For those of you who did not read Buffy 8.07 "Delusional" ... in this episode it was revealed that what Andrew said to Angel, about Buffy not trusting him was a lie. Obviously, she wasn't in Italy either, so we already knew something was up. Giles had Andrew lie, because he wanted to apply some extra pressure on Angel, who he believed to have gone evil.

INT. AI OFFICE HALL - DAY
The indicator shows us that the elevator is rising. When the
indicator reaches our level it stops. The bell rings with a
familiar TING. The doors slowly open a little bit, but before
we can see who's inside, we...
CUT TO:
P.O.V.
The person from the elevator is walking through the hall,
looking around. Then approaches the door to Angel's office,
and enters.
INT. AI OFFICE HALL - DAY (CONT'D)
Angel is sitting in his chair, which is turned the other with
its back to us, as he's on the phone.
ANGEL (ON THE PHONE)
Sure, that seems like a plan, good
work Curtis... Yeah, okay erm,
(Very uncomfortably.)
Peace out homey...
(A beat.)
Right... just goodbye.
Angel puts the phone down and turns around to us in his big
chair, and looks up surprised at the person standing before
him.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
(Suspiscious.)
You?
REVERSE P.O.V.
GILES is standing in Angel's office.
FADE TO:
INT. FACTORY - NIGHT
SUBTITLE:
The night before.
Xavier, with two demon BODYGUARDS walks into a large open
space in a factory, machine is softly roaring in the
background. He is approached by a nervous looking human man,
who's carrying a briefcase.

XAVIER
You got what we need?
NERVOUS MAN
Y-Yeah... it's all here, do you
have it too?
XAVIER
What's the matter? You look a bit
nervous.
NERVOUS MAN
I'm n-not nervous...
(Tries to smile,
unconvincingly)
Why would I be?
XAVIER
Men, load your crossbows.
The bodyguards do as Xavier says, but suddenly, from all
around Raspinatza demons step out of the shadows. The
bodyguards put their crossbows on the ground. One of the
Elders steps toward him from not too far behind the nervous
man.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Well, well. Xavier of the Terranera
clan. You've been thwarting some of
our business-plans for quite some
time now. An-
NERVOUS MAN
Look, I did my job... can I go now?
RASPINATZA ELDER
Yes, you can... to hell.
As the Elder say this the nervous man turns around and look
at him, afraid, at this moment, half of the Raspinatza demons
shoot their arrows at them. And with about ten arrows in his
chest he drops dead. The Elder steps over his body, toward
Xavier.
RASPINATZA ELDER (CONT'D)
Worthless...
(Turns to Xavier again.)
Your men can go. They are to tell
your clan to disarm and leave this
city. They are to hand their
artefacts and weapons over to us...
in return, they will get their
leader back.
(To his soldiers.)
Take him away.

One of Raspinatza demons shoot an arrow at Xavier, which hits
him in the arm. He becomes drowsy and fall down unconscious.
The two bodyguards watch as some other Raspinatza collect
Xavier and carry him off.

It's a regular building, with a collection of small offices.
Some van is parked across the street from it. Suddenly, a
limousine pulls up in front of it.
CUT TO:
INT. CORBIN'S OFFICE - NIGHT
The office is small; it's a bit like Angel's office from
season 1. Corbin Fries is sitting in a chair; he's on the
phone.
CORBIN FRIES
Right, so I'll have to go the
museum myself and check everything
out... Yes, I'll be able to get a
spycam... Right, I'll send the tape
to you. Yes, bye.
He hangs up. And looks up at the door opening. The Raspinatza
Elder is standing in it.

RASPINATZA ELDER
Well?
CORBIN FRIES
Our operative has gotten hold of
the maps and the security routes
and everything, but requested I
take a tour around the museum, tape
everything I see, before the hit,
to get an idea what it looks like
for real.
RASPINATZA ELDER
You are sure, the operative will
succeed in obtaining the item.
CORBIN FRIES
More than sure. She is... gifted.
ZOOM IN.
On bunch of flowers on Corbin's desk, how cliché, there is a
microphone in them.
CUT TO:
EXT. OFFICE BUILDING - NIGHT
The limousine is still parked in front of the building, as
the van slowly pulls up and drives off.
FADE TO:
INT. ABANDONNED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
An assortment of demons is yelling at each other or talking
loudly and passionately, as Xavier's two bodyguards stand by
watching them. Drogyn enters the hall, but nobody seems to
notice.
DROGYN
(Angry.)
SILENCE!
Suddenly, all the demons shut up, and look at Drogyn,
surprised.
DROGYN (CONT'D)
All this dumb bickering is going to
get you your leader back. I... have
a plan though.
One of the TERRANERA LIEAUTENANTs steps towards him.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
Who put you in charge?

DROGYN
You did!...
(A beat.)
By being such a complete idiot, you
leave me no choice, but to take
this matter into my own hands.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
(Scoffs.)
Why would I ever want to trust you!
DROGYN
They...
(Pointing at the other
Lieutenants.)
Have to trust me because Xavier
does. And I'm sure they can figure
out, that without weapons and your
support it'll be much more
difficult for me to exact my
revenge on Angel, so they'll all
realise that I want to get Xavier
back, just as much as you do. You
however, don't have to trust me.
(Smiles at him friendly.)
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
And why's that?
DROGYN
(Still smiling.)
Because unfortunately for you, it's
time for a little natural selection
amongst the rank of lieutenant.
Drogyn's smile instantly fades as he punches the demon
through his stomach. We hear the demon drop to the ground, as
the shot establishes on Drogyn.
DROGYN (CONT'D)
An important agent of the
Raspinatza clan is going to visit
the museum of natural science
tomorrow... We're going to take him
and his whole damn tour-group
hostage.
OTHER LIEUTENANT
Why the whole group? Wouldn't that
attract more attention.
DROGYN
(Begins to grin.)
I have my reasons.
FADE TO:

EXT. JILL ASH' HOUSE - MORNING
The front-door opens and AMANDA (Nina's niece) runs out, her
mother JILL (Nina's sister) follows her.
JILL
Honey, you forgot your lunch!
Amanda runs back to her mother and takes the lunch.
JILL (CONT'D)
I know you're excited about the
school trip honey.
Amanda nods enthusiastically.
JILL (CONT'D)
Well, go on then, have fun at the
museum...
At this Amanda runs off to the schoolbus as Jill waves her
off.
FADE TO:
INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY
ANGEL
You?
Angel and Giles staring each other in the eyes.
GILES
Hello, Angel.
A beat.
ANGEL
Why?
GILES
To apologise, I was wr-
ANGEL
(Stern.)
I know that... why did you do it?
GILES
(Sighs.)
We believed you had crossed over,
that you were working for them...
for real. We believed it might make
you realise-...

ANGEL
You though I might turn to working
for the good guys again, by taking
away the thing that initially got
me working for you in the first
place.
GILES
Like I said, it was wrong... I was
wrong.
ANGEL
(Angry.)
Damn straight you were wrong.
GILES
And I offer my sincere apologies. I
made an error in judgement. It
doesn't happen very often, but it
did. I hope you'll be able to
forgive me, if not... at least
forgive the Council. Allow me to
resign and someone else to take my
pl-
ANGEL
Don't tell me that. I don't care
about the Council.
GILES
But th-
ANGEL
I care about someone I thought I
could consider a friend... who then
betrayed my trust... That really
hurts.
GILES
(Sighs.)
Yes, I s'pose that's a fair way of
looking at it.
ANGEL
I know we need the Council, and I'm
guessing the Council needs us, but
what neither of us need is this
mistrust. What both of us need is
friends out there.
GILES
(Sad.)
Oh, I know... all too well. Last
year, we thought we had lost one.
But only when we acted as if we
had, did we... or I really lose
some... Do... How-..

ANGEL
She's doing fine... They all are.
GILES
Thanks... I'm glad we, erm...
ANGEL
Yeah, I'm glad too.
Both look rather relieved. Angel gets up and offers Giles a
seat in his comfy chairs.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
Drink?
GILES
Thee, please?
Angel walks out of the office for a second and comes back
with a cup, Giles look up at how fast he is.
ANGEL
The guy from archives will get a
new one. I hope he puts the same
into it a you do.
Giles takes the cup and Angel sits down next to him in the
other comfy chair.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
So, how's... business?
GILES
We're steadily expanding. By now
more than two thirds of all Slayers
have been assigned a watcher. But
inside the Council there's still
considerable struggle between
liberals like myself and
conservatives... it's a slow
process, but I think we'll get
there. You?
ANGEL
We got everything pretty well under
control. There are a few groups of
demons, clans, that want a piece of
the pie that's L.A. post-Wolfram &
Hart, but we've been able to get
most pieces ourselves, we have a
very able staff. It's just a pity
that the Council keeps snatching
all knowledgable people to become
watcher; so, we do still need
someone to head our research
department.

Giles laughs.
GILES
Yes, we do have a hand of that. If
ever you need intelligence; we've
got a wealth of information that,
since we're on the same side, we're
more than willing to share.
ANGEL
Thanks, I erm might just take you
up on that.

ACT II
FADE TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
A group is touring the museum, guided by a female TOUR-GUIDE.
The group consists of a group of school-children and their
teacher, amongst which Amanda, a couple of tourists, and
Corbin Fries.
TOUR-GUIDE
That concludes this section. Now,
if you'll follow me into the next
room.
They walk on to the next room.
INT. MUSEUM MOONSTONE ROOM - DAY
The room is rather dark... in the middle in a small piece of
rock surrounded on a pedestal in a glass cage. The group
gather in the center of the room, which is surrounded by tall
pillars.
TOUR-GUIDE
This piece of rock, may look very
special, but it's actually from the
moon.
The group of kids goes wow, but Corbin looks unimpressed
rather he is look all round him in the room, while playing
with his tie.
ZOOM IN:
On Corbin's tie, a tiny spy camera is hidden in it.

ZOOM OUT.
AMANDA
My aunt is scared of the moon; the
moon isn't dangerous, is it?
TOUR-GUIDE
No, of course it isn't. In ancient
time people believed that the moon
has strange magical powers, but
today we know that that's all silly
nonsense.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT (O.S.)
I tend to disagree.
The Tour-guide turns around and see the demon standing
between the pillars on the other side of the room; she
shrieks and so do some of the girls. Corbin immediately gets
to running, as from the other side more demons storm into the
room.
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY (CONT'D)
Corbin runs into the next room, but from a couple of demon
crash into the windows from outside, when they land and spot
Corbin they run after him. He runs away, but bumps into
another demon as he leaves the room. The demon grabs him and
escorts him back to the Moonstone room.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM MOONSTONE ROOM - DAY
Corbin is pushed back with the other hostages, who are being
held at crossbow and gun-point by the different demons of the
Terranera-clan. The lieutenant is talking on his cellphone.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT (ON THE PHONE)
Yeah, we have all of them.
DROGYN (V.O.) (ON THE PHONE)
Let the games begin.
FADE TO:
INT. ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS LOBBY - DAY
The elevator reaches the lobby, the doors open, and Gunn gets
out.
ANNE (O.S.)
Charles!
From one of the hallways Anne walks toward Gunn and gives him
a hug.

ANNE (CONT'D)
Welcome back, how was your trip?
They slowly start walking toward Angel's office.
GUNN
It was good. Primarily business,
but I also got to spend some time
with them... it was interesting to
see how they live and work and all.
ANNE
I'll bet. How was Buffy?
GUNN
She was... good.
ANNE
Well, you've got to tell me all
about it.
GUNN
I will. It's just I heard some
pretty disturbing news on the way
in.
They enter Angel's office, to find Giles and Angel laughing.
GUNN (CONT'D)
Oh, sorry, didn't mean to
interrupt.
ANGEL
No, it's fine... erm
Angel gets up.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
Gunn, Anne; meet Rupert Giles, head
of the Watcher's Council. Giles,
these are the heads of the Angel
Investigations legal and charity
department, Charles Gunn, and the
ever-lovely Anne Steele.
GILES
Nice to meet you.
They shake hands, but Gunn looks a bit suspicious and gives
Angel a confused look, to which Angel smiles comfortingly.
ANGEL
So, how was Edmonsville?
GILES
You went there?

GUNN
Yeah, it was good; they were all
doing fine... Things here, however,
are far from fine.
ANGEL
(Get's more serious.)
How do you mean.
GUNN
On my way over I heard the news.
Some people have taken a guided
tour hostage in the Museum of
Natural Science.
ANGEL
Well? Sounds like a job for the
police, not us.
GUNN
The hostage takers were reportedly
dressed in Halloween costumes to
make them unrecognisable, the all
looked like monsters...
ANGEL
Right, Gunn, you get down there
now, check what the situation is
and convince the police not to take
any action... tell them
reinforcement's on the way.
GUNN
Gotcha, what are you-
ANGEL
White Room... could you page Spike
to get there too?
GUNN
I'm on it.
Angel prepares to walk off.
ANNE
What about me? Can't I help?
Angel takes a look at Gunn.
ANGEL
Go with him.
Anne and Gunn walk off. Giles gives Angel a questioning look.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
Alright, you can come with me.
CUT TO:
INT. WHITE ROOM - DAY
Angel and Giles enter the white room, where Hamilton with a
bowl of popcorn on his lap is watching American Football. He
makes an "ooohh" sound one of the players get's tackled. Than
he sees them; hastily, he puts away the popcorn and switched
the channel to the local news.
HAMILTON
Terrible isn't it, a group of
school children taken hostage?
ANGEL
I can see you're really touched.
What's the score on this one?
HAMILTON
Lakers leading by 20.
PS: Can someone confirm the Lakers are an American Football
team, and leading by twenty is a reasonable score?!?
ANGEL
I mean on the hostage situation.
HAMILTON
Oh, right. No, I can't.
ANGEL
What do you mean you can't?
HAMILTON
There's some strange uninvited guy
in here, and as you know, I'm not
allowed to talk to stranger...
besides, I'm very shy you know.
ANGEL
Well, let me introduce you to
Rupert Giles, head of the Watcher's
Council. I invited him and now
you're not strangers anymore, so
talk!
Hamilton and Giles shake heads. Suddenly, Spike materialises.
Giles and Spike look at each other with faces that read I
certainly wasn't expecting this.
SPIKE
Bloody hell, I certainly wasn't
expecting this.

HAMILTON
(To Spike, mockingly)
He's Council... very important man.
GILES
Hello Spike, it's been a while.
SPIKE
Yeah, it has... A lot's changed.
Spike looks to Angel, questioningly.
ANGEL
It's okay.
HAMILTON
Yeah, okay, we've all seen mister
Watcher here now. Can we just get
back to business?
ANGEL
Just, Giles, this is Marcus
Hamilton. He erm, used to work for
Wolfram & Hart, but he's now sort
of employed by the Powers...
because he betrayed them in the
past.
(Thinks about what he just
said.)
The Powers work in mysterious ways,
that's for sure.
GILES
Hmm, Marcus Hamilton. I've heard of
you.
HAMILTON
I bet you have...
(Proudly.)
I was quite notorious back in the
days.
GILES
Actually, I remember this one story
about plain robbery. You and a
partner robbed a rich Lord that
lived in a castle near a small
village Canton. You tried to get
away with horse and carriage, but
the roads were too muddy and you
were too heavy. First, you pushed
your partner off, because you
wanted to keep the gold. That
didn't work and when you got to the
village you threw away the gold...

you were light enough to get
through the mud and you had created
enough distraction to stop the
chasing party. The villagers kept
the money and you became a genuine
hero once again. Notorious indeed.
Angel and Spike laugh at the story, while Hamilton stands
there a bit embarrassed.
HAMILTON
Well... we learn from our mistakes.
Angel and Spike continue laughing.
HAMILTON (CONT'D)
(Angered.)
Alright, that's about enough.
ANGEL
Sure, let's all be silent, for the
Hero of Canton is about to speak.
HAMILTON
(Angry.)
Oh, shut up already... it's bad
enough I have to miss part of the
game! What do you want to know?
ANGEL
The museum, what's going down
there? Why such a big and public
attack?
Hamilton closes his eyes and says nothing for a minute; the
others look at him confused.
HAMILTON
Alright, here's what the Powers
said. Raspinatza-clan is holding
the leader of the Terranera-clan
hostage; apparently, some important
Raspinatza is at the museum and the
Terranera took him. They probably
want an exchange.
ANGEL
I guess we don't really have to do
anything about it then. They'll get
their exchange, everything goes
away?
HAMILTON
Actually, it is your business, not
only are the lives of innocents at
stake, if the two of them don't
manage to settle this... well, they
may resort to an all-out war.

ANGEL
Should have figured.
(To Spike.)
We're gonna try this the diplomatic
way, but make sure that if we need
to we'll be ready to strike.
He turns to Spike.
SPIKE
Right, I'll see if there are any
shadowed entrances and check
blueprints and stuff...
(To Giles.)
Department-head stuff, you know.
Notices Angel's annoyed look.
SPIKE (CONT'D)
Right, meet me in the lab in
thirty.
ANGEL
We well. First, let's check up on
Gunn.
FADE TO:
EXT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
LAPD has surrounded the building and are keeping the public
at a distance. There are snipers on the rooftops of buildings
across the street from the museum. Gunn and Anne try to worm
a way through the crowd. Finally, the reach the corridor, the
adress a police OFFICER there.
GUNN
Excuse me, officer, I need to speak
to whoever's in charge here.
OFFICER
I don't think so; look, there'll be
press-conference pretty soon I
think, you'll have to wait.
GUNN
No, you don't understand, I'm not
with the press.
OFFICER
Oh, right. If you believe any
friends or family-members are
inside, you should report with that
man over there.
GUNN
No, I'm not a civilian either.

From behind the officer, the police CHIEF joins them.
CHIEF
What's going on here; get these
people out of here.
OFFICER
They claim to have business with
you.
The Chief looks at them a bit surprised.
GUNN
We're here to help you with the
situation.
CHIEF
Well, I don't know who you are, but
this is my jurisdiction.
A police SERGEANT walks up to the chief.
SERGEANT
Sir, I just got a call from
Washington, a General Finn is
sending over two of his best men;
we are to stand down until they
arrive and follow their every
command.
They both look at Anne and Gunn.
GUNN
That's us.
SERGEANT
Wow, I didn't expect to see you
this soon; I got the impression
it'd take you hours to get here.
Gunn and Anne climb over the corridor and walk off with the
Chief and the Sergeant.
FADE TO BLACK.
ACT III
FADE TO:
EXT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Gunn and Anne slowly approach the museum, a few feet from the
door they stop.
GUNN
I'm Charles Gunn, I represent Angel
Investigations.

We'd like to talk to you, we want
to know what's going on and how we
can help.
Slowly, the front door opens a slight bit, Gunn and Anne can
look in a bit and see the Lieutenant, but the door isn't
opened enough to allow police or press to look in.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
Raspinatza has our leader. We now
have one of them.
GUNN
Alright, but why not silently
retreat from the museum; let go of
the civilians.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
We will... if you'll negotiate for
us.
GUNN
What?!
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
We'll we sort of have our hands
full. We want a simple exchange, of
our theirs for one of ours.
GUNN
Aren't you at least going to tell
me who you have?
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
They know... Good luck.
The door closes again and Gunn looks at Anne, a bit confused
about what just happened. As they walk off, Gunn flips open
his cellphone.
FADE TO:
INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY
Angel and Giles are in Angel's office; Angel is just putting
the phone down.
GILES
Well?
ANGEL
They want us to negotiate; so, I
told Gunn and Anne to get to the
Raspinatza hotel to negotiate.
GILES
And in the mean time?

ANGEL
Well, we wait.
Nina enters.
NINA
Hi, honey.
(Notices Giles.)
Oh, sorry. I thought you had not
appointments today.
ANGEL
It's okay, Nina, this is Rupert
Giles an old... friend. Giles, this
is my girlfriend, Nina Ash.
GILES
How do you do?
NINA
A polite gentleman, we really ought
to have more of those around.
ANGEL
Has Spike been bothering you again?
NINA
Nah, it's okay. So, anything
interesting up?
ANGEL
Yeah, we got a hostage situation.
Terranera-clan has decided to take
a guided tour group of the Museum
of Natural Science hostage, cause
one of them was a Raspinatza
member.
Nina stops dead in her track and becomes very pale all of a
sudden.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
What? Nina!?
Nina grabs her cellphone and dials a number. While she waits
for the other person to pick up the phone, she talks to
Angel.
NINA
Jody told me Amanda was going to
the museum today on a school trip.
And in class just now, I got a call
from her; I couldn't answer, but-
(The other side answers.)
Jody, it's me, Nina.... Yeah, I've
he- Now, calm down Jody, it's all
gonna be ok-...

I know, look I told you my
boyfriend does an important job;
well, this is one of the things he
takes care of.... Yes, I'm going to
make sure he's on top of it. Okay,
you come over here. Okay, I'll see
you soon, bye.
(Turns to Angel.)
Amanda is in there.
ANGEL
Gunn is on his way to negotiate.
We'll get down there right now.
You'll take care of Jodi?
Nina nods silently as Angel leaves and gestures Giles to
follow him.
FADE TO:
INT. RASPANITZA HOTEL - DAY
The hotel is as usual buzzing with people, Gunn and Anne
enter it cautiously, but notice that all the people there are
normal humans. They stare up at the strange architecture and
the patterns featuring demons, the realise, but just exotic
creatures to the other humans. Gunn and Anne walk up to the
friendly smiling human receptionist.
RECEPTIONIST
Yes?
GUNN
We're here to talk to the
Raspinatza.
RECEPTIONIST
Yes? How may I help you.
GUNN
(Leans forward to
whisper.)
The 'other' Raspinatza. The 'real'
Raspinatza.
The receptionist looks at him a bit estranged.
RECEPTIONIST
That kind of business is not
conducting like this. Obviously,
you've not dealt with them before;
I doubt you will.
GUNN
Tell them Charles Gunn from Angel
Investigation is in the lobby.
They'll deal!

The receptionist hands him over a key.
RECEPTIONIST
Room 101. Give me a minute please.
FADE TO:
INT. ROOM 101 - DAY
Gunn and Anne enter the hotel suite. It's empty but as soon
as they close the door one of the book cases opens and a
secret passage is revealed. The Raspinatza elder from before
walks out.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Mr. Gunn. Ms. Steele.
GUNN
Mr... ?
RASPINATZA ELDER
Talk only of why you're present
here.
GUNN
Alright. Terranera send me. They
have one of yours and you have one
of theirs. They want an exchange,
simple, clean. That's all I know.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Let me think... No. They have
someone who is... replacable.
Besides, we're not scared of them.
They may attack us if they want...
cause I'm quite sure you won't want
that and you'll stop them. No,
they'll have to come up with a
better offer, though I'm afraid
they don't have any.
The Raspinatza Elder resolutely turns around and exits,
leaving Gunn perplexed.
ANNE
He was quick to make his mind up
about that.
GUNN
Yeah, I don't like the game they're
using us in, but we better play
along. Let's brief Angel.
FADE TO:

INT. VAN (OUTSIDE MUSEUM) - DAY
Angel, Spike, and Giles are in the back of the van, which has
all kinds of maps and equipment in it. The back doors open
and as Spike and Angel move away from the light, Gunn and
Anne climb in.
GUNN
They didn't want to make a deal.
ANGEL
So, what are our options?
GUNN
We could maybe offer something as

We go in... stealthily. Recover
Amanda. Move out again.
ANNE
You gonna just leave the other
kids?
ANGEL
Yeah. We can't rescue them all
without getting noticed. We'd be
risking their lives, if we tried to
save them all.
Spike raises his hand, Angel nods at him.
SPIKE
I'm guessing stealthily implies I'm
not part of the action?
Angel nods again.

SPIKE (CONT'D)
Bugger.
ANGEL
(To Giles)
You will be though.
GILES
(Surprised)
Me? I'm not exactly a fighter. You
know that.
ANGEL
True, but you can withstand
sunlight and I can't. So, if our
escape route happens to be too
close to windows...
GILES
Right, but don't you have people
who do this?
ANGEL
Well, Gunn could do it, but he'll
be negotiating. And we got to have
our men be prepared in case this
goes awry... This'll be a good
opportunity for you to prove you're
sincere.
GILES
Fair enough. I'll go.
FADE TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE BACK ENTRANCE - DAY
The door bursts open and Angel and Spike run in, followed by
Giles who walks casually. Angel and Spike dust of some of the
ash from the burns of their coats.
ANGEL
Alright Spike, you stay here. If
you hear us making a ruckus you can
get in. Otherwise, just wait!
SPIKE
Alright mate, I got it.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Angel and Giles creep through one of the rooms. They spot one
of the Terranera patrolling the halls.

They lurk in the shadows and watch him leave, as soon as he
has they creep onwards. When they have left another Terranera
comes forward from the shadows.
TERRANERA
(Into a walkie-talkie)
The plan is in motion... but
Angel's brought someone other than
Spike.
FADE TO:
INT. MUSEUM MOONSTONE ROOM - DAY
Angel and Giles peek around a corner into the moonstone room
where the hostages are kept. Two Terranera are guarding them.
ANGEL
Okay, here's what we do. You hide
around the corner here. I'll lure
one of them out with some
distraction. You can sneak past the
other.
GILES
Right.
Giles does as Angel asks and Angel goes to the other end of
the room where he pushes over some promotional cardboard cut
out of a rock. He walks on into the other room and leaves the
door open. Immediately, the Terranera from the other room
runs into this room, clear past Giles and runs toward the
open door en disappears again. Giles sneaks into the
Moonstone room. He moves swiftly through the shadows towards
the group of hostages around the guard who is now checking
the entrance for his mate. Giles sneak toward the tied down
group of hostages. He crawls toward the teacher.
GILES (CONT'D)
I'm sorry I can't safe you all...
but it's really important that one
Amanda is freed.
TEACHER
Will you come back for the others?
GILES
I won't, but others are working on
it. Amanda?
The teacher points at her. Giles hurries on, checking on the
guard regularly. Amanda is tied with her back to a man.
GILES (CONT'D)
Hey, you must be Amanda... I'm here
to get you out, but you must be
really quiet.

He unties her, but as he does, the other man is also freed.
The other man gets up and turns around; it's Corbin.
GILES (CONT'D)
I'm sorry; I can't help you... you
shouldn't come... it'll be too
dangerous.
Corbin merely smirks and punches Giles. Giles stumbles and
falls back and makes enough noise for the guard to notice.
Corbin immediatly gets to running as the guard approaches
them.
GILES (CONT'D)
Run, Amanda. Run!
Amanda gets to running too and the guard follows her and
Corbin, but Giles makes him trip.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Corbin runs into another room and promptly bumps into Angel,
who's standing next to the dead body of a Terranera guard.
Angel picks up Corbin by his coat. The two men stare at each
other for a moment.
ANGEL
Well that figures. You working for
the Raspinatza... Also figures how
they didn't think you were
important enough to make a deal.
CORBIN FRIES
Angel... I'm quite surprised to see
you here. I'd love to stay and
chat, but I sort of have to escape
a bunch of hostage takers.
ANGEL
You're not going anywhere.
CORBIN FRIES
I really think I should... these
are particularly brutal hostage
takers... they're even holding
kids... can you believe that?
Angel punches Corbin.
CORBIN FRIES (CONT'D)
Apprehend me now, but I think
you'll want to focus that lil' girl
your guy was trying to free... I
think the guard caught up with her
in the last room.

Angel walks past Corbin towards the other room. Corbin gets
up and runs away.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Angel enters the room where he sees indeed the guard has
caught Amanda.
ANGEL
Let her go... let's work this out
one on one.
Suddenly, from the rooms adjacent a few more Terranera clan
members enter the room, one of them holding Giles. One of
them is a lieutenant.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
Well, Angel... isn't this a
predicament you got yourself into.
Suddenly, as Angel is about to speak, Spike comes barging in,
holding Corbin.
SPIKE
You can say that again. Looks like
we've got ourself a three-way stand
off. Raspinatza's got one of yours,
you got two of ours, and we've got
one of the Raspinatza.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
(Smirking.)
Well, perhaps that will make
negotiations a bit easier for
mister Gunn. For now, we'll let the
other hostages go.
FADE TO:
EXT. RASPANITZA HOTEL - DUSK
The hotel is looking busy yet calm like nothing out of the
ordinary is going on.
FADE TO:
INT. RASPANITZA HOTEL - DUSK
Gunn and Anne once again enter the hotel and head straight to
the counter, past the queue.
RECEPTIONIST
Excuse me sir, you have to wait in
line.

GUNN
Don't have time for etiquette. Keys
to room 101... please.
Reluctantly, the receptionist hands them over and Gunn and
Anne make way for the room.
CUT TO:
INT. ROOM 101 - DUSK
The moment Gunn and Anne enter the bookcase already swings
open with the Elder walking out.
RASPINATZA ELDER
This is a hotel mister Gunn. It may
be a front, but we still have every
intention of making our guests
happy. Your rudeness towards them
will be noted, mind you.
GUNN
Yeah, whatever. I didn't come here
to socialise with your guests; I
came here to make a deal.
RASPINATZA ELDER
I told you; we have no interest in
making a deal.
ANNE
The situation has evolved somewhat,
which makes new negotiations
viable. Corbin is now in our hands.
While the Terranera hold two of
ours.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Very interesting miss Steele, but
really none of our concern.
GUNN
Oh, but I think it is. See, if you
don't release Xavier, the Terranera
will keep our people, and we don't
want that.
ANNE
Moreover, if the Terranera keep our
people, we can't release Corbin and
you don't want that.
GUNN
In other words, there's a three-way
exchange going to take place. If
one party backs out on it.

It will have the two other parties
out for it. Neither you nor the
Terranera are strong enough to
withstand a full assault by two
groups. So, there's really no
saying no to this deal.
RASPINATZA ELDER
What about you? Angel
Investigations might be able to
withstand both of us with a lot of
luck or the help of friends. How
will we know you will keep your
word.
GUNN
Cause we're the good guys, we
always keep our word.
The Raspinatza Elder smiles a crooked smile and Gunn hands
him over an envelope.
GUNN (CONT'D)
Contains the details of the
exchange.
FADE TO BLACK.
ACT IV
EXT. DARK BACK-ALLEY - NIGHT
Angel, Spike and Corbin are standing in at the T-split of an
alleyway waiting around. They appear to be alone.
CORBIN FRIES
Well, well, what an exciting day.
Did you wake up this morning and
realise what an exciting day it was
gonna be today?
Angel sighs.
CORBIN FRIES (CONT'D)
I s'pose that means you didn't. I
sure didn't either. When I imagined
what my day was gonna be like, I
never would've imagined getting
captured by an enemy clan much less
getting rescued by you. Funny, you
should be the one to set me free...
bet there's nothing more you'd want
then to lock me up, right?
ANGEL
Actually, there's one thing.
That shuts Corbin right up.
29.
Then from another alley the Raspinatza Elder and another
Raspinatza demon holding Xavier close in. They stop at a
reasonable distance. While from another alley four more
figures close in. They also stop at some distance. They're
the Terranera Lieutenant, Giles, Amanda, and Drogyn.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
Okay, lets do this. All hostages
just simply move to the right
group.
And so slowly and carefully Giles, Amanda, Xavier, and Corbin
move to the appropriate places.
XAVIER
(To Drogyn)
You did well.
ANGEL
Next time, I'll make sure he won't.
CORBIN FRIES
He didn't do well... just luck.
SPIKE
Oh sock it, will you? You're just
bloody jealous you didn't think of
such a grand scheme yourself.
DROGYN
Why thank you. Never thought you'd
appreciate my planning skills.
RASPINATZA ELDER
You're a fool to take pride in a
mere vampire's praise.
Everybody seems ready to snap back at this, but then...
ANGEL
Enough!... We managed to end a
difficult situation like today in a
way that everybody can go home
feeling happy about. I suggest we
all do. It would not suit any of us
to end of going to war because of
this childish bickering.
XAVIER
Fair enough. We've all done enough
for today... I'm sure we'll not
evade each other for too long.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Very well, another day it is.
30.
At this they walk off in different directions. Last ones
standing are Angel, Xavier, and the Raspinatza Elder, who are
exchanging looks in silence for a brief moment and then turn
away and leave too.
FADE TO:
INT. AI OFFICE HALL - NIGHT
Angel, Spike, Giles, and Amanda exit the lift and enter the
hall, where Jill, Nina, Gunn, Anne, and Chyou are already
waiting. Amanda runs into Jill's arms and the two hug.
CHYOU
Everything went alright then?
ANGEL
Yeah, job well done everyone.
GUNN
Yeah, though I must say I'm not
feeling particularly happy.
SPIKE
Why not, mate?
GUNN
Well, we certainly did alright, but
this whole situation did make me
realise what an extremely explosive
situation we're in with these clans
and all.
ANGEL
You're absolutely right, but we're
managing and for the moment we have
the upper hand. Neither of them are
gonna try to take over any time
soon, we just got to be prepared
that when the moment comes that
they do, we'll be waiting to take
them down.
They all nod.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
I'll see you all in the morning.
(To Giles)
You wanna step into my office for a
nightcap?
GILES
Sure.
SPIKE
Yeah, thanks mate.

ANGEL
I didn't ask you, Spike.
SPIKE
I know... but I still answered.
Spike walks into Angel's office and the other two join him,
while everyone save for Jill, Amanda, and Nina leave.
NINA
Well, that was a scary day.
JILL
You can say that again. Say Amanda,
why don't you go wait by the
elevator.
Amanda does so.
NINA
Something wrong?
JILL
You figure?... Because of your
boyfriend my daughter got
kidnapped. Yes, there is something
wrong Nina... something very wrong.
You're young, you're free, you can
afford to risk things; I've got a
kid; I can't afford that. So, Nina,
you're my sister and I love you,
but stay out of my life.
Nina looks shocked and a tear rolls over her face; Jill is
crying too. Jill kisses Nina on her forehead and then walks
away.
CUT TO:
INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY
Angel, Spike, and Giles are sitting in the comfy chairs
drinking Scotch.
GILES
So, fighting demon clans; is that
what it's like in L.A. these days?
SPIKE
Most of the time.
GILES
I imagined it'd be different after
Wolfram & Hart left, but... I guess
in a way it's not that different
after all; just a bit smaller.

ANGEL
You know this game... it's never
different. So, you heading back to
London soon?
GILES
No, actually... I've got one more
stop to make.

The indicator shows us that the elevator is rising. When the
indicator reaches our level it stops. The bell rings with a
familiar TING. The doors slowly open a little bit, but before
we can see who's inside, we...

P.O.V.
The person from the elevator is walking through the hall,
looking around. Then approaches the door to Angel's office,
and enters.
INT. AI OFFICE HALL - DAY (CONT'D)
Angel is sitting in his chair, which is turned the other with
its back to us, as he's on the phone.
ANGEL (ON THE PHONE)
Sure, that seems like a plan, good
work Curtis... Yeah, okay erm,
(Very uncomfortably.)
Peace out homey...
(A beat.)
Right... just goodbye.
Angel puts the phone down and turns around to us in his big
chair, and looks up surprised at the person standing before
him.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
(Suspiscious.)
You?
REVERSE P.O.V.
GILES is standing in Angel's office.
FADE TO:
INT. FACTORY - NIGHT
SUBTITLE:
The night before.
Xavier, with two demon BODYGUARDS walks into a large open
space in a factory, machine is softly roaring in the
background. He is approached by a nervous looking human man,
who's carrying a briefcase.

XAVIER
You got what we need?
NERVOUS MAN
Y-Yeah... it's all here, do you
have it too?
XAVIER
What's the matter? You look a bit
nervous.
NERVOUS MAN
I'm n-not nervous...
(Tries to smile,
unconvincingly)
Why would I be?
XAVIER
Men, load your crossbows.
The bodyguards do as Xavier says, but suddenly, from all
around Raspinatza demons step out of the shadows. The
bodyguards put their crossbows on the ground. One of the
Elders steps toward him from not too far behind the nervous
man.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Well, well. Xavier of the Terranera
clan. You've been thwarting some of
our business-plans for quite some
time now. An-
NERVOUS MAN
Look, I did my job... can I go now?
RASPINATZA ELDER
Yes, you can... to hell.
As the Elder say this the nervous man turns around and look
at him, afraid, at this moment, half of the Raspinatza demons
shoot their arrows at them. And with about ten arrows in his
chest he drops dead. The Elder steps over his body, toward
Xavier.
RASPINATZA ELDER (CONT'D)
Worthless...
(Turns to Xavier again.)
Your men can go. They are to tell
your clan to disarm and leave this
city. They are to hand their
artefacts and weapons over to us...
in return, they will get their
leader back.
(To his soldiers.)
Take him away.
3.
One of Raspinatza demons shoot an arrow at Xavier, which hits
him in the arm. He becomes drowsy and fall down unconscious.
The two bodyguards watch as some other Raspinatza collect
Xavier and carry him off.

Some van is parked across the street from it. Suddenly, a
limousine pulls up in front of it.

INT. CORBIN'S OFFICE - NIGHT
The office is small; it's a bit like Angel's office from
season 1. Corbin Fries is sitting in a chair; he's on the
phone.
CORBIN FRIES
Right, so I'll have to go the
museum myself and check everything
out... Yes, I'll be able to get a
spycam... Right, I'll send the tape
to you. Yes, bye.
He hangs up. And looks up at the door opening. The Raspinatza
Elder is standing in it.

RASPINATZA ELDER
Well?
CORBIN FRIES
Our operative has gotten hold of
the maps and the security routes
and everything, but requested I
take a tour around the museum, tape
everything I see, before the hit,
to get an idea what it looks like
for real.
RASPINATZA ELDER
You are sure, the operative will
succeed in obtaining the item.
CORBIN FRIES
More than sure. She is... gifted.
ZOOM IN.
On bunch of flowers on Corbin's desk, how cliché, there is a
microphone in them.
CUT TO:
EXT. OFFICE BUILDING - NIGHT
The limousine is still parked in front of the building, as
the van slowly pulls up and drives off.
FADE TO:
INT. ABANDONNED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
An assortment of demons is yelling at each other or talking
loudly and passionately, as Xavier's two bodyguards stand by
watching them. Drogyn enters the hall, but nobody seems to
notice.
DROGYN
(Angry.)
SILENCE!
Suddenly, all the demons shut up, and look at Drogyn,
surprised.
DROGYN (CONT'D)
All this dumb bickering is going to
get you your leader back. I... have
a plan though.
One of the TERRANERA LIEAUTENANTs steps towards him.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
Who put you in charge?

DROGYN
You did!...
(A beat.)
By being such a complete idiot, you
leave me no choice, but to take
this matter into my own hands.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
(Scoffs.)
Why would I ever want to trust you!
DROGYN
They...
(Pointing at the other
Lieutenants.)
Have to trust me because Xavier
does. And I'm sure they can figure
out, that without weapons and your
support it'll be much more
difficult for me to exact my
revenge on Angel, so they'll all
realise that I want to get Xavier
back, just as much as you do. You
however, don't have to trust me.
(Smiles at him friendly.)
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
And why's that?
DROGYN
(Still smiling.)
Because unfortunately for you, it's
time for a little natural selection
amongst the rank of lieutenant.
Drogyn's smile instantly fades as he punches the demon
through his stomach. We hear the demon drop to the ground, as
the shot establishes on Drogyn.
DROGYN (CONT'D)
An important agent of the
Raspinatza clan is going to visit
the museum of natural science
tomorrow... We're going to take him
and his whole damn tour-group
hostage.
OTHER LIEUTENANT
Why the whole group? Wouldn't that
attract more attention.
DROGYN
(Begins to grin.)
I have my reasons.
FADE TO:

EXT. JILL ASH' HOUSE - MORNING
The front-door opens and AMANDA (Nina's niece) runs out, her
mother JILL (Nina's sister) follows her.
JILL
Honey, you forgot your lunch!
Amanda runs back to her mother and takes the lunch.
JILL (CONT'D)
I know you're excited about the
school trip honey.
Amanda nods enthusiastically.
JILL (CONT'D)
Well, go on then, have fun at the
museum...
At this Amanda runs off to the schoolbus as Jill waves her
off.
FADE TO:
INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY
ANGEL
You?
Angel and Giles staring each other in the eyes.
GILES
Hello, Angel.
A beat.
ANGEL
Why?
GILES
To apologise, I was wr-
ANGEL
(Stern.)
I know that... why did you do it?
GILES
(Sighs.)
We believed you had crossed over,
that you were working for them...
for real. We believed it might make
you realise-...

ANGEL
You though I might turn to working
for the good guys again, by taking
away the thing that initially got
me working for you in the first
place.
GILES
Like I said, it was wrong... I was
wrong.
ANGEL
(Angry.)
Damn straight you were wrong.
GILES
And I offer my sincere apologies. I
made an error in judgement. It
doesn't happen very often, but it
did. I hope you'll be able to
forgive me, if not... at least
forgive the Council. Allow me to
resign and someone else to take my

ANGEL
Don't tell me that. I don't care
about the Council.
GILES
But th-
ANGEL
I care about someone I thought I
could consider a friend... who then
betrayed my trust... That really
hurts.
GILES
(Sighs.)
Yes, I s'pose that's a fair way of
looking at it.
ANGEL
I know we need the Council, and I'm
guessing the Council needs us, but
what neither of us need is this
mistrust. What both of us need is
friends out there.
GILES
(Sad.)
Oh, I know... all too well. Last
year, we thought we had lost one.
But only when we acted as if we
had, did we... or I really lose
some... Do... How-..

ANGEL
She's doing fine... They all are.
GILES
Thanks... I'm glad we, erm...
ANGEL
Yeah, I'm glad too.
Both look rather relieved. Angel gets up and offers Giles a
seat in his comfy chairs.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
Drink?
GILES
Thee, please?
Angel walks out of the office for a second and comes back
with a cup, Giles look up at how fast he is.
ANGEL
The guy from archives will get a
new one. I hope he puts the same
into it a you do.
Giles takes the cup and Angel sits down next to him in the
other comfy chair.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
So, how's... business?
GILES
We're steadily expanding. By now
more than two thirds of all Slayers
have been assigned a watcher. But
inside the Council there's still
considerable struggle between
liberals like myself and
conservatives... it's a slow
process, but I think we'll get
there. You?
ANGEL
We got everything pretty well under
control. There are a few groups of
demons, clans, that want a piece of
the pie that's L.A. post-Wolfram &
Hart, but we've been able to get
most pieces ourselves, we have a
very able staff. It's just a pity
that the Council keeps snatching
all knowledgable people to become
watcher; so, we do still need
someone to head our research
department.

GILES
Yes, we do have a hand of that. If
ever you need intelligence; we've
got a wealth of information that,
since we're on the same side, we're
more than willing to share.
ANGEL
Thanks, I erm might just take you

INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
A group is touring the museum, guided by a female TOUR-GUIDE.
The group consists of a group of school-children and their
teacher, amongst which Amanda, a couple of tourists, and
Corbin Fries.
TOUR-GUIDE
That concludes this section. Now,
if you'll follow me into the next
room.
They walk on to the next room.
INT. MUSEUM MOONSTONE ROOM - DAY
The room is rather dark... in the middle in a small piece of
rock surrounded on a pedestal in a glass cage. The group
gather in the center of the room, which is surrounded by tall
pillars.
TOUR-GUIDE
This piece of rock, may look very
special, but it's actually from the
moon.
The group of kids goes wow, but Corbin looks unimpressed
rather he is look all round him in the room, while playing
with his tie.
ZOOM IN:
On Corbin's tie, a tiny spy camera is hidden in it.

ZOOM OUT.
AMANDA
My aunt is scared of the moon; the
moon isn't dangerous, is it?
TOUR-GUIDE
No, of course it isn't. In ancient
time people believed that the moon
has strange magical powers, but
today we know that that's all silly
nonsense.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT (O.S.)
I tend to disagree.
The Tour-guide turns around and see the demon standing
between the pillars on the other side of the room; she
shrieks and so do some of the girls. Corbin immediately gets
to running, as from the other side more demons storm into the
room.
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY (CONT'D)
Corbin runs into the next room, but from a couple of demon
crash into the windows from outside, when they land and spot
Corbin they run after him. He runs away, but bumps into
another demon as he leaves the room. The demon grabs him and
escorts him back to the Moonstone room.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM MOONSTONE ROOM - DAY
Corbin is pushed back with the other hostages, who are being
held at crossbow and gun-point by the different demons of the
Terranera-clan. The lieutenant is talking on his cellphone.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT (ON THE PHONE)
Yeah, we have all of them.
DROGYN (V.O.) (ON THE PHONE)
Let the games begin.
FADE TO:
INT. ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS LOBBY - DAY
The elevator reaches the lobby, the doors open, and Gunn gets
out.
ANNE (O.S.)
Charles!
From one of the hallways Anne walks toward Gunn and gives him
a hug.

ANNE (CONT'D)
Welcome back, how was your trip?
They slowly start walking toward Angel's office.
GUNN
It was good. Primarily business,
but I also got to spend some time
with them... it was interesting to
see how they live and work and all.
ANNE
I'll bet. How was Buffy?
GUNN
She was... good.
ANNE
Well, you've got to tell me all
about it.
GUNN
I will. It's just I heard some
pretty disturbing news on the way
in.
They enter Angel's office, to find Giles and Angel laughing.
GUNN (CONT'D)
Oh, sorry, didn't mean to
interrupt.
ANGEL
No, it's fine... erm
Angel gets up.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
Gunn, Anne; meet Rupert Giles, head
of the Watcher's Council. Giles,
these are the heads of the Angel
Investigations legal and charity
department, Charles Gunn, and the
ever-lovely Anne Steele.
GILES
Nice to meet you.
They shake hands, but Gunn looks a bit suspicious and gives
Angel a confused look, to which Angel smiles comfortingly.
ANGEL
So, how was Edmonsville?
GILES
You went there?

Yeah, it was good; they were all

The hostage takers were reportedly
dressed in Halloween costumes to
make them unrecognisable, the all
looked like monsters...
ANGEL
Right, Gunn, you get down there
now, check what the situation is
and convince the police not to take
any action... tell them
reinforcement's on the way.
GUNN
Gotcha, what are you-
ANGEL
White Room... could you page Spike
to get there too?
GUNN
I'm on it.
Angel prepares to walk off.
ANNE
What about me? Can't I help?
Angel takes a look at Gunn.
ANGEL
Go with him.
Anne and Gunn walk off. Giles gives Angel a questioning look.

ANGEL (CONT'D)
Alright, you can come with me.
CUT TO:
INT. WHITE ROOM - DAY
Angel and Giles enter the white room, where Hamilton with a
bowl of popcorn on his lap is watching American Football. He
makes an "ooohh" sound one of the players get's tackled. Than
he sees them; hastily, he puts away the popcorn and switched
the channel to the local news.
HAMILTON
Terrible isn't it, a group of
school children taken hostage?
ANGEL
I can see you're really touched.
What's the score on this one?
HAMILTON
Lakers leading by 20.
PS: Can someone confirm the Lakers are an American Football
team, and leading by twenty is a reasonable score?!?
ANGEL
I mean on the hostage situation.
HAMILTON
Oh, right. No, I can't.
ANGEL
What do you mean you can't?
HAMILTON
There's some strange uninvited guy
in here, and as you know, I'm not
allowed to talk to stranger...
besides, I'm very shy you know.
ANGEL
Well, let me introduce you to
Rupert Giles, head of the Watcher's
Council. I invited him and now
you're not strangers anymore, so
talk!
Hamilton and Giles shake heads. Suddenly, Spike materialises.
Giles and Spike look at each other with faces that read I
certainly wasn't expecting this.
SPIKE
Bloody hell, I certainly wasn't
expecting this.

HAMILTON
(To Spike, mockingly)
He's Council... very important man.
GILES
Hello Spike, it's been a while.
SPIKE
Yeah, it has... A lot's changed.
Spike looks to Angel, questioningly.
ANGEL
It's okay.
HAMILTON
Yeah, okay, we've all seen mister
Watcher here now. Can we just get
back to business?
ANGEL
Just, Giles, this is Marcus
Hamilton. He erm, used to work for
Wolfram & Hart, but he's now sort
of employed by the Powers...
because he betrayed them in the
past.
(Thinks about what he just
said.)
The Powers work in mysterious ways,
that's for sure.
GILES
Hmm, Marcus Hamilton. I've heard of
you.
HAMILTON
I bet you have...
(Proudly.)
I was quite notorious back in the
days.
GILES
Actually, I remember this one story
about plain robbery. You and a
partner robbed a rich Lord that
lived in a castle near a small
village Canton. You tried to get
away with horse and carriage, but
the roads were too muddy and you
were too heavy. First, you pushed
your partner off, because you
wanted to keep the gold. That
didn't work and when you got to the
village you threw away the gold...

through the mud and you had created
enough distraction to stop the
chasing party. The villagers kept
the money and you became a genuine
hero once again. Notorious indeed.
Angel and Spike laugh at the story, while Hamilton stands
there a bit embarrassed.
HAMILTON
Well... we learn from our mistakes.
Angel and Spike continue laughing.
HAMILTON (CONT'D)
(Angered.)
Alright, that's about enough.
ANGEL
Sure, let's all be silent, for the
Hero of Canton is about to speak.
HAMILTON
(Angry.)
Oh, shut up already... it's bad
enough I have to miss part of the
game! What do you want to know?
ANGEL
The museum, what's going down
there? Why such a big and public
attack?
Hamilton closes his eyes and says nothing for a minute; the
others look at him confused.
HAMILTON
Alright, here's what the Powers
said. Raspinatza-clan is holding
the leader of the Terranera-clan
hostage; apparently, some important
Raspinatza is at the museum and the
Terranera took him. They probably
want an exchange.
ANGEL
I guess we don't really have to do
anything about it then. They'll get
their exchange, everything goes
away?
HAMILTON
Actually, it is your business, not
only are the lives of innocents at
stake, if the two of them don't
manage to settle this... well, they
may resort to an all-out war.

ANGEL
Should have figured.
(To Spike.)
We're gonna try this the diplomatic
way, but make sure that if we need
to we'll be ready to strike.
He turns to Spike.
SPIKE
Right, I'll see if there are any
shadowed entrances and check
blueprints and stuff...
(To Giles.)
Department-head stuff, you know.
Notices Angel's annoyed look.
SPIKE (CONT'D)
Right, meet me in the lab in
thirty.
ANGEL
We well. First, let's check up on
Gunn.
FADE TO:
EXT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
LAPD has surrounded the building and are keeping the public
at a distance. There are snipers on the rooftops of buildings
across the street from the museum. Gunn and Anne try to worm
a way through the crowd. Finally, the reach the corridor, the
adress a police OFFICER there.
GUNN
Excuse me, officer, I need to speak
to whoever's in charge here.
OFFICER
I don't think so; look, there'll be
press-conference pretty soon I
think, you'll have to wait.
GUNN
No, you don't understand, I'm not
with the press.
OFFICER
Oh, right. If you believe any
friends or family-members are
inside, you should report with that
man over there.
GUNN
No, I'm not a civilian either.

From behind the officer, the police CHIEF joins them.
CHIEF
What's going on here; get these
people out of here.
OFFICER
They claim to have business with
you.
The Chief looks at them a bit surprised.
GUNN
We're here to help you with the
situation.
CHIEF
Well, I don't know who you are, but
this is my jurisdiction.
A police SERGEANT walks up to the chief.
SERGEANT
Sir, I just got a call from
Washington, a General Finn is
sending over two of his best men;
we are to stand down until they
arrive and follow their every
command.
They both look at Anne and Gunn.
GUNN
That's us.
SERGEANT
Wow, I didn't expect to see you
this soon; I got the impression
it'd take you hours to get here.
Gunn and Anne climb over the corridor and walk off with the
Chief and the Sergeant.
FADE TO BLACK.
ACT III
FADE TO:
EXT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Gunn and Anne slowly approach the museum, a few feet from the
door they stop.
GUNN
I'm Charles Gunn, I represent Angel
Investigations.

We'd like to talk to you, we want
to know what's going on and how we
can help.
Slowly, the front door opens a slight bit, Gunn and Anne can
look in a bit and see the Lieutenant, but the door isn't
opened enough to allow police or press to look in.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
Raspinatza has our leader. We now
have one of them.
GUNN
Alright, but why not silently
retreat from the museum; let go of
the civilians.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
We will... if you'll negotiate for
us.
GUNN
What?!
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
We'll we sort of have our hands
full. We want a simple exchange, of
our theirs for one of ours.
GUNN
Aren't you at least going to tell
me who you have?
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
They know... Good luck.
The door closes again and Gunn looks at Anne, a bit confused
about what just happened. As they walk off, Gunn flips open
his cellphone.
FADE TO:
INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY
Angel and Giles are in Angel's office; Angel is just putting
the phone down.
GILES
Well?
ANGEL
They want us to negotiate; so, I
told Gunn and Anne to get to the
Raspinatza hotel to negotiate.
GILES
And in the mean time?

ANGEL
Well, we wait.
Nina enters.
NINA
Hi, honey.
(Notices Giles.)
Oh, sorry. I thought you had not
appointments today.
ANGEL
It's okay, Nina, this is Rupert
Giles an old... friend. Giles, this
is my girlfriend, Nina Ash.
GILES
How do you do?
NINA
A polite gentleman, we really ought
to have more of those around.
ANGEL
Has Spike been bothering you again?
NINA
Nah, it's okay. So, anything
interesting up?
ANGEL
Yeah, we got a hostage situation.
Terranera-clan has decided to take
a guided tour group of the Museum
of Natural Science hostage, cause
one of them was a Raspinatza
member.
Nina stops dead in her track and becomes very pale all of a
sudden.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
What? Nina!?
Nina grabs her cellphone and dials a number. While she waits
for the other person to pick up the phone, she talks to
Angel.
NINA
Jody told me Amanda was going to
the museum today on a school trip.
And in class just now, I got a call
from her; I couldn't answer, but-
(The other side answers.)
Jody, it's me, Nina.... Yeah, I've
he- Now, calm down Jody, it's all
gonna be ok-...

I know, look I told you my
boyfriend does an important job;
well, this is one of the things he
takes care of.... Yes, I'm going to
make sure he's on top of it. Okay,
you come over here. Okay, I'll see
you soon, bye.
(Turns to Angel.)
Amanda is in there.
ANGEL
Gunn is on his way to negotiate.
We'll get down there right now.
You'll take care of Jodi?
Nina nods silently as Angel leaves and gestures Giles to
follow him.
FADE TO:
INT. RASPANITZA HOTEL - DAY
The hotel is as usual buzzing with people, Gunn and Anne
enter it cautiously, but notice that all the people there are
normal humans. They stare up at the strange architecture and
the patterns featuring demons, the realise, but just exotic
creatures to the other humans. Gunn and Anne walk up to the
friendly smiling human receptionist.
RECEPTIONIST
Yes?
GUNN
We're here to talk to the
Raspinatza.
RECEPTIONIST
Yes? How may I help you.
GUNN
(Leans forward to
whisper.)
The 'other' Raspinatza. The 'real'
Raspinatza.
The receptionist looks at him a bit estranged.
RECEPTIONIST
That kind of business is not
conducting like this. Obviously,
you've not dealt with them before;
I doubt you will.
GUNN
Tell them Charles Gunn from Angel
Investigation is in the lobby.
They'll deal!

The receptionist hands him over a key.
RECEPTIONIST
Room 101. Give me a minute please.
FADE TO:
INT. ROOM 101 - DAY
Gunn and Anne enter the hotel suite. It's empty but as soon
as they close the door one of the book cases opens and a
secret passage is revealed. The Raspinatza elder from before
walks out.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Mr. Gunn. Ms. Steele.
GUNN
Mr... ?
RASPINATZA ELDER
Talk only of why you're present
here.
GUNN
Alright. Terranera send me. They
have one of yours and you have one
of theirs. They want an exchange,
simple, clean. That's all I know.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Let me think... No. They have
someone who is... replacable.
Besides, we're not scared of them.
They may attack us if they want...
cause I'm quite sure you won't want
that and you'll stop them. No,
they'll have to come up with a
better offer, though I'm afraid
they don't have any.
The Raspinatza Elder resolutely turns around and exits,
leaving Gunn perplexed.
ANNE
He was quick to make his mind up
about that.
GUNN
Yeah, I don't like the game they're
using us in, but we better play
along. Let's brief Angel.
FADE TO:
22.
INT. VAN (OUTSIDE MUSEUM) - DAY
Angel, Spike, and Giles are in the back of the van, which has
all kinds of maps and equipment in it. The back doors open
and as Spike and Angel move away from the light, Gunn and
Anne climb in.
GUNN
They didn't want to make a deal.
ANGEL
So, what are our options?
GUNN
We could maybe offer something as
ours... to keep the peace. But even
then, this stand-off is going to
take a long time.
ANGEL
We don't have a long time.
SPIKE
Howcome?
ANGEL
Nina's niece, Amanda, is in there,
if the Terranera realise who
they've got there's no telling
where this will end.
GUNN
What do you want to do then?
ANGEL
We go in... stealthily. Recover
Amanda. Move out again.
ANNE
You gonna just leave the other
kids?
ANGEL
Yeah. We can't rescue them all
without getting noticed. We'd be
risking their lives, if we tried to
save them all.
Spike raises his hand, Angel nods at him.
SPIKE
I'm guessing stealthily implies I'm
not part of the action?
Angel nods again.

SPIKE (CONT'D)
Bugger.
ANGEL
(To Giles)
You will be though.
GILES
(Surprised)
Me? I'm not exactly a fighter. You
know that.
ANGEL
True, but you can withstand
sunlight and I can't. So, if our
escape route happens to be too
close to windows...
GILES
Right, but don't you have people
who do this?
ANGEL
Well, Gunn could do it, but he'll
be negotiating. And we got to have
our men be prepared in case this
goes awry... This'll be a good
opportunity for you to prove you're
sincere.
GILES
Fair enough. I'll go.
FADE TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE BACK ENTRANCE - DAY
The door bursts open and Angel and Spike run in, followed by
Giles who walks casually. Angel and Spike dust of some of the
ash from the burns of their coats.
ANGEL
Alright Spike, you stay here. If
you hear us making a ruckus you can
get in. Otherwise, just wait!
SPIKE
Alright mate, I got it.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Angel and Giles creep through one of the rooms. They spot one
of the Terranera patrolling the halls.

They lurk in the shadows and watch him leave, as soon as he
has they creep onwards. When they have left another Terranera
comes forward from the shadows.
TERRANERA
(Into a walkie-talkie)
The plan is in motion... but
Angel's brought someone other than
Spike.
FADE TO:
INT. MUSEUM MOONSTONE ROOM - DAY
Angel and Giles peek around a corner into the moonstone room
where the hostages are kept. Two Terranera are guarding them.
ANGEL
Okay, here's what we do. You hide
around the corner here. I'll lure
one of them out with some
distraction. You can sneak past the
other.
GILES
Right.
Giles does as Angel asks and Angel goes to the other end of
the room where he pushes over some promotional cardboard cut
out of a rock. He walks on into the other room and leaves the
door open. Immediately, the Terranera from the other room
runs into this room, clear past Giles and runs toward the
open door en disappears again. Giles sneaks into the
Moonstone room. He moves swiftly through the shadows towards
the group of hostages around the guard who is now checking
the entrance for his mate. Giles sneak toward the tied down
group of hostages. He crawls toward the teacher.
GILES (CONT'D)
I'm sorry I can't safe you all...
but it's really important that one
Amanda is freed.
TEACHER
Will you come back for the others?
GILES
I won't, but others are working on
it. Amanda?
The teacher points at her. Giles hurries on, checking on the
guard regularly. Amanda is tied with her back to a man.
GILES (CONT'D)
Hey, you must be Amanda... I'm here
to get you out, but you must be
really quiet.

He unties her, but as he does, the other man is also freed.
The other man gets up and turns around; it's Corbin.
GILES (CONT'D)
I'm sorry; I can't help you... you
shouldn't come... it'll be too
dangerous.
Corbin merely smirks and punches Giles. Giles stumbles and
falls back and makes enough noise for the guard to notice.
Corbin immediatly gets to running as the guard approaches
them.
GILES (CONT'D)
Run, Amanda. Run!
Amanda gets to running too and the guard follows her and
Corbin, but Giles makes him trip.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Corbin runs into another room and promptly bumps into Angel,
who's standing next to the dead body of a Terranera guard.
Angel picks up Corbin by his coat. The two men stare at each
other for a moment.
ANGEL
Well that figures. You working for
the Raspinatza... Also figures how
they didn't think you were
important enough to make a deal.
CORBIN FRIES
Angel... I'm quite surprised to see
you here. I'd love to stay and
chat, but I sort of have to escape
a bunch of hostage takers.
ANGEL
You're not going anywhere.
CORBIN FRIES
I really think I should... these
are particularly brutal hostage
takers... they're even holding
kids... can you believe that?
Angel punches Corbin.
CORBIN FRIES (CONT'D)
Apprehend me now, but I think
you'll want to focus that lil' girl
your guy was trying to free... I
think the guard caught up with her
in the last room.
26.
Angel walks past Corbin towards the other room. Corbin gets
up and runs away.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - DAY
Angel enters the room where he sees indeed the guard has
caught Amanda.
ANGEL
Let her go... let's work this out
one on one.
Suddenly, from the rooms adjacent a few more Terranera clan
members enter the room, one of them holding Giles. One of
them is a lieutenant.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
Well, Angel... isn't this a
predicament you got yourself into.
Suddenly, as Angel is about to speak, Spike comes barging in,
holding Corbin.
SPIKE
You can say that again. Looks like
we've got ourself a three-way stand
off. Raspinatza's got one of yours,
you got two of ours, and we've got
one of the Raspinatza.
TERRANERA LIEUTENANT
(Smirking.)
Well, perhaps that will make
negotiations a bit easier for
mister Gunn. For now, we'll let the
other hostages go.
FADE TO:
EXT. RASPANITZA HOTEL - DUSK
The hotel is looking busy yet calm like nothing out of the
ordinary is going on.
FADE TO:
INT. RASPANITZA HOTEL - DUSK
Gunn and Anne once again enter the hotel and head straight to
the counter, past the queue.
RECEPTIONIST
Excuse me sir, you have to wait in
line.

GUNN
Don't have time for etiquette. Keys
to room 101... please.
Reluctantly, the receptionist hands them over and Gunn and
Anne make way for the room.
CUT TO:
INT. ROOM 101 - DUSK
The moment Gunn and Anne enter the bookcase already swings
open with the Elder walking out.
RASPINATZA ELDER
This is a hotel mister Gunn. It may
be a front, but we still have every
intention of making our guests
happy. Your rudeness towards them
will be noted, mind you.
GUNN
Yeah, whatever. I didn't come here
to socialise with your guests; I
came here to make a deal.
RASPINATZA ELDER
I told you; we have no interest in
making a deal.
ANNE
The situation has evolved somewhat,
which makes new negotiations
viable. Corbin is now in our hands.
While the Terranera hold two of
ours.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Very interesting miss Steele, but
really none of our concern.
GUNN
Oh, but I think it is. See, if you
don't release Xavier, the Terranera
will keep our people, and we don't
want that.
ANNE
Moreover, if the Terranera keep our
people, we can't release Corbin and
you don't want that.
GUNN
In other words, there's a three-way
exchange going to take place. If
one party backs out on it.

It will have the two other parties
out for it. Neither you nor the
Terranera are strong enough to
withstand a full assault by two
groups. So, there's really no
saying no to this deal.
RASPINATZA ELDER
What about you? Angel
Investigations might be able to
withstand both of us with a lot of
luck or the help of friends. How
will we know you will keep your
word.
GUNN
Cause we're the good guys, we
always keep our word.
The Raspinatza Elder smiles a crooked smile and Gunn hands
him over an envelope.
GUNN (CONT'D)
Contains the details of the
exchange.
FADE TO BLACK.
ACT IV
EXT. DARK BACK-ALLEY - NIGHT
Angel, Spike and Corbin are standing in at the T-split of an
alleyway waiting around. They appear to be alone.
CORBIN FRIES
Well, well, what an exciting day.
Did you wake up this morning and
realise what an exciting day it was
gonna be today?
Angel sighs.
CORBIN FRIES (CONT'D)
I s'pose that means you didn't. I
sure didn't either. When I imagined
what my day was gonna be like, I
never would've imagined getting
captured by an enemy clan much less
getting rescued by you. Funny, you
should be the one to set me free...
bet there's nothing more you'd want
then to lock me up, right?
ANGEL
Actually, there's one thing.
That shuts Corbin right up.
29.
Then from another alley the Raspinatza Elder and another
Raspinatza demon holding Xavier close in. They stop at a
reasonable distance. While from another alley four more
figures close in. They also stop at some distance. They're
the Terranera Lieutenant, Giles, Amanda, and Drogyn.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
Okay, lets do this. All hostages
just simply move to the right
group.
And so slowly and carefully Giles, Amanda, Xavier, and Corbin
move to the appropriate places.
XAVIER
(To Drogyn)
You did well.
ANGEL
Next time, I'll make sure he won't.
CORBIN FRIES
He didn't do well... just luck.
SPIKE
Oh sock it, will you? You're just
bloody jealous you didn't think of
such a grand scheme yourself.
DROGYN
Why thank you. Never thought you'd
appreciate my planning skills.
RASPINATZA ELDER
You're a fool to take pride in a
mere vampire's praise.
Everybody seems ready to snap back at this, but then...
ANGEL
Enough!... We managed to end a
difficult situation like today in a
way that everybody can go home
feeling happy about. I suggest we
all do. It would not suit any of us
to end of going to war because of
this childish bickering.
XAVIER
Fair enough. We've all done enough
for today... I'm sure we'll not
evade each other for too long.
RASPINATZA ELDER
Very well, another day it is.

At this they walk off in different directions. Last ones
standing are Angel, Xavier, and the Raspinatza Elder, who are
exchanging looks in silence for a brief moment and then turn
away and leave too.
FADE TO:
INT. AI OFFICE HALL - NIGHT
Angel, Spike, Giles, and Amanda exit the lift and enter the
hall, where Jill, Nina, Gunn, Anne, and Chyou are already
waiting. Amanda runs into Jill's arms and the two hug.
CHYOU
Everything went alright then?
ANGEL
Yeah, job well done everyone.
GUNN
Yeah, though I must say I'm not
feeling particularly happy.
SPIKE
Why not, mate?
GUNN
Well, we certainly did alright, but
this whole situation did make me
realise what an extremely explosive
situation we're in with these clans
and all.
ANGEL
You're absolutely right, but we're
managing and for the moment we have
the upper hand. Neither of them are
gonna try to take over any time
soon, we just got to be prepared
that when the moment comes that
they do, we'll be waiting to take
them down.
They all nod.
ANGEL (CONT'D)
I'll see you all in the morning.
(To Giles)
You wanna step into my office for a
nightcap?
GILES
Sure.
SPIKE
Yeah, thanks mate.

ANGEL
I didn't ask you, Spike.
SPIKE
I know... but I still answered.
Spike walks into Angel's office and the other two join him,
while everyone save for Jill, Amanda, and Nina leave.
NINA
Well, that was a scary day.
JILL
You can say that again. Say Amanda,
why don't you go wait by the
elevator.
Amanda does so.
NINA
Something wrong?
JILL
You figure?... Because of your
boyfriend my daughter got
kidnapped. Yes, there is something
wrong Nina... something very wrong.
You're young, you're free, you can
afford to risk things; I've got a
kid; I can't afford that. So, Nina,
you're my sister and I love you,
but stay out of my life.
Nina looks shocked and a tear rolls over her face; Jill is
crying too. Jill kisses Nina on her forehead and then walks
away.
CUT TO:
INT. ANGEL'S OFFICE - DAY
Angel, Spike, and Giles are sitting in the comfy chairs
drinking Scotch.
GILES
So, fighting demon clans; is that
what it's like in L.A. these days?
SPIKE
Most of the time.
GILES
I imagined it'd be different after
Wolfram & Hart left, but... I guess
in a way it's not that different
after all; just a bit smaller.

ANGEL
You know this game... it's never
different. So, you heading back to
London soon?
GILES
No, actually... I've got one more
stop to make.
