wallpapers?

what size should wallpapers be? 800x600 or 1024x768? whats the most comon resolution people have?

thats a lot of questions 🙂

yeah but it gets harder to work on bigger files!

..although most people i know use a 1024 resolution..

..but thats too big of a file!!

what to do? 🙁

well, i dont think it matters how ,uch work you should put in for one with a bigger resolution...
but i guess what ever's best you should do!

I use 800x600 and most of the people I know use that size. And 800x600 can be stretched to fit 1024x768 w/o distortion. Its really your choice. It is harder to work on bigger files. Just my input.

yeah i think you're right.. my computer doesnt handle files that big anyways.. so i guess i dont really have the choice :\

How Do You Make Wallpapers?

I wanna make myself an 800x600 wallpaper but I'm not sure how. What do I do?

This is my wallpaper. I know its sad but this is what you get when you mix paint with word. HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!😀

I think you should try to get your hands on either PhotoShop or PaintShop, they're both on K-Lite.

And then search AV or Google for tutorials on how to make wallpapers.

For beginners, I think you should just have a play with the tools of your pain program. Try out opacity and blends. For a first excercise, I think you shoudl just get a whole bunch of pix you like and place them on your 600x800 mat. Then fill up the area like a collage and blend the edges into each other until you can't see any lines. hopefully. go crazy and eventually you'll get to a very pretty wallpaper.

I say, use 1024x768 since I often download wallpapers that size and fit it on my 600x800 screen and there's hardly any distortion. It also depends on how big your screencaps or pix are. Sometimes, i have tons of pix I want to make into one wallpaper. Then its 1024x768. or vice versa.

yeah slaygal is right...

just get the program and start playing around with the buttons seeing what they do.

then just open a new canvas at 800x600 and get creative. 🙂

I started small. Just one pic and some text. It depends on what program you use.

I use a program called Arcsoft Photostudio. I don't think anyone else uses it. I also have Adobe and Corel but I don't use them even though they are suppose to be really good. I stick with Arcsoft. It depends which one your comfortable with using. They all offer different features.
