Just noticed the radomest thing. In beer bad when Xanders bartending at about 9 minutes in there is a Wales flag on the wall behind. Kinda random seeing the land of my fathers poppin', most Americans seem to think Wales is in England just outside london.

I've noticed that before and wondered why it was there, but I suppose seeing a Wales flag on an American show sorta stands out, haha.

theiniative agrees: Bluebird? That wouldn't be a cardiff reference by any chance?

Nah, just an Illyria reference. 😀

I did a Buffy quiz lately and there was a question about this. So I've just know they have Wales flag on the wall in Beer Bad. But I know Wales is a country. And I like Ryan Giggs. 😀

Rwyf wedi mwynhau Buffy am amser hir. 🙂

Ooh, oops, Nix... I was just playing along. LOL It says "I've loved Buffy for a long time."

Besides, celtic talk is kinda sexy. Even though I understand just about two words in the language, I tend to react to Gaelic, Cymric and Irish like Gomez Addams does to French. 😀

(Too bad theinitiative is a guy. 😛 )

Rydw i'n siarad Cymraeg achos Cymraeg hi'n yr hen wlad fy Nhadua. Cais a arhosaid fi.

I have yet to find any girl that find yr Cymraeg attractive, lol.

Seriously though, no one in Wales actually speaks Welsh, apart from posh kids who get sent to Welsh school because there parents think they will get a better education there. I would rather post in English tbh, but is funny to see complete confusion when you speak Welsh at people.

I live in England near to the north of Wales and you hear people speaking to each other in Welsh all the time (or maybe they just don't want the rest of us knowing what they're talking about lol)

I can say "Hello" and "Mr Angry" (from watching Mr Men on S4C years ago 😛 ) but I can't spell anything so I'm not much use on this thread! : erm :

That's the perk of learning any foreign language and speaking it around non-speakers. You can say some complete twaddle and then get a kick out their suspicion 😉

I'd love to learn welsh sometime though, but the spelling must be a right pain to get your head around.

Welsh is one of the hardest languages you can learn. The spellings requires a certain different midset to English spelling, and the mutations and word order are extremely tricky :(
I think I've heard of the Prince of Wales. But sadly before I read about it in Lonely Planet, I really had no idea what Wales was all about. Something to do with England! ha ha Bloody stupid American! Wait, isn't bloody English? Guess I should find out before I go there next summer!!!!!!!!!! lol Should I say I'm from Canada? :cool2:
