Just wondering why visitor comments/messages aren't used here.

Apparently they were in the past... but they created drama and other issues and the feature was taken away.

Approval of each comment could be put on? 😵 Not sure. 😛 I just like the feature. Meh

Eh, that could work I guess... it's just a feature that the board staff has decided doesn't work for this board. I can see why it would be useful, but I can also see the arguments against it. The official board policy is if you want to have a conversation with someone on the board not in a thread, you should PM them.

That would mean a lot of work for the staff and since we're not online 24/7 it feels impractical :S So sorry but I don't think it'll be a feature that'll appear again any time soon.

1. People were using them like private messages, which is not the purpose of them, takes up server space as there is no way to limit them, and also led to:

2. People were saying things about other members in them, which those members were then seeing and thus:

3. There is no possible way for the moderators to read ALL the visitor messages in the same way they read all the posts on the board, and it would be an extreme waste of their valuable time.

4. This isn't Facebook, it's a place to discuss Buffy and Angel.
