess; my not wanting to die has something to do with it.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 First time you died, you were revived so shortly after your death, that the spirit of the slayer had not yet left your body.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 And as you were alive again, it wouldn't at all anymore.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Meanwhile our spell had already activated the next slayer, but she was powerless without the spirit.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Now you must understand, this vacant space inside her attracts more forcefully then a diamonds to a magpie, or iron to a magnet.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 So forcefully in fact, that it drew the third spirit without its cage and into her.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 The first slayer to carry it, the Jamaican, wore it with great pride and honour, and all went well.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 But then she was killed and the next girl was called, she unfortunately was not strong enough.
BUFFY
Faith.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But there was nothing we could do about it anymore.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 All we could do is hope that you would die soon and we would gain possession of the second spirit again and then at the other slayer's death switch the two again.
BUFFY
And so you did?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 If only we'd have been in the fortunate position to do so.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 See, not only did you die.
BUFFY
Like it wasn't bad enough?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 You jumped through that portal, the energy was too much"¦
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It destroyed the spirit of the slayer.
BUFFY now gets a more serious look on her face.
BUFFY
What do you mean? Destroyed?
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 It's like a precious well shaped sandstone sculpture"¦
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Gets smashed into a rock.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 You destroyed it.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But lets not waste our words on things that can't be changed anymore.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 You were yet again revived.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Being the one highest unoccupied slayer up in the line of slayers, the third spirit passed on to you and left the other slayer powerless. And she now being the highest lured out the first spirit.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Now you had the strongest of the two spirits, which you would be able to control.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 And she the weaker of the two, which she would be able to control.
BUFFY
But hers couldn't be passed on, right?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 So if she would die, the line would continue, but all with powerless slayers.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Until one day would be your end, and then the third spirit would take place in the then current slayer.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 But the trick is"¦ if you kill off the strongest potential candidates for the slayer spirit"¦
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Another evil slayer would rise.
BUFFY
The First.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 He would destroy the slayer-line by having evil-slayers rise.
BUFFY
Couldn't you just have created a new spirit?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Not when there's only the three of us.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Before there was the four of us.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But the Fourteenth killed Maji.
BUFFY
What I still don't get, why did you offer me more power last year?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 It wasn't just power, it was power with a will.
BUFFY offended
You wanted to take control, you wanted slayers to lose their free will.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Regrettably it was the only option we saw.
BUFFY
Spare me your nonsense, maybe it was your only option, but don't pretend you would've minded to take control. But enough of this, you still haven't told me what's going on right now.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Your witch friend multiplied the third spirit and divided it over all potentials around the world, even those who can't handle it.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 That is why so many slayers over the past few months have been going insane, evil or whatever you wish to call it.
BUFFY
Yeah yeah sure, just get to what's going on now!
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Hmm, like many slayers you have not been blessed with the virtue of patience"¦ You also might know, that spirit of the slayer contains memories of all the past slayers.
BUFFY
Yes, and?
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Now somebody has used Orpheus on Kennedy. It's a magical potion that causes her to relive things from her past.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 But with the strong presence of the Fourteenth slayer in her, this caused the Fourteenth to be able to manifest through these memories.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It has worked like a magnifying glass, causing her to be able to manifest in the real world through the bodies of the other slayers.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 It won't be long until she'll be able to escape our prison and materialize in the real world, who knows what she could do there with an army of insane Slayers backing her up.
BUFFY looks down, thinking.
So what can I do about it?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Follow us.
They leave through another tunnel and MARGARETH and BUFFY follow them.
CUT TO:
31 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
MERCUTIO is in the middle of a group of unarmed vampires. The vampires try to hit him, but he manages to block them all. But from behind him he gets hit. Fortunately he quickly gets up his feet again, before the others get to him. But another one manages to hit him and as he prepares to get up again another one. More and more vamps start hitting him as we PAN OUT, to reveal a whole clutch of vamps on him. But then, the tower of vamps collapses as a lot of bats fly away from them. They come back together to form MERCUTIO'S body behind the staple. SLOW MOTION: MERCUTIO kicks a wooden barrel, which he's standing close to, he catches one of the pieces of wood and rapidly turns and throws into through the pile of vamps. END SLOW MOTION: The piece of wood leaves the pile, hits the ground and finally falls still. Then we see a few of the vamps in the pile turn to dusts and the pile collapses again, now vamps however are getting off of it. CUT TO:
DAWN, KARA and LUX side by side skilfully staking, slashing and hacking through the charging vampires as more keep on coming, the vampires get dusted like dandelions in the wind. Then the vampires back off and from the middle of the group a BIG VAMPIRE comes up, he has a bare torso with scars on it and he carries a large hammer. CUT TO:
The main entrance, vampires are still coming out from it, but across the yard, about 20 feet away from the door, XANDER is shooting his arrows at them, but finally there's getting too much of them and they manage to spread out. But then from the sky fire balls rapidly fall down on them and they incinerate. WILLOW floats down lower to the ground and floats through the entrance to inside the bunker. XANDER now turns to the group near MERCUTIO and starts aiming at them. CUT TO:
32 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
We're looking at the inside of a large cave, along the side is a path leading up, from which BUFFY, MARGARETH and the SHADOW-MEN descend. At the bottom of the path are two big stones with torch flames on them, the SHADOW-MEN stop right in front of them.
BUFFY
We there yet?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Yes, this is the prison, invisible magic walls keep everything within this cave.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 If you step through these two flames, there will be no way back left.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Good luck!
BUFFY nods and then steps through the two stones. As she does so, the air wrinkles a bit. CUT TO:
33 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY, DAVINO and THE FOURTEENTH are now on the beach and KENNEDY and DAVINO are circling around each other. Then THE FOURTEENTH suddenly looks up estranged.
THE FOURTEENTH
Well well, it's looks as though I have a visitor. I will have to leave you for a bit now. You two just have fun. That means kill him.
Then THE FOURTEENTH fades away. And KENNEDY turns to DAVINO and both prepare for their fight. CUT TO:
34 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
As BUFFY is inspecting the large cave, which seems to be empty, THE FOURTEENTH suddenly materializes right in front of her, just a mere five feet away. BUFFY looks at her, and she looks back.
BUFFY
You want to release my friend and the other slayers?
THE FOURTEENTH gives her an odd look
No.
BUFFY
I was afraid so"¦ no need for any small talk then.
Then right away BUFFY runs toward her, and tries a jump kick, THE FOURTEENTH tries to block, but BUFFY hits her and she falls down, but the attempted block is enough to throw BUFFY of her feet too. Both girls simultaneously get back on their feet. And charge at each other, BUFFY begins trying to punch THE FOURTEENTH, but THE FOURTEENTH dodges, then THE FOURTEENTH attacks with a series of continuous kick, but BUFFY, though with effort, can keep up with blocking. CUT TO:
35 EXT. ABANDONNED MILLITARY BUNKER "“ NIGHT
The vampires are charging at MERCUTIO, one by one. He keeps throwing them off, but then a vampire tackles him. He gets up but the vamp hits him again, MERCUTIO then lifts the vampire and throws him into two other charging vampires. More and more vampires gather around MERCUTIO, the keep trying to hit him, but he manages to dodge or block most. And every now and again he manages to stake one of them with his piece of wood. CUT TO:
36 INT. ABANDONNED MILLITARY BUNKER "“ NIGHT
WILLOW is floating through the hallways of the bunker, from all side-tunnels vampire run at her, but with swift swings she conjures up fire balls and incinerates them easily. CUT TO:
37 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is fighting DAVINO, or beating up would be more accurate. KENNEDY keeps on beating him continuously changing right and left punches. Finally she kicks him in his stomach and he falls down. She takes out her knife and throws herself at him, but he manages to grab her wrists before the knife cuts him, but KENNEDY pushes through and the edge of the knife is now carving a first cut into his skin. But then, he rolls around and kicks her off. He quickly gets up again. She is still laying by the waterline, but gets up again too. CUT TO:
38 EXT. ABANDONNED MILLITARY BUNKER "“ NIGHT
The BIG VAMPIRE is swinging around with his hammer, as KARA, LUX and DAWN run around him in circles trying to avoid getting hit. However the other vampires gathered near them, now start to interfere and one of them manages to grab hold of KARA. He holds her by her waist. She tries to get away from him, but he is stronger, but then she suddenly ducks, as LUX' axe swings through the air, decapitating the vampire. As the arms holding KARA turn to dusts, she swiftly turns around to stake the next vampire coming up behind her. By now they have been surrounded by normal vampires, while DAWN is still "˜dancing' with the BIG VAMPIRE and he has now cornered her. As she is standing on an edge, she looks down at the ground five feet below. Then she turns back to him, he swings his hammer, but she blocks with her sword. He swings again and she tries to block, but her sword gets hit right out of her hands and falls off the edge, then the BIG VAMPIRE prepares for a final strike. CUT TO:
39 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
BUFFY and THE FOURTEENTH are standing across from each other, waiting for a second, then both slayer charge at each other. As BUFFY prepares to swing, THE FOURTEENTH drops herself to the ground and slides through and tackles BUFFY, who falls flat on her face. BUFFY gets back on her feet and wipes the blood of her face. THE FOURTEENTH, however, does not hesitate a moment and charges again right away. BUFFY dodges the first few punches, but the third one hits her right in the face, and she falls down flat on her back. THE FOURTEENTH attempts to jump right on top of her, but BUFFY kicks her off and sends THE FOURTEENTH flying through the air for a few feet. But THE FOURTEENTH quickly recovers and the two girls charge again. Quickly exchanging jabs, they keep on going at each other without there being a clear better party. Until finally THE FOURTEENTH manages to hit BUFFY, which brings BUFFY out of balance. THE FOURTEENTH takes advantage out of this and continues hitting BUFFY, and then finally makes a jump kick, throwing BUFFY down. CUT TO:
MARGARETH and the SHADOW-MEN watching the fight. CUT TO:
THE FOURTEENTH standing over a hurt BUFFY. She grabs BUFFY by her legs and slings her around through the air, BUFFY flies several feet and then crashes into a rock. CUT TO:
40 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE - NIGHT
WILLOW is still floating around through the building, when suddenly in front of her another vampires comes up, she shoots a fire ball at him, but he ducks and she hits some barrels, which explode. CUT TO:
41 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
MERCUTIO fighting with vamps all around him. Then we hear a big bang. MERCUTIO and all the vampires are brought out of balance a bit, and then a vampire strikes and stabs MERCUTIO by his shoulder. MERCUTIO quickly turns around and picks the vampire up he holds him up high in the air and throws him over the edge of the building, where the vampire eventually lands on a branch of a tree and dusts.
ACT IV
42 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
DAWN is balancing on the edge and the BIG VAMPIRE is ready to strike her with his hammer, but there's a WOOSH sound and the BIG VAMPIRE turns to dusts. DAWN turns around to see XANDER with his crossbow has shot him. She quickly rejoins LUX and KARA, who she gets a stake from.
43 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
THE FOURTEENTH is standing there looking over BUFFY, who's still laying at the rock she crashed into.
THE FOURTEENTH
Ha, and that claims to be a Slayer"¦ like me?
But finally BUFFY gets up again, she's now really bruised and bleeding.
BUFFY
Well now, I guess you got me. You're right, I'm not a slayer"¦ I am *the* slayer!
THE FOURTEENTH smirks and then kicks up a rocks which flies straight at BUFFY's head. But BUFFY catches it with one hand. And with the same hand she crushes the sand-rock stone. Then she starts walking to straight at THE FOURTEENTH with a firm pace. She is looking more pissed then she has ever looked before. As she reaches THE FOURTEENTH. THE FOURTEENTH tries to hit her, but she easily blocks. THE FOURTEENTH then tries to kick her, but BUFFY grabs her leg and throws her to the ground. As THE FOURTEENTH gets up, BUFFY drags her up and pushes her off. THE FOURTEENTH tries to attack, but again BUFFY blocks her. Now THE FOURTEENTH just circles around BUFFY.
THE FOURTEENTH
What's wrong with you?
BUFFY
Nothing is wrong with me.
BUFFY now starts walking toward THE FOURTEENTH again. A few feet away she stops. Both are standing still, looking straight at each other.
THE FOURTEENTH
You can't defeat me"¦ you are made out of me.
BUFFY
No I'm not"¦ not just you.
Then THE FOURTEENTH realises BUFFY is not looking at her, but something behind her, she steps aside to reveal THE FIRST SLAYER. THE FIRST SLAYER throws BUFFY her stake. BUFFY catches it and in one motion she stabs THE FOURTEENTH in the heart with it. THE FOURTEENTH looks at her in shock and then drops to the ground, dead. CUT TO:
44 EXT. NEW YORK CITY ALLEY "“ NIGHT
The NEW-YORK SLAYER and FAITH, both bleeding are standing across from each other ready to fight again, but then the NEW-YORK SLAYER passes out. CUT TO:
45 INT. WATCHER'S HEADQUARTERS LONDON CONFERENCE ROOM - NIGHT
GILES and a few other WATCHERS are all sitting in a conference room talking, when another WATCHER runs in.
WATCHER
It's over"¦ they're all normal again.
GILES and the others look up relieved. CUT TO:
46 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY and DAVINO are fighting, but by DAVINO's poor blocking of KENNEDY's constant swings, we can see he has tired out. But then all of a sudden, KENNEDY stops, she just stands still, dazed. Then DAVINO hits her full on in her face and she gets knocked down to the ground. CUT TO:
47 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
MERCUTIO, XANDER, KARA, LUX and DAWN are by now fighting together, surrounded by a large group of vampire. They're not doing too good. Then from one side the vampire start to incinerate. The other vampires move away from the bunker entrance. WILLOW has come back from inside and is now standing at the entrance firing fire balls. She then stops as most vampires start backing off. Then the vampires turn to run away from the base, but they stop immediately. CUT TO:
BUFFY with the Scythe standing at the other side of the group of vampires. Then a fireball hits the group. WILLOW has levitated herself above the group again, and now BUFFY is running toward them and starts hacking away with the Scythe. The others start fighting them from the other side. CUT TO:
48 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is down in the sand, but DAVINO kicks her in the stomach. She tries to get up, but he does it again, then he picks her up and hits her in the face. She falls down again, but he doesn't quit. He drags her up by her hair and starts hitting her in the stomach, after a few blows he plants his knees in her stomach and she falls down again. CUT TO:
49 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE CORRIDOR "“ NIGHT
The Scoobies are rushing through the corridors, WILLOW leading, followed by BUFFY and then the others. CUT TO:
50 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
CERRETO and DOCTOR MATTHEWS standing by DAVINO and KENNEDY. KENNEDY is getting cut and bruised as the watch over them. CERRETO is smirking, but then suddenly, his smirk faints and he holds his head a bit diagonal as if he's listening to something. CUT TO:
51 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is on the ground and DAVINO walks over to her. He picks her up and holds her up high, then he hits her again. She flies through the air and then lands in the water. KENNEDY tries to get up, but can't. DAVINO is walking toward her. CUT TO:
52 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
The Scoobies have now reached a dead end, all there's left is one door. BUFFY nods at WILLOW. CUT TO:
53 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
A room. ANGLE ON: The door, it gets kicked in, the Scoobies walk in. PAN AROUND: To see CERRETO holding KENNEDY's unconscious body with a gun to her head. DOCTOR MATTHEWS is nervously standing by his table and DAVINO is still in his chair.
CERRETO
I wouldn't recommend you to come any closer.
BUFFY
I don't know who you are pal, but you'd best give her up.
WILLOW
Game's over, we killed all your vampires.
CERRETO
See, that's the good thing about vampires, you can always get yourself some new ones"¦ Now move away from the door and let me through.
BUFFY
How about a no.
CERRETO wiggles the gun he still is holding to KENNEDY's head.
CERRETO
Else, she dies.
CUT TO:
54 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY laying in the water, unable to get up, and DAVINO walking toward her. When he is very near to her, KENNEDY splashes the salt sea water into his face. He takes a step back and tries to wipe the water out of his eyes, but KENNEDY has already jumped up and with one firm swing cuts his throat. CUT TO:
55 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
As the Scoobies, CERRETO and DOCTOR MATTHEWS stand by, DAVINO's throat gets slit by an invisible force. Momentarily KENNEDY opens her eyes and gasps for air. She pulls away from CERRETO and as he falls backwards he fires a shot at KENNEDY and hits her in the back. WILLOW instantly shoot a fireball, which knocks him off his feet and throws him into the far side wall, where he burns alive. BUFFY has caught KENNEDY. WILLOW turns around to them, worried.
BUFFY
We'd better hurry to the hospital.
CUT TO:
56 INT. HOSPITAL ROOM "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is laying in the hospital bed, she's conscious, WILLOW is sitting next to her, holding her hand. LUX, KARA and DAWN are standing by the window. MERCUTIO, XANDER and BUFFY are standing at the end of her bed. All of them are pretty beaten up. All have cuts and bruises.
DAWN
And so we beat the baddie again"¦ I guess things are back to normal?
They all look at BUFFY.
BUFFY
Yeah, they are"¦ I just hope you heal quickly, but I guess you will"¦ comes with the slayer package.
Now all eyes are on KENNEDY
KENNEDY
Yeah, I still feel a little weird though"¦ but I'll live.
She turns to WILLOW.
So, when did the Doctor say he'd have the results.
WILLOW looks at her watch.
WILLOW
Patience. Any minute now"¦ So, what do you all think; the newbies did great, didn't they?
LUX and KARA look up full of pride.
XANDER
They did great"¦ so did the old guy.
MERCUTIO clears his throat.
XANDER
Well, not really old-old"¦ just older then us.
The DOCTOR enters. All look at him in anticipation.
DOCTOR
Goodnight all of you. I uhm, have the results here. Good news is, no vitals organs were hit, so you're not in danger, you'll live.
Everybody looks up happy. But the DOCTOR now looks at them very serious.
DOCTOR
However, there was some serious injury to your spine, and I am truly sorry there isn't anything we can do about it, but as a result of which"¦ you will never be able to walk again.
FADE TO BLACK

Yes, ladies and gentlemen.
That's it. Our season 8 ends here. Will ours be, just like with Angel, the last season? I hope not, but there's always the posibility as we've experienced severe staff-problems. (As in, we have too little people, who want to do this kind of work.) So right now, we're contemplating our next move. Hopefuly we will get to make another 10-episode season during the summer. Of which show we honestly don't know yet; Buffy or Angel, both we think deserve another round... it'll all depend on if and how we can get together a staff. So for now, we will leave you with the knowledge, that whatever happens, the Buffyverse always lives on... in our hearts.

22 INT. AIRPLANE - NIGHT
TANNER
Now, as I was saying this Slayer was hired to kill Miss Suarez.
CUT TO:
1 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET - NIGHT
KENNEDY walking the streets. CUT TO:
Suddenly we hear a loud bang. KENNEDY looks up. CAMERA TURNS AROUND TO: the van, it has crashed into another car. KENNEDY walks toward it. But then from several directions people (5 of them) move in on the van, vampires.
CUT TO: The VAMPIRE LEADER walking to the back of the van. He opens the doors, gets in and walks back out with something, it's small, so we can't see what it is. Then from behind the truck a dark figure sneaks up to him. And with a firm swing, stakes him from behind. As the VAMPIRE LEADER dusts, the dark figure reaches out for whatever was stole, at this moment we can see it's MERCUTIO. Then he backs away and goes off. KENNEDY stares after him and as she does, she doesn't pay any attention to one vampire left alive and he runs away.
CUT TO:
6 INT. ABANDONNED BUNKER - DAY
CAMERA ON: A sniveling figure, the VAMPIRE that escaped from KENNEDY earlier on, is led into a room, by two bigger vamps. PAN AROUND TO a big red-skinned demon, CERRETO, in a neat suit. He's sitting behind a simple desk with nothing but a laptop on it. By him stand another large guy, DAVINO. And near a table at the left side of the room, in the shadow a person in lab coat is mixing substances in bottles. The vampire gets thrown in front of CERRETO. Who has now stood up and walked around his desk.
CUT TO:
VAMPIRE
That's how I escaped; the stranger stepped into the light. The slayer was surprised by him, I didn't see him, but by the expression on her face I could tell she knew him. She stood in shock for a moment, that's when I ran.
CUT TO:
CERRETO
Good riddens. Doctor Matthews, is there something you can brew to make the slayer talk?
DOCTOR MATTHEWS
Sure, but I'll need some Orpheus for it, and that's very rare!
CERRETO
Fine. Davino you and your men get ready to bring the slayer in and get the doctor his Orpheus!
CUT TO:
9 EXT. EDMONSVILLE UNIVERSITY - DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY leaving one of the buildings, she walks to the street. She walks along the curb. She passes a dark van. When she has, its back door swings open and a sting gun is fired at her, she passes out and falls down. Two men dressed in black grab her and drag her in. Then the car drives off.
14 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ DAY
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, she's attached to the chair she's sitting on with metal chains. DOCTOR MATTHEW is by his table, DAVINO is standing by and CERRETO is questioning KENNEDY.
CERRETO
Oh, that's right. Maybe I ought to explain a few things, just to get things clear. See, for a long time now, you've been menacing our business. We've tried to take you out before"¦ didn't exactly work, but since neither you nor any of your friends had or still have for that matter, any idea, who we are or what we do, we figured trying to take you out again wasn't worth the risk of them finding out"¦ However, recently, a special cargo was to be delivered here in Edmonsville, something we were to intercept.
CUT TO:
So the million dollar question; who took it?
KENNEDY
Ha! Like I'm going to say.
CERRETO, standing in front of her, now turns his back to her.
CERRETO
I'm very persuasive.
CUT TO:
DOCTOR MATTHEWS walks up to her and gives her the injection, as the CAMERA pulls back.
CUT TO:
16 INT. HEMMINGWAY'S MANSION CORRIDOR "“ DAY (cont'd)
DAWN is standing in the corridor she is on the phone.
BUFFY (on the phone)
Have you seen Kennedy today?
CUT TO:
BUFFY (on the phone)
She hasn't attended any of her classes since lunch, she hasn't come home, hasn't called anyone and someone found her bag on the street"¦ we think something odd might be going on.
CUT TO:
25 INT. SUMMER's RESIDENCE "“ NIGHT
The Scoobies Scrappies are all sitting around the dining table.
BUFFY
It was Faith, she called me to warn that slayers all over the world are going berserk.
The others look up shocked.
BUFFY
It might be connected with Kennedy's disappearance. They don't know what the cause is, she couldn't tell me much more.
KARA
So do you think it's possible somebody did something to Kennedy which caused this? This the First person perhaps?
WILLOW
Quite possible or perhaps the same person, who send Stephanie after her, it could be anything or anyone; we don't have any leads on this.
CUT TO:
DAWN
We could try to call Giles and the Council, we're not exactly happy with each other, but we could put our differences aside for the greater good.
Then the bell rings.
BUFFY
Or we could just see who's at the door.
BUFFY stands up and walks to the stairs, WILLOW and XANDER follow her.
TEASER
1 INT. AQUARIA - DAY
CAMERA ON: An aquarium, different sorts of fishes are swimming by peacefully, but then suddenly KENNEDY, holding DAVINO, comes up from behind the CAMERA and pushes him against the glass so hard, that it cracks and a gulf of water and exotic fish flows out. (Note: no live fish were harmed during the writing of this sequence.) Both fighters get back on their feet quickly, as KENNEDY removes a glass splinter from her arm. Meanwhile some students have gathered around the two of them. But as KENNEDY casts an eye in their direction, they all back off.

CAMERA ON: BUFFY, WILLOW and XANDER standing by the door, BUFFY opens it.
CUT TO: MARGARETH, the old guardian, standing at the door.
MARGARETH
Buffy, if you want to save your friend and the other slayers, I need you to come with me.
They all give her an odd look.
BUFFY
You know what's happening then?
MARGARETH
Only partially, but I can lead you to the people who do know; the ones responsible.
WILLOW and XANDER look at BUFFY, as she stands there in silence. Obviously trying to make up her mind. Then BUFFY turns to WILLOW and XANDER.
BUFFY
Will; don't wait for me to come back, if you see an opportunity to save her. And Xander, remind Dawn not to keep dropping her left shoulder.
He nods. Then BUFFY turns to MARGARETH.
BUFFY
So tell me, where are those three old fools hanging out?
MARGARETH smiles and then the two of them walk off. XANDER and WILLOW take a look at each other, both puzzled, and then they walk back into the house.
3 INT. MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: CERRETO, infuriated, and DOCTOR MATTHEWS, confused. CAMERA TURNS around, to DAVINO and KENNEDY, both bleeding.
DOCTOR MATTHEWS (confused)
I really don't get it, this is not supposed to happen, there's something strange going on. I-I can't explain this.
The infuriated CERRETO picks him up from the ground and holds him up in the air.
CERRETO (furious)
You would better fix it then"¦ and soon!
Then CERRETO throws him to the ground. The doctor then gets up and starts mixing potions, which are laid out on the desk. He spills much, as his hands are trembling.
4 INT. SUMMER's RESIDENCE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The gang sitting at the table, all busy making phone calls, browsing the books or the net. When yet again, the bell rings. XANDER stands up and goes down. Then KARA looks up from her book.
KARA
Say uhm Willow?
WILLOW looks up from her laptop.
WILLOW
Yes?
KARA
How about these guys, the Circle of the Black Thorn? They could be strong enough to pull this, right?
KARA hands WILLOW over a book.
WILLOW
Possibly"¦ no, wait. It's not them, it's not their type of thing, they're a bit more like politicians.
Then XANDER comes back in, with MERCUTIO.
XANDER
Okay everybody, drop the books, we've got a winner.
WILLOW looks up at them. MERCUTIO and XANDER sit down.
XANDER
Lux, do me a favour and get the map of Edmonsville from that pile.
LUX reaches out for the map from the pile of documents next to her. Meanwhile DAWN puts down her phone. They all look at XANDER, anxiously. Who then looks at MERCUTIO and nods. MERCUTIO points out some place on the map.
MERCUTIO
That's where she's being kept.
WILLOW look at the place he points out on the map.
WILLOW (sceptical)
Former military bunker? So who are they?... and how do you know?
MERCUTIO
It's a criminal bunch, a few demon leaders and a lot of vampire henchmen. They're into the drugs business. I wouldn't be surprised if they also send that other slayer after her.
WILLOW
Buffy told you about her?"¦ still; explain how you know all this?
MERCUTIO
Does it matter how I know.
XANDER
Some of us don't trust vampires.
MERCUTIO casts him an angry eye.
MERCUTIO
Very nice for them, but I'm not one.
KARA
Don't want to be too intrusive, but he is our only lead so far.
Everybody looks at KARA, all surprised of her saying something.
KARA
Right?
XANDER
Alright then, so how tight is security? Do they have defensive spells? Guards, how many of them are we going to encounter?
MERCUTIO
I'm not sure, but I think there are about a hundred vampires working for them, if I had to guess there'd be around thirty to forty at the base perhaps?
WILLOW
I've never sensed anything special about the place, so they must have some spells up to keep the place hidden, so perhaps also some minor defensive spells?!? Maybe.
XANDER
Let's bring out the weapons then.
5 EXT. DESERT "“ NIGHT
BUFFY comes tumbling through a portal. We recognize this as being the desert she met the cavemen in 7.15 "Get It Done". Then MARGARETH tumbles through, BUFFY helps her up. MARGARETH points to the right.
MARGARETH
That's where we have to go!
They start walking.
BUFFY
You've been here before then?
MARGARETH
About a fifty years ago"¦ place hasn't changed much since.
BUFFY
Yeah, you'd figure they'd have done some redecorating.
MARGARETH gives her a confused look.
BUFFY
Right, you're not totally accustomed to modern day jokes then, I'll try to keep it to an absolute minimum then"¦ though it's hard with these old fools.
MARGARETH
I know you don't like them and neither do I, but there's no need to mock then"¦ they may be old, but are still strong and we're on their turf.
BUFFY
Yeah, yeah"¦ I know.
They reach a cave. MARGARETH walks in in front of BUFFY.
MARGARETH
We'd better stay close together, these caves are real mazes.
CUT TO: A few shots of them walking through the caves. Finally CUT TO:
6 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT (cont'd)
MARGARETH and BUFFY reach the place, the SHADOW-MEN and BUFFY were last time, the chains still lay about. From three different tunnels now enter the three SHADOW-MEN in tribal fashion, each holding a tall staff and wearing different coloured hats and clothes; the black shadow-man is called HEWA, the brown shadow-man is called ARDHI, and the red shadow-man is called MOTO.
The men are again speaking some unrecognizable language.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 An unexpected visit indeed.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 In our last conversation you told us we were just men?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 But then, aren't you just a girl?
BUFFY
Okay, so you're more then the average men"¦ now cut the small-talk, I need something from you!
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Changed your mind?
BUFFY
I need answers, not the power!
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Power is indeed not the solution to this situation, but neither are we.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 We're not the ones, who created this problem; you're witch friend changed our rules.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Meet with her!
BUFFY
She doesn't know, but you know exactly how the slayer line works, so you know what the problem is.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 If you reverse your spell, it will all be over.
The SHADOW-MEN turn around and want to walk off.
BUFFY
You know I won't let that happen, there must be another way"¦ get back here.
But they're gone.
7 INT. BOARDING SCHOOL DINING ROOM "“ DAY
All the doors are locked at girls are all against the walls out of fear, while KENNEDY runs around with a knife, killing them one by one. Meanwhile DAVINO, breathing heavy, stands by the FOURTEENTH, who just silently sits and watches. He's taking care of his wounds.
DAVINO
Why is she doing this? Why are you doing this to her?
THE FOURTEENTH
I'm not doing anything. This is her, this is the slayer.
DAVINO
Then who are you and why are you here?
THE FOURTEENTH
You ask a lot of questions for someone nearly dead.
DAVINO
I'm not dead yet, so answer me!
THE FOURTEENTH
I am the slayer"¦ I am here to seek freedom.
DAVINO raises his eyebrow.
THE FOURTEENTH
Don't attempt to understand, mere demons could never understand. You are but insects to be squashed under the feet of what we descend from. We come from so much greater things. Whereas you are a just a slave, serving your master, who is a slave himself.
DAVINO
Ha, you must've been in hibernation too long"¦ slayers serve just as well, they serve their watchers.
THE FOURTEENTH
Ignorant pig. Watchers serve us, we serve no master but our own ambition"¦ now stop talking and fight.
PAN UP: To KENNEDY standing at the other side of the room. The walls are all coloured red, and we see no girls left alive. DAVINO gets up and walks back up to her. CUT TO:
8 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
XANDER, sitting at the dining table, he's preparing a crossbow. Then he grabs together different arrow and dips the points of some of them in oil. Then he flicks a lighter to test if it works.
9 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE LIVING ROOM "“ NIGHT
CUT TO: MERCUTIO sitting on the couch, with his eyes closed, he's meditating.
10 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE KITCHEN - NIGHT
CUT TO: WILLOW standing in the kitchen by the dressers, on which she has laid out all sorts of powders and potions. She puts them in her pockets.
11 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE DAWN'S ROOM - NIGHT
CUT TO: DAWN is swinging a sword, to test it out.
PAN OVER TO: KARA, sitting on the bed sticking stakes by her.
PAN OVER TO: LUX standing by an axe proudly, she is looking at herself in the mirror, striking a pose.
12 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
BUFFY is looking at MARGARETH, confused.
BUFFY
You said, they'd know the answer!
MARGARETH
Didn't say you'd like it.
BUFFY
You agree with them?
MARGARETH
No"¦ I'm sure there's another way, but it will probably be one they don't like.
BUFFY
So how are we going to get them to tell us?
MOTO (O.S.)
(Subt.🙂 Let's"¦ negotiate.
PAN AROUND TO: The three SHADOW-MEN are back, this time all three have come from the same tunnel.
ACT II
13 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and MARGARETH standing on one side of the cave, the three SHADOW-MEN on the other.
BUFFY
Negotiate?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 We will tell you what you need to know.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 If you perform a small task for us.
BUFFY
Oh no, I'm not going to work for you.
MOTO walks over to her, and places his hand on her head.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 I need to show you again then?
CUT TO:
14 EXT. NEW YORK CITY ALLEY "“ NIGHT
We're on one end of the alley, on the other we see a girl, NY-SLAYER, running in. She quickly runs toward the CAMERA. The CAMERA PANS around to see her trying to climb a fence. But she's pulled off by FAITH. The NY-SLAYER hits FAITH in the face, who falls back. NY-SLAYER jumps on top of FAITH. FAITH tries to push her off, but the NY-SLAYER is resisting. Then WOOD pulls her off, and throws her into the fence. He helps FAITH up. CUT TO:
15 INT. WATCHER'S HEADQUARTERS LONDON - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: GILES, standing by a couple of other WATCHERS, they're looking through a window, into a cell, in which DANA is going insane again. She's jumping up to the walls. And then up to the window through which the WATCHERS are looking at her. CUT TO:
16 EXT. ITALIAN SQUARE ROME "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A girl, ROME-SLAYER, is fighting off tough looking Italian men (who we recognize from Angel 5.20 "The Girl in Question"). Then the CAMERA PULLS AWAY from them, to across the road, where Andrew is standing, he's on his cell phone.
ANDREW (On the phone)

17 INT. MIAMI MALL "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A girl, MIAMI-SLAYER, is standing in the middle of the mall, there are three bodies laying next to her. She has a large machete, with blood on it. Other people are hiding, then she starts walking to the exit. CUT TO:
18 EXT. MIAMI MALL "“ NIGHT
The MIAMI-SLAYER walks out of the mall, across from it are police cars blocking off the streets. CUT TO:
19 EXT. MIAMI ROOFTOP ACROSS FROM MALL "“ NIGHT
A SNIPER on top of the building, aiming at the girl, then he shoots. CUT TO:
20 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
BUFFY backs off in shock.
BUFFY
So what do you want from me?
MARGARETH looks at her confused.
BUFFY
I really don't have any other choice.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 You would have to deal with the source of the problem,
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 You will have to fight it.
BUFFY
You know I don't fight anymore, I quit being a slayer.
The SHADOW-MEN laugh and even MARGARETH smirks.
BUFFY
What?
Then she turns to MARGARETH.
BUFFY
I miss something?
CUT TO:
21 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A VAMPIRE-GUARD standing by the entrance. Then an arrow flies through the air and hits him right in the heart and he dusts. PAN AROUND: To see the gang arriving. White-haired WILLOW floating in the middle, XANDER with his crossbow next to her on one side and MERCUTIO with his long coat flapping in the wind next to XANDER. On the other side of WILLOW, the fully armed trio of LUX, DAWN and KARA. PAN AROUND to see another VAMPIRE-GUARD by the gate he raises the alarm. Red flashing lights all over the base light up and sirens sounds. The doors of the base open and from several places countless vampires come up. CUT TO:
22 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY walking the streets. All is quiet and deserted. She is looking down at the ground and looking rather sad. Then a van passes her by. She looks to the side, but then looks down again. Suddenly we hear a loud bang. KENNEDY looks up. CAMERA TURNS AROUND TO: the van, it has crashed into another car. KENNEDY walks toward it. But then from several directions people (5) move in on the van, vampires. The DRIVER and his CO-DRIVER step out of the van, armed with sawn-off shotguns. The DRIVER fires a shot at the closest by vampire. He flies to the ground, vamp faces and gets up again. Then KENNEDY reaches the DRIVER and without any hesitation snaps his neck. Then she turns to the VAMPIRES, who look at her most pleased, until KENNEDY puts a stake in the first one of them. The VAMPIRES jump at her, and while she fights them in the background, the CAMERA MOVES to DAVINO, who's walking up to the back of the truck. There is no one there yet. Then we hear a loud bang, DAVINO turns around, just in time to see KENNEDY standing there, throwing away the shotgun as the CO-DRIVER hits the ground. Two of the other vampires are still alive and ready to fight. Then DAVINO turns around again and is now face to face with MERCUTIO. MERCUTIO strikes and hits the already battered up DAVINO right in the face. DAVINO takes a few steps back but then attacks himself, MERCUTIO dodges and tackles DAVINO in the process. DAVINO is laying on the ground and MERCUTIO looks down at him angry, but then KENNEDY steps up from behind him and snaps his neck and MERCUTIO drops down to the ground dead. CUT TO:
23 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
BUFFY
You know I don't fight anymore, I quit being a slayer.
The SHADOW-MEN laugh and even MARGARETH smirks.
BUFFY
What?
Then she turns to MARGARETH.
BUFFY
I miss something?
MARGARETH
You may not fight anymore, but you sure couldn't stop your true self from showing"¦ for the whole past year without fighting the only thing you have been doing is helping people. Be it training your sister, helping with the research or helping the patients at the ward"¦ you were still about helping people, you can't run from it, you can't quit it, because becoming a slayer isn't getting a second nature, it's showing your first.
There's a beat. BUFFY doesn't look too happy, but realizes it's the truth.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Are you ready for our tale?
BUFFY nods silently.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 A long time ago, demons roamed our earths. Our villages were like trees to them, they could pluck the ripe fruits off any time without any problem.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Four sorcerers were all that stood between them and annihilation of our species.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Until one day, the demons in large numbers sought up the four sorcerers, when they were in the desert casting their spells.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 They ran from the demons, ran to hide in a cave.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It was this cave we hid in.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 They followed us and ran we did, deeper and deeper into the ground, "˜till there was no place left to go to"¦ and then we found it.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 A well of power.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Ancient demon power.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 The truest we would ever behold.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 We took some of it, used it to defeat the demons chasing us.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It turned the tides. We were famed for defeating demons and we travelled across the entire land of the living to defeat them.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But we grew old. Our powers weakened, our abilities got lost.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 So we decided to spend our time creating something that would last. The slayer-spirit.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 But the first spirit we made didn't work, it had the strength, but it could not be passed on. We put the spirit away, locked it up. And started working again.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Then finally we succeeded, the spirit was done. And we gave it to a girl, she would be...
BUFFY
The first slayer.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 And we saw that it was good.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 For a while.
CUT TO:
24 INT. EDMONSVILLE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY "“ DAY
CAMERA ON: DAVINO and KENNEDY are on the tables, they're fighting. KENNEDY is trying to kick him, but he blocks exceptionally well. The FOURTEENTH is sitting there, just watching, next to a red headed girl, who has her head on the table in a pile of blood. (This is off course WILLOW.) Then DAVINO strikes back and KENNEDY crashes into a computer. She quickly gets up again and kicks a book up, which brings DAVINO out of his balance. Then she runs into him and slams him into a book case. He falls down and even off the table, then however the scenery begins to blur and we FADE TO:
25 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET - NIGHT
It's the main street, it's dark and rainy. KENNEDY and the FOURTEENTH look around, confused. DAVINO looks at the FOURTEENTH, meaning to ask what's wrong.
THE FOURTEENTH
This is not right.
DAVINO
What? What isn't right?
THE FOURTEENTH
She doesn't remember this, this isn't in her memory nor in mine.
DAVINO looks suspicious, then walks over to a newsstand and looks at the newspaper. KENNEDY in the background is still looking around confused.
DAVINO
What the?
THE FOURTEENTH looks up at him this time.
DAVINO
This is the future.
CUT TO:
26 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON : BUFFY and MARGARETH listening to the SHADOW-MEN'S tale.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 She died and another was called. She died too and yet another was called.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 But none of them lived long, so we made another spirit, a stronger spirit with more power.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 By the time it was done, the thirteenth slayer was called, she was the first to wear our third spirit. We locked the second one up and gave her the third spirit.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 She outlived all the other slayers, and we saw that it was good.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 For a while.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 She died too eventually and the next girl was called; the fourteenth.
CUT TO:
27 EXT. EDMONSVILLE STREET "“ NIGHT
CAMERA ON: THE FOURTEENTH, standing next to DAVINO, looking around confused. We hear strange destructive noises in the distance, then there's a WOOSH-sound and WILLOW flies through the street and crashes into the building across from them. She's all white-haired and looking very angry. Then someone else teleports into the street a few feet from WILLOW. We can only see her back side, as she's facing WILLOW, but her hair and clothes are the same as DARTH ROSENBERG'S. KENNEDY starts staring at the two witches, who don't seem to notice them being there. CUT TO:
28 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
RED HAT SHADOW-MAN
(Subt.🙂 This girl was different though. She couldn't handle the power. She didn't obey our will, she didn't fight for good at all. She rampaged, killing all in her path"¦ animal, demon or human.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Until the day she came to look us up. She killed one of us, but we could not kill he. However we managed to lock her up deep down, here in our timeless cave.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 We re-installed the second spirit again. It wasn't as strong, but we could trust on it, the girls could control the power.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 And we saw that it was good.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Until you came.
CUT TO:
29 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
Red light all over the base have lit up and sirens sounds. The doors of the base open and from several places countless vampires come up. CUT TO:
XANDER picks up the first of his oil-dipped arrows, lights it on fire and then shoots it at the closest by gang of vampires, one of the incinerates and the rest spread out. CUT TO:
WILLOW, she has levitated herself from the ground and now conjuring up fireballs which she then shoots and the groups near the base. CUT TO:
MERCUTIO, he storms into the first group of vampires. The vampires are like him unarmed and they all swing at him with their bare fists, as he works himself into the centre of the group, he skilfully manages to dodge them. CUT TO:
DAWN, LUX and KARA, as a group, charge at the for them nearest by group of vampires of seven vampires. DAWN makes first contact, as she pierces her sword through the chest of the vampire at the front. LUX at the same time decapitates one with her axe and KARA skilfully stakes one.
ACT III
30 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 It was good.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Until you came.
BUFFY
Let me guess; my not wanting to die has something to do with it.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 First time you died, you were revived so shortly after your death, that the spirit of the slayer had not yet left your body.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 And as you were alive again, it wouldn't at all anymore.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Meanwhile our spell had already activated the next slayer, but she was powerless without the spirit.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Now you must understand, this vacant space inside her attracts more forcefully then a diamonds to a magpie, or iron to a magnet.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 So forcefully in fact, that it drew the third spirit without its cage and into her.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 The first slayer to carry it, the Jamaican, wore it with great pride and honour, and all went well.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 But then she was killed and the next girl was called, she unfortunately was not strong enough.
BUFFY
Faith.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But there was nothing we could do about it anymore.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 All we could do is hope that you would die soon and we would gain possession of the second spirit again and then at the other slayer's death switch the two again.
BUFFY
And so you did?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 If only we'd have been in the fortunate position to do so.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 See, not only did you die.
BUFFY

(Subt.🙂 You jumped through that portal, the energy was too much"¦

(Subt.🙂 It destroyed the spirit of the slayer.
BUFFY now gets a more serious look on her face.

(Subt.🙂 Being the one highest unoccupied slayer up in the line of slayers, the third spirit passed on to you and left the other slayer powerless. And she now being the highest lured out the first spirit.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Now you had the strongest of the two spirits, which you would be able to control.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 And she the weaker of the two, which she would be able to control.
BUFFY
But hers couldn't be passed on, right?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 So if she would die, the line would continue, but all with powerless slayers.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Until one day would be your end, and then the third spirit would take place in the then current slayer.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 But the trick is"¦ if you kill off the strongest potential candidates for the slayer spirit"¦
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Another evil slayer would rise.
BUFFY

MOTO
(Subt.🙂 He would destroy the slayer-line by having evil-slayers rise.
BUFFY
Couldn't you just have created a new spirit?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Not when there's only the three of us.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Before there was the four of us.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 But the Fourteenth killed Maji.
BUFFY
What I still don't get, why did you offer me more power last year?
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 It wasn't just power, it was power with a will.
BUFFY offended
You wanted to take control, you wanted slayers to lose their free will.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Regrettably it was the only option we saw.
BUFFY
Spare me your nonsense, maybe it was your only option, but don't pretend you would've minded to take control. But enough of this, you still haven't told me what's going on right now.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Your witch friend multiplied the third spirit and divided it over all potentials around the world, even those who can't handle it.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 That is why so many slayers over the past few months have been going insane, evil or whatever you wish to call it.
BUFFY
Yeah yeah sure, just get to what's going on now!
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Hmm, like many slayers you have not been blessed with the virtue of patience"¦ You also might know, that spirit of the slayer contains memories of all the past slayers.
BUFFY
Yes, and?
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 Now somebody has used Orpheus on Kennedy. It's a magical potion that causes her to relive things from her past.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 But with the strong presence of the Fourteenth slayer in her, this caused the Fourteenth to be able to manifest through these memories.
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 It has worked like a magnifying glass, causing her to be able to manifest in the real world through the bodies of the other slayers.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 It won't be long until she'll be able to escape our prison and materialize in the real world, who knows what she could do there with an army of insane Slayers backing her up.
BUFFY looks down, thinking.

(Subt.🙂 Follow us.
They leave through another tunnel and MARGARETH and BUFFY follow them.
CUT TO:
31 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
MERCUTIO is in the middle of a group of unarmed vampires. The vampires try to hit him, but he manages to block them all. But from behind him he gets hit. Fortunately he quickly gets up his feet again, before the others get to him. But another one manages to hit him and as he prepares to get up again another one. More and more vamps start hitting him as we PAN OUT, to reveal a whole clutch of vamps on him. But then, the tower of vamps collapses as a lot of bats fly away from them. They come back together to form MERCUTIO'S body behind the staple. SLOW MOTION: MERCUTIO kicks a wooden barrel, which he's standing close to, he catches one of the pieces of wood and rapidly turns and throws into through the pile of vamps. END SLOW MOTION: The piece of wood leaves the pile, hits the ground and finally falls still. Then we see a few of the vamps in the pile turn to dusts and the pile collapses again, now vamps however are getting off of it. CUT TO:
DAWN, KARA and LUX side by side skilfully staking, slashing and hacking through the charging vampires as more keep on coming, the vampires get dusted like dandelions in the wind. Then the vampires back off and from the middle of the group a BIG VAMPIRE comes up, he has a bare torso with scars on it and he carries a large hammer. CUT TO:
The main entrance, vampires are still coming out from it, but across the yard, about 20 feet away from the door, XANDER is shooting his arrows at them, but finally there's getting too much of them and they manage to spread out. But then from the sky fire balls rapidly fall down on them and they incinerate. WILLOW floats down lower to the ground and floats through the entrance to inside the bunker. XANDER now turns to the group near MERCUTIO and starts aiming at them. CUT TO:
32 INT. CAVE - NIGHT
We're looking at the inside of a large cave, along the side is a path leading up, from which BUFFY, MARGARETH and the SHADOW-MEN descend. At the bottom of the path are two big stones with torch flames on them, the SHADOW-MEN stop right in front of them.
BUFFY
We there yet?
HEWA
(Subt.🙂 Yes, this is the prison, invisible magic walls keep everything within this cave.
MOTO
(Subt.🙂 If you step through these two flames, there will be no way back left.
ARDHI
(Subt.🙂 Good luck!
BUFFY nods and then steps through the two stones. As she does so, the air wrinkles a bit. CUT TO:
33 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY, DAVINO and THE FOURTEENTH are now on the beach and KENNEDY and DAVINO are circling around each other. Then THE FOURTEENTH suddenly looks up estranged.
THE FOURTEENTH
Well well, it's looks as though I have a visitor. I will have to leave you for a bit now. You two just have fun. That means kill him.
Then THE FOURTEENTH fades away. And KENNEDY turns to DAVINO and both prepare for their fight. CUT TO:
34 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
As BUFFY is inspecting the large cave, which seems to be empty, THE FOURTEENTH suddenly materializes right in front of her, just a mere five feet away. BUFFY looks at her, and she looks back.
BUFFY
You want to release my friend and the other slayers?
THE FOURTEENTH gives her an odd look
No.
BUFFY
I was afraid so"¦ no need for any small talk then.
Then right away BUFFY runs toward her, and tries a jump kick, THE FOURTEENTH tries to block, but BUFFY hits her and she falls down, but the attempted block is enough to throw BUFFY of her feet too. Both girls simultaneously get back on their feet. And charge at each other, BUFFY begins trying to punch THE FOURTEENTH, but THE FOURTEENTH dodges, then THE FOURTEENTH attacks with a series of continuous kick, but BUFFY, though with effort, can keep up with blocking. CUT TO:
35 EXT. ABANDONNED MILLITARY BUNKER "“ NIGHT
The vampires are charging at MERCUTIO, one by one. He keeps throwing them off, but then a vampire tackles him. He gets up but the vamp hits him again, MERCUTIO then lifts the vampire and throws him into two other charging vampires. More and more vampires gather around MERCUTIO, the keep trying to hit him, but he manages to dodge or block most. And every now and again he manages to stake one of them with his piece of wood. CUT TO:
36 INT. ABANDONNED MILLITARY BUNKER "“ NIGHT
WILLOW is floating through the hallways of the bunker, from all side-tunnels vampire run at her, but with swift swings she conjures up fire balls and incinerates them easily. CUT TO:
37 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is fighting DAVINO, or beating up would be more accurate. KENNEDY keeps on beating him continuously changing right and left punches. Finally she kicks him in his stomach and he falls down. She takes out her knife and throws herself at him, but he manages to grab her wrists before the knife cuts him, but KENNEDY pushes through and the edge of the knife is now carving a first cut into his skin. But then, he rolls around and kicks her off. He quickly gets up again. She is still laying by the waterline, but gets up again too. CUT TO:
38 EXT. ABANDONNED MILLITARY BUNKER "“ NIGHT
The BIG VAMPIRE is swinging around with his hammer, as KARA, LUX and DAWN run around him in circles trying to avoid getting hit. However the other vampires gathered near them, now start to interfere and one of them manages to grab hold of KARA. He holds her by her waist. She tries to get away from him, but he is stronger, but then she suddenly ducks, as LUX' axe swings through the air, decapitating the vampire. As the arms holding KARA turn to dusts, she swiftly turns around to stake the next vampire coming up behind her. By now they have been surrounded by normal vampires, while DAWN is still "˜dancing' with the BIG VAMPIRE and he has now cornered her. As she is standing on an edge, she looks down at the ground five feet below. Then she turns back to him, he swings his hammer, but she blocks with her sword. He swings again and she tries to block, but her sword gets hit right out of her hands and falls off the edge, then the BIG VAMPIRE prepares for a final strike. CUT TO:
39 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
BUFFY and THE FOURTEENTH are standing across from each other, waiting for a second, then both slayer charge at each other. As BUFFY prepares to swing, THE FOURTEENTH drops herself to the ground and slides through and tackles BUFFY, who falls flat on her face. BUFFY gets back on her feet and wipes the blood of her face. THE FOURTEENTH, however, does not hesitate a moment and charges again right away. BUFFY dodges the first few punches, but the third one hits her right in the face, and she falls down flat on her back. THE FOURTEENTH attempts to jump right on top of her, but BUFFY kicks her off and sends THE FOURTEENTH flying through the air for a few feet. But THE FOURTEENTH quickly recovers and the two girls charge again. Quickly exchanging jabs, they keep on going at each other without there being a clear better party. Until finally THE FOURTEENTH manages to hit BUFFY, which brings BUFFY out of balance. THE FOURTEENTH takes advantage out of this and continues hitting BUFFY, and then finally makes a jump kick, throwing BUFFY down. CUT TO:
MARGARETH and the SHADOW-MEN watching the fight. CUT TO:
THE FOURTEENTH standing over a hurt BUFFY. She grabs BUFFY by her legs and slings her around through the air, BUFFY flies several feet and then crashes into a rock. CUT TO:
40 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE - NIGHT
WILLOW is still floating around through the building, when suddenly in front of her another vampires comes up, she shoots a fire ball at him, but he ducks and she hits some barrels, which explode. CUT TO:
41 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
MERCUTIO fighting with vamps all around him. Then we hear a big bang. MERCUTIO and all the vampires are brought out of balance a bit, and then a vampire strikes and stabs MERCUTIO by his shoulder. MERCUTIO quickly turns around and picks the vampire up he holds him up high in the air and throws him over the edge of the building, where the vampire eventually lands on a branch of a tree and dusts.
ACT IV
42 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
DAWN is balancing on the edge and the BIG VAMPIRE is ready to strike her with his hammer, but there's a WOOSH sound and the BIG VAMPIRE turns to dusts. DAWN turns around to see XANDER with his crossbow has shot him. She quickly rejoins LUX and KARA, who she gets a stake from.
43 INT. CAVE "“ NIGHT
THE FOURTEENTH is standing there looking over BUFFY, who's still laying at the rock she crashed into.
THE FOURTEENTH
Ha, and that claims to be a Slayer"¦ like me?
But finally BUFFY gets up again, she's now really bruised and bleeding.
BUFFY
Well now, I guess you got me. You're right, I'm not a slayer"¦ I am *the* slayer!
THE FOURTEENTH smirks and then kicks up a rocks which flies straight at BUFFY's head. But BUFFY catches it with one hand. And with the same hand she crushes the sand-rock stone. Then she starts walking to straight at THE FOURTEENTH with a firm pace. She is looking more pissed then she has ever looked before. As she reaches THE FOURTEENTH. THE FOURTEENTH tries to hit her, but she easily blocks. THE FOURTEENTH then tries to kick her, but BUFFY grabs her leg and throws her to the ground. As THE FOURTEENTH gets up, BUFFY drags her up and pushes her off. THE FOURTEENTH tries to attack, but again BUFFY blocks her. Now THE FOURTEENTH just circles around BUFFY.
THE FOURTEENTH
What's wrong with you?
BUFFY
Nothing is wrong with me.
BUFFY now starts walking toward THE FOURTEENTH again. A few feet away she stops. Both are standing still, looking straight at each other.
THE FOURTEENTH
You can't defeat me"¦ you are made out of me.
BUFFY
No I'm not"¦ not just you.
Then THE FOURTEENTH realises BUFFY is not looking at her, but something behind her, she steps aside to reveal THE FIRST SLAYER. THE FIRST SLAYER throws BUFFY her stake. BUFFY catches it and in one motion she stabs THE FOURTEENTH in the heart with it. THE FOURTEENTH looks at her in shock and then drops to the ground, dead. CUT TO:
44 EXT. NEW YORK CITY ALLEY "“ NIGHT
The NEW-YORK SLAYER and FAITH, both bleeding are standing across from each other ready to fight again, but then the NEW-YORK SLAYER passes out. CUT TO:
45 INT. WATCHER'S HEADQUARTERS LONDON CONFERENCE ROOM - NIGHT
GILES and a few other WATCHERS are all sitting in a conference room talking, when another WATCHER runs in.
WATCHER
It's over"¦ they're all normal again.
GILES and the others look up relieved. CUT TO:
46 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY and DAVINO are fighting, but by DAVINO's poor blocking of KENNEDY's constant swings, we can see he has tired out. But then all of a sudden, KENNEDY stops, she just stands still, dazed. Then DAVINO hits her full on in her face and she gets knocked down to the ground. CUT TO:
47 EXT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
MERCUTIO, XANDER, KARA, LUX and DAWN are by now fighting together, surrounded by a large group of vampire. They're not doing too good. Then from one side the vampire start to incinerate. The other vampires move away from the bunker entrance. WILLOW has come back from inside and is now standing at the entrance firing fire balls. She then stops as most vampires start backing off. Then the vampires turn to run away from the base, but they stop immediately. CUT TO:
BUFFY with the Scythe standing at the other side of the group of vampires. Then a fireball hits the group. WILLOW has levitated herself above the group again, and now BUFFY is running toward them and starts hacking away with the Scythe. The others start fighting them from the other side. CUT TO:
48 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is down in the sand, but DAVINO kicks her in the stomach. She tries to get up, but he does it again, then he picks her up and hits her in the face. She falls down again, but he doesn't quit. He drags her up by her hair and starts hitting her in the stomach, after a few blows he plants his knees in her stomach and she falls down again. CUT TO:
49 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE CORRIDOR "“ NIGHT
The Scoobies are rushing through the corridors, WILLOW leading, followed by BUFFY and then the others. CUT TO:
50 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
CERRETO and DOCTOR MATTHEWS standing by DAVINO and KENNEDY. KENNEDY is getting cut and bruised as the watch over them. CERRETO is smirking, but then suddenly, his smirk faints and he holds his head a bit diagonal as if he's listening to something. CUT TO:
51 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is on the ground and DAVINO walks over to her. He picks her up and holds her up high, then he hits her again. She flies through the air and then lands in the water. KENNEDY tries to get up, but can't. DAVINO is walking toward her. CUT TO:
52 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
The Scoobies have now reached a dead end, all there's left is one door. BUFFY nods at WILLOW. CUT TO:
53 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
A room. ANGLE ON: The door, it gets kicked in, the Scoobies walk in. PAN AROUND: To see CERRETO holding KENNEDY's unconscious body with a gun to her head. DOCTOR MATTHEWS is nervously standing by his table and DAVINO is still in his chair.
CERRETO
I wouldn't recommend you to come any closer.
BUFFY
I don't know who you are pal, but you'd best give her up.
WILLOW
Game's over, we killed all your vampires.
CERRETO
See, that's the good thing about vampires, you can always get yourself some new ones"¦ Now move away from the door and let me through.
BUFFY
How about a no.
CERRETO wiggles the gun he still is holding to KENNEDY's head.
CERRETO
Else, she dies.
CUT TO:
54 EXT. EDMONSVILLE BEACH "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY laying in the water, unable to get up, and DAVINO walking toward her. When he is very near to her, KENNEDY splashes the salt sea water into his face. He takes a step back and tries to wipe the water out of his eyes, but KENNEDY has already jumped up and with one firm swing cuts his throat. CUT TO:
55 INT. ABANDONNED MILITARY BASE "“ NIGHT
As the Scoobies, CERRETO and DOCTOR MATTHEWS stand by, DAVINO's throat gets slit by an invisible force. Momentarily KENNEDY opens her eyes and gasps for air. She pulls away from CERRETO and as he falls backwards he fires a shot at KENNEDY and hits her in the back. WILLOW instantly shoot a fireball, which knocks him off his feet and throws him into the far side wall, where he burns alive. BUFFY has caught KENNEDY. WILLOW turns around to them, worried.
BUFFY
We'd better hurry to the hospital.
CUT TO:
56 INT. HOSPITAL ROOM "“ NIGHT
KENNEDY is laying in the hospital bed, she's conscious, WILLOW is sitting next to her, holding her hand. LUX, KARA and DAWN are standing by the window. MERCUTIO, XANDER and BUFFY are standing at the end of her bed. All of them are pretty beaten up. All have cuts and bruises.
DAWN
And so we beat the baddie again"¦ I guess things are back to normal?
They all look at BUFFY.
BUFFY
Yeah, they are"¦ I just hope you heal quickly, but I guess you will"¦ comes with the slayer package.
Now all eyes are on KENNEDY
KENNEDY
Yeah, I still feel a little weird though"¦ but I'll live.
She turns to WILLOW.
So, when did the Doctor say he'd have the results.
WILLOW looks at her watch.
WILLOW
Patience. Any minute now"¦ So, what do you all think; the newbies did great, didn't they?
LUX and KARA look up full of pride.
XANDER
They did great"¦ so did the old guy.
MERCUTIO clears his throat.
XANDER
Well, not really old-old"¦ just older then us.
The DOCTOR enters. All look at him in anticipation.
DOCTOR
Goodnight all of you. I uhm, have the results here. Good news is, no vitals organs were hit, so you're not in danger, you'll live.
Everybody looks up happy. But the DOCTOR now looks at them very serious.
DOCTOR
However, there was some serious injury to your spine, and I am truly sorry there isn't anything we can do about it, but as a result of which"¦ you will never be able to walk again.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen.
That's it. Our season 8 ends here. Will ours be, just like with Angel, the last season? I hope not, but there's always the posibility as we've experienced severe staff-problems. (As in, we have too little people, who want to do this kind of work.) So right now, we're contemplating our next move. Hopefuly we will get to make another 10-episode season during the summer. Of which show we honestly don't know yet; Buffy or Angel, both we think deserve another round... it'll all depend on if and how we can get together a staff. So for now, we will leave you with the knowledge, that whatever happens, the Buffyverse always lives on... in our hearts.
