Was Angelus more dangerous than Darla?

I don't really think so, if you're referring to the ABILITY to cause death, destruction, and chaos. Angel actually caused more, but I have no doubt that Darla could have done just as much if she had been so inclined. She was more like an indulgent mother, watching "her boy," as she referred to Angel on several occasions, have fun like a parent watching their child play Little League.

Really really interesting question! Darla showed Angelus her world and taught him all he knew so in that way, the ability to create a demon like that makes her dangerous.

However I do think he actually surpasses her expectations and her evil in a way. One scene that makes me think this, I remember specifically, is when Angelus shows Darla Drusilla for the first time before she is made a vampire. Drusilla has been driven insane by Angelus and Darla asks him when they should kill her. He says he should make her a vampire and Darla is really surprised saying something like "but she's insane!" Even Darla couldnt comprehend doing this. Angelus's passion and thirst for evil and the different ways he can cause pain I think is shown here.

I love their relationship and history! Great thread idea!

I think that Darla taught Angelus in her ways, but he went above and beyond. I think he became more sick and twisted than she ever was. This may have also been, as [MENTION=6758]white avenger[/MENTION] said, because Darla was more into watching what she made at work in glory than doing things herself. But I think Angelus had become more dangerous than her.

I think that Angelus was more dangerous, as Darla was still under the control of the master. Angelus did his own thing he surpassed Darla's level, whereas Darla while seductive, she always in the end did what the Master wanted and frequently returned to him.
 
I think that a souled Darla doesn't really fit. An Angel with soul is cool! So personally I think that Angel is cooler than Darla and so he is the better villian! 😀 It's the "like more" factor!

Even though Darla sired Angel/Angelus do you think Angeleus surpassed Darla as a dangerous vampire?
 
Interesting question. I think that Darla was older and had more experience than Angelous. But she is too convinced about herself, just as most of the vampires. Angelous is too, but not as much as Darla. And that makes her weak. In a fight, Angelous could kill her because he had more training in fighting. She had more ecperience in killing people but not in killing demons. And I think Angelous is more cruel than Darla. Yes I think he is more dangerous than Darla!
 
I'm pretty sure that they were both sexual sadists but...I'd be more afraid if I found myself in a dark alley with Angelus. Darla seemed to cause more destruction with Angelus than she did with Drusilla/on her own. He also seemed to be a bit more unhinged than Darla. However, I'm thinking specifically of how he acted in Eternity and maybe the drugs made him act a tad more...crazed.
