I think this would work well. 🙂

It's not meant to be a popualrity contest, and it's not like we're going to have catagories like 'Who's the nicest person on the boards', it is just meant as a bit of fun and not to be taken seriously.

I like the idea of the 'For God's Sake Just Shut Up' award too, perhaps we could come up with some more unusual categories like this if we go ahead with the awards. 'lol' 😀 😉

........ and Lee, don't worry, nobody's going to be mad at you for suggesting this, it's a good idea. It's what we like to encourage members to do. 'lol' 😀

I don't know, I'm answering you now, and don't really know wether you'll be at least nominated, depends on the categories.
 
you know what would be funny...if people started campaigning to win these awards...like they used pop up ads and slander the other runners in their category..that would be funny...

i think this is a go...doesn't look like no is going to make a comeback...
 
I second that. It's all about trail and error. I think it could be a lot of fun if people would just kinda take it with a grain or salt. Maybe we could have runner ups...
I also love the for God's sake just shut up catagory. Too bad Mods are not able to win. I might have actaully had a crack at that one!
By the way, I'm skimming at the momsnt so forgive me if I missed this but I know Mods can't be considered but we CAN vote right?
 
I voted yes - but only if people with a sense of humour are the ones who are eligible ( I include myself in that category btw - most of the time anyway 🙂). People who take it too seriously or are easily offended shouldn't be allowed 😉 - that way, no-one should get upset 🙂. It's only a Buffy bulletin board, folks...
 
Sounds okay to me! I mean it's only a bit of fun, and you've gotta be a bit fragile if your gonna take the award seriously. Sounds good because it gives people a thing to work to, perhaps making them think of good threads etc, so in my opinion it could only help the board be better!
 
We better be able to vote, Rayne - I'm already thinking of people that I would vote for for certain awards.

Me too Oz. I have seen so many people on here that one could give up a good vote for. I think it could be fun! But guys, if any of you seriously have issues with this don't be afraid to speak up. We don't want this to hurt the relationships on the boards so don't keep feelings bottled up. Now is the time folks...
 
I was going to do the joke thing and nonchalantly mention a category that wouldn't be fair to have b/c I would always sweep it, but I would have any competitors in the "spazziest declarations of joy" category or the "cheesist joke" cattegory.



hehe...notice how I said I wasn't gonna do the joke thing but then I did it...and then it...and then I...yeah.

Well, it looks like this will more than likey be going ahead seeing as though we already have 20+ positive votes at present but unfortunately none of the staff will be eligible for the awards themselves but they will be able to vote for other members.🙂
 
Cordelia, just read your sig, and had an epiphany. Did you ever notice the Buffy/Angel theme is called Close Your Eyes. Doesn't that make you love it a little more.

This is the best I can do. If spike's_bitca can suggest categories she thinks she'd win, I wanna too.

I'd like to suggest a most deleted post, or cancelled thread award. 😀
