W&H in Sunnydale?

Although W&H is clearly a better fit tonally on ATS in Los Angeles, I've always wondered why they seemed to have almost no presence in the supernatural hotspot that is the Sunnydale hellmouth. Surely they had the resources to set up a satellite office there? I'm not saying BTVS was in need of a new villain, (much less the same one that dominates the entire run of ATS), but it makes little sense to me why they simply had no presence in Sunnydale whatsoever. Also, it might've provided an opportunity for some more crossover episodes between the two series, which would've been cool. Thoughts? Would this have been a good idea, even if explored for just a small handful of episodes? Or am I just taking crazy pills here?

Probably some bad guys that were circulating in Sunnydale were clients of W&H, and surely Lilah and Lindsey knew Sunnydale and the vampire slayer.

Oh, I also wanted to add that in ATS S5, it's implied that the Scoobies have all but completely lost faith in AI for joining W&H, which means they must have been aware of just how evil W&H is. However, nothing on BTVS suggested the Scoobies had ever had any firsthand encounters with W&H, which is also why I'm sort of wondering about this. In fact, I think the only time W&H makes any kind of "appearance" on BTVS is "End of Days" when Angel comes to Sunnydale to deliver the amulet from them.

It could be though that after the AI team joined W & H the Scoobies did more research on them. Or asked Giles about it. I mean surely the Watcher's Council must know all about Wolfram and Hart so he should know what it is.

With no substantiation in this matter beyond a gut feeling and the knowledge of Giles' feelings and suspicions about Spike, and his disapproval of Buffy's relationship with him and, most likely, Angel as well, though that was never actually mentioned, I have always believed that the entire "Buffy doesn't trust you" speech that Andrew gave at the end of "Damaged" was part of a plot by Giles to be sure that Buffy both never knew that Spike had returned, and didn't have any further contact with Angel. All that we are told concerning Buffy's feelings about Angel and his decision to run W&H came from Andrew, who said at the beginning of the episode that he worked for Giles, not Buffy, and that it was Giles, not Buffy, who had sent him there to find Dana. It very well could be that Buffy never knew anything about Angel and his bargain with the Senior Partners, or even about Dana herself.

Later in the season, when Angel was trying to contact Willow to help with Fred, he had to call Giles, not Willow herself, a fair indication that he had no way of directly contacting any of the Scoobies directly, and it was Andrew again, (probably still working for Giles and acting as the "handler" for the Slayer we learned in Season 8 wasn't Buffy at all, but an imposter posing as her for some reason) not Buffy herself, who told Angel and Spike in "The Girl In Question" that she had "moved on" with the Immortal.

(I could go on with my conspiracy theory, but it goes far beyond the original question here, even on into Season 8, and would almost certainly go off topic)

off topic... Strange but true, I agree with almost everything you said. This Giles thing who refuses to help Fred pisses me off beyond any limit. In Any Case it seems that in "A Hole in the World" had to be Giles there, but Anthony Stewart Head was in England and they couldn't pay for his travel by air so they created the new character Drogyn, and indeed he too is a member of the Watcher's Council... end off topic

Well, Sunnydale is a dangerous location, plenty of powerful forces, the the town itself faces a complete destruction every hundred years or so. More importantly, it's run by Wilkins. I can't imagine Major being happy with W&H operating on his territory.
