Visitors is written by Laura Anne Gilman and Josepha Sherman and is set in season 3. They seem to be my favorite Buffy authors. They write the dialogue very much as it appears on the show, even if Buffy does on occasion come off a little angry. I loved this particular Giles/Xander moment:

Giles: ''I'm not going to start a lecture about modern music, or young people who've never heard of 'The Who'.''
Xander: ''The What.''
Giles: ''Exactly.''

The only negative in this book s the lack of Angel . He's only in it to give one cryptic message but having Ethan Rayne appear made up for that. The demon was very 'Once More With Feeling' although no one burst into song, they were just made to dance.

Who else has read the book?

I read it not too long ago actually. And you're right; the dialogue etc was very spot on. Like you though, I did find the uber lack of Angel a bit disappointing.

I think this is one of the few novels that doesn't have an uber big bad/apocalypse thing/big battle at the end in it either. It's just an ordinary demon-of-the-week story (with a few red herrings thrown) which is refreshing

I've read it too, a while ago though. I rememeber that I didnt like the dancing demon thing, it seem silly... too silly even for buffy, haha 🙂
Also I didnt like the lack of angel, it had the potential to make a nice storyline involving him. I was wondering though, when in season 3 is it set? After angel came back obviously....

I think this is the first BTVS book I read but I can't remember anything about it!! I may have to see if I can find it and read it again lol
