VirtualSlayer.tk's Angel 6.01 "Not Fade Away" Part II

Okay, so a little acknowledgement beforehand. This script is part of the VirtualSlayer.tk virtual continuations project, which features Angel s6, Buffy s8, and Buffy s9. The following script can also be found on our website, where you can also find general info about our shows as well as previous episoes (Bs8.) The script is not just a follow-up of the Angel finale, but also a way to continue the story, so don't expect the second hour of a two-parter finale here, but a season opener... well, having said that... let's get on with the fun!

BTW: Seeing as how I can't get onto my FTP server, BB is going to have to have the exclusive premiere.

The indicator shows us that the elevator is rising. When the
indicator reaches our level it stops. The bell rings with a

You accidentally blew up the car?

Angel turns around to us in his big chair, and looks up
surprised at the person standing before him.

ACT I

FADE IN:

INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY

Buffy is standing in front of Angel's desk. Angel is of
course surprised at her being there. He stands up.

ANGEL
Buffy? You-you're here? ... In my
office?

BUFFY
Yes, I am. I was in town, so I
thought, this would be a good time
to catch up.

ANGEL
I just, didn't expect... I thought
you-

Spike comes barging in.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
Spike?

Buffy turns around.

SPIKE
Buffy?

BUFFY
Spike?

Buffy walks a little closer to Spike, as if she were checking
to see if he was really there. Meanwhile, Angel walks around
his desk to join them.

ANGEL
Right uhm. Buffy this is Spike,
Spike this is... awkward.

BUFFY
Maybe either one of you could
explain what he's doing here...
alive?

SPIKE
Undead actually. And erm, maybe you
could start off what you're doing
in my town?
(Angel clears his throat.)
'Our' town!
(Angel sighs)
I though you hated him...
(Angel clears his throat
again, but now Spike
turns to him.)
Well, she didn't hate 'us' that's
for sure; she didn't even know I
was alive.

ANGEL
She would've hated you if she knew.

BUFFY
Guys! ... I don't hate either of
you.

ANGEL
(Suprised, but relieved.)
You don't?

SPIKE
Off course she doesn't... not me
anyway.

ANGEL
But what about Andrew?

BUFFY
Well, I hate him, and Giles...
mostly Giles.

Angel and Spike give her a look. At which she sits down on
the chair by the window. Angel sits down on the edge of his
desk and Spike in the chair opposite Buffy.

BUFFY (CONT'D)
He used me... to get to you.
(Aside to Spike.)
Not you Spike, he didn't know.
Everything Andrew said came from
Giles, not me. I quit slaying after
all the others were called and
Giles figured that, since I wasn't
'in the game' anymore, he might as
well make up stuff about me, to
lure you away from Wolfram & Hart.

ANGEL
So, you weren't worried about us
making a pact with the devil at
all?

BUFFY
In a way I was, but I just had a
little more faith in you then Giles
did.

ANGEL
So, you're not roomies with Andrew
either?

BUFFY
Nope.
(Spike and Angel are
visibly relieved.)
He's up in Italy isn't he? I'm
still California-bound.

SPIKE
What do you mean? Y-You still live
here?

BUFFY
Yes! Well, not here-here, but this
little town down the coast:
Edmonsville. It's nice.

SPIKE
And when where you planning on
telling us?

BUFFY
Right about when you decided to
tell me you were alive. Which
brings us to the next point...

Spike turns away, a tad embarrassed.

SPIKE
Well, you see. First of all, I was
brought back incorporeal and bound
to this darn place.
Whenever I got too far away from
it, I just got pulled back.

ANGEL
The only bad thing about Casper.

SPIKE
Then, I got all corporeal again,
but you know L.A.; it was all work
and no fun.

ANGEL
He didn't dare.

Spike casts him an evil eye.

SPIKE
That's not it, it was just... I
don't know... awkward?! And then
came Andrew telling me how evil
Angel and his were... and erm, so I
figured I should stay here to keep
an eye on him. Keep him from doing
stupid things, well more stupid
things.

ANGEL
(Mockingly)
He ended up joining us.

SPIKE
In a very simplified version. If
only you'd allow me to elaborate a
little. That's not too much to ask
for.

ANGEL
Be my guest.

SPIKE
Well then, maybe I could tell Buffy
about some of our new friends?

ANGEL
Anne?

SPIKE
Nina.

Angel looks at Spike, angry.

BUFFY
Who's Nina?

ANGEL
She's uhm... nobody, really.

Buffy gives him a suspicious look, then turns to Spike.

BUFFY
Spike?

SPIKE
His girlfriend!

Angel casts him an evil eye.

ANGEL
I was gonna t-

BUFFY
You have... a girlfriend?

ANGEL
She's not really a girlfriend-
girlfriend. More like...

SPIKE
A girlfriend.

ANGEL
(looking rather
embarrassed)
Exactly.

BUFFY
Oh, that is so cute... Do you have
a picture?

ANGEL
Not with me, I think I may have one
upstairs in ou-... I'm not much of
a picture guy.

SPIKE
You're not much of a romantic guy
in any way... he tried to send her
on a plane to some godforsaken
island.

ANGEL
What's with this negative attitude,
Spike? You wouldn't be jealous now,
would you?... Maybe that would be
because you're whole romantic life
last year consisted of banging my
secretary.
(to Buffy)
Which just so happened to be
Harmony.

Buffy laughs.

SPIKE
Hey, just because you send her to
the island and you hate that you
did so, doesn't mean you have to
blame me for it.

ANGEL
Well, it doesn't matter; she's back
now and I've made it up to her...
Harmony on the other hand: I think
we've seen the last of her; she
wouldn't be stupid enough to ret-

A beat.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
Never mind, she would.

BUFFY
Enough about Harm, already. You're
not working for Wolfram & Hart
anymore, are you?

ANGEL
No, we dealt with them a while
back.

BUFFY
So I heard. Legions from hell,
dragons? A tale I'm all too
familiar with. So, you beat them,
then?

ANGEL
Not really. I mean they're gone and
we're still here. But saying we
beat them is too much.

SPIKE
Oh, enough with the modesty; we
rocked.

FADE TO:

INT. HOSPITAL EMERGENCY POST - NIGHT

CAPTION
Several Months Earlier

A pretty-badly beaten up Angel, Spike and Gunn enter the
hospital. Spike is supporting Gunn. They all looks pretty sad
and defeated. Immediately, a NURSE rushes to their aid.

NURSE
Oh my... you look terrible, what
happened?

ANGEL
Long story. Too long, he kinda
needs a doctor right now.

NURSE
He's not the only one... I'll get
right on that.

FADE TO BLACK.

ACT II

FADE IN:

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - NIGHT (CONT'D)

Gunn is in a hospital bed. He's hooked-up to some machines,
but he's alive. He has bandages around his head. Angel and
Spike enter the room. Angel has some bandages around his
arms. Spike some around his waist. He has his shirt,
unbuttoned, over it.

ANGEL
Hi, though guy. How are you holding
up?

Gunn smiles faintly.

GUNN
I'm gonna be okay. It was pretty
close, but a cool cat like me
doesn't have nine lives for
nothing.

They all smile. Then the same nurse from before enters.

NURSE
Well now, that must feel a bit
better.

Politely they nod, as she checks Gunn's vitals on a machine.

NURSE (CONT'D)
There's a man in the lobby, wanting
to see you. I told him I wouldn't
allow it. You really ought to get
some rest. Then he started
complaining about that he was
fading, upon which I suggested he
see a doctor, but he insisted I
should ask you whether he could
come in.
(The nurse walks over to
the door.)
I'll send him away, alright?

ANGEL
No, send him in.

NURSE
Well... alright.

The nurse walks away, while shaking her head. Angel, Spike,
and Gunn's eyes are all fixed upon the door. After a long
moment of silence, it finally opens. At it is HOLLAND
MANNERS. Angel and Gunn are on alert right away.

ANGEL
Holland?

HOLLAND MANNERS
Reanimated for the last time I
fear.

Holland walks over to the bed, and hands over a set of keys
to Angel.

HOLLAND MANNERS (CONT'D)
Take them, they're yours after
all... For real, this time.
(Angel suspiciously
accepts.)
I always kept a spare-set, thinking
one day the Partners might decide
to bring me back, but that won't be
happening now.

ANGEL
Why don't you tell me what the deal
is with you being here?

HOLLAND MANNERS
Congratulating you, actually. So:
congratulations!
(to Spike and Gunn)
You two as well.

ANGEL
I'm serious. Wolfram and Hart
doesn't send its pion over just to
say congrats. Remember the last
time they supposedly did that, for
example.

HOLLAND MANNERS
Oh, but this time, you'll find, is
special. This time you've beaten
us... or them to be more specific.
My contract is limited to this
plane of existence and since you
destroyed all their forces within
it. Well, my contract ends.
So, consider this little visitation
a personal favor, rather then a
business meeting.

ANGEL
You're serious about this?

HOLLAND MANNERS
Dead serious. As dead as I am, in
fact.

SPIKE
We killed them?

HOLLAND MANNERS
No, the partners are still alive
and well, rest assured. But
whatever power they had in this
plane is gone.

GUNN
What happens next then?

HOLLAND MANNERS
I'm sorry, but I don't know. And
frankly, it's not my business to
know anymore. I would imagine the
Partners might decide to forget
about this plane for a couple of
millennia. After that, who knows.
All of the Wolfram and Hart law
firm here on earth will be or, I
imagine, already has been
disbanded. In short; the war's over
gentlemen and you've won.

Holland starts moving to the door.

ANGEL
Hold up, I thought you said the war
was never over?

HOLLAND MANNERS
You paid attention well. It never
really is over, that much is true.
The war on Wolfram & Hart in this
place is over for a good amount of
time, but there are still plenty of
other manifestations of your enemy
left to battle, I am sure. Now, if
you'll excuse me, I have eternal
torment waiting for me in hell. And
you know what they say; never be
later on your first date with the
devil!

Then Holland exits. Spike sits down in the chair next to the
bed.

SPIKE
Now what?

ANGEL
I don't know.

GUNN
I know...
(The look at him in
anticipation.)
We sleep.

Then he flips the switch of the lights.

FADE TO:

INT. WOLFRAM & HART MAIN HALL - DAY

Angel enters with a grocery bag and a coffee-cup in one hand,
and two more cups in the other, enters the hall; he hands
Spike over a cup and Gunn over the other one. They're sitting
on the staircase. Around them is a lot of debris and some
shattered glass. Angel stays standing in front of them.

ANGEL
(Sigh)
What mess did we get ourselves in
this time, ey?

SPIKE
You can ask that again.

Spike sips from his.

SPIKE (CONT'D)
Thanks mate, excellent blood.

Gunn sniffs his cup then hands it over to Angel, and takes
Angel's cup.

ANGEL
Sorry.

GUNN
That's okay. I just could use
coffee right now, more than I do
blood.

SPIKE
You did get a transfusion last
night, you know. Looked like good
blood to me.

GUNN
What?

SPIKE
(Embarrassed)
Erm, my question exactly; what...
are we gonna do next?

Gunn and Spike both turn to Angel.

ANGEL
What are you looking at me for?

GUNN
Last time I checked you were CEO.

ANGEL
Of a law firm we destroyed last
night.

GUNN
C'mon... you've always been the
leader.

SPIKE
Your leader maybe.

Angel disregards this last comment.

ANGEL
Alright, but even then; what is
there left for us to do? We rid
this city of its biggest source of
evil. Possibly even the planet.

SPIKE
No, not the planet, that I did last
year. I suggest we hit the road,
look for danger elsewhere!

GUNN
And what about L.A., you think all
the other baddies are going to stay
clear of this place?

ANGEL
(thinking for a second)
Yes, they'll stay clear.

Gunn and Spike give him an odd look.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
We'll make sure of that. Gunn's
right, we can't leave. It's
something Illyria said.
This is my "kingdom" now as she put
it and as long as it stays this
way, things'll be good.

GUNN
How do we run the city with just
the three of us?

ANGEL
We need more people, true.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
We already got our headquarters...
Right? Gunn, now that the Partners
are gone, who does this building
belong to?

GUNN
Well, I'd have to look in on how
American law handles cases like
this, but demon laws says this is
all yours.

ANGEL
The weapons?

Gunn nods.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
The books?

Gunn nods.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
The funds?

Gunn nods.

SPIKE
The cars?

Angel sighs and shakes his head.

GUNN
All of it.

ANGEL
So, all we have to do is change the
name of the sign in front of the
building from Wolfram and Hart into
Angel Investigations.

GUNN
Sounds about right.

SPIKE
We'll have to talk about that name
though.

Suddenly, the elevator doors open and we once again hear that
familiar TING-sound. Angel walks over to check, but it's
empty.

ANGEL
(Suspicious.)
Hmm, what's this then?

SPIKE
A bloody freakshow, that's what it
is.

GUNN
Well, whatever it is, I wanna find
out.

Gunn gets up, Spike quickly follows him and they step forward
to the elevator, but Angel stops them.

ANGEL
Whoa, let's think about this for a
second.

GUNN
What's the worst that could happen
in the elevator, get stuck?

SPIKE
Hey mate, I got stuck there once,
it wasn't pretty.

GUNN
I mean anything serious?

ANGEL
Well, you've probably never read
Charlie and the Great Glass
Elevator, have you?

SPIKE
That's it, I'm going.

Spike steps in, then Gunn shrugs and gets in too, and finally
Angel takes a deep breath and as soon as he's in the
elevator's doors close.

INT. ELEVATOR - DAY (CONT'D)

The elevator immediately starts moving very fast, and
trembling a bit. Then there's a blinding white flash before
their eyes.

INT. WHITE ROOM - DAY (CONT'D)

The elevator has brought them to the White Room. They take a
few steps into it, all looking kinda suspicious and then the
camera turns so we can see what the gang is seeing: there's
white office chair placed in the middle of the room and we
hear a man humming some old song. The chair turns and we see
who's in it.

HAMILTON
(Grinning.)
Hi guys, miss me?

SPIKE
Bloody hell!

HAMILTON
That was my other choice, but you
see this chair is ever so
comfortable. I just couldn't
resist.

ANGEL
Last time I checked you were dead,
well... really dead.

HAMILTON
Yeah, and last time I checked, you
were all ready to die for the right
cause on your nice little pathetic
suicide-mission to stop Wolfram &
Hart.

ANGEL
We won, didn't we?

HAMILTON
Oh, did you now? Is that really so?
Is all evil eradicated?

ANGEL
Evil is everywhere, but the main
thing causing it is out of the loop
for now.

HAMILTON
Ah yes, you did such a bang up job,
really congrats.

ANGEL
So, tell me, why are you here?

HAMILTON
Oh, didn't you know? I figured you
might guess, although you're not
all that bright, off course.
Anyway, I came to help you, believe
it or not. I'm here to do your
bidding... and that of your
friends.

SPIKE
Hey, not a friend, I just help the
bastard.

ANGEL
(Annoyed.)
Just cut to the chase, alright? I'm
not buying this.

HAMILTON
Well, it's this simple: you stopped
the most evil corporation mankind
has known on this plane of
existence. Now, the Powers that Be,
wanna thank you; ain't that grand?
So, they figured you'd need a new
link and since I owed them some;
here I am, contractually obligated
to aid you the next 574 years...
and don't worry, I don't have the
visions, I didn't kiss your girl,
the previous one, that is. They
have their people. Must say, I'm
quite relieved; inserting visions
can lead to hell on earth... ugly
maggot ebony things, you know?

GUNN
You want an ebony maggot in your
face, James Bond?

HAMILTON
Oh let's not get angry at one
another Mr. Gunn. I'm only here to
help.

ANGEL
Now, why would I find that hard to
believe?

HAMILTON
I don't know, I thought that evil
seeking for redemption was always
right up your alley. Anyway, how
about a gift, as a token of my
sincerity?

Hamilton snaps with his fingers and suddenly a big boulder
with a dagger in it appears, fading out of nowhere. Angel,
looking curious, approaches it as Hamilton speaks to him.

HAMILTON (CONT'D)
It's the Fallen artifact of Rash Ma
Heln, which can help you in your
quest. Well erm, it's just good for
killing if you ask me.

ANGEL
You are giving me something that's
good for killing?

HAMILTON
I told you I was sincere...

They gang gives him a suspicious look.

HAMILTON (CONT'D)
Okay, the Powers made me give this
to you. I thought it was a bit
much, but they're quite stubborn.
Either way, you're just gonna have
to learn to trust me. I'm your
closest link to a vision and the
Powers and there are a lot of
people out there, who need your
help. So, if I were you: I'd get
started.

FADE TO BLACK.

ACT III

FADE IN:

INT. AI OFFICE HALL - DAY

Construction workers are walking to and fro, carrying tools
as well as materials. Carpenters are working on repairing the
woodwork, while window repairmen are in Angel's office
putting in new windows. Gunn, still with bandages, of course,
is talking to one of the constructors. Angel just steps out
of the elevator. Gunn breaks off his conversation with the
constructor and walks up to Angel.

ANGEL
Wow, I see didn't expect them to
start today?

GUNN
Well, we had to pay them a whole
lot, but I reckon it's better to
get back onto our feet ASAP... If
they keep tight to schedule, we
should be able to open this place
up within a week. But it will take
a while longer before the labs are
back up. Structural damage to the
building isn't pretty.

ANGEL
Oh, that's okay... So, you have any
idea where Spike is?

GUNN
Don't have a clue, he said he was
going out to round about some
people.

ANGEL
At this time of day?

Angel turns to look at his office, which is brightly lit by
sunlight.

GUNN
Beats me. I'll be off too, I'm
gonna visit my old gang and Anne to
talk about working together.

ANGEL
Yeah sure, fine! I'm going go...
(Casts an eye on his
office, of which the
window still have to be
replaced.)
Upstairs, see if I can do... erm, I
s'pose I'll figure out what I can
do when I get there.

FADE TO:

INT. BAR - DAY

The bar is very dark, all sorts of demons and other people,
who look like they have questionable motives for being there,
hang around in the dim lit old cafe. The door opens and rays
of light fall in. The demons boo the man entering. PAN LEFT,
there's another entrance. Above it a sign says sewer
entrance. Spike comes climbing up the stairs into the bar
from this entrance. He walks over to the bar and sits down
next to some dirty looking demon, EUGIE, with pointy ears,
dark long hair and a ring beard.

SPIKE
I'll have Scotch please.

Eugie turns to Spike.

EUGIE
Well well, look who we have here.
Spike, my man, how long it has
been.

EUGIE hugs SPIKE.

EUGIE (CONT'D)
Look at you man, you're looking
great!
(to the bartender)
Put the drink on my tab.
(back to Spike)
My man, it has been too long. When
was it? Woodstock in the sixties,
how've you been?

SPIKE
Well I've... changed.

EUGIE
Nonsense, I'm sure you're just as
bloody as ever! So, are you going
to stay in town for the fun as
well? I sure am glad that those
lawyer's are gone. Before you would
only matter if you had money, the
smaller guys didn't really matter
to them, you know? But you know
what, times have changed. I'm gonna
try to get me my own fair share of
L.A.'s ground. For satan's sake,
this place is the only town which
isn't crawling with those nasty
Slayers. I won't ask for much you
know, I don't want to own a whole
block. Just my own little butcher's
shop, always has been a dream of
mine. So, what have you been up to?

SPIKE
Got myself a soul, closed the
hellmouth in Sunnydale, and
yesterday, helped defeat Wolfram
and Hart.

Eugie picks up Spike's glass and empties it.

EUGIE
Was on my tab anyway!

Then he walks away. Spike turns to the BARTENDER.

SPIKE
I'll have another one of these.
It's amazing, you know? How much
some people can complain about the
little details.

BARTENDER
Yeah... sure.

And the bartender pours him another.

EXT. SHELTER - DAY

At one of her shelters, ANNE, with many other volunteers, is
collecting shattered pieces of glass. When she sees Gunn with
his suitcase approaching she looks up a bit estrange, but
then puts the glass down and walk to him

ANNE
Charles?

GUNN
Annie.

They hug, when Anne's ready to let go, Gunn still holds on.
His eyes are a bit teary, but he then lets go too.

ANNE
You okay?

GUNN
Erm yeah.
(Sniffs, then wipes his
eyes, and smiles.)
I, erm, well when I came here
yesterday, I didn't think I'd ever
be coming back.

They sit down on a bench and Anne rubs his back gently.

ANNE
Well, you're here now, that's all I
need to know. So, I'm guessing the
whole glass-act was part of your
apocalypse?

GUNN
It could be.

ANNE
Five mile radius; I suggest you
play dumb.

GUNN
No wonder it was so hard to find a
window-fixer.

ANNE
So, are you going to tell me what
went down?

GUNN
Will give you a blow-by-blow
another time. It sums up as us
removing Wolfram & Hart from this
plane of existence and taking over
all of its resources here in LA.

ANNE
(Surprised.)
Wow. That's pretty big indeed.

GUNN
And, with those resource, the
financial ones, that is, we want to
buy the shelters.

He opens up his suitcase and hands her a thick file.

ANNE
Oh Charles, we couldn't.

GUNN
We would double the budgets on the
shelters you have right now,
allowing you to finally hire
psychiatrists, notice the plural
there, full-time. Furthermore, we
would want to built at least two
more South of here, where I know
they're needed. And any more if
they prove to be needed... We want
you to run our Charity department
at Angel Investigations.

Anne's mouth has fallen open and she's speechless. Then
suddenly, she starts jumping up and down.

ANNE
(Shrieking.)
Ahhh!

Gunn gets up too.

ANNE (CONT'D)
Oh, I love you...
(Kisses Gunn in a friendly
manner, then starts
shrieking again.)

Gunn smiles, as Anne gets a hold of herself.

GUNN
Look, I'll leave the file here with
you. Contact details are in there
too. Now, I have another stop to
make at Venice boulevard.

CUT TO:

INT. ANGEL'S PENTHOUSE - DAY

Angel is up at his penthouse; the curtains are closed to
protect him from the sunlight, cause his windows are broken.
He's working from a desk there on his laptop. Suddenly,
there's a knock at the door. Angel looks up, surprised.

ANGEL
Come in?

The door slowly opens. It's NINA. Angel gets up; he's quite
perplexed she's there.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
Nina? But you're... on a tropical
island?

NINA
You actually checked whether I got
on the plane?

Angel looks down, embarrassed.

NINA (CONT'D)
I figured you would. My sister's
met this really nice guy, and I
thought it'd be a wonderful
surprise, if I gave my ticket to
him. I just escorted them to the
airport to confuse your guy.

ANGEL
Oh, erm... well, I'm sorry.

NINA
Don't be. I am sorry... When you
told me to leave, and you said we'd
have time, I knew you were lying. I
just figured... I figured you
didn't want to be with me.

ANGEL
I wanted to tell you that wasn't
it, but I didn't want to tell you
why and I was too relieved you'd
get to safety.

NINA
I know. You did want to be with me,
you just knew we wouldn't have
time, because... you were convinced
you wouldn't make it out alive.

Angel sighs.

NINA (CONT'D)
God. I was stupid. I should've just
trusted you, blindly. Instead, I
ran to Spike, asked him what was
up.

ANGEL
You asked Spike?... He never told
me.

NINA
Of course, he didn't. He knew how
bad you'd feel if you knew I was
still around, and he knew I
wouldn't leave. When the world
comes to an end, I want to be there
with you. Doesn't matter whether
you'll live or die. Hell, you're a
vampire, I love you even though
you're not alive, anyway.

Angel smiles at this.

ANGEL
I can't offer an end of the world
anytime soon...

NINA
That's okay. The window-fixers
probably don't have time for
another one for a while, anyway.

She walks over to the curtains and takes a look at the glass
shattered on the floor. Angel walks up behind her and puts
his arms around her and kisses her on her head.

ANGEL
You know, once those windows-fixers
are done with the aftermath of this
one, I could offer you the keys to
a certain penthouse.

Nina turns to him, surprised. Angel smiles and in response,
so does she, and they kiss.

CUT TO:

EXT. VENICE BEACH - DAY

Gunn is walking along the boulevard looking at the houses
there. At one of them, he stops and he looks up at it. He
takes a deep breath and then walks over to it and knocks on
the door.

FADE TO:

INT. VENICE BEACH HUNTERS HQ - DAY

In the upstairs bedroom of the run-down beach condo, four
African American men are sharpening stakes and fixing
crossbows. A fifth man enters.

MAN
Yo, Curtis. There's a brother in a
suit downstairs; says he wants to
talk to our leader. He's all
wrapped up in bandages, wann' me to
send him up or off?

CURTIS
Send him up, we'll see what he
wants.

The man leaves. There's some stumbling on the stairs, and
Gunn enters. The other three hunters hold their weapons
tightly as Curtis gets up.

CURTIS (CONT'D)
Yo, what's a suit like you doing
here? Identify yoself!

Gunn sticks out his hand, which Curtis accepts, and he (for
them unexpectedly) proceeds with their signature handshake.

GUNN
Charles Gunn... You the new leader?
Where's Rondell.

The rooms falls silent.

CURTIS
Rondell's dead, 4 months ago... So,
the infamous Charles Gunn returns.
I don't know if I should thow you a
party or beat yo ass down.

GUNN
After you hear what I have to
offer, I think the former will do.

CURTIS
Go on then, speak!

GUNN
I want you to come work for us.

The other guys begin to laugh, while Curtis grins.

CURTIS
We work for no one; we work for the
streets. Certainly not for a friend
of two bloodsuckers.

Gunn puts his suitcase down and retrieves another file, which
he hands over to Curtis.

GUNN
You'll become a separate
organisation acting under the Angel
Investigations umbrella. All you're
crew members will get pay, health
insurance, pension, you know the
drill. Plus, we'll give you a
budget for weapons.

Curtis throws the file on floor.

CURTIS
Two bloodsuckers.

GUNN
Both with a soul. If you do
research, do it properly. Two
bloodsuckers, who also got rid of
Wolfram & Hart. To make sure, that
no one group can get as powerful as
them again, we need all the good
guys to work together.

Curtis thinks it over for a second.

GUNN (CONT'D)
All the info is in there, talk to
the others. I'm sure you'll let us
know, when you've reached a
decision.

Then Gunn walks to the door, but one of the hunters stops
him.

HUNTER
Hey, how much is that salary?

Gunn laughs, while Curtis gives the hunter a smack on the
head.

FADE TO:

INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY

Angel, Buffy, and Spike are still sitting in his office.

BUFFY
So, you got a pretty impressive
organisation together.

ANGEL
We like to think so, yes.

BUFFY
But you still didn't tell me
exactly how you beat them?

SPIKE
He's been saving the best part for
last.

FADE TO BLACK.

ACT IV

FADE IN:

EXT. ALLEY BEHIND THE HYPERION - NIGHT

Angel, Spike, GUNN and ILLYRIA are standing in the alley in
readiness to clash with the charging DEMONS.

ANGEL
(steps forward)
Well, personally, I kind of want to
slay the dragon. Let's go to work.

Angel steps forward and raises his sword.

ILLYRIA
No!

Everybody turns to her.

ILLYRIA (CONT'D)
We shall not have any of this. I
cannot let you do this. Everything
is clear now. It took a legion of a
thousand to open my eyes, but I see
it now. You must trust me. We need
to get back to the office.

SPIKE
Are you cra-

ILLYRIA
No time. Come with me!

Illyria starts walking away. Angel and Spike lift up Gunn and
run after Illyria.

ANGEL
Explain on the way over.

As Spike supports Gunn on his own, Angel opens his viper,
which is conveniently parked around the corner at the other
end of the alley. As soon as he gets in, the first of the
demons reaches the end of the alley, and quickly the others
jump in. As soon as Spike's door is closed an arrow hits it.
Angel puts the pedal to the metal and they speed off,
followed by the demon army.

EXTREME LONG SHOT

Angel and his race away in the car, just in time. The DRAGON
flies straight above them and follows the car closely.

FADE TO:

INT. WOLFRAM & HART OFFICE - NIGHT

Angel, Spike, Gunn and Illyria bust into the office, which is
half destroyed.

ANGEL
Spike, barricade the doors. Gunn,
you go down to the labs, find it;
it has to be there somewhere... Oh,
and patch yourself up a little if
you can.
(To Illyria)
You, in my office, right now.

FADE TO:

INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - NIGHT

Angel is sitting on the edge of his desk and Illyria is
standing in front of him.

ANGEL
Are you sure you'll have enough
strength to pull it off... the
inverted vortex, is that what I
should call it?

ILLYRIA
It's in the game, not the name, I
believe is what some of your people
would say. And yes, I'm sure. I
have not been more sure of anything
until this very moment. Don't
question my judgement.

ANGEL
I just don't understand all of
this... you're changing.

ILLYRIA
What is there not to understand? I
returned as prophesied. My return
served the sole purpose of removing
that which is not pure from this
earth.

ANGEL
Yes, but with your army... and you
were going to wipe us out.

ILLYRIA
Insects you are, true. But I did
not come to wipe you out. I just
didn't realise that before, with
all your killings and wars, I
mistook you for the evil ones. As
did I not realize, that my army of
before is not here anymore. You
have replaced my army, the
champions. I did not see it before,
I regret that. It could have saved
Wesley.

There's a loud BANG and the building trembles. Then Spike
comes charging in.

SPIKE
This building is now officially
being body-slammed by a dragon; I
thought you'd like to know. Just
make sure you're ready.

Then Spike exits and Illyria and Angel once more face only
each other.

ILLYRIA
My time has come and gone. Death is
my gift to you. I leave you with
this kingdom, take good care of it.

Then Illyria exits too and Angel just stares out of the
window for a while, then follows her.

CUT TO:

INT. WOLFRAM & HART OFFICE HALL - NIGHT

Spike and Illyria are standing there in silence. Spike
holding an axe. Then Gunn comes back from the labs carrying
the gun they used to suck up Illyria's powers in 5.18 "Time
Bomb". Then Angel joins them, he's carrying a sword.

ANGEL
Alright, you ready?

GUNN
Never.

SPIKE
Amen to that.

They look at Illyria.

ILLYRIA
(Scoffing.)
Those silly words proclaiming
readiness will not make a
difference.

SPIKE
That's my girl.

ILLYRIA
But, yes I am.

Then they turn around to the elevator and enter it. They turn
to us one last time and then the doors close.

CUT TO:

EXT. WOLFRAM & HART OFFICE BUILDINGS - NIGHT

The demon soldiers are hacking with their axes and swords at
the door, which seems to be about to subside. Then with a
loud CRACK, it swings open and Angel and Spike storm out
charging at the demons. Angel and Spike hack and slash right
through the first lines of demons. As Spike moves more to the
right and Angel to the left, Illyria comes up from the
middle, she's fighting the demons off bare handed, Gunn
follows her closely carrying the special gun and using a
handgun to keep the demons from getting to him. Slowly, but
surely, they all fight deeper into the demon army.

ZOOM OUT.

CUE: Gary Jules - Mad World. The sound of the fighting slowly
fades away. We get to see the rest of the demon army swarming
around our heroes, thousands and thousands.

FADE TO:

EXT. L.A. STREET - NIGHT

We still can't hear the fighting. Spike is hacking his axe
through the deformed bodies of the demon soldiers.

FADE TO:

EXT. L.A. STREET - NIGHT

Angel is slashing with his sword attacking larger hound-like
demons.

FADE TO:

EXT. L.A. STREET - NIGHT

Illyria fighting, smashing demon skulls with her bare hands.
Gunn behind her trying to keep up shooting at the demons.
Then Illyria stops and from the sides Angel and Spike join
them. Illyria, Spike and Angel circle around and fight off
the demons.

ANGLE ON GUNN.

He's in the middle of them on the street, pulling some
switches on the gun. The gun beings to glow softly and
getting brighter. Gunn points it at Illyria, then a beam of
light hits her. Gunn puts the gun down to the ground. The
light keeps flowing to Illyria, who now has stopped fighting.
Gunn now takes her place in fighting off the demons. Then the
flow of light from the gun stops, but Illyria doesn't stop
glowing. Angel looks at Spike and Gunn and nods.

ZOOM OUT.

Angel, Gunn and Spike try to fight their way out of the army,
as Illyria is lighting up brighter and brighter, but no such
luck, we can see there are still thousands of demons around
the three of them.

ANGLE ON ANGEL AND HIS FROM THE GROUND.

Angel and Spike fighting with the demons. Gunn in between
them struggling for survival. In the background, we can see
Illyria (as a small source of light) rising up from the
ground, levitating in mid-air. Most demons now face her,
Angel and his cast and eye too, but then get back to fighting
right away. They fight even more violently and try even
harder to get away, but the demons are tough.

CUT TO:

EXT. AIR ABOVE THE STREET - NIGHT

EXTREMELY CLOSE-UP OF ILLYRIA'S EYES.

Illyria is trembling slightly. Suddenly, a small crack
appears on her face, it's emitting bright blue light and is
growing slowly. We slowly ZOOM OUT and we can see more of
these little cracks appearing.

CUT BACK TO:

EXT. L.A. STREET - NIGHT

Angel and his are still fighting, but suddenly a strong
current of air flows past them. We see demons in the
background being absorbed into a black whole, where Illyria
was just a minute ago. There's still a blue glow around the
black whole. Demons around Angel, Spike, and Gunn start
flying through the air as well, the smaller ones first, then
bigger and heavier ones. The demons all around them have now
about gone, and we see the dragon is the only one left. It
tries to make it's way to Angel, but it can hardly move
forward. When it's nose reaches Angel, the dragon, while
flapping its wings, just hangs still.
Then Angel punches the dragon, throwing him off balance. The
dragon rapidly twirls around and flies straight into the
black whole, which is shrinking and by the time the dragon is
sucked in, it completely disappears. There's a moment of
silence. The wind has stopped, the glowing has stopped, the
whole street is deserted except for Angel, Gunn and Spike of
course. Then there's the brightest flashes of light, in
moment accompanied by a loud BANG. We can hear glass
shattering all around. Then very slowly, the flash wears off,
and where once the black whole and before that Illyria was,
it's empty now. Angel, Spike, and Gunn are alone again now.
Gunn sits down on the ground, Angel and Spike standing by,
all of them staring at the empty place.

FADE TO:

INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY

Angel, Spike, and Buffy share a moment of silence, which is
then suddenly interrupted by Gunn and Anne walking in.

ANNE
Buffy?

BUFFY
Lily?

The two of them step toward each other and hug.

BUFFY (CONT'D)
God, what are you doing here? Oh,
wait you're THAT Anne... the head
of the Charity? Wow.

ANNE
Yeah, I am indeed. How about you,
what are you doing here?

BUFFY
(Points at Angel and
Spike.)
I used to date them... well, not at
the same time.

ANGEL
You two know each other?

ANNE
We go way back.
(she turns back to Buffy)
Here's my card.
(she hands over a business
card)
You should call me someday, maybe
we could catch up.

BUFFY
I will, sounds like fun.

ANNE
Well, I have to get back now, so
cya.

They all wave her off as she leaves.

GUNN
Hi, let me introduce myself, I'm
Charles Gunn.

They shake hands.

BUFFY
Honoured to meet you, I heard a lot
about you.

GUNN
Same here. I don't mean to break up
the party, but guys, the sun's
down, are we leaving now, or do you
need some more time to erm... wrap
things up?

BUFFY
Well, if you don't mind. I was kind
of hoping I could borrow them for
the night.

GUNN
I'm afraid you can't.

BUFFY
Why not?

ANGEL
We're going to the cemetery.

BUFFY
That's fine by me. We could go sla-

Angel clears his throat.

SPIKE
We're going there to well, you
know.

BUFFY
Oh, well erm... alright, I'm
heading back tonight. So, I guess I
won't be seeing you anymore then,
but you know, if you ever feel like
a day at the beach, you can always
stop by.

SPIKE
We might.

ANGEL
Probably will one day.

BUFFY
Well goodbye then.

Buffy turns to Gunn.

BUFFY (CONT'D)
And your friends needn't be
strangers either.

GUNN
Who knows, I might drop by one day.

BUFFY
Well ,I'll see you then, bye.

Buffy walks up to Spike and she hugs him. Then to Angel and
she hugs him too. Then she turns away and walks off. Angel
and Spike stare after her.

FADE TO:

EXT. CEMETERY - DUSK

CUE: Gary Jules - Mad World (again.) The sun's just set, but
its still pretty light outside. The cemetery is very large
and empty. Very little trees or bushes. There's nobody there,
but three men: Gunn, Spike and Angel. They're walking slowly
across the isles to a place somewhere in the back. There are
five headstones.

MOVING SHOT.

The CAMERA moves along the five stones. We can need read what
they say.
ALLAN FRANCIS DOYLE 1972-1999
LILAH MORGAN 1971-2003
CORDELIA CHASE 1981-2004
WINIFRED BURKLE 1980-2004
WESLEY WYNDHAM-PRYCE 1975-2004

MONTAGE:

We see various shots in slow-motion of Fred, Wesley, Cordy,
Lilah, and Doyle in battle, while the crew while angel
speaks:

ANGEL (V.O.)
Even though they knew they were
going to die, they still kept
fighting. They were all champions;
they were strong. Maybe not by
hand, but by heart. They all had
their own lives but when it came to
saving innocents or loved ones,
they dropped everything. We never
ask to be a hero, we simply become
one, whether we want to or not. It
a burden, that's for sure. But
there's no better feeling than
coming home from a day's work and
knowing you've made a difference.
And that's what they did; they made
a difference.

FADE TO:

Angel, Gunn, and Spike. We see the gang from above (crane
angle) and we slowly move down to the graves and then we go
down, moving the camera under the ground until we see a
basement lair.

FADE TO:

INT. BASEMENT LAIR - NIGHT

It's a very dark room only lit by a boulder with fire
mysteriously burning on top of it. Around the boulder four
demon monks are kneeled down and praying in some unknown
demon language. We hear various shouts and screams of pain
from a man being beaten and smacked down to the ground with a
cotton bag over it's head. We can't see who's beating him, as
the fire only sheds enough light to distinquish his iron
boots. Finally, he steps out of the darkness. The person,
XAVIER, looks like a human male, but his skin's greyish and
his eyes are solid black.

XAVIER
Do I need to do all the dirty work
myself?... Oh well.

He pulls the bag off the guy's head and it looks like an
ordinary man to us. The man is shackled down and thus unable
to move. Xavier then swiftly snaps the man's neck. The he
grabs him by the hairs and smacks his head onto the boulder.
We can hear the crushing of bones. The fire melts the skin of
the corpse, while Xavier removes the shackles. Suddenly, the
man pushes his face off the stone, and he falls to the
ground, coughing. His hair's grown and his body is a lot more
muscled all of a sudden, but he's also grown a lot paler.

XAVIER (CONT'D)
So tell me, how does a resurrection
like that make you feel?

Then the man turns to us, and we recognise, in spite of his
paleness and the shallowness of his eyes, who this man is.

DROGYN
Make me feel ready for vengeance.

BLACK OUT.

END OF EPISODE.

Okay, some more public service announcements. Wasn't Gunn dieing? Well, sorta, but Joss left us in quite a predicament, so we interpreted things that happened as we saw fit. Didn't Nina and Angel break up? Well now, have you read the episode? It clearly explains what happened. Wasn't the W&H-building collapsing? Well, it was in pretty bad shape, but nothing that couldn't be fixe-... you know, who the hell am I talking to anyway. Yourself. I'm bothering myself with these pointless questions? Pretty much, yeah. Gosh, I hate myself sometimes.

Please, by all means, let me know what you think!

Next week: Buffy 9.01 Breakers (watch the trailer here)

Yay Angel 6 is finally here. 😉
I really like the season premeire, it is done as good as - no wait better - than the original series, and I love the flashbacks, the whole episode is so great 😀

i have to agree with Dia DeLa Muerte.
your characterizations are wrong, gunn and spike would never talk like this.
and i don't think buffy would ask to see a picture of angel's new girlfriend.
i don't know if it was possible to give illyria back her powers, but in 'time bomb' i think the result was going be devestate a lot more than a five mile radius.
lilah was never a champion, she thought of no one but herself (i love lilah, but it's the truth) she shouldn't be mentioned in a paragraph where angel is describing all of his loved ones who died for the greater good. who were TRUE champions.
if you were going to bring buffy into this, she should have had a bigger part, not sitting in a office for an hour, then taking off.
and also, there was no need for angel to introduce spike and buffy. i think they might already know each other...

I'm sorry I have to agree with Dia DeLa Muerte, Lyri, and Hero. I found something wrong with almost all of the characters. Most of the lines you put in the would NEVER say. For instance why would Spike say Please. Where in either series did Spike say please. Or when was he embarassed. Also Gunn and his cool cat statement. He is a 90's street fighter, a 50's bike gang member.
Sorry if any of this has offended you but your story was not very good.

OK, as my other post was censored and relegated to the pits of Hell(The Sunnydale Cemetary to be precise...topic DDLM....just to point out that people SHOULD not read it....) heres my constructive critisism.

There is a HUGE problem with every single character....not one of them is the character we have seen on the TV.....
They seem to have devolved to a 1950's sitcom.....and not a good one at that.
To rectify this i suggest that you re-watch every single episode of BOTH Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. This should give you an insight into who these characters actually are.

Almost every single line of dialogue is poor, and does not at ALL resemble anything that we have seen in the shows....again the same recommendation here as for your characters....Re-watch the SHOW.

Now i am assuming that you have indeed watched the shows one time around......so you may have noticed that at no time ever has a show had a disclaimer to say why there are modified parts...Those cheeky writers of the show.....if they had thought about doing that it would have saved time in the long run...instead of going through the motions of explaining it in the script....puh.

I cant wait for the next one.

See that wasn't so hard was it? :P PS Your posts were removed because they were inappropriate and derailed the discussion. I didn't have any reason to hide them however.
I was really looking foward to this because I've enjoyed your virtual series in the past but I have to agree with everyone else here. The characterizations are very wrong here. I know you do have "poetic license" to change them but I think you should try to stick with their core personalities. You can gradually change them but like the previous posters I found the gunn/spike dialogue off.

Also the random 'Buffy sits around while being told the story' just seemed so off and wrong.

Iono if this story was rushed but it really felt like it was. As if whoever wrote it was struggling for a way to explain how they made it out of the alley and introduce the idea of a continuing series. It seems that you came up with this random Illyria thing. I can respect that perhaps it's possible she didn't loose all her major powers but I know she was very weakened and changed after Time Bomb I cant imagine her having the power to do this and her diaglogue was just soooooo off. Illyria has the air of superiority with a hint of not per se ignorance but bemusement with this new world. I just felt that it didn't ring true of the character that we had see before. Especially This
Those silly words proclaiming
readiness will not make a
difference.

Just the word "silly" seems so unlike Illyria. I could more see her saying something along the lines of

The question and answer have no bearing

Which is close but I think it's "more Illyria".

Again I respect your poetic license but with fan fic there has to be an explaination for such a drastic change in dialogue. I don't feel that was provided.

I did like the use of Gary Jules - Mad World The first time but the speech/second use...Angel does do the VO ever so often but this felt a tad cheese.

Quick Question: Why was Lilah buried with the rest? She may have "helped out" but she was never one of the "gang".

Buffy's dialogue also just rang so strikingly off. Not fitting her personality at all. Which is odd because you seemed to capture her really well in the Buffy virtual series. Perhaps it was because she seemed so out of place that the dialogue seemed odd.

You have a good foundation for a much better virtual series. I encourage you to "bring it" with the next episode. I know you can do it. 🙂

I guess I'll have to take your word on it that it is bad. 🙁 Personally, during the writing of the first draft really got a feeling that Angel wasn't really my show to write for... Buffy suits me much better... but well, it's hard to find staff for a virtual continuation. So, I had to fill in quite a few times. There was a lot in this episode that needed to be done and I supposed that perhaps they needed to be done differently.

I personally don't think any one the lines is too unrealistic, but with fiction everyone has his or her own interpretation and there is bound to be someone with a really deviant interpretation.

Yes, Lilah is burried with the others... this was a much debated issues amongst our staff, but the final conclusion is that even if Lilah wasn't as much a hero as any of the others (if at all) her feelings for Wes were genuine. Even if he did not love her back, he undoubtably cared about her. It is our believe that putting Lilah there wasn't a gang decision, but one by Wesley solo that the others respected.

Unfortunatly for you, I've also wrote the next two eps... (lack of staff again.) But we do have another very talented guy write 6.04 So, please bare with us.

I agree that Buffy's visit was small, but also practical... we didn't want to open Angel with a focus on a guest star, but there was some immediate business that needed to be taken care off. The whole situation where the Fang Gang doesn't know about Giles' lies (for those who don't understand the Buffy hating Giles read 8.07) and the whole Spike is alive thing.

Anyhow, I hope that apart from Samara, some people actually DID find this piece entertaining and I hope that you'll enjoy our next episodes more.

Buffy Summers said:
One thing I have to add is that Spike and Angel saw Buffy in Italy - even if she didn't see them.

She wasn't in Italy (again I refer to 807) but this will all be explained in due time.

Ok 1. Truthfully did they ever really see buffy? I mean We never really saw her face so how do we know they really did?I guess because Joss say they did but Anyways even if they did why involve buffy if buffy cannot be seen?

2. I actually liked this. I thought it was great, and actually the characters have changed quite a bit from season to season look at Gunn one minute he was a gangsta then the next a lawyer with all the knowledge of demon and human laws, Lets not forget Angel. One minute he goes from being all creature of the night dressed sexy then all CEO of wolfram and hart suit wearing stuffy guy. I am not saying it as a bad thing i'm just saying, Everyone changes from season too season so maybe they Changed agian Alittle fast grant it but it happens. As for lilah, Ever think Angel was saying that because of wesley? We all know wesley fell in love with her and maybe angel was seeing it through his eyes. She cared about something more than just her self in a twisted way she cared for wesley, or so i think. Also Buffy really isn't the main character of the show so why would she HAVE to be in it and drawn out. Why cants she just make a cameo and be done with it.

Anyways I thought that it was great... Maybe alittle different from the show but its your version. Ally your a great writter, and one day who knows we may see your name come up in the show biz. Your smart and you have a great imagination and you choose to put that into good use to help the Buffy and Angel Legacy go on. Everyone has there on opinion i'm not putting any of them down i'm just adding my own. Ally dont let peoples opinions get you down cause everyone has one. Some bad, Some good. You have had ALOT of positive reviews for Buffy last year. a few bads but mostly good think of this as a challenge. One you have to over come take those negitive and positive reviews and use them. Expecially the negitive to make yourself a better writter. Dont give up though. and dont feel bad. Because i am still looking foward to Many many more buffy and angel vs storys and things. Keep your head up hun.

I liked the overall arc of the ep. I so don't agree wit Illyria dieing, I loved her character! I totally agree wit u that Buffy should not have been main centre of the ep. And I like the flash back idea it allowed more to be covered in one ep, like the battle and the aftermath. Although I don't think Lilah should have been there (at the graves), but I do see ur point about Wesley wanting it. What what about including Illyria there? I know she 'Killed' Fred, cow! (Illyria not Fred) but she did to save them.

And I realise that I said I loved Illyria and then called her a cow, but she was a cow for killing Fred, But I really liked her as well.

Lol, well the thing is that Illyria wasn't exactly human or anything like it... besides she's a godess... I'm sure she lives on in some way or other.

No, that's not a hint! Well, not an immediate hint anyway... we might one day bring her back... but certainly not in this season.
