Visions and Sight

Drusilla had the sight, Angelus said that she sees what's to come, how does this differ from the visions Cordelia had?

Do you think with Drusilla she was born with it, whereas the visions are given to Cordelia and Doyle?

I think it's made clear that Drusilla had some sort of precognitive ability before Angelus turned her. In...whatever ep that was, lol, that she could tell that Angelus and Darla were bad news. She looks at them like she knows she should be scared and she directs her family away from them.

However, I do think that her 'sight' was a lot different to Cordelia's. Cordy's sight was a direct line from the PTB's to help Angel, so her visions were specific to a certain goal - to save the innocent person.

Drusilla doesn't really seem to have anything like that. It's not specific to anything in particular, she mostly just gets images or 'feelings' that need to be interpreted by Dru herself or someone around her (Spike, Angelus, Darla).

I actually think their sight was the exact same thing. Both women get visions of people in trouble and bad things about to happen, the only difference with Drusilla before she was turned is that she had no one explaining or guiding her through it, she certainly didnt have a champion who could do something about the visions.

What I do find interesting is that when Drusilla turns the visions seem to stop but she becomes precognitive in a general way. She senses feelings and emotions but she also sees what is to happen in the future i.e. Jenny attempting to bring Angel's soul back.

I always thought that Drusilla had something similar to Cassie in season 7, but I do remember reading a theory that she may have been a potential slayer and therefore had some kind of warped version of the prophecy dreams, although i don't particuarly rate this idea.

I also remember someone arguing that Drusilla may have had the visions but again this doesn't seem right to me either, as she never seemed to get the migraines, brain splitting headaches etc.

I always she though she was like Cassie as well, it wasn't so much she'd get hit with a vision, but that she just knew stuff.

There's no evidence that Drusilla's sight had anything to do with the PTBs. The 'Visions' were something specific from the PTBs. It seems there are more than one signal on the celestial pipeline.

I've always viewed the sight as something a bit more...I dunno, scientific I guess. Let me explain, some people are born with an altered, damaged, or overly sensitive temporal lobe (which is a part of the brain). This part of the brain controls sort of the sixth sense, and is responsible for stuff like deja vus, seeing stuff that isn't there, tasting things or smelling things that aren't there etc. Some people actually do have the gift of reading into the future, and I think Dru had more something along those lines. Like something really supernatural, but that is still somewhat explainable. Of course, this is BtVS, so it doesn't really matter, but I saw the sight exactly for what it says, she could see things that others couldn't.

Cordy's vision were again, just vision sent to her by higher beings.

Yes they said that his gift meant he had some kind of intrinsic link to the PTB, although that always seemed a little flimsy to me, bit too convenient

I'm not sure if they were being literal, but I always took that simply because Lorne was psychic, he could trace the souce of a psychic 'signal' for want of a better word.

The way I look at it is that there are 'signals' that operate outside the realm of most humans perception. These signals can be picked by psychics and also sent by psychics. The PTBs are simply one source and anyone with the visions automatically pick up this signal but anyone with psychic powers can hack into the signal, but we don't know the PTBs are the only source of these signals or if someone or something has to send said signal.
